From my experiences, the LJBF is pretty fatal to your chances. I have no advice on overcoming it as I have never done so, but if you somehow manage... If you have any kind of privacy while watching the movie (as in, you two are the only ones in the room), just close it there. Sounds like you should have F-closed during that pizza + movie. Girls get offended when you invite them on your bed but don't F them. I don't know her (or you) so I can't say for sure, but the girls I had on my bed (romantically) that I didn't try to close all gave me the LJBF talk later. Sounds like something similar happened to you.

Here's how I got her number: me+roommate finished smoking (cig) first, so we excused ourselves and went in. Once inside, I had a crazy urge to smoke some weed so I went back out and asked if they (3 neighbors total) wanted to throw in for a blunt. Not so much uncharted territory, but I guess there is more at risk. Example: my whole life friends and family have told me that I am good looking. All this did was make me scared of asking girls out. After all, if a girl I deemed to be within my reach says no to me, either I'm NOT all that great looking OR there is something fundamentally unattractive about me that I don't know about. And when you believe that you are truly handsome, every girl seems to be within reach.

Against my better judgment, I listened to you guys. Turns out we met them up today (me and my friend + her and her friend). He is my friend, but when it comes to girls it's a whole different game. He has the mindset of, "if I can't talk to her, then no one talks to her". If the HB4-plan is indeed creepy, I will talk to the friend. But I know that's a dead end.

She is NOT "my friend's girl". This particular friend was telling me about a girl he was in love with (who works at the cafe we went to) for at least two days. I simply went to the cafe because he asked for company while he tried to chat her up (IMO she actually seemed interested in him). I had no idea he called out a DIFFERENT girl he only met once, but that different girl is the HB9.

I was under the impression that people you meet at the club are more for hooking up than LTRs. My motive for going out that night was, in fact, to get an ex jealous.
