Take her statements seriously (as indication of something may be off), but not literally Exactly! And you make a good point that I didn't talk about: her statements/emotions are an indicator. It would be foolish to treat an indicator as truth, and equally foolish to ignore it entirely.

And what has been done will be done again. @ u/Hungry-Sky-7984 Keep going - you're on the right track in general. Here's where you messed up: She says, she says, she says You already know the answer:"Watch her actions, not her words". But how are we supposed to do that, when it's pretty obvious that your wife is serious? Her reasons are rational. It's not like she's lying when she says she blames you or never wanted kids, right? She's not lying - she's telling you the truth from the emotional st…

Hell yeah, you're gonna love the freedom. I wanted to ride since I was a kid, 4 years ago I finally got a used bike and did the weekend course. One of the best things I've done for myself. Glad to see you're on the mend bro.

Good man. Not only for communicating your needs and giving your wife the chance to help, but also because you're not accepting a victim mentality. I broke 3 bones in my leg while sledding with my daughter, I've been recovered for a few months now. Surgery, plates and screws, etc. But the worst part was being stuck in bed for 10 weeks, and having to quickly overcome the discomfort of asking for help with EVERYTHING. It was 4 months before I could drive myself and my crutches to the gym. Every day…

You've given me a lot to process - I'm going to let it marinate and get back to you. I recently learned about the concept of a "Swing Thought" in baseball (or any activity requiring split-second decisions without time for analysis, like keeping the eighths on your hat while right foot plays on upbeats). When a baseball is thrown at 90mph, the batter has only a fraction of a second to act - not nearly enough time for the batter to consider his years of training, his stance and timing, the pitcher…

It’s natural for readers to consider the message and the medium – I had the benefit of not knowing your history (or lack thereof) as I read your post. I didn’t see any of the usual culprits of LARPing: flowery language, generalizations, vague re-statements of material without adding, etc. I found value in your post, and I wish I’d had this when I first unplugged. Because you succinctly and clearly pulled together material from all over the sidebar to show how they contribute to a man’s frame. I …

+1 for Aloha's comment on your main question. Sexual repression and all goes out the window if she it is with an appropriately HVM True, but it's also not a guarantee. A woman will reject even the Chad-est Chad due to her emotions, or past trauma, or being hangry or just not feeling like it right now. any escalation further than that requires me to do some "grey area" stuff I assume this means you're putting effort into overcoming her objections, and you feel like you're being manipulative with …

This is where guys get hung up on the word 'fake' ("Your frame shouldn't be fake, bro!"), when really it means "Having the balls, confidence and frame to take ACTION - even if you're inexperienced or afraid or defying your own sensibilities and doing it anyways." >“One pretends to do something, or copy someone or some teacher, until it can be don…

This post is written like bathroom graffiti, I almost didn't read it. That would have been my loss, because damn you nailed it. Men seem to be hard-wired to use action and outcomes for everything, even the emotions of others. I observe and learn from other people when they boldly put their needs first, including my wife like you mention. I'm sure some guys will interpret this as "learn to be manipulative, just like your wife", which is absolutely not the case. There's a fake type of confidence t…

Isn't it amazing when you realize: "I can do anything I want"? And then, to chose to give abundantly to yourself first, so you can pour out those things freely to your daughters and wife. To create a life that makes you excited to wake up, instead of using porn and alcohol to numb the dread of another night. this place needs more pictures And more 1-year posts like this one. does it hurt more or help more to be married when dating? for you, neither Why? Like I know I'm dense I have a buddy who is obese (350lbs) and starting to exercise. He asked me: "Which of these 2 exercises is better for ab muscles?" It was a valid question, with real answers - at the completely wrong time. Sometimes, the universe gives us exactly what we need; you had already been preparing yourself before she walked in the door with more emotional vomit. So much better than "My wife asked if I love her, what should I do?" shit tests become kind of fun and then you realize you are playing a game you don’t fucking want to play. Good stuff Stoney. I consumed a lot of Field Reports from you and others when I was new. You're spot on about writing (for yourself, or for an audience) as a way to identify blind spots, remove ego and exchange notes. I see the overwhelming volume of garbage FRs at TRP (and several other places), and I'm glad we don't have that problem at MRP. But I wonder if we've gone to the opposite extreme. empathy is merely a suggestion for you to consider. There it is - that clicked right into place. I think I get your meaning, re: a woman's own agency. We can identify the reasoning (or feelz or biology) behind a woman's actions; we can prescribe the best strategic action for a man to take. OR I can disregard diplomacy and exert my own will without going Rambo.

