Sex dolls probably only make up a tiny fraction of sex toys sold b How much of that is based on the price barrier?

Were sexual assault, theft, fraud, or voyeurism proved? That's not even the discussion. You said... Except for the blackmail count, the remainder do seem thought crimes; most of his "guilt" consisted of the "misogyny" of puffery. I'm calling you out because... I simply disagree with folks painting a picture of the evil wife pushing him into it. She asked him She asked him No, she didn't ask him. She told him. She demanded. She behaved as if she was entitled to this, like it was never his choice to begin with. One does not earn the right to another's free will. And when he had doubts, what did she do? Guilt him. She was "extremely disappointed" in him. If you don't think a wife and mother of your three kids can wear you the fuck down with emotional abu…

Here's a debate. She made a choice. If she wasn't comfortable doing it, she could've said no. She didn't. Her choice to get an IUD has no bearing on whether or not he should shoulder the burden of surgery.

Has there ever been a case where a woman has kidnapped the baby and dropped it off without the father's consent? http://kdvr.com/2015/11/22/dad-says-baby-put-up-for-adoption-without-permission/

Discussing the financial burden is fair though. No matter how you look at it, this is legal maternal surrender. There is no equivalent. Who's going to pay for this baby? If not the mother and/or father, then the state (ergo taxpayers). IIRC you can also already do this at a fire station. This new option just makes it easier to be unseen so you're not embarrassed.

'He was lying unconscious on the floor. You then armed yourself, I am sure for the purpose of stabbing Mr Miller in the face, because - once again - you had lost your temper completely. Ehh... I edited the above post to reflect that. I hadn't read the whole thing but skimmed through it.

The biggest load of shit in all of this is assuming that the richer a parent gets, the more they'll shower their kid with money. If you want to be frugal and teach your kid how to respect money? Nah, fuck you for being a deadbeat. Nevermind that a child doesn't cost nearly as much as some of these payments we're seeing. If the previous amount is sufficient, increasing it is just cruel.

repressed bottled up feeling end up turning to fight fuel inorder to make you better your position That depends on the outcome. Getting beat down all day every day and having no release can make a pliable, healthy "skin" into leather. It's thick, but also dull, weathered, and resistant to change. And maybe you do make something good out of it. Maybe you manage to divert it into something useful that you can be proud of. The chances of you coming out of it still good-natured are slim. the only real valid reasons a guy should cry in my opinion I'm going to have to strongly disagree with you. If I could cry more when I feel sad or lonely, I could get the emotional release I strongly seek. Instead, it gets bottled up until someone points it out and suddenly I fall apart unexpectedly. People should be able to cry when they feel really sad without fear of being made jest.

The court offered her a plea deal. That's not evidence against my argument at all, history will show. Then there's the legal definition of a sex offender in her state (Texas), which I amended to my previous comment. tl;dr She's a sex offender, even if she doesn't have to register as one (though she should have to).

That doesn't qualify her as a sexual predator That depends on whether or not a sex offense has been committed, which is arguable based on her position of authority over her sexual partner. If a person too stupid to know better accepts a sexual relationship out of fear of reprisal, does the aggressor in this situation qualify as preying sexually on the subordinate? I'd say it's an argument meriting investigation. Inconclusive but not impossible. edit: She's a sex offender. PENAL CODE TITLE 5. OFF…

School bus drivers radio in 911 calls. They don't handle those themselves because it's inefficient and easily interrupted if a threat attacks them. Dispatch is already contacting the authorities and they're already on the way. This is standard procedure.

more of a race issue than gender issue Honestly, I'm not so sure. It's more to do than anything with this kid having no friends and being a boy. If it were a black boy hitting on a white girl, he'd be getting shit for it too. If she was fat and ugly, there might be an exception. There is some racial dynamic at play, but it seems minor and not pivotal.

