I found the most helpful thing to do was meditate or actively keep a journal to write down my thoughts throughout the day to understand why my mind wants to have an outburst. When I was in your position I had the same plan. To get disciplined before I went to college but my family was against it. Now I'm in college with a sub-par GPA and slowly building discipline. If I were in your position I would do it. Look into the other branches as well not just the marines. I'd prefer someone starts with a strength program than switch to aesthetics.