This resonated with me in a big way man. "What you resist, persists" has been my experience too. (For example, As long as my focus was "don't drink", I kept drinking.) Perhaps trying to kill my ego is as futile as trying to kill pain or fear (also things that aren't real) - instead, we learn to not be ruled by them. I made it my mission to kill the ego, and I may have taken it too far. In my mission to kill my ego, I have been seeking those places where I could be wrong, and when problems arise …

Our sex life has gotten worse even after the therapy session and multiple discussions Therapy and talking are making it worse. Neither of those things are bad or good, but the way you're using them is making you enter a power struggle with your wife (hint: you've already lost). You and Horns must be seeing something that I'm not. I may be off on this one. u/exoskel10 admits he has terrible game and oneitis for his wife, but I don't see inflamed ego that comes with validation seeking. I also don't see the anger toward women or take-my-ball-and-go-home of MGTOW. detach myself and let my body do its thing I like this, and I absolutely get your meaning. A musician may spend 100 hours playing scales, consciously following precise rules to train, like creating muscle memory to throw a punch. The best part is what you describe: that state where you're creative and flowing with something new, but it's not being done consciously (When you're in that state playing music, I bet you're not thinking: "OK, now I'm going to hit this note twice, then I'll use a tripl…

The clip you linked is excellent. I don't recall seeing that before, but he had a similar message that has stuck with me for years: "Stop saying things that make you feel weak." It's funny, the tongue is such a small part of the body but it does a lot. Like a small rudder on a huge ship; even against massive waves and wind, the captain can steer the ship where he wants to go. I have a long way to go in taming my own tongue. new but familiar These are things you know in your unconscious, but you have to mine those depths to bring it up to conscious awareness Yes! I came here to say this, and I see that you and u/The_Red_Letters nailed it. JBP talks about something similar in 12 More Rules - that we have latent "knowledge" that is available to us, but it requires action. committing to writing honestly... The plan is of course, accountability I'll post lifting numbers next week Why next week? Is it because you're afraid of the feedback? I'm asking honestly, because that's normal. It can sting to hear that you need to improve in any area, even if you're already aware. There's no better place to start than OYS #1. Zino explains it well in the comment above mine. Read that and see if you identify how 'most' guys act VS a man filled with frame and abundance. When she's getting 99 AFCs on tinder, you can still be the challenge, the one who's validation she needs. With 99 guys telling her 'yes', you stand out by saying no.

I didn't plan most of the vacation... Why was I worrying about what MRP says I should do. I stopped worrying and started living. The only mistake is to not make a decision. Good! MRP is just the training wheels, it helps us make decisions at a time when we will crash hard if we take a wrong turn. But once you're up and moving? The first step in providing that foundation was for me to become a congruent man. YES! ...So your mission FOR NOW can be to take stock of some of these basics and get to work on them. Exactly right, pour the foundation first. Mindful Attraction Plan is good for this u/solid_run8850 : taking stock of each area in your life, and identifying the urgent fires that need to be put out before you start planning the next addition.

In any event, I am not ready to pull the pin: Self-awareness, good. This will serve you much better than trying to Hamster yourself into believing you're ready to nuke. The escalation you describe seems to be a common response from our wives when we start having boundaries. I've started escalating on purpose, why should she be the only one to increase the intensity? I've got another hot tip for you bros. Why you should never go to a Strip Club, in one sentence: At Strip Clubs, women will manipulate you just to get your attention and money. Plus, there's too much competition at a Strip Club. She could literally talk to anyone she wants, so if you're not in the top 10% for looks or money, it's a waste of time. Also at a certain age you just look desperate for even trying. Summary: If you enter a Strip Club, your ONLY option is to be a Simp - you are required …

Excellent post, I liked the examples combined with the reasoning behind them. Astute readers will recognize that you aren't peddling "texting tips"; you're describing how a man can communicate his frame and value, authentically, and from a place of adundence. I'm fluent in Teapot, allow me to translate: "Fuck my morality" So the literal translation, straight from Teapot-eese would be: "I was Moral/Good/Ethical, and still didn't get what I wanted and I'm angry. So I need to become Not Moral, which I hate (because I'm so moral)." But when translating from Teapot-eese, it's important to remember context. Because you don't need a salary to make a vagina wet or have high value. I think what Eckhart Tolle was saying is more like this: My brain/thoughts/emotions are part of me, but they are not me. Because I can observe them, my "consciousness" must be a third party, that "watcher" who is actually me. He uses the phrase "I love myself" to illustrate this. If "myself" is the culmination of all things Barracuda - then who is the "I"? It's that third party observer, according to Tolle. Not arguing BTW, just adding some context around how I understood it.