Yes. It's horribly sexist. "Men are responsible both for causing and preventing gender violence." The statement itself is technically correct out of context, but the previous statement Approach gender violence as a men's issue. makes clear the intent. Approach it as a men's issue, not a human issue. It's a problem for men, specifically, to solve.

what assumptions would one have to make for Whistle-blower protection to be considered an Oxymoron Fallacy. Still just a paradox. Goodnight. Fuck outta 'ere!
/r/MensRights09/01/16 01:41 AM

It isn't really something that can be argued. I was making a point. You can argue whether or not whistle-blowers are "protected" or not, but you can't whether it's an Oxymoron or not. Another semantic argument! There exists a contradiction between those two terms. Not innately and especially not in the context I gave. In the context of Snowden, it is a paradox because the branch of government tasked with enforcing the law and protecting him is instead prosecuting him for those very same actions.…

No. A few things: The Establishment can be made up of many parts. Uncorrupt parts seeking to expose corruption from within and root it out does not imply self-betrayal. As such, neither does whistleblowing necessarily imply such a betrayal by the individual; "By the People, For the People" suggests that whistleblowing is actually in the interest of the Establishment, whether you encounter resistance or not. The female guards are right to complain about their working conditions because they are unequal and it is unfair and dangerous. The cause, however, is likely not what they'd expect. The obvious flipside is every male guard being accused of sexual assault each time a female prisoner is frisked (and the resulting social media outcry). It's a shitty situation these women are in and it's other women that put them there. I'd love to see this play out.

They want to be Muslims in Germany or Sweden. Fixed that for you. Even that they didn't choose, but they're brainwashed enough to think it's what they want. Maybe they would otherwise, maybe they wouldn't. Regarding their choosing their nationality, they certainly do. I don't remember getting to pick "American" when I was born. No, that was decided for me, as was my birth. That's enough to get me drafted, though luckily I was born after the last act of conscription in the U.S.

They're running away from their country, not willing to fight for it. They never got to choose their nationality, there's the problem. Maybe it's not their fight. Condemning them to death by combat isn't somehow noble, it's just slaughter. What's the point if you're not willing to fight. Survival.

I don't think the writer of the article is either this is far from the first time I’ve seen a woman presented as a sex object rather than as a character with a personality and a sense of humor and agency I dunno about that. The entire article is a fucksy way of saying "sexism is bad" and "I love R. Mika" at the same time, while dodging buzz words most of the time to lure people into a more agreeable state. Honey, as it were.
/r/MensRights02/09/15 03:29 PM

The writer likes the character's core concept. It seems completely arbitrary And very much not sexism. That's the point. So, this a top 5 favorite character who's only been in one game since this new one is coming up? Yes. It's been almost 20 years since she's been a playable character. So was Gen. So is Birdie. And Rolento. And so on and so forth, this is not a new trend.

Sure, but asking for more development isn't crazy. Why does Mika specifically need it? What makes her special and more deserving than other cast members with limited appearances? Mika apparently wasn't developed enough to become a fan favorite. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/jan/02/street-fighter-5-poll-results-find-out-which-characters-eventhubs-readers-most-want-see-playable-capcoms-upcoming-fighter/ Top 5: Alex Q Karin Urien R. It skews the conversation and obfuscates (I love this word) the bigger issue that might be causing this, the negative bias that courts and prisons have towards males. If the discrepancy wasn't so absolutely overwhelming, I'd agree with gender-neutral terms, but in this case all it does is cloud us from talking about the real issue: why is there such a disparity?

It would be far easier though if Mike just stated more clearly what he meant: "Custody hearings should always start at a 50/50 baseline, which they currently don't. Before considering all other factors, each parent should start at 50% custody, then let the courts work their way to an arrangement that works best for the parents and the children." Transcript: Thousands of men suffer in silence after war zone rape ^Katie ^Gibbons A reluctance to act from the "highest levels" means that international aid organisations are failing thousands of male victims of sexual violence in conflict, experts say. As scores of delegates gathered in London yesterday for the second day of a conference to discuss ways of ending wartime sexual violence, humanitarian workers criticised the international community for ignoring male victims…

I was banned for suggesting that MRAs bringing up male rape statistics was, in my experience, about awareness and advocacy and not about derailing or victimhood flag-waving. Might as well be /r/CircleSchlick or something, I guess. I'm glad there are people like you, though. I feel like we would get along very well.

