Thank you! I agree it matters most that I am working on myself. For context we are not married but have been dating for 4 years and marriage is definitely the direction we are heading ideally very soon. With that in mind, would you go through the verses together? I’m definitely working on making myself the best man I can be and trying to build myself towards Christ likness and being a Godly man/husband myself.

This is such a great post, thank you. I had a couple of questions simmering in my mind that I wanted to address: In terms of respect and being submissive, if those traits are somewhat present but not entirely present, would that be something that you address with your woman or not? As in, would out bring up that she is not respectful to you and see if she humbles herself, realizes her actions, and changes? Also, in the Bible where roles of marriage and are spoken about; Ephesians 5, Proverbs 31,…

Thank you! In bringing up something that bothers me, is there a way to go about this from a masculine standpoint? Avoiding “I feel” statements or anything along those lines?

I have had a hard time figuring out exactly what my mission is as I am young (21) and have been so focused on my passions and hobbies that I haven’t articulated a true mission. I have been trying for a while to figure out what it would look like, but through this exercise here is what I have come to… My life’s purpose is to use my passion, leadership skills and love to become someone who will inspire, encourage, and lead others to build close relationships and experience spiritual fulfillment. W…

I would agree in having some guidelines isn’t a bad thing but we do live in a beach community. Nobody is showing up in a swimsuit, but Flip flops, shorts, that is pretty common attire. No wrinkles in my clothes? Really? Nobody in my church is dressing slutty or anything of that nature, sure people will wear leggings or a tank top but not to the extent where everything is showing. I have a cousin that I invited to the next meeting and now that this notice went out I’m rethinking my decision.

Definitely seems like she’s taking an emotional step back from the relationship. You said don’t let it phase me if I want the relationship, of course I want the relationship. I know her and how she acts very well and I can tell that she’s been rethinking our relationship as a whole.

She ended up bringing the topic up this evening actually. She had told me that through the last couple of conversations we had, she felt like more of an accessory to my life and has stronger feelings toward me than I do towards her. I reassured her that she is my best friend and the person I want as my teammate and partner. I want her to understand the value that she brings to me, but I’m also not very good at expressing that very well. How should I go about showing her value while still retaini…

I really like your insight, thank you for your comment. I certainly don’t want to be giving off the impression, to her, that I am trying to be the totalitarian boss. However I could see if I am giving off that impression. Would it be at all wise to revisit the conversation from the standpoint of compassion, understanding and stoicism? Or rather accept that I messed that one up and do my best to improve moving forward?