If you have internal locus of control, then you are inherently outcome independent I never put those two together like that, that's excellent. It makes sense that the inverse is also true: victim mentality (external LoC) is correlated to being Outcome Dependent (or lack of Outcome Independence). Great…

I was like you, OP. I did not have a habit of leaving the house or doing interesting things on my own, so it seemed strange at first to be absent from my family, especially without an explanation. I started small - "I'm going to the gym, be back later." Not a DEER, not asking for permission - but not going full retard and disappearing for several hours, as if I was trying to make a point. The goal is making an interesting life that gets you out of the house, not getting a response from our wives…

How do you overcome the slavery to feelings? By realizing that feelings have nothing to do with action. You'll have good days, bad days, and lots of average ones - but you move forward with your mission regardless of circumstances. It helped me when I learned that motivation comes after action, not before it. I'd make lists of what I wanted to accomplish for the day (with lifting at the #1 spot), then hold myself accountable. I'll sometimes set rewards too (if I finish X, then my reward is readi…

Thanks for this. You've described exactly how the day "gets away from me" when I don't prioritize what is important. Doing the right things to make tomorrow better. Discipline over 'self care' when it's an excuse for laziness. Waiting to "feel" motivation before acting - all traps to justify putting off what I know I need to do. It's the choices we make every day that add up to results.

Good journaling, good practice in saying 'no' and not DEERing. You're learning to not be impacted by your wife's emotions, which is crucial. Keep at it. One thing I noticed, after the spa invitation: “nah, I’ve eaten waaay to much, I’d be too embarrassed to go into them. Maybe I look like a giant fat guy right now” Why was that your response? At best, it was a self-deprecating joke. At worst, it was you fishing for a compliment from her. You got a bit of validation when she said you didn't look …

I'm almost walking again - I had surgery to put plates and screws into my leg after a bad break. First time in years that I haven't been in the gym. In the last couple of weeks I've been able to do light exercise and stretching on the floor of my bedroom. My 60DOD goal is to do this every day, so that I can ramp up to lifting again in the coming weeks.

I drink too much beer, and feel like shit because of it. Cutting back drastically will help me in all areas of my life and MAP. There will be a time to drink beer, that time isn't now. It's time to take care of some business. Awareness is good, but it's pointless without specific action. You're not saying "I will quit drinking for the next month" or even "I'll only drink x times per week" because you're not ready to be accountable to yourself (or us), so you're keeping it vague to give yourself …

I want you to take 30 days off from drinking. Address your resentment instead of numbing it with IPAs. You'll also see benefits in your fitness and mental clarity, and after 3 weeks you may have the desire to change your relationship with alcohol. If beer isn't a problem, then taking this brief break should be easy.

The comments from u/Cloudy_Pirate nailed it. Here's a couple thoughts I had while reading your exchange: Truth is if she did everything I wanted I'd probably still be miserable. You might be chasing "happiness" instead of "contentment." As I'm sure you know: Happiness is often based on outside circumstances, things that happen to us, and it's a fleeting emotion. I'm not sure we are supposed to be "happy" every day, so it may be a dangerous goal to chase. Contentment, on the other hand, comes fro…

(Ask me how I know!) How do you know? Because just like many guys here, I've made the same mistakes. And it tells me that your mouth is probably causing problems in other scenarios, more than just what you've outlined here. You'll find that the MRP sidebar is far different from TRP. Two of the first books you'll read (WISNIFG and NMMNG) deal with how and why you should be opening your mouth. Let's be honest: You opened your mouth about the Captain/First Mate dynamic BECAUSE it was being challenged by your fiance. Weed or not, you were reacting to her, trying to defend your position. This tells me that there is still a power struggle there. Instead of focusing on "how should I recover from this one fuck up", you should be focused on why that power struggle exists in the first place. How do we do that? Actions, not words. All the comments so far are great answers - let's take it a step further. "The Stay Plan is the Go Plan" means that YOUR mission doesn't change based on circumstances. It means that your actions don't change based on being single or in a relationship. Here's a good example: Imagine you became single today (for most of us, this means divorce.) That means it's time for the "Go Plan", right? What would your priorities be? For many guys, being newly single would mean their priorities shift back to l…

There are definitely times where it's appropriate to let yourself be interrupted - it can even be done from a place of frame and power, like the way we would allow a young niece to excitedly interrupt us. If we use dread as a temporary, secret punishment ("Well if you're not going to have sex with me, I'm going to flirt with the waitress in front of you") then it is probably more like a covert contract, because we're again waiting on our wives to tell us when we can stop "doing" dread. have a habit of just removing memories from my consciousness and I’ve uncovered a surprising amount I can relate. Keep digging, don't just put off things because they're uncomfortable to feel. In my case, I was sabotaging myself because I didn't really like that guy, I was angry at him. Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate. - Carl Jung

Even the shit tests mean that you're heading in the right direction. In particular I see that I’ve been missing opportunities like this. “Your arms are small. You spend so much time in the gym, but your arms are still small.” What will you say next time? I recommend "You're right - most of my gains are still going to my dick." Good shit this week man, keep at it.