It's more a game of gains than anything else, I think. Give someone an opportunity to self-victimize and offer no advantage, they won't bother. But give them something to achieve through that effort and masses will flock to it as often as possible. Sometimes, there's truth to it. Doesn't matter though, it's hustling most of the time you see it, which makes us weary about those who intend to use their struggles to teach and not exploit, as they're harder to recognize. As far as women go, we're al…

Maybe I should've referenced the plethora of girl-themed fighting games coming out of Japan. Maribato, Glove-On Fight, and Asuka 120% are a good start. It's a tradition. MLP uses the same successful formula that anime has been using for the last few decades, so it's no surprise to me at all.

The problem with the documentary was that people don't realize we're talking about obsessive people who were going to fill their lives with merchandise of one kind or another, whether it be ponies or bishoujo figurines. feminisms ideology Feminism is an ideology. If there was any ideology to describe TRP, MGTOW is the only thing I think would fit. trapped you If you had overwhelming evidence that the sub and its users supported and perpetuated misogyny, I wouldn't be arguing with you. they're trying to avoid being subject to unchecked abuses Specifically this. In the few lurkings and discussions I've had in TRP, this was the one thing everyone seemed to agree upon. It's like a young kid taking boxing lessons: the point isn't to beat people up because you're strong now, but to protect yourself from the bullies wo would otherwise exploit you.

red pill blatant misogyny Your folly here is assuming that TRP ascribes to any one ideology, or is in unison with almost anything at all. That's not the point of their existence, more importantly. They encourage taking salt with everything and finding your own path, but strongly resist progressivism's acidic nature to equality. Yes, their association can be harmful, but I'd say that's as much their fault as are thieves to people who share their skin color.

I'm not going to downvote you because I think I understand what you mean. It's a bit confusing, but the operative term is the gender mentioned. Trans meaning transitioned-into and their gender after the transition, so a trans-man has/had lady parts and a trans-woman has/had man parts.
/r/MensRights26/01/14 05:51 PM

Not necessarily. If women are typically conditioned to rationalize their own aggressive behavior, hand-in-hand they'll typically have a harder time controlling their own violent urges.
/r/MensRights24/01/14 02:47 PM

it is important to restrict the term rape to instances where male victims were penetrated by offenders So...some chick riding your face or sticking your genitals in her mouth while you're passed out isn't rape if you have a penis? She'd have to penetrate you with a phallic object first? The fact that any considerable number of people agree with this scares me.

The gel breaks up sperm that pass through the vas deferens, making you functionally sterile while it's in you. Correct, it does last 10 years. The procedure takes under an hour, snipping open your scrotum and injecting this gel into your vas deferens, and you're given a couple of stitches and a bandage, healed in a week or so. Reversing the procedure is done by following the exact same steps while injecting a mixture of baking soda and water, 100% effectiveness for both procedures.

It's no indication that they agree with it, just that it sounds ridiculous and is therefore funny. Plenty of other over-the-top themes make it through just fine, and if these songs were about stiffing men we'd here nothing of it. tl;dr Tightwads with a victim complex may find this offensive.

There are NO housewives who are unpaid. Well your rent and board is covered, but that's it. The breadwinner pays all their bills, pays for their activities, vacations, everything. Ever had a stay-at-home nanny? Their allowance comes from the money you pay them, minus their housing/utilities costs.

Her being a housewife has no relevance here Not exactly. Think of her as an unpaid nanny. I think that's the right stance to take when considering alimony in these cases. There should be some support, provided that she takes steps to actively enter the workforce, but it should reflect the state average for her remaining family unit at best, not the income of the breadwinner. People don't owe anything to their betrayers. Here I can agree completely.

