Quick background: I'm 9 months post separation and 6 months post divorce from my ex wife. The final divorce decree ended up in us selling the house and splitting the equity 50/50 ($350k to each even though she didnt put a single penny toward the down-payment or the mortgage), she got all the furniture, we each got 2 of the 4 vehicles, I traded my share of her business for keeping my 401k in full, and alimony for 4 years or until she remarries or cohabitates. The alimony is $2k a month...which isn't the end of the world but just enough to be fucking annoying.

I've always referred to my ex wife's sister as Forrest Gump. Stupid is as stupid does. She lives for drama and loves to stir up shit. Her sister calls me out of the blue a few weeks back to "check in and see how I'm doing."

During the conversation she goes off the rails...starts talking about this great new guy my ex is seeing, how he pays for everything and takes her on amazing trips...how my ex moved in with him just a couple weeks after we divorced. Wait....what was that?

I get off the phone with her and IMMEDIATELY call up my lawyer. My ex was to notify the court immediately upon remarriage or cohabitation. My lawyer digs into it and finds out indeed that she moved in with this douche 10 days after our divorce. He petitions the court and I have her ass served for contempt. She texts me a few times after she gets served and I respond with "have your lawyer contact mine" and I go radio silent.

My lawyer tells her lawyer she can either agree to terminate alimony immediately, or we can go in front of the judge where I will be asking for reimbursement of my attorney fees plus a refund of all alimony paid thus far.

Yesterday I got word that my ex agreed to terminate alimony immediately.

All of this becuase Forrest Gump couldn't keep her fucking mouth shut. She cost my ex over $80k just so she could satisfy her need for drama. Hope it was worth it. Dumbass.