Do I really need to start gaming other women and leaving the possibility open that I'd cheat on my wife if it means satisfying needs of mine that she isn't? No, you don't necessarily need to start gaming other women - but it is listed in the 12 Steps of Dread for a reason. You need to be an attractive, high-value man who could replace his woman with 5 more if he had to. Your wife needs to really know that you are capable of landing other women, that you could have options. None of those things m…

You know, it's almost comical. Much of the population is going to end quarantine fatter, more depressed, and more isolated than they started. It's perfect for anyone seeking a minor excuse to stay home and watch TV. Instead, you met more people than ever, learned profound things, upped your game and lost 25 pounds. Fuck yes my man. Hey u/sorcererking, here's your first candidate for dreadful flair.

I had to pause my LOTR marathon, but it was worth it to read your guide entirely. I kid, I wish I'd had a guide with this level of detail in my 20s. It's worth being able to do this naturally, but it takes a lot of practice for some of us. One thing I like about your notes, is that you consistently put the focus on giving value to the other person and recognizing their interests. You're not trying to brag, or be self-centered (at least directly), you're giving the other person a chance to talk a…

We've been spoiled by the #60DoD contributions this year, your post is no exception. A lot of good content I can relate to, especially since I was recently chatting with another guy here about how I find it hard to bond with typical guys. As you pointed out, that's on me, and so is making the circumstances to meet and develop friendships. Excellent post brother, thank you.

Exactly. Hell, I'm still learning that talking to clients is a lot like cold approaching a stranger. Overcoming objections in a client sale is literally a shit test 90% of the time. And the worst sales advice sounds really familiar (Always say Yes! Don't be confrontational. Answer every question that is asked of you. If you're really nice, clients will give you what you want.)

combination of discipline and practice. That struck a chord with me because I feel the opposite of that a lot of the time. Alcohol, junk food and lack of sleep are major contributors to that Hell yes, I'm glad you picked up on that. Hey, did you know I used to be a worthless drunk? Like, drinking to the point of blacking out every night for years and years. Going to AA and fucking hating it. And alcohol wasn't my problem, it was the symptom, just like you said. women know they have you on points 1 and 2 How can I be such a good man to my wife and kids, that she is the one dreading points 1 and 2? I've been asking myself that. We can never be so great that we overcome hypergamy, but I notice that my wife has a fear of loss, a fear of having to replace me. And her aversion to losing me does grow along with my value (our wives love to say they've always "loved us just the way we were", but their actions reveal which version they value more). I'm just thin…

Thanks for the insight, brother. The marriage/divorce debate is one I've been pondering for a while now. The kids are, at the end of the day, a DEER You're exactly right, although it took me a long time to realize that kids were another DEER. It sounds heartless, but it's not. There's nothing noble about staying together for the kids, it's just another excuse to put off conflict or accountability. Even though my relationship with my wife is the most lagging part of my life, it's still much impro…

Lose the wife no problem.. lose access to your kids.. major problem.. Yes, I have multiple kids with my wife. And I really, really want to keep seeing them every day. Hear that? I'm already talking like I'm negotiating for hostages. If you didn't have kids - would you stay? Would you even have to think about it for a second? your woman wants to have sex full of emotions, but not the kind that you think. This is where I struggled the most, and it's why I'm glad you focused on the Dominance aspect. jail seems a bit over the top for putting a fist through the wall Yeah, it was not fun. I'm thankful that I've never been tempted to lay a finger on my family - but the hole in the wall was enough to be considered Domestic Violence. I think I've told Blarg before, that Here's Your Example post in particular had a huge impact on me when I found mrp. issue with her competency, or with her effort for you? You know, I don't think I've considered this. There's a big difference there if my wife is already giving me her best, and I should treat that differently. It's a good point, because she knows my desires but doesn't meet them consistently - which seems like the kind of thing that might be addressed by just having a conversation about division of labor like you did. More important is the disconnect between value and appearance, which you talk about. If you don’t care and she does, her feelings will eventually trump your knowledge. This is why nagging works, it taps into the ambivalence of men. This is huge - I've never thought about it like that. Our ambivalence (or, the ability to be okay with Plan A or Plan B) is an asset, but it can come back to bite us if we allow her nagging to erode our decision. My girl fought it, for a while. +1 and saved to read again. I was shocked a few times, at how closely your experiences at home have matched mine. Lately I'm moving into new levels of Polarization and Authenticity, and your write up was timely in helping me peel back the curtain further. Good post, Horns.