Since I don't see that as the case (having read nothing but this), it seems wildly inappropriate. You don't get better at something just because you're an asshole, unless that something is being obtuse.

What does that even mean? Besides being an utterly meaningless ad-hominem attack? You're bitter about your own past experiences, clearly. The problem here is that you refuse to look at the situation through a lens that isn't affected by your own bias. I understand that completely, but you need to understand how that taints the conclusions you draw. You're letting your emotions get the best of you, and it's causing you to become quite toxic. Projecting is when you push your own shortcomings onto …

What does that even mean? It's just vague meaningless bullshit that people offer up after they refuse to take an honest look at themselves. Doesn't tell us anything. I had this happen to me all throughout my freshman year of high school. I spoke up once, "Why do you keep grabbing my ass?" "Because I want to!" Having never been desired by an attractive girl, I enjoyed the ego boost. Still, I wasn't sure how I felt about it.
/r/MensRights08/08/13 03:09 AM

Judging from the article, I see no gender-specific expectations from the submitting reader. He loves her more than she loves him, they lack chemistry but he insists on winning her back (that's my interpretation based on his actions) and she's adamant about him not spending his money on her and doing nice things towards that end. So again, I don't see how this is relevant. Looks like OP is just conflating a non-issue of a decent person looking for love.
/r/MensRights08/08/13 02:53 AM

About.com has a good resource here that goes over a number of the issues. I agree with your assessment though, our current social structure requires two archetypes for the best results, but doesn't discriminate based on sex. The problem is parents thinking that they can be the breadwinner and both archetypes at the same time. Anyone who's watched a kid manipulate his parents knows this doesn't really work (I watched a 2-year-old do this consistently for weeks). AFAIK, most single parents have to…

This is precisely the point I'm trying to make, so thanks for reiterating it. It's very important to remember that Obama is a very smart speaker, so he'll often structure his words very carefully so as to allow some wiggle room, such as this here. While he might actually agree with the assumption made by OP, his speech muddles it too greatly for that conclusion to be reached reasonably.

The statement on its own is actually far less bad, but it importantly shifts the focus onto what really matters: that the President is still citing this statistic as factual. I'm sure he and his cabinet don't actually know that it's fake, and I'm sure plenty of people in Washington lobby to keep that from changing. It's not an excuse, but reality; I don't see any malice in it, but I do agree that he (along with most politicians) needs to be educated.

Granted, a gender swap wouldn't make it past the greenlight (unless maybe he dies at the end or something), but it seems pretty clear that they're going overboard. Arguing against this film is like saying "Gamer" glorifies video game violence and murder, which is perfect for someone who's never actually seen the film. I'll watch this movie sometime this week and give a more thorough analysis.

From what I've gathered, having been an MRA for just a few months now, the mission of the MRM doesn't need cannon fodder. So neither was it already part of the plan to exploit you for political gain, nor would we be interested in doing so. Everything we fight for can be supported with principles, evidence, and observation alone.

I myself am pro-choice, but I respect OP's right to have an opinion and share it. Being pro-life isn't necessarily anti-woman, though it is a thin line between the two, based on what you do and why you do it. The two are almost mutually inclusive, at least as far as practice goes.

the hilarious irony is that feminists are now becoming chauvinist and demanding double standards rather than equality while their hypocritical ideology comes back to bite them in the ass. 1. they want equality and independence, but still demand the men pay for everything. In fact, the whole idea of men paying for everything 60 years ago was because women would repay the men in other ways (not sex) such as cooking a nice big meal in thanks for all those free dinners and drinks, as well as doing o…

A parent should earn a lot more than a stupid manager. Except that anyone can be a parent, anyone can raise kids, and almost anyone can have kids, but not everyone can lead. Being a good parent is a tough job, sure, but it's far from being the hardest job in the world. Men need feminism. Feminism is for everyone. or Women need Men's Rights. Men's Rights is for everyone. Both of the above statements are fine and indeed true. As for the images you linked... When you claim to speak for all humans (which is what feminism tries to say, unlike the MRM) This is another example of a straw man, if I'm not mistaken. As far as I understand, neither movement claims to speak for all humans as such a thing would be impossible, and the only feminists fighting to abolish the MRM don't deserve the title. You have the right weapon and the right ammo, but you're pointing at the wrong target.

