So your ex lost her grip on you because now you're taking another woman's garbage out? Is that what you're saying? How about not taking anyone's garbage out for a change?

Get a room in a motel for a week or three. See how that feels. I've done exactly that. And I feel relieved. No more pressure, no more arguments. It feels good. I'm currently in the market for a small apartment. Since I left, me and my ex-spouse are actually able to communicate like grown up human beings again. No hate whatsoever. We still like and respect each other. We just aren't made for each other. I've lived in her house those last 5 years and I've clearly overstayed my welcome for quite a …

Buddy of mine does it differently. He lets his wife make the to-do list. Then he sees to it that the stuff gets done. On HIS schedule. Works for them. Married back in the 80s or so and going. My parents had a similar approach. Little red ribbons on everything that needs fixing. They get annoying after a while so eventually stuff got adressed. It worked.

No excitement? No butterflies? That may be a good thing. Butterflies suck, my mom once said to me. It's way better if it just feels normal to be together she said. And I agree. Why is engagement or marriage required for the two of you being together? Social norms and expectations? It can be practical to enter this legal agreement. In case of sickness and death. I've seen it. But you shouldn't feel pressured. It should feel like a good decision, like the right thing to do. And before you jump at …

You don't have to change anything. You may choose to do so because a partnership is also about compromise. That's the way it works. It doesn't mean you have to be a doormat. Btw, women don't like doormats. A relationship shouldn't be a constant fight.

She's jealous of your car 😅 At first glance a car may not seem like a hill worth dying on in a relationship. But it's not really about the car. She's challenging your very right to enjoy something that's yours and that you put a lot of effort into, and that's been around for longer than her. She's challenging your boundaries on a very basic level. So you back off a little, move the car out of HER sight. So you can't drive it anytime you want anymore because you have to pick it up from your paren…

Man, that's horrible. I don't know if it's feasible in the US, but have you considered going down the medical road? Burn Out is very real. Stress can and will make you physically sick and send you to an early grave. Have a medical checkup. High blood pressure? Insomnia? Panic attacks? I'm willing to bet money on that. Stress hormones can be measured, I bet yours are through the roof. Feeling suicidal? Yeah, I'd be careful playing that card, but what if you do? Try to find practitioners with expe…

When my 96 Corolla finally had to go I very seriously contemplated getting the exact same model again because of the insane reliability. Couldn't get my hands on a good one, and turns out that in decent shape they cost quite a bit more than what I paid for mine in 2012. No joke. Had to settle for a newer model lol.

I'm (m44) not dating currently but since my early 30s I've found myself rather looking up than down. Chicks in their 20s may be nice to look at but that's that. If at all. The really interesting women are my age or even slightly above. And they're rare. Chicks are a dime a dozen.

Not married myself but similar experience. Normally I'd be looking forward towards the end of my daily work shift. On the drive home my mood would drop, knowing there was just more struggle ahead. That 20 minute commute alone in my car really was the best part of my day. Sucks.

If there's ONE thing I hate, it's snooping on your partners phone like you're fucking entitled to it. My phone is my sacred private place. It shall not be breached. In a relationship it's a matter of trust. Mine is usually not locked because I don't feel the need to. I don't WANT to feel the need to. Neither is hers (my spouse). No need to. It's quite possible that some mental disorder is at play here. I'd say maybe educate yourself a bit on this topic, see if anything fits and decide for yourself if you rally want to deal with that for the foreseeable future. I know I don't. And I have. Even if it really is a personality trait, same thing applies. Do you really want to be treated like shit and get constantly riled up? It's only been 2 years now. It'll probably not improve. I really really hate this speak about "the wall" It's disgusting. At 30 I hooked up with a 47yo divorced mother of an 18yo daughter. Oil rigs are an option if you're physically fit and don't mind the hard work and long shifts. You also get a lot of time off and the pay is good. They don't squirm at all at hiring felons because they're adjusted to confined spaces. That's what I was told. Definitely not for me though.

