What are you talking about. That sounds really shitty. I get girls just fine with no manipulation. I don't think you know a lot about manipulation.

manipulating social proof just sounds creepy. I didn't say it was a bad thing, I'm talking about the reality of the situation.

It kind of seems like OP is using the people at the bar and not genuinely their friend. Soon any girl that OP sees for long will realize this is not OP's regular life, and it's just one bar he goes to a lot.

I wouldn't, it's really fucking stupid to generalize women, especially with your example lol

haha that awkward moment when guys get so wrapped up in stupid dating advice and men's rights that they think using examples like "Women are falling in love with men on death row, with murderers and psychopaths; Rihanna gets back with her abusive boyfriend (I suppose most of us know similar cases in our own lives); and this guy is trifling us about the difference between aggression and assertiveness." is a good way to generalize the entire female population.

Roissy always takes one thing, twists it, and then puts his backwards sad logic to it. He makes some cool points, provides some cool data, and then shits all over himself with how awesome he thinks he is.

Actually, yes, the market has been shrinking. You can learn a lot of these principles without all the creepy stuff. More guys are going in that direction. Much less money is made every year by the PUA industry and it will continue like that.
/r/seduction02/07/12 05:32 PM

"The PUA industry is growing at a really big rate and markets are taking notice and creating more businesses to serve the market." hahahahaha this isn't true at all. It's been shrinking for a while. Just because a lot of people come in and flood the "coaching" scene doesn't mean there is any more demand. MOST PUA coaches are struggling hard and using dishonest marketing to try and catch up.

I don't think the guy said the people were criminal. I'm sex positive. I'm also trust positive, loyalty positive, ect.

I think a lot of guys are just turned off by the idea the kind of girl that would cheat.
/r/seduction18/06/12 06:01 PM

The best part is how all these people went off on him for saying "one step above criminal" and then started talking about how it isn't criminal. Reading comprehension for the lose.
/r/seduction18/06/12 04:19 PM
2

I think the poster said it was just above criminal, which means that it wasn't quite but is still pretty shitty. Your attitude is just as oft putting if not worse so I don't know why you are talking about losers. Do you think you are super cool and can put other people down because maybe you get some girls now?

Or you know, a guy with standards for the kind of women he decides to sleep with. I guess if you are at the point in your life getting your dick wet is the most important thing to you enjoy those girls lol. Like, sure you can do it. There is nothing wrong with you doing it per say. Still though, I don't cheat so I prefer girls that don't cheat.

I didn't twist what you said, I just asked if that's what you really think is best. People don't need the entire field of PUA. They just need a few basic fundamentals and maybe a friend to push them out of their comfort zone. Imo. In furtherance, I always think of it like this. Plenty of guys learned to do this without pick up. They weren't necessarily good from the start. They just went out and tried and learned what worked best for them. Whenever I have a question myself I ask myself "What wou…

You really think the best thing for a guy to do is read rather than just go out and start talking to people? I would say the complete opposite. I'd say go find some things you likes (the gym, climbing, pick up basketball, ect) and do some cold approaching for girls and don't read a damned thing. That's just me though.

I generally take a girl telling me she has a boyfriend as a sign of disinterest. Maybe she does, maybe she doesn't, why is she telling me if I haven't asked though? Even if she is trying to put up an "obstacle" for me to knock down, I'm not trying to knock obstacles down... Picking up a girl should be easy and if it's not I get disinterested really quickly. I'm not trying to try hard to get a girl. Either we click or we don't, I don't try and invent it. That being said, sometimes a girl might te…

Seddit isn't strictly a PUA community as far as I can tell. I thought I was a PUA for a long time until I just realized I was a normal guy trying to get better with himself. PUA objectifies your social life and love life. As for my opinion, what isn't egotistical about it? You don't get to decide if she is better or not. It's arrogant of you to decide that she is better off for knowing you. Only she can. Can you imagine a guy saying "every girl that's met me and I've been with has been better of…

Are you aware of how egotistical the "always leave her better than you found her" premise is? It's absolutely crap, although it's a beautiful thought... Anyway, if you are disgusted and personally offended by what the article says about the PUA community, you haven't been in the PUA community long enough IMO. Most people in the community after a long time realize how unhealthy the community is for the most part. At the end of the day, I don't consider the people coming at this stuff from a healt…

Yeah I guess I just have a huge problem with people using the word "alpha" because it's nearly impossible to put 10 people in a room together and get a definition. If that's the case, why not just explain what you mean by alpha instead of using the world alpha ever.
/r/seduction12/06/12 05:55 PM
1

I think it's more that alpha males are created more by situations. Animals adapt. We had alpha males when it made sense. It doesn't make as much sense now. Certainly there are guys that have alpha traits but it's not very common for men to roam around killing, hunting, eating, raping, ect. We have evolved. I'm not saying this is completely true, but I am saying putting things in the terms of "alpha" and "beta" is outdated at best, harmful many times at worst.
/r/seduction12/06/12 05:44 PM

Being an alpha male in a tribe of monkeys is certainly not a made up concept. Humans, although monkeys, are incredibly more complex. Using the term alpha is a gross oversimplification and is more mentally masturbatory than it is accurate. We have a much broader spectrum of emotions that our monkey ancestors, never mind what you said about the simple thought process. If it's difficult to accurately define it's a pretty shitty term to use. If alpha males do exist, can you name a few 100% cases of …

The whole don't let you know you want her thing is mostly crap imo. Girls, especially in the US aren't used to direct honesty and being directly honest while being confident will put you apart from 99.9% of men. Escalation itself is attractive because it shows you are bold, confident, and direct.