Feminism by definition requires belief in the patriarchy theory. As far as Western feminism is concerned, I still don't see this as fact. edit: Also, that declaration of a requirement in support of patriarchy theory seems nothing more than a straw man, perhaps unintentional.

And those were very different times, when many of those words held much greater meaning. That's my point too, you can agree with whatever part(s) in or out of context as you will of traditional feminism, but the goal was still the same then as it should be now, as equity feminism and other egalitarian movements try to reach. I get that you're offended and I think I understand why, to a point. I would, however, try not to let my own emotion or sentiment get in the way of seeing the whole picture …
/r/MensRights26/11/12 07:02 PM

I think it's there, but I also think it's downplayed by the squeaky-wheel gender fems, so much so that things like the feminist shutdown of the wage gap myth go largely unheard. Now, whenever I encounter a feminist, I try to immediately ask that question so that if we butt heads anywhere down the line about me being an MRA, I have that ammo to show them that I am indeed sensitive to women's issues and that they've been terribly misinformed.
/r/MensRights26/11/12 04:41 PM
2

Being caustic about it doesn't make it any less true. Every single feminist-turned-MRA is an equity feminist. Whether or not you're an egalitarian is the true marker for either group.
/r/MensRights26/11/12 03:22 PM

/r/MensRights26/11/12 03:09 PM

Gender feminism? Yes. Equity feminism? No. I find this distinction important because of the number of feminists who aren't hypocrites. Enabling greater use of this divide will help align more femcentric egalitarians to our united cause and away from radicals.

Shooting someone from a distance: attempted murder. Shooting someone in the legs point-blank: assault with a deadly weapon. Unless you toss them into a ditch afterwards, at which point it becomes reasonable assumption that you intended to let them bleed out.
/r/MensRights13/11/12 04:27 PM
1

If she stabbed him in the leg and arm and then ran off, that'd be aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, not attempted murder. It's a real stretch to prove intent to kill when the opportunity is so readily available and so easily abandoned. Now had she stabbed at his chest and just barely missed a vital organ, you'd have a much better argument. Or in context here, had she'd run him over several times perhaps. Circumstances make all the difference in proving motive.
/r/MensRights13/11/12 04:19 PM
-3

Speed, trajectory, motive...these are all necessary for proving intent. If she had intended to kill him, she would have killed him. She already sent him to the hospital using her car, it would've been no stretch to send him to the morgue instead. Reckless endangerment is more appropriate factually.
/r/MensRights13/11/12 04:11 PM
-6

Attempted murder is questionable here, as there's no concrete way to prove that she in fact tried to kill her husband. Hell, she could easily escape that charge with an insanity plea. edit: Downvoters seem to lack a real understanding of what constitutes motive.
/r/MensRights13/11/12 02:11 PM

If I chose later to have it done, that was my business and nobody else's. I have to say that I agree very strongly with his position, and I'm eternally grateful that he allowed me to m…

Mole crickets eat plants can also mean mole crickets are omnivorous but does not necessarily mean mole crickets only eat plants. It's an example and by no means exclusionary. It's a diatribe on pageant mothers like June Shannon (mother of Honey Boo Boo) whose childbirth does not give them a free pass from criticism, and for whom respect can be lost, same as everyone else. Also, the Thompsons are anything but poor.

