Babe, you're only 24!! You won't end up alone, you have loads of time to find what you deserve, ie someone kind who treats you with respect, who values you and adds value to your life, someone you feel sexually attracted to. Honestly, it's not a big ask. Also, it shouldn't take for you to dump him for him to start acting like a decent human being! You can do better than this and you know it.

One step at a time, honey. I promise you, you can do it. I was in a similar situation not too long ago, not even 6 months since I got out of a 4-year relationship with a very toxic NVM who broke me completely. But since dumping him, my life has gotten so much better and easier! Trust me, as soon as you leave his sorry ass behind you will be able to spend all the time you're now spending stressing over your relationship on your own wellbeing. Now, take one step at a time. Start with arranging whe…

Very true, I'm trying to push myself on this but as you mentioned: easier said than done. I would very much like to communicate my must-haves, but doing so faces a problem according to the FDS handbook. To my understanding I should not give a man clues about my standards and must-haves etc, as a LVM can than "fake" a HV-date because he now knows what I want and what I like? What are your thoughts on this dilemma? Edit: In short, how much should I tell for him not to be able to "fake it" but stil…

Thank's for this, this was very good advice, although this would still be a big step for me to only plan exit strategy and not set the place, time, day etc. I guess practice makes perfect in this case

This is gaslighting! Trust your gut on this one, if he cared about you and your feelings the least he could have done was to have an honest and open conversation about it instead of flaring up and getting mad about it.

I think the key is being assured that the person is thinking about you and responding appropriately based on your style of communication and the phase of the relationship. Thank you, this was very well put! I think as a recovering pickmeisha previously chill about being left on read for days, it's important for me to break away from that pattern and only engage in conversation which enriches and benefits me.

Thank you for this! I’ve found it quite difficult to set up boundaries and timelines for intimacy, so this was very helpful

This is very true, and I agree with what lacyvulture is saying, it only takes a few seconds to say ”I’m a bit busy atm, talk later?”. I think I want this specific 3hrs thing because previously I’ve been quite easy going about being left on read, and it has of course ended quite badly for me and not in my favour. As of now, I’m humble to the fact that I’m an at risk pick me and need to be held on a tight leash. I feel it’s important to set up strict boundaries for myself, as I don’t wish to be tr…

Thank's for the advice, I completely agree! Just one question about no. 2, do you mean it's enough saying they enjoyed spending time with you when actually on the date (for example, when saying goodbye) or do you mean saying they enjoyed it when reaching out after the date? I agree that it does not have to be a specific "thank you"-text. However, I still want them to reach out and express their appreciation and interest in some way after the date.

Thank you for your input! No, you're perfectly clear and I completely agree with no. 1, all situations are different and I am understanding to that. And as you said, there are of course more ways to determine if I should cut them off other than simply sticking to my deadlines. However I do think it’s a bit rude to leave someone on read for more than 3hrs, I guess it’s more of a personal standard I hold both myself and my friends to. Hence, the one I’m dating should not get any special treatment …

I would say just drop it. What will you gain from hearing what he has to say, it’s all in the past and knowing what actually went down on his end won’t change the fact that he chose another woman over you. My advice would be to not pursue any kind of relationship. Keep it civil but don’t engage. I’m not sure if your intentions are to start things up again with this guy, but if you were to do so, even just as friends, I believe the fact that he chose another woman will always linger in the backgr…
