Honestly duh. We Christians have been saying this for decades. Though correlation doesn't equal causation there is something to be said about it. People can change even if it is hard.

I read it. Has some good advice but is way too simplistic. Some advice isn't nuanced enough either. Models is far better

If anything the sub is the opposite of feminist. Its red piller central; full of those who refuse to give up codependency.

What? That doesn't make sense.

Really? It all depends for me. I don't want unhealthy or obese. As someone who prefers skinny women (idk why), it's not a deal breaker. I have run across several women who are overweight or busty (not obese that I can see) and their face is gorgeous. Their proportions are still attractive too. I'd fall head over heels (but thats codependency ;) )

I am finding that you really need to change thought patterns to be confident. Dwelling all the time on that fact you're single won't help. A woman won't complete you. The quicker you realize only you can make yourself happy the quicker the recovery and perhaps you'll find someone. But don't do it solely for the reason to get someone. Otherwise you will undo everything and end up in an unattractive slump.

So sorry for the late reply. What do you think of me and why do I care And When People are big and God is small both by Ed Welch.

Red pilled comments on an exredpill sub? Interesting, yet not surprising.

Have to comment on this. So much seemed like me but other parts not so much. The idea of masculinity didn't make a ton of sense either being a home body. There is some good advice but, I read a critical review and the reviewer attached basically newspaper articles on "nice guys" written by women that said the same thing without the Freudian psychobabble. Just stop being needy. It didn't necessarily develop in childhood. Heck even in one part Dr Glover says that...that's what alerted me to the id…

Oh ok. Reading a summary of it now. All similar to books I am reading from the Biblical counseling arena on the fear of man vs fear of God and how to get rid of the former.

Oh so it's about lack of sex? Nevermind my comment about her bringing up the ex then...I thought that was the red flag.

Dump her. Get some self respect. She obviously still has feelings for him if she drones on, even from time to time, she isn't in the right frame of mind to have another relationship. The asking out for coffee is a set up likely between both of them. Always happens.

Yes. Wholly agree. I am one and found it in myself in just friendships before I realized there is something more.

So just a bit of push back or not...depending on how you look at it... If men are emotionally available/sensitive, isnt that a turn off? Or am I missing something?

I feel ya. Read an article from a Christian pastor a few years ago where he laments that he always is asked by the young women "Where are the Christian men?" The church is full of boys and not men he said. He proceeded to give advice that was comme sense and lambasted the notion of playing video games with friends. (Uh...I and many others play far less video games than most 'masculine' men beat their chests around sports, the only acceptable thing apparently. Nevermind that video games are inter…

Thanks! I just replied to a post above bringing my thoughts together. I believe the OP and I have imbibed similar beliefs about ourselves. Basically, when we see the world around us and get rejected we wonder what is wrong with us. Looking inward we see what we lack, height, hair, or whatever, sven confidence. When we are told "be confident," we ask with thoughts buzzing through out heads of what we lack in comparison to what we see with lucky guys and ask "be confident in what?" I, for instance…

Thanks! I also think the OP may be referring to an insecurity that I also get that could create codependency. Basically, there is probably a more charming man who would sweep our gf/wife off their feet better than I could. If she sees that, we assume, if given the opportunity, they would go for it. Yes, I know we are painting women badly and it's wrong. But it resides in the back of our minds, due to constant rejection or porn, we look inward and compare and find so much lacking when we look for…

Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the discussion as I am in a similar boat. It lies in wait in the back of my mind when I get rejected.

I can definitely see this. Makes sense. I found myself to be codependent on someone and working through it, I totally get it. It may be debunked but, I think there is a lot of truth. Mine isn't from childhood trauma or anything just a lot of rejection.

Thanks for this. I wish I could tell everyone else in this thread (I came upon it and the community by accident when typing in Owen Cook's name when viewing a video on how to get rid of insecurities and the advice was PUA stuff I long since rejected). Its heartening to hear as a very short, balding, half breed man who works his butt off. Lately, I have been hearing so much of this hypergamy from people allegedly on my side of culture wars so to speal and who claim to be Christians just swallow t…