Alright, Negative Nancy, how's this? The top image is what I found, and it's so obviously inherently sexist. The lower image and superimposed text were my contribution to a sarcastic rebuttal of the proposed statement. Case in point, pageant queen mothers (like June Shannon) are an easy example of women for whom the right to disrespect is so easily given. This is, of course, ignoring the obvious issues the former statement has with autonomy (free speech/expression). Cogent enough for you?

If it was the other way around, there'd be lawsuits and an article in the local paper. I actually don't have a problem with this. I hate super-pc people who demand absolutely identical accommodations, even when that wildly ignores the reality of how the races operate. A central hub of factual information, sure. Activist opinion sites are a bit of a grey area. I won't speak to the factuality of AVFM, but Wikipedia rightfully tries to distance itself from bias. I don't honestly know how that plays out on the Feminism page and discussion, but if AVFM is indeed fact-(mostly)-neutral (i.e.: lacking in hyperbolic bias), that should be an easy argument to be won, no?
/r/MensRights25/09/12 01:34 PM

I didn't friend them, but my profile is (and always was) public. I just recently decided to block them and their SO's. Plus, I'm not about to remove myself from social media or do things differently just because of someone else. I shoot pretty straight at my job so I have more leeway than most people might. If I'm caught in some shit, chances are I'm in the right, so my boss gives me the benefit of the doubt, and he's very fair about analyzing the situation and figuring out what's going on and why. The issue here is the conflation of the MRA with a movement for equality (and therefore egalitarianism). It is not. Is this not the exact same thing that we bitch about from feminists? If we don't seek equality for everyone, how can we expect it for ourselves? How can it even be called equality otherwise? I'll let that sink in. This is a movement for men. It's important to understand the context under which this decision was made. Is it perfect? No. Is it good? Yes. Is it a step in the right direction? Absolutely. Currently, Brazil treats OS parents the same way we're used to, the bad way. The mother gets preferential paternity leave and the man has to just keep working. This has been tradition for them, the model being copy/pasted over to SSf parents since they just had to choose one of the two women. Applying this benefit to SSm parents is an e…

There's no doubt that women have a hormonal advantage because they're built that way. Opposing discrimination as it hits you isn't what I'd call an MRA activity. I've been reamed countless times throughout my life for trying to defend my own rights, from self-defense to representation, just because I was born with a penis. Both genders hold biases against each other, and both share them within their respective groups, but only one of these two gets to voice their opinions openly and with nearly no risk of penalty. If that's not astounding to you, consider everything prior to the 70's.

That is not an absolute, as we see from many species on Earth. One gender is capable of childbearing, but that is not license for total dominion over an independent spawn in need of nourishment and care. More than that, we've risen far beyond our biology and have proven time and again that evolutionary reproductive traits no longer define us as they once did. Through intellect, medicine, and culture we have broken the shackles of our ancestry that had held us in place for so long. No longer nece…

I understand the difficulty in the bias, but I feel that we've moved forward enough as a society that we can start to imply such sacredness into the father-child bond without too much dismission; I think that we can show through our history and present day that the bond between a caregiver and his/her child(ren) is what's sacred. I think that, when framed in this manner, the argument is also far more effective.
/r/MensRights25/08/12 12:26 AM
10

On the contrary though, I do think it's an argument worth having. Think of all those gay dads lovingly raising their (sometimes biological) children. To just forfeit the debate because it's unpopular or difficult now would only worsen the blow for family-determined gay couples everywhere. In whole, the issue is about equality beyond genders, and its implications hit very deep.

How about you check the link I provided for defining misandry here? Noun misandry (usually uncountable; plural misandries) The hatred of, or pathological aversion to men. Discrimination against males.

I think you don't understand just what maternity leave really is. It's not about physical recovery, which is far less than 3 months. And that's out of context anyway, as you'll be out on medical leave regardless. Putting it back into context, it has everything to do with bonding. The idea that men are somehow less capable of connecting emotionally with their children is a false one shaped from discriminatory social politics.
