My takeaway from that is that I need to finish reading the sidebar and learn more material, so I feel more confident and natural in those situations. Lol, wtf? I think you are misunderstanding my comment there. I know my lifts are low relatively. I increased my rep count because I kept getting hurt at low reps. I know this is on me, but I want to stop this. Your goals here are at odds with each other. If you want your lifts to go up you have to eat more. OTOH, at 22% I would cut as well. Just realize that your lifts will not go up much until you add more calories. Once you hit 160 I would bulk at 500 over your TDEE for a while so you can add more muscle. Twice now, when I tried to go up to 305 lbs on my squat, I only got one rep done. Not sure if it's just my cut, or what's going on since doing 10 at 295 means I should be able to get out more than 1. I think it is still helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off of on a regular basis without having to filter. This depends on your relationship with your dad.
