I love to make eye contact with a woman while I'm asking a question and then tell her I was talking to the woman standing next to her.

Can you imagine seeing someone in your office making a face and then realising they're shitting their pants? And a well cared for baby doesn't sit around in a dirty nappy all day. Everyone knows when a baby needs to be changed. The nappy is literally just there to protect the baby's clothes/furniture and then be changed immediately. That's why mothers bring clean nappies out with the baby.

I wonder if it depends on how you first knew them - as part of a group or one on one. All my straight guy friends are from groups, and now that I think about it, so are a lot of guy friends of girls I know. It's possible! But maybe that says more about me/my level of attractiveness.

Still reads skeezy to me. I associate with being really into Hello Kitty, wanting her to act like a little girl even if he doesn't consciously think so, but I take your point.

This also seems paedophilic to me, not only racist. Kawaii is kind of childlike, right? This reads to me like he wants to make believe sleeping with specifically a Japanese schoolgirl. Am I misunderstanding?

Agree with the spirit of the article but I hate when they fill these lists up with people you weren't meant to like in the first place, like Joey from 10 Things or Paolo. Weren't they the bad guys?

Yeah, it speaks to an inhuman lack of empathy for women that this guy really sees no issue with the scenario. He's basically admitting he thinks rape is just bad sex. And who wouldn't take lousy sex over slavery? (Btw, I'm not sure if I'm reading your comment right. I hope I haven't offended!)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/08/20 01:22 PM

Oh absolutely, that's what I mean. Like wives of rich men in history (and now tbh), the life of comfort comes at an uncomfortable cost.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/08/20 01:18 PM

This is an incredible take. In slavery times, biracial children came about through the rape of enslaved women by the men who owned them. Didn't Thomas Jefferson still enslave his own biracial children? And light skinned black women kept as mistresses benefitted as much from slavery as wives of rich men benefit from patriarchy. Any comfort she has comes completely at the whims of her oppressor.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/08/20 04:46 AM

Yes, standing beside your child in a photo (even truly to disrupt creepy men) is morally on par with putting them between you and a bullet. Generally I'd bet that if women suspected pervs were trawling their Facebook for photos to jerk it to they'd keep their children well away from it.

Rachel Green! Love her but come on, really?? Ross was such a jerk. He was condescending to his friends, boring, and the whole debacle over her job at Bloomingdale's was atrocious. He gives her a hard time because she's always working late. Sorry, should she take her job less seriously, or should she go back to waitressing? I was at a party chatting with this guy (who initially seemed really cool and attractive); then this other girl, who I only vaguely knew walked past, and he started denigrating her to me for her job and called her Santa (plus size girl in a red dress, classy guy). She had a grad position with the Daily Mail (which he considered morally bankrupt); he worked absolutely willingly for a bank that was, at the time, under investigation for huge ethical breaches (setting vulnerable/uninformed people up…

I can't believe I have to say this: camels do not have breasts. They do not have midriffs to expose. Also, none of the animals wear pants. Pooh Bear and Donald Duck do not wear pants either. This is a children's video game, not an episode of Bojack Horseman.

Extremely cool to hear she has either repressed this memory or is coping by not addressing it! I know several women abused at her age who certainly were emotionally damaged by it. I remember a girl in my history class saying we should acknowledge that men have us the right to vote. And, 1) they actually denied us the right, and should never have been in a position to do so 2) there's one guy in this class and you're way out of his league - who are you trying to impress?

This feels like they're just trying to degrade the women - like I have to let you know I don't think you're worth the money you charge. I don't think they expect freebies or that chewing tobacco offers will be taken seriously. They just want to say she won't be either.

Good lord. That interview was a lot to get through. She's so often taken out of context - her fight to control the rights to her music, the Kanye debacle, and the John Mayer relationship. Also, I'll never get another chance to complain about this specific thing so here I go: I remember seeing a man parody the blank space video and the youtube thumbnail was him grinning maniacally with mascara tears down his face. I'm glad she included Taylor Swift here even though defending her is unfashionable - much maligned over the Kanye rubbish for no reason. Consenting to being mentioned in a song is not consenting to being called a bitch, having a man responsible for one of the worst moments of your life erroneously claim credit for your success, or having than man depict you naked in bed with him and, among others, a known rapist. I have the inverse of this - LVM dad and a mum who is ultra wary of any men my sister or I are involved with. Congrats on med school! Believe me when I say I know how you're feeling. All I can say is not to be in a rush to find the one. This is advice that I hated getting, because I spent my teens and early 20s not really seeing the difference between myself and other girls my age who had far more guys interested in them. I hated being told I'm still young, don't rush, because I'm sick of missing out on normal experiences. It makes me feel like a weirdo. I can't let myself think about it because I fold …

I haven't shaved in the four weeks since I've been working from home. And that's how long it takes for the hair to stop being prickly and uncomfortable. I might actually make the change permanently. Honestly. I helped one of my best friends move out of his bf's place. He promised to pay for a full tank of petrol ($50) then decided to cap it at $20. Two weeks later, dude wouldn't get on a train to hang out before my shift, the same distance he would expect me to travel for him. When I confronted him he said he needed to go to the gym. Plus I would suggest hanging out every other week and he'd always either ignore it or turn me down. I stayed friends with him, made excuses for him (he's depre…

His choice to assault you is not your fault. It's not a reflection of you, and it was as likely to happen to any other woman. What's happening now is a defence mechanism. It's only been a week. It's as natural as anything that you would withdraw from yourself like this. He took control of your body temporarily and he's alienated you from it. I don't know where you go from here, if it's police or therapy. I understand how those might feel like too much. Maybe a trusted friend. But his actions are…

Oh really? My only experience with non terminal cancer was a friend at school who was still going back for checkups five years later

I'm not Meredith Grey but I don't believe he had cancer. Seems like a quick turn around to be cancer free. Granted I don't personally know anyone who survived cancer, but my friend had cancer when we were 12 and we were in about 17 before he was announced to be cancer free. It came back, though. I don't think you can get the all clear the same year as the diagnosis. Having cancer does not entitle you to a Super Fun Date with a teenager, and you also can't convince me that if the girl ends up bei…

Exactly the same for me. By chance I befriended a girl who is very involved in our city's independent art scene. The extent of this for me is going to independent galleries and arts events of that nature. It gets easier to do more once you're already going to the more accessible stuff. I'm university aged and the others here are all in their 20s. It's been great for me to have these people I see every week at events. I always thought of myself as intrinsically different, alien from other people,…

Clearly he doesn't realise the reason there are "dozens upon dozens" of women's shelters is that when there was nowhere for us to go we made them ourselves. No government did that out of some benevolence. Plus, he's lucky he had a "plate" to stay with. If you found yourself homeless how many casual flings can you see giving you a place to stay without taking advantage? Would you feel safe?

You've probably resolved this by now but this happened with my last guy. Took me sailing on our first date and I was over the moon about him. Didn't bother me too much that in the following fortnight I only saw him when we spent time with our mutual friends. Mutual friend mentioned the guy was going overseas for work a week from then. I began organising a send-off date. Except he won't suggest anything and it's two days before he goes. Mutual friend tells me the trip is two months, and I was hur…
