I don't have any direct, applied advice to give, but I just wanted to say that you're alright and be patient and kind to yourself as work through this. Sex and intimacy are not a race and everyone figures out what they enjoy at their own pace, so resist the urge to compare yourself to what you think should be normal. For the record, I was well into my 20s before sex became a part of my life and I began enjoying it the most starting in my 30s. All that will be there waiting for you when you're re…

Good points, but also consider that (for most people) what happens in highschool doesn't follow you out of it, good or bad. Treat it like a sandbox.

I don't like this outlook because it isn't helpful for anyone in the big picture. The idea of being awarded a woman as a prize that is unlocked is demeaning to both women and men. Dating shouldn't be a reality TV dating show. I don't consider my friends as a "prize" that I won- we spend time together because we like each other. Dating isn't more complicated than that, it just adds sex. LTR or one night hookup, it's still about your relationship to a person.

This is solid. Also, totally cliche here, but find a hobby or something you enjoy that's potentially social. A music scene, for instance, but the more niche, the better. Strike up conversations with people, anyone, guys or gals and accept that meeting new people is going to be awkward. Just have fun with the awkwardness- hardly anyonene is smooth meeting new people for the first time. As someone who's moved around alot, the best way it to just pick something and keep showing up, especially if it…

If you're in a situation where you would buy your friend a drink, buy the girl one too. The man did great. Even moreso given that this was their first time reaching out to a girl at a bar.

Take a break or two to give you a chance to just be social / goof around. Cook up a quick dish, show off a hobby, photo, or something that carries a story... You know, things that show your personality that you wouldn't be able to during class. Good luck and have fun!

When an approach is welcome, it doesn't come across as an "approach"
/r/seduction25/08/21 09:37 PM
1

Think of approaching as extending an invitation to come play, to come have a fun conversation, and to get to know you. It's nothing more serious than that. It's playful. That should take a lot of the pressure off approaching new people. You don't know them yet. You don't know if they are your kind of people- but you'd like to find out if they are. If they don't feel like a fun conversation, that's their right. Go find someone who does. Good luck

Talking to women shouldn't require anything remotely approaching an ideology. We've all taken it personal sometimes pursuing women, and it hurts, sure. But separating women into a separate, inferior class is wrong. Full stop. That's some Taliban shit and it screams insecurity. Finding the confidence to boldly approach women starts with building yourself up, not debasing women. Find some good male mentors.

I've always thought of it like this: Any student can tell you what makes a good teacher, but it's not the same thing as knowing what it takes to be one. We all know the experience of have a good teacher, we've all been students, so it should be a given we're in a position to give advice on how to be a good teacher. But until you're in front of a classroom, you won't realize what that teacher has to go through to provide that classroom experience. It comes off effortless and natural, yet it takes…

Yes. Tell her exactly what it is you're looking for, and give her the information she needs to make an informed decision if it's the right fit for her. Anything less is cheap and manipulative. Don't be ashamed of what you want, but be confident enough to accept that she may walk.

Second this on escalation. Also, connect physically next time. Take her and move her around on a date, be it bringing her into your arms to playfully dance and twirl her, guide her by the waist as your showing off your place, or by the shoulders to move her out of the way to reach the cabinet.

Props to you for taking a step back to evaluate your situation, and looking to change the things you're not satisfied with. Something to consider: An interesting person has interests. An analogy would be to think of your life as a house. Like a house, you need to build your life into something you can literally invite someone into. The basics walls, foundation, roof (I.E. income, apartment) are necessary but four bare walls only make for a shelter, not a house. You need to decorate and fill that…

Yeah. Don't ever withhold from the bedroom when in a long-term relationship. Communicate: if a partner needs space, get to the bottom of that, go from there. Maybe thats what OP meant but it came out unclear. That said, I don't think it's all that uncommon to come across people in the dating world who encourage attention without the intent to reciprocate.

It did a lot. It takes balls to directly tell a girl what you'd like to do with her- she gets to see that. OP also declared his intention, made it known that he's interested romantically- no "friendzone" confusion. Further, he demonstrated respect for her and her situation, while at the same letting her know the terms he'd like to see her- in this case, a relationship, not a hookup. OP handled it like a champ. I guarantee you she looks at him differently now. Where that leads, time will tell. Th…

This is solid advice throughout this thread. Rarely can you go wrong with obvious. The more direct, the more flattering and more confident you come across. e.g. If you approach him, tell him when you're off and tell him he should invite you out to coffee or whatever.

It's funny how easy it is to freeze up, but ask silly questions back. Ask what their first celebrity crush was. Ask what made them laugh today. Ask why they've never flirted with you. Roll with the awkwardness, the tension is half the fun after all. But seriously, what you say isn't important - you're trying to create a moment between you two.

This is solid. For some reason a commenter is getting hung up on "touching because you want to". This is great advice. Never be ashamed of your desire: make it known. To clarify, it's not an invitation to cop a feel. It's pointing out that you don't need an excuse to incorporate touch, the fact that you would like to touch them is reason enough. Don't treat someone you're interested like you'd treat your mother- no one wants to go out with someone who treats their date as a polite son/daughter w…

I second this. Especially the desperation. It's definitely coming across in the post and it wouldn't be surprising if it's coming across in person. The description of "if I have A plus B, then I get C" on these dates is very outcome dependant attitude, as everyone is saying. That's a lot of pressure and expectation to put on a meet up and makes it difficult to be in-the-moment, confident, and laidback (i.e. attractive) in person. As they say: look hungry, you'll starve.

Strongly disagree. Confidence looks good on anybody. This comment is a good example: we can't see how attractive its author is, or even their gender, but the tone is self-pitying. Self-pitying is not confident and so its tone is not very attractive, despite knowing nothing of what its writer looks like. Just as your smile looks better when you're brushing your teeth vs. not brushing. Same with going out in t shirt and sweats vs. a smart looking outfit- Your smile or your outfit are not guarantee…

Straight up: you got to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Work on being less negative. Get some hobbies like everyone else is saying and it won't be... Go for it. Be mindful that she's working and the pressure to be a polite, friendly employee and creates an unbalanced dynamic between you and her. So, respect that, try even acknowledging that if it can be done in a charming, relaxed way (you want to express you won't be a routine unwelcome visitor or blowup in an insulted rage of she can't accept your invitation). Start with low key conversation to get a temperature on her reception of seeing you again. If it seems genuinely positive, invite to…

You already have many reasons why you should respect and love yourself; you are worthy as you are. By answering your why, you have your how. By all means, create more reasons and improve but don't get caught up in self-criticism. There's already an abundance of it and few people need more.