aggressively paying down the mortgage (+$600/month) Awesome, this is a goal I want to get to once other debt is gone. I was talking to a buddy (with no debt and 7 figures in the bank) who gave me some advice. He said instead of paying that money directly to the mortgage company, let it accumulate in an account until you can pay the mortgage off in full. His logic was this: that extra cash you pay is lost (to you, for now) and doesn't lower your payments unless you recast or refinance. If you wan…

my wife and daughter are sick (the flu or something). But Im trying to be as fully beta as I can now they need it This is why the terms 'beta' and 'alpha' are lacking. It leads men to believe that care-taking (or cooking) are beta activities to be avoided, which is not true. It is also false to think that we need to alternate between 'beta' and 'alpha' behaviors based on the circumstances. It is true that we should be able to generate both attraction (alpha) and comfort (beta) in our relationshi…

Can you please elaborate what you mean by "dance", what would you have done differently in my situation? Dancing is a partnership, but still requires a leader. The leader initiates by taking the first step, and sets the expectation for what your partner should do next. Then it's up to your partner to follow, or not. A strong leader knows what steps he is going to take first, and a good partner will learn to follow your lead. Right now, your wife is leading, and you are reacting to her. Dancing i…

This is a dance, and you're supposed to be leading. Instead, every move you make is reactive to something that she does or says. Good news: your situation is so common, that books like NMMNG and WISNIFG were written for you explicitly. But you have to actually read them, and apply what they're saying to your …

I really wanted to ask her where our relationship was going... I kept hearing STFU, STFU, STFU! So that's what I did. I kept my mouth close This surprised me. I honestly thought you were going to tell us you spewed verbal diarrhea over your date lunch, but instead you recognized your weakness in the moment, and kept your mouth shut. Good job. You're wisely choosing to build a better future for yourself, rather than seeking instant gratification by talking about your emotions. This morning I said…

It didn't feel good to read this. Know why? Because it reminds me that my ego still hates Owning My Shit. That old, selfish ego still feels bad when I discuss the areas where I am failing, he doesn't want to admit and ask for help. That weak fuck has no room in our heads any more, so we kick ego in the balls every time we own our shit with purpose. It's a fine line between bragging and reporting objectively about what worked, too. I haven't found that line, so I may start erring on the side of o…

Once you have achieved congruence with who you are and what you want, you need to communicate it. This was very insightful for me, Cloud. Your reference to Polarization stood out to me the most. Does anyone have any tips to get your energy up quickly after waking up? I’m taking a pre-workout already. The biggest improvement I've seen to my morning energy levels came from cutting out caffeine entirely, which sucked because I love coffee, green tea and pre-workout supplements. Having zero caffeine did not do much to improve my sleep (still mediocre), but I wake up feeling much more alert, and days of miserably low energy are more rare. It is a VERY good idea to stfu, but most men in your position won't be able to do it. Instead they go Rambo and confront their wives, and it's usually before they've improved their own value. Swallow This: There's profound wisdom in this post, but most of the comments are still excuses from Men who are not finding success. This comment is for you. The Rules of Attraction cannot be negotiated. To educate yourself on attraction or seduction is good and fine. If you still aren't finding success with women, it's natural to wonder why. But to blame social media, dating apps, Society at large, feminism, or the success of other men with whom you are competing, is not only an excuse. It is a…

I don’t think there was anything obviously different about the way I carried myself clearly, she smelled something Smells like frame and a little dread to me, good man. I've experienced this also: I think I'm acting and appearing as usual, but something in my wife clicks as though she was responding to a different man. It's good that you're seeing that and chasing it. My wife used to be able to tell when I had spent time with another woman or even picked up a phone number - from the moment I wal…

it’s the “what the fuck am I still getting wrong? How can I do things better?” It’s wrong and it’s stupid and I know that and it’s a negative feedback loop. You are highly self-aware so I'm glad you caught this. We will yell at you to lift and dread and game your wife to get her to sleep with you, and most guys need to be told they should be going harder and it's their fault. That does NOT MEAN that you are guaranteed progress with your wife and like you said, it can become a self destructive ha…

Lots of good comments already, including some tough feedback for OP. It's very early to be calling out any wins but I want to highlight a couple of good things we can learn here: she said "I don't know! I just feel like you are judging me. I feel like you think I'm a loser!" I could have sworn I heard a hamster wheel. Correct! I think the hamstering is something like this: "An external force is causing me to feel insecure, because I'm getting warning signs that my lack of effort is not enough to…