I mostly never play games anymore. Games put up barriers that I don't feel the need to create. When a girl plays games it's a turn off.
/r/seduction12/06/12 03:47 PM
1

Yeah it definitely has it's utility, it's just such a broad over generalized term. I think it can cause almost as much harm as it does good. Better examples and roll models are needed, at least imo. We can only do our best as individuals though and can't get too caught up in what we can't control. I find myself still making that mistake from time to time.

Yeah, I mainly worry about the guys that get stuck in these mindsets. I know they aren't mine to worry about but there just seems to be a much healthier path in my opinion that could lead them to happier lives. I shouldn't let it frustrate me like it does.

Thank you. Thank you for existing x100. So many guys spend all their time over intellectualizing this stuff thinking it's a game of learning when it's really just a game of emotional development. Not that it's a game, but I think you get what I'm saying. It's sad how long guys spend spinning their wheels trying to become "more alpha" and "less beta" when the entire process of worrying about all that stuff is "beta" which is really just a term for being a guy that can't see his own truth. Yeah I mean I feel bad for guys that feel like they have to be douche bags and try and leave them to themselves. I only reserve my douchy responses for guys that I just feel need a little return on theirs. It's mostly when they are putting other people down and stuff that I'll step in. I could give no fucks what someone says to me personally. I just hate seeing someone ruining someone else's time and tend to act accordingly.

Thanks, Mark has been in a private group I joined a few years back and has helped me out a lot. I've read a lot of other advice and it all just rubs me the wrong way. I'm basically a PM evangelist now and I make no apologies for my fanboyism but at the same time I should contribute more of my own personal stuff and you are right to say so. I in fact threw you an up vote because you are right. It's actually the second time I've heard this, the first time being a few months ago.

I've always found emotional connection to be the most important part of the process. Guys will argue that all sorts of games, tricks, and frames will be what wins you a girl but in reality connection is what girls crave, even if it's just a one night stand. If you are the guy that can create emotional connection you will win out over the guys who are busy trying to do 12 other things a vast majority of the time. You will also be more likely to get the girls with high self esteem. Edit: What am I…

The Founding Fathers were worried about the British because they were rebels fighting a violent war. Don't you think there is a slight disparity between the two?

Not to be that guy but.... http://postmasculine.com/the-pain-period It's basically the point in anything where doing it hurts and or is frustrating. The beginning is usually where you feel the most pain because you don't know what you are doing, you are out of your comfort zone, you haven't developed the "muscles" to do the "lifting" you are attempting.

I think it's hard to say that someone is completely NOT confident. Confidence is hard to measure and you can be super confident in say the classroom or public speaking but not be with women or cocktail parties. These fake alpha males might be confident they can sleep with a lot of women, but not confident in themselves.
/r/seduction07/06/12 05:07 PM
1

I would argue that working on yourself and your lifestyle is more important that making random approaches for practice. If you do those first two things women will end up in your life and all you have to do is take advantage of the great opportunities that are presented to you.
/r/seduction07/06/12 04:58 PM

I used to always tell girls I was a PUA then I realized I wasn't a PUA at all. I'm just a guy that wants to improve himself and his dating life. I happened to find some of the tools in the PUA community. Luckily my group decided PUA wasn't our direction and went more in the men's lifestyle design direction.

Hey man, if asking people who make bold scientific claims for scientific evidence and telling them their word of mouth explanations for such bold claims aren't good enough for me, I'm an idiot. Also, you didn't even read what happened completely before firing off your first huge response that was pretty condescending lol.

I actually said "where is the scientific evidence to back that up" or something of the sort twice. I was called an idiot a few times about that. I didn't try and make any point for a while, except that they were just running their mouths. I don't think there was any attack if you read me the first few times. Thanks though. How is it like talking to a wall when this is actually the first time youv'e cited anything besides your Reddit account as information. At not a single point in what you shared did it agree with the fact that the only things we know in life are learned after we are born, or even prenatally. Read it again if you want. From my male experience, growing up as a male and talking with hundreds if not thousands of men throughout my life, a lot of guys (especially young) call girls sluts and whores all the time. It's pretty popular in young males to use words like this. Even if you aren't doing it all the time, I hear it slip all the time. Even if you aren't using the words the attitudes are prevalent all the time.

Non existent rape culture? I see it all the time. People have some messed up attitudes about rape. Not only do a lot of "PUA's" (lol) have unhealthy attitudes towards women in general, especially early on, but a lot of men on earth have the same issues.

"PUA's"... I'm going to get so sick of hearing that word so fast around here. Whatever. This is a problem that is going on all over Earth. Not with some sub culture of men that want to get laid more, although there is definitely a much higher sample of men with unhealthy mindsets about women that come through these "halls". As men that wish to meet and know more women in our lifetimes we should also take note of what this girl has to say so we can help change what is going on, because it's bad a…
