I feel silly through putting on nice clothes to sit on he couch/ go to my home office and work. Should I just get over this?

Yes, you should just get over it. Look at it as an opportunity to present your very best self for your wife every day. It also has the added benefit of affecting your mindset in a positive way - dress for success and you will feel more successful. This subtle influence will bleed over into other areas of your life, compounding the effect. You already understand this because of the comment you made:

I do enjoy when the end result of when I wear nice clothes

Don't look at it as a necessary thing, look at it as one easy thing you can do to take yourself to the next level. The wife noticing is just an added benefit, not the goal itself.

So this will also be a good influence in this area. "Every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man", right? You also said in another post:

Comfortable is the enemy here. And if it leads to sin, then make yourself intentionally uncomfortable. Use it as a way to motivate you to increase your godliness as well as your appearance.

I'll admit I used to just jump into a T-shirt and shorts as soon as I got home, so I could be comfortable around the house after work. Now I stay in my (fairly nice) work clothes until I jump in the shower. If I am still awake after that, then I put on a T-shirt and shorts - but they're fairly nice ones that make me look good. I used to be an X-large T-shirt and jean shorts wearer almost year round, so this was an easy win for me. Since you work from home it will be even more important for you.

Think of it this way.

The goal of Christ was to come to make a way for us for salvation, but also to show us a standard of how to live.

A husband is supposed to hold himself to the standard of Christ, and then call his wife to that same standard.

This should pervade your entire way of life. While Christ did not call us to dress well, it is one of the ways we can "do anything we do for the glory of God" so we should if we can. That's not to say I always do it, but I try to now as much as possible.

Having a "look" sucks. It was one of the RP concepts I waited longest to address. I still slack on it occasionally. I like going commando in my gym shorts too much, though I often lounge in a polo atop them.

Nevertheless, swapping the gym shorts for even khaki shorts resulted in a noticeable improvement in my wife's apparel and attitude toward me. Call me a sellout if you want, but the results are worth it.

Have you read Tanner at Masculine Style? I've enjoyed his take on the archetypes. And it's helped me figure out the look I want to portray. I haven't done any coaching with him, but his archetype articles and some others are great. His Staples book was a great check-box start for me in the world of caring about how I look.

23%bf (working on this a lot right now, injuries previously have kept me unmotivated.

If injury happens to prevent gaining muscle, then it's an automatic cut season for me. Not sure where you started, but keep pushing to get under 20% and then further. The feeling of my own skin was great .. so much that I began going without a shirt around the house just because I felt better about who I was.

I wouldn't wear a suit at home everyday. But I also wouldn't wear the equivalent of your wife wearing some crappy gym shorts around the house all day. My wife can wear some gym pants, and they show of some good angles. I'd love for her to wear those all the time. But then there are other pants that are older gym pants or painting pants. And I don't want to see her in those all day long. Lead by example. Get some nice gym clothes. Get some nice comfortable clothes that are more than just jeans and a t-shirt. Get some nice jeans and t-shirts. Rotate around as you want. Fit is king, so expect to go through a couple sizes in pants as your body gets where you want it to be.

Find your style (or "look") and do it. This is still RP ... it's about you. Be attractive ... don't be unattractive applies. But don't dance just to look good for other people. Look good for yourself.

Absolutely valuable stuff when it comes to understanding how to dress well.
