I've posted before about my marriage ended somewhat recently due to my discovery of an ongoing 10 month affair that my wife was party to.

Today I get a phone call from an unsaved number. I glanced at my phone then set it down...but then I took a second look and recognized the number. How could I not? It was the number I saw in my ex wife's usage log. The number that she texted hundreds of times a day, every day, for nearly a year. It was David's phone number.

I picked up, and simply said "I assume this is David." He said "yes, and please don't hang up bro...I have some things I need you to know."

We had a somewhat cordial conversation. According to David (and for now I believe him) he did not know that my ex was married. She supposedly told him that her and I were separated. He never once was in my house or knew where she lived because she told him that she was crashing on a friend's couch and that she couldn't have men over. Once we were divorced, she finally moved in with David. He still knew none of this.

A few weeks ago, my ex wife had forgotten to log out of her Facebook account on David's laptop. When he opened it, he saw an active messenger thread between her and her sister. The thread went back for months talking about how my ex sister in law couldn't believe what my ex wife had done, how she could do all of this to me, and handle lying to both me and her new boyfriend.

Reportedly, David confronted her and she came clean. When he demanded my contact info from her, she told him stories about how crazy I was...that I had an insane temper, and how I would likely kill both of them if David reached out to me.

Thankfully he did not believe her and found my number by doing some digging online. David wanted me to know how sorry he was, that he wouldn't have ever knowingly broken bro code, and that he is currently planning to kick my ex out and break things off with her.

Do I believe him? Meh, I'm not quite sure. But the phone call did bring some strange sense of closure to me. I sure hope David is telling me the whole truth...and that he follows through with what he said he was planning.