The guys afraid to upvote this are, ironically, the most butthurt. I knew based on author and title that I was in for a good post, I was not disappointed and I'm looking forward to the next entry. I learned a ton and will be following this guide at least twice. We need more write-ups like this. Many of us have allowed porn (and lack of real-world experience) to shape our expectations. This is just excellent stuff, thank you brother! I can already tell you are right on. In fact, the "more" I've been lacking has been less taxing on my workouts, fallen into a plateau for most of the 5x5s and not hitting muscle failure nearly often enough. That and eaten really well but not enough to gain, and missing out on some key foods like eggs. I'm also tracking calories again, aimed for about 3200 in recent weeks. One of the things that changed how I view my mission was from TWOTSM: My mission can be just like the layers of an onion. To me, this means that my Mission does not have to start as a profound statement of my life's work. It does not need to encapsulate my highest calling and my life's most meaningful path right now, because it is ultimately disposable. I have found that by choosing to have a mission, (even a simple one), and replacing it (because it was either accomplished, or because I discard…

Checking in at 5'9" and 155 here, and dammit did I need this article. I'm guilty of every sin he lists, and my limited success lately has come from implementing a fraction of what he suggests, which I am realizing I need to keep following. OYS 25 The time for patience is over. When I am displeased, I have stopped saying "It's Okay, Baby" when I don't mean it. Just the absence of my usual smile has been enough to make her realize I am not happy. Instead of providing comfort first, I focused on what actions I needed next - accountability, in a loving way. OYS 24 MRP saves the man, not the marriage. Anything else is a Covert contract, usually wrapped around oneitis. The value that my wife provides for me is at an all-time low, and I have questions. I did not vet my wife for her character, I married her because we had kids. Zeppelin and the habit of pure self-interest are favorite topics of mine post-RP, and I learned a lot about both from /u/JDRoedell and his post. WOTSM has some ideas on mission that have helped me: Missions can be imperfect, shallow and/or disposable. Missions can be like the layers of an onion, each serving a purpose, but ultimately to be discarded in pursuit of the next one.

You really captured the types of thoughts that go through our minds when real change is taking place. Not just the new behaviors, but you nailed the mental shift that takes place behind those behaviors. Getting over her exes, killing the ego while leaning into the cocky admiration of your veiny neck, overcoming our own minds and addictions. Just excellent stuff, brother.

OYS #22 (60 DoD post 6) Mood: I've been focused on eliminating my anger and shitty mood, and saw some success this week. I've also been supplementing with b12 and using an artificial sunlight lamp during mornings at home. Keeping my ego in check is helping me get through some stressful times. Speaking of Ego: when I'm in a bad mood, or feeling butthurt, or horny - my brain craves the validation we'd get from a few quick swipes on tinder. OYS #21 (60 DoD post 5) I need to own some stupid shit: My mood has sucked. I've been allowing circumstances/stress/my own hamster to dictate my happiness. I've been quicker to get angry - and all signs point to my ego as the culprit. Subtle thoughts ('I shouldn't have to deal with this shit', 'If my family were more responsible, I wouldn't have to work so hard'). Fuck that. I'm the mountain. I've read these books recently Really? Thrn you know they recommend removing attention for behavior you dislike. Which of those books told you to use the "silent treatment" over the course of multiple days to punish your wife for her bad behavior? What would be 'winning' at this point - her apologizing? Even if your wife comes to you to apologize, she's doing it because you were acting like a little kid with your silent tantrum. This does not make panties wet. Reset Every Day. Every morning you …

It's helped me so much, sincerely. Catch And Release is like lifting weights for my frame. Early on, it forced me to confront my anxiety about approaching women (and strangers in general). I had to examine the excuses I was making to avoid being turned down - men will make exceptional excuses to cover up the fact that they are afraid to have their egos harmed by a random woman (a common excuse at MRP is "why would anyone game other women when they're happy?"). I used these approaches to try out …

Are you open and honest about where you go or do you just say "going out" and don't answer the question when you're home? Frankly, I do both - in balance. I started by just going out more, just making it normal that I can be out of the house pursuing my own interests, like gym/friends/motorcycles. Those things quickly became normal. Becoming more interesting and social meant that I was making plans that kept me out until after she went to bed, concernts and events. I never went Rambo ("fuck you,…

If this is a troll, it's brilliant. I track tons of stuff. I track every workout, and special notes about each movement. I use a journal to track my goals, monitor my progress and look back on how I've developed. In my head, I track my overall happiness level and if I'm keeping my ego in check. Many men (myself included) have used the OYS threads to track their progress in SMV/career/frame etc and keep themselves accountable. Noticing a trend?

