From my experience, men tend to start dressing up when they wanna impress me. My fiancée does all the time. Because... [Obvious reason] The other stuff (other than exercise, for me personally, since I'm lazy and skinny, lol) I agree. Bare minimum.

Sorry, but how is "attractive" not a high standard? I find very few men really attractive to me... Honestly, most of the guys are attractive because they have a good face ( I look at the face the most ). Other than that I agree...

Okay, thank you for the advice. I'll take it into account.

That makes sense... He does have very good English skills (we're not from an English speaking country). So freelancing is a good advice... Not dating a potential huh... Damn. It sounds right... I'll see if I can motivate him to push his career, but if not... I'm gonna have some serious talks...

Okay, but I'm asking if that's enough to write him off? We've been dating for a year, and he knows my family and I know his. title is the only thing that bothers me. Is it enough to warrant a break up? Or can I help him somehow?

I personally agree with everything but spirituality... I'm and atheist and so is my fiancée. Otherwise I agree :)

Yea, we straightened things out. He decided to go to a club with me, to really see how it is. And he had a lot of fun. He trust me even more now that we're engaged, and has no problem with me going to clubs anymore, with or without him.

I know it's gonna be unpopular here, but I sort of agree with the picture. I dislike fancy dinners. And for Valentines day, I don't really expect much other than some flowers and chocolates. Knowing my boyfriend, he'll probably overdo it... But it's not that big of a deal to me. Sure, he takes me out to eat nice once a month, but I wouldn't go for more than that tbh...

They don't just protect, but make sure they're safe, even though there is no immanent danger. For example, my boyfriend came to visit me in the town I attended college at. So the two of us, and one female and one male friend of mine went out for drinks. It was late, and the girl that was with us had to take an uber back home. He insisted we waited for the uber with her. He ordered it from his app, so he could track it to make sure she gets home safe. He also wrote down the license plate of the c…

This is very helpful! Honestly I'm young, so my boyfriend can't produce any huge results in the world yet, hahah. But the other things you mentioned, he passes with flying colours. Thank you for this. And I wasn't even aware I was doing all of these things unconsciously.

My boyfriend mass un-followed a bunch of instagram models infront of me. I didn't ask him to, he just said he doesn't need to "view that crap" anymore. I value that he owned up to it. I don't mind if he follows those pages, or not, but I'm a bit glad to be honest.

Nah, I don't like big teddy bears, and giving "myself" is kinda dumb imo lol.

How is he abusive??? He never said I "can't" go. He never threatened to do anything to himself to stop me (some of my friends had guys threaten that, and that was abusive behaviour they dumped them for), or cry his eyes out, or anything similar...

I don't think he is, or will become abusive... That's a bit too much. I know him, and he would never do something like that. Anyone who knows him would confirm that. And no, he doesn't want to cheat. Trust me... He's about as loyal as it gets. Low confidence and super nice. He just isn't that kind of person. And I don't appreciate you calling him "low value" just because of this one example. What is a high value man to you? A literal perfect man? That doesn't exist... Yes, I would like him to be…

It's down to personal preference. I can't say I would be unhappy with him going to clubs, because that's not his thing. Plus I like going, so the reverse doesn't really help, since I would be glad he likes what I like. If he (for example) played video games every day until late at night, then yes. i would be unhappy with it.

Yea, we talked about it. He said he would need to learn to accept that I'm gonna go out sometimes. I just wanted to hear what you peeps had to say.

I didn't have fun the last 4 times I went to that club before being with him. So it's most likely not him. He needs to learn trust yea, I agree.

No problem! Gladly. We're both 19, so it's a young relationship (I should have mentioned that). I’m sure he’s had sex with other people before committing to you so it’s not rational to be upset like that. Nope, he's literally had no luck with girls his entire teen life. I don't understand how, but he only kissed 2 girls and never had a relationship before. He was actually one of those dudes that hasn't been given a chance... It's funny because a lot of dudes say that and turn out to be assholes,…

No, no, ofcourse not. Before I ever met him, like a year and a half ago, I was with my ex. We never had sex, but we did "other stuff" That's what bothers him a bit, but he knows it's irrational

My boyfriend didn't even want to enter a relationship with a girl if he wasn't sure it was going to last a very long time. The last girl he dated for about 3 months, and then broke it off because he wasn't too sure. When he met me, he took me on 3 dates within a week and asked me to be with him. If he wants to, he'll do it. If he doesn't, he'll stall.

If he's -not- trying to dump it on you or twist things, that's ok. If he's just "sad nearby" and you have natural empathy, that's good. That's exactly it. He's just sad about it. And I feel bad about that tbh... However, you're not even having fun. Are you just being defiant :P He said 'don't go' so now you want to. When I try and look at it objectively, it seems like I'm just chasing something I've had fun with before, but it ain't working. Same goes for him and videogames, he plays a little, b…

Thank you so much!!! I don't think he planned for me to see though. He likes to surprise me often hahah. Yea, I see what you mean. I am young and should be careful... It just sucks that some guys don't turn out the way you want them to. He's defined dead on for what I'm looking for, but we'll see as things unfold.

Yeah but you don't know the him that you would be living with... That's true. I haven't made up my mind yet, that's why I'll talk to him about it aswell. To make sure he knows what he's doing and what this means for us

I'll make sure I make the right decision. And I'll definitely talk to him about it. We have very open communication so it won't be a problem

Chances are in three years you probably won't even be together. I know the sad statistics. I like to think it won't be like that for us, but you never know. I wouldn't even say to live with him because honestly living with a guy is not that great. Most of those relationships go south. And no matter what they say, they always want you to serve them and somehow it will turn out that way. I don't think I fully agree with this. I know he's neat, cooks and he always washes the dishes and dries them a…

I will echo what another gal here said and suggest that you might do a long engagement. That’s what me and my guy are doing. We’re not young to be getting married by any means but we were only together for 1.5 years or so before we got engaged, so we’re taking the whole wedding process and whatnot... pretty slow. I think that engagement doesn’t necessarily have to mean “holy shit now we’re speeding down the slope to marriage”, it’s just another phase in the relationship, basically saying that yo…

That sounds nice too. I definitely don't want to get married right away. He doesn't want to either. We would plan it in about 5 years time. But is there a point to getting engaged then? He is making a huge commitment which I'm extremely glad about

I will. I think finishing college first would be best, but if he proposes, I'll have a talk with him. It might even be better to come clean and tell him what I saw. We're very open in communication, so it won't be a problem.

I'm worried about changing too much aswell... I want him now true, but there's no guarantee I'll be in love with him just as much. I hope I will, and also that it's mutual ofcourse.

I never had sex before him... And I'm naturally just interested in how it would feel with other people. That's my concern... It's not bad with him it's good. But I don't know if it's worth throwing away such an amaizing guy for some adventures. Emotionally, he's all I need tho.

But what do I do? Breaking up with him would just make me feel sad. There is no reason to

“afraid of gold diggers”. this is sexist bullshit, especially from a dude who lives in an apartment his dad bought This was just a joke. He isn't serious about that lol is already talking to you, a 19 year old with the world at your fingertips, about how he wants you to come live with him when you finish college? What happens when you get a kick ass job or get into your dream grad school? He said that after I finish the 3 years of college, and have to finish the last 2 which I can do in any city…

He plays videogames with a friend from the US he's known for like 8 years. He also draws and watches anime. Which I do aswell. He likes to listen to music and just chill and watch movies with me sometimes. He doesn't have much free time sadly. He does spend half of it with his friends, so that's good.