Will bicycling do? I mean, I hate sports. Really. I hate soccer, I hate basketball, I hate running, everything. I wouldn't ride a bike for the life of me but I have to. I lost my licence last December and won't get it back anytime soon. So if I'm gonna ride that bike I might as well do it hardcore fast. Been there, done that before. I'm gonna sell my car and get a nice and hardcore bike. Not too expensive but yeah, you get it. A fast one. And a helmet too. Lifting might be the one thing I won't …

It's not sexual attraction. It's your own mindset. Validate yourself. Learn to actually value yourself for what you are. You don't need anyone to give you value if you are content with yourself.

One of the guys here (whom I haven't seen post in a while, sadly) applies a firm 6 month rule on any sexual relationship. He makes it clear from the start that the engagement has an expiration date. Works for him, may not work for you. You can interact with women if you so choose. Just make sure it's on your terms. Make it clear that you are your own man. Always have your own place to live. Have your goals and boundaries clearly laid out. Be ready to say no. Be ready to walk away at all times. B…

Maintenance is important. The best motor will die of neglect. I disagree on the oil and gas part. You don't need top tier gas and oil. Just use what's specified in the manual. Sticking to the specs is the most important thing with the VVT-i engines. Just change it regularly. On older engines even more often. Heck, I use Toyota genuine oil, it's not even expensive. 25-30 Euros for 5 liters on the internet, so what, and they don't even require it in the manual. Just don't use the cheapest shit ava…

I'm certainly not one of the masterminds on this sub. But I have a few cents to give. Everyone here acts like no marriage no cohabitation is the core of mgtow. I think that's just a symptom. I think the philosophy applies to everyone. There's a common misconception that mgtow is about women. It is not. It's about you being yourself. The most basic principal of mgtow imo is self validation, as opposed to external validation. Be it your spouse, be it society. Be yourself, pursue your goals. Be the king of your castle. You can invite whoever you choose into your life. Or choose not to.

Sure you can love a woman. She just has to bring something more to the table than just pussy. She has to commit. Just like you. Oh, the needle in the haystack. The ever elusive unicorn.

I don't see why you should be banned for your post. Except well, off topic bah wahmen lol. You sparked a discussion here, nice. Some fresh air never hurts. Personally I think that the main principle of mgtow is self validation over external validation. Everything else is secondary. If you want to go your way feel free to share your views. Enrich this sub. If you're gay, fine. Most of us aren't. But we don't care. Ignore the noise.

I don't see where you got the impression that mgtow is homophobic. Not on this sub. You're gay, fine. We couldn't care less. Wanna go your way? You're welcome here. The question of gay men and mgtow has come up before, in fact I asked if the philosophy applied to gay men. The discussion was inconclusive. Feel free to enlighten us. Genuinely. No where on this sub have I seen any resentment against the LGBT community. Or racism.

Yeah, wow. Apart from that, I know some couples who seem to do fine, but I can't look behind the scenes so I can't really say. For me it didn't work so far. I do think however that a MGTOW mindset, as regarding to self validation over external validation, is an incredibly powerful tool for everyone. I wish I had known about mgtow earlier in life, it would have spared me a lot of grief. I really hope this philosophy gets traction. Without the hate or rage. Everyone should strive to be their best …

My parents are married 43 years without regret. My father naturally was the main provider, working a profession he didn't particularly like but which paid the bills. He had other dreams which turned out to not be realistic if you want to support a family. And I say "want to" not "have to". He served 4 years in the army, military police of all things, then got more education and became a banker. He always was a handy man, doing stuff around the house and more. But so did my mother. I don't see this kind of post as troll or bait. MGTOW is somewhat controversial. I think it's a good thing the community is willing and able to stand up to their beliefs and reasoning without spewing hate. The hating invalidates the philosophy. I think MGTOW is a reaction to flaws in current society and these kind of discussion are an opportunity to present our case. And those are rare enough in current biased media. I'm glad I don't see the AWALT stereotype often on this sub. I'm also glad that…