This post belongs in TRP. Too many of these words are devoted to explaining the nature of women, why they are bad and will make your life bad if you let them. A lot of language trying to be inspirational, bold fonts and 10,000 words to say: "ego is bad, be stoic"? This is not a field report, nothing new is added here. If anything, it takes away from the self-work that needs to be done by distracting with false ideas: that women are the enemy, or that anything we're doing is reactionary to them. …

I know this, because you're not here asking "How do I lift in spite of this injury?" You're asking for permission to slack off, and you'll find that sympathy here I'm sure. Comments here are already a mixed bag. One thing we all agree on is the sidebar, your TRM reading is a good start, what will you be reading next? We have a saying here that has helped me: "The Stay Plan Is The Go Plan". If your marriage ended today (the Go plan), how would you live? You might lift a lot more, advance your soldier career, finally do that shit you've been putting off, find a way to flirt with girls over social media. Now take that same plan and apply it your wife (the Stay plan). …

This right here is what matters, OP. I also notice that you're not saying "I've changed it" (ego and Rambo) or "I'm going to change it" (bragging about what hasn't been done). This is a great question, OP. MRP is still a sexual strategy, so the focus on developing men is not what sets it apart. What sets MRP apart for me is the focus on CONGRUENCE. Not only in appearance (PUA and to an extent TRP), but actually building an authentic man from the inside out, silently doing the thankless work and strangling your ego at the door. No shortcuts, so soft place to land: and only the smart ones realize this is the secret handshake to the boys club. At some point, MRP stops be…

He deleted his comment. Shame, because it's the finest example of white-knighting faggotry that I've seen in a while. Did you actually just play down someone raping a woman because of her sexual preferences? If she consents in any way, it isn’t rape. If it was something that she didn’t want, she was literally raped/sexually assaulted. You might want to rethink your perspective...

Fucking phenomenal post. There is a lot to chew on here. I've struggled with what you describe - the reverse engineering of a goal, which usually ends up being what I thought I wanted at that time. And like going to the gym, we should end up falling in love with the process of becoming better. Your points on authenticity were spot on and gave me a lot to think about. She is giving starfish... I'd take it Exactly - we "take it" as a substitute, an obligation, a consolation prize instead of REAL sex. We need to remember that these women are capable of sweaty, hot fucking - but we haven't elicited that when they're giving us starfish. By refusing to accept that, we speak volumes about our abundance, SMV and OI. (Caveat for Rambo: It's probably not a good idea to turn down sex if you're 2 months into your MAP, or early in Dread levels)

Solid FR. One of your best points came right at the end: It takes time to change yourself and even longer to change your mindset. Once you change, everyone else changes in their interactions towards you - hence, worry about yourself So many posts asking how to perfectly respond to a wife, kid, boss etc. When the right question should be exactly what you pointed out - How do I need to improve myself first? Respect, like attraction, can't be negotiated.

If you're waiting for the guilt to hit you, you'll be waiting a long time. Nietzsche said "Morality is cowardice." He's not bashing anyone for being moral, but pointing out that fear is often the true motivation for moral behavior. This is also classic Nice Guy logic: that behavior is BAD and you should feel BAD and be AFRAID of the consequences. Are you a scumbag? I don't know. Hey brother, it's great that you are giving back. I do not have experience with NMMNG groups either, but one of my first thoughts was the generally Blue Pill nature of these types of groups. You'll have your work cut out for you, in order to keep it from becoming a victim-puke, bitch fest. It sounds like you are in a position to set and keep the tone from becoming that. I'd be curious to know how it goes, and especially if you see any changes in the guys who are ready for it.

Level 12. Adopt a child I laughed, thinking this quote from u/Tebulus was clever satire. I followed the link and discovered it is a verbatim quote, no shit. From the same list: Lead Level 4. Clean everything first. Find out what she likes to do without you. Help her do that.

Why? Because mommy is gonna get mad? ... think about who actually has ownership over your bullet points. Bullseye. In the past, I was afraid of making my wife angry. I thought I'd left that behind but obviously not. You hit on something here that I wasn't aware of, that my post (and life) had drifted into my wife's frame (and fear of her anger). Time to calibrate. Remember that the 28 year old hasn't seen you be a total fuckwit for the past 10 years. Imagine how unattracted she'd be if you were …

I think there's a lot of value in this post, and I'm surprised it doesn't have more upvotes. Magic is intentional deceit, for the benefit of the audience. What a solid metaphor for TRP - it's a tool, and it's amoral. OP has made it clear that this is a supplement to his dread game, not a replacement for it. After reading this, I realize my wife rarely sees me chatting with other women. I have been enjoying only the passive dread that she can 'smell' afterwards, like OP describes. I can do more a…