Happy families, couples and relationships are not a myth. They are just very rare, and they require work. They require both partners equally to work on the relationship. To make it work, both parties have to define their goals and their boundaries. Both will have to compromise. Both will have to bring something to the table. Both will have to be sensible human beings with respect for the SO's wishes and needs. It worked for my parents, married 43 years, and I have no doubt that only death will p…

College/university/academics isn't for everyone who just happens to be smart enough. You didn't like it, you have your reasons, period. If you have a solid backup plan for your future there shouldn't be an issue. Concerning communication, avoid blaming others. Don't say, they did this or they did that, it's so unfair. Say you felt uncomfortable in the situation because of reasons a, b, c, and took steps to remedy that. Hard to argue against that.

Interesting. You may be on to something. In WW2 European theater the American soldiers suffered way more PTSD than the German soldiers, despite the Germans taking more beating. Living in Germany, I can relate. I'm from the western part but have friends in the eastern, former socialist, part. The difference in mentality is huge even now, 30 years after the reunion. Solid advice here for the most part, however I disagree with a few things. First, you won't get a somewhat usable bike for 500 bucks. In my experience that's scrap heap level. 1000-1500 seems more realistic to me. Second, you need protective clothing. I spent ~600,- for the full set. That was cheap. Not skimpy but, well, discounted. You can easily spend that on a helmet or boots alone. Consider this in your budget. Third, I don't consider a heavy cruiser like the 1100 Honda Shadow a viable choic…

While true, it can well happen that YOU wake up one day and find your goals no longer desirable. We grow older, our perspectives change. Don't hesitate to re-evaluate. If you're a male dom rigger sadist it would be a bad thing if you hated women as your subjects. In these engagements, usually a clear set of goals and boundaries is predefined. Mutual trust is the currency here. I'm not directly involved in this kind of thing but I know that a decent bdsm community should value things like trust and boundaries above everything else. And this includes you going YOW and not wanting to get involved further in a relationship. It's a fetish you indulge in, and it's a…

A goal is something you want to achieve. You put effort to achieve said goal. If you are not willing to put effort toward said thing, it is not your goal. Edit: Do you know what your goal is? If its like, have an easy life without much responsibility? Then by all means, go for it. Nothing wrong with that. Define the prerequisites and work towards meeting them.

Well, I'll hold the door for anyone. Not open it, mind you, but I don't let it slam in anyone's face. As you said, that's just common ccourtesy. Same with traffic. I may yield my right of way to anyone depending on situation as a courtesy. I don't care to whom. I'll block entitled assholes but again, I don't care about gender/race/whatever.

If you really want to quit smoking I recommend you look into Allen Carr's Easyway. It has a high success rate. What got me interested in cooking was the book "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. Admittedly not the best source for healthy nutritional information but still an entertaining read.

I once talked to someone who was in a somewhat comparable situation. Man did he take some measures. Retired ex cop, had his gf move in with him. Fighting ensued, he broke up and she flat out refused to move out of HIS house. He sold the fucking house to a neighbour without telling her and one day packed up and moved out. Not his problem anymore. Ok, he had been thinking about selling anyway because the place was too big for him in his stage in life, so it wasn't such a big leap. He bought a smal…

A trained female martial artist WILL take out a larger and physical fit man who has no fighter training. Years ago, I was watching a Regina Halmich fight with a buddy. A large man, very strong and even with boxing experience of his own. He flat out admitted he wouldn't stand a chance against her. Regina was world champion at that time, so... Stefan Raab, German comedian, actually got in the ring against her. That man had balls. He probably trained for some time to be up to the task but is by no …

Problem 1 I can totally relate. I didn't get laid until 22 and it was a huge issue for me. When it finally happened it was a turn off. I didn't enjoy it at all. No love was involved (no hooker either) it was just an opportunity presenting itself. Don't get me wrong, sex can be nice. It improved over time for me. More like my neighbours' face when after a year of messing around I finally cranked the engine of my 1987 Moto Guzzi at 2 AM. It misfired. Heavily.