OYS Week 5 TL;DR - Quick and dirty OYS this week - doing this to keep myself accountable. After building for months, the dread has finally begun to settle into my wife's brain. Shit tests about other women are nearly daily. My level of attraction to wife has dropped off, I have not been trying to initiate sex. I am finally starting to see true Outcome Independence - I am happier than I've ever been, even as my wife is making vague threats about divorce (as is usual). I am intentionally focusing …

OYS Week 4 TL;DR - Walked away in the middle of a BJ from the wife last night. Dread is way up, but it's not clear if my wife is willing to be First Mate. I'm gaming other women, and have a potential side girl. My relationship with side girl is entirely in my frame, she never knew me in my beta days. I missed last week's OYS. No excuses. I am still making progress in my finances, career and reading, so I'll cover those in another OYS post. Sex: Last night, I walked away in the middle of a BJ. It…

Drop the 'next wedding' joke, absolutely, without question. In this speech, you're allowed to make fun of 2 things - yourself, and your buddy the groom AFTER you've made fun of yourself. Jokes at the expense of the bride or anyone else are advanced shit. After you introduce yourself, thank everyone for joining to celebrate the happy couple. Use "we" instead of "I" to make yourself a part of the larger group ("we are so happy for you both") An easy open is to acknowledge how lovely the bride look…

To pursue my interests within the context of my obligations I had the same goal. Then I realized, I was adding caveats to my goals ("within my obligations", "as best I can given my schedule") as excuses-in-advance. Especially as excuses for not doing what I knew I should be doing, when it was highly incongruent with my state at the time.

OYS Week 2 35 yrs old, married for 6. Unplugged 4 months ago. Finances: I'm failing at this. Pre-MRP, I let my wife start paying the bills. I hated the pressure and thought it might teach her to be more responsible. I'm not in a position where I need to ask for permission to handle our finances, although I didn't realize that until I started typing this sentence. Fuck that. Thanks for letting me know about the 1.5x speed option - that is really, really helpful, especially at the end of WISNIFG. Another tip for guys wanting audio books, I went to cancel Audacity after my free trial (you have to do this on the desktop site). They offered me increasingly discounted membership, until I finally got 6 months for like $15, just to use it for MRP books (especially those that I don't want a hard copy of).

WISNIFG includes a lot of Blue Pill ideas, including marriage counseling. NMMNG recommends talking to your spouse about the book. If you're unsure what parts of those books we don't agree with, it's probably because you need to lurk more. As long as YOU are learning how to recognize manipulation and avoid it by reading these books, your question about Right and Wrong can be addressed later.

You have way too much anxiety to even consider 'getting numbers'. I wasn't clear. I get the numbers, my questions are about what (if anything) is next. Also, you're not making sense, how is this going to 'up the dread' if you're hiding it from your wife? Passive dread, like buying new underwear. After I've been around an attractive woman, my wife can smell it a mile away. Maybe it's my confidence, or subconscious cues, or pheromones - whatever it is, it inspires actual dread in my wife and (alon…

Your goal is to be able to talk to other humans ... with confidence and charisma ... to know you know how to talk to random women in a way that shows you're a confident, masculine man... in future interactions which will likely include your wife. Nailed it. I open everyone, I just don't ask for numbers from the old lady on the elevator. And since talking to humans is the goal, there may not be much to gain from anything beyond Catch and Release.

On Married Red Pill we are also saying Don't go Rambo and turn it on or off. Move the dimmer switch a bit in the desired direction and do it slowly and with some finesse and without the autism. YES! A common rule of thumb from MRP is that the gradual change should take one month for every year of beta-ness in the relationship. Single guys should probably follow the same rule.

Welcome. saying "Of course Im attractive," because that is not what this about False - looks matter, a great deal, to women at all points of the dating/marriage game. If you're a good looking guy, you know in your gut that women treat you differently. that is what a husband should do And yet, every day we hear the same story from broken men: "I did everything my wife ever wanted. I don't understand why she is leaving/cheating/etc." It seems counter-intuitive, but if there's a 'positive change" to come from this, it will be your husband learning that emotional vomiting gets him nowhere. That is called self-respect, and your husband's here to get some.

+1 for your excellent responses. Being stuck in a rut (or a series of bad days, whatever) is not discussed often enough. Like you said, the rut will often pass on its own in a week or two, and "fake it till you make it" is going to be the prescribed advice. That said: Lift more? Fucking yes. What are the tactics One of the only things that has helped me in a 'rut' like you describe: I change SOMETHING. In my experience, it doesn't matter what I change, as much as it matters that I am intentional in disrupting my normal routine. Could be as simple as wearing different clothes to work, but there is something about changing myself or my environment that seems to help me snap out of, say, a series of bad days at work. *edit for formatting
