if only there was a way to move on or show your disagreement with some rating, something simple even you would understand it, like an arrow - imagine this: top arrow if you like it and agree and want others to see it, or bottom arrow if you dont like it and disagree and do not want others to see the comment. one can only wish for such feature

I really dont get it. Are you telling us you are considering marriage that is different to our standards and ask us for the opinion on the matter? It is like if I asked for your opinion whether I should go to a Mńága a Žďorp concert, even tho its not Taylor Swift, its still cool I guess? My mom told me so? What do you think? TLDR: maybe you are your own ruler and you bear the responsibility for your actions, marry or not, it is your decision and not your mothers, nor this community's.

but you probably mean "american natives" not people from India. We (whole eastern europe) got same problem with gypsies - living off social welfare, having fuckton of kids, barely work, getting homes for free, their kids annoy everyone (also fight, steal etc.)... and they dont wash either.

interesting. but the "washing culture" is only dominant in the west, while middle-easterners and indians and chinesse dont really do it too much, they love their chaos in everyday life, including poor hygiene (to our european standards).

if you think in a bigger picture of the universe, life, civilization, family, whatever - it makes sense. if you care about having a good time and not about future past your own existence (or even your productive years, which will end around 50-80y), then you dont have to bother about it

Nothing against that, but I surely know I do not want it like that people getting voluntarily married (not talking about forced, teen or stupid marriages) see it the same way. I wouldnt want my kid to see his dad and mother are in a free relationship -> family institution is very conservative for me. But I dont think this topic is too TRP related so I dont think elaborating these issues here is proper.

Its a philosophy, I cant tell you what is right or wrong, you either believe in it, feel it, or you do not. If you dont care about it, nobody will ever remember you, if you care about it, you will be remembered. My ancestors were peasants and serfs - nothing to remember about them (on a professional or fame level, as we understand it today in the pop-culture), except I wouldnt be here, unless they did what they did, which I am grateful for. I dont think these debates are really fit for TRP subre…

I am certainly glad my parents are married and if I ever decide to have kids of my own, I will be as well. Why would you have kids without marriage? Just because you can doesnt mean its the best option.

Their herritage is still here - in me. And I remember my grandparents just like I want my kids to remember me, and their kids. Thats the meaning of life, the cycle. If you wanna leave the cycle, you can, but then it will end.

Who cares how you look? There should be some limits, or "red lines" that you should not cross and if you do, then there should be consequences. If you see this as ultimatum, blackmailing or whatever, its your POV. You wont change her nature anyway, all you can do is to help her realize your POV on the matter and make her decide whats more important for her. If your SMV is high enough, it shouldnt be hard.

I get your point and we probably agree, but just use different words. it is okay to talk about the future and marriage in general, but you cannot ask her, whether she wants to marry you casually, because she would get upset and say you ruined the moment. She wants the drama, the act, the emotions connected with it. Just like sex, you just dont talk about it, you do "the signals", you play the game and look how she responses.

that was really interesting, first time reading about "palimony" being a thing. I do not know about the topic so therere is (as in every court case) a lot of information that I am not aware of, but from what I know after readint the article, was that they had some deal as a couple and after breaking up, they split the shared property? as a non-native english speaker, the terms are too complex for me.

the purpose of laws is supposed to be that everyone does their part, like you have said. if some do not, its a specific problém that needs reform (laws are a process that is constantly being reformed to fit the current situation), not that laws in general are a bad thing. Without any laws, the strongest would dominate and create their own laws, and for the sake of effectivity, they would have to get more liberal again (could take generations), a vicious circle. I really love it, but most people dont even pay attention to it, cuz there is a guitar, singer and drums (: funny thing is that we have a part of a song when bass stops playing (for dynamics) for 12seconds, then drummer does a fill and I join again. when I talked to a girl after, she was like "oh I liked the part when the band stopped and then suddenly started playing again" I was like whoa, only I stopped playing. I googled it and wow, it seems like it really was a thing :-) Romania even had celibacy tax. Wow. What Ive meant, is that a married couple here could do taxes together and if one earns way less, they both save on some tax deduction, while the one who earned less would have lost the deduction otherwise. So something like this, but waaaay more impactful. I am sure some smarter people in this field of expertise would come up with wiser ideas.

well, not here. its men usually initiating divorce, because they want younger partner. and women have lower confidence so they want to keep their man. marrying again in 50-60s is pretty common here as well, because you no longer want the same qualities in woman you wanted in 20-30s, but you want someone who appreciates your wisdom, chill personality and wealth, while provides you with comfort, company and some chores. and for women, they want older guy when in their 20-30s, but want younger one …

Why not have fun while being young, marry (around 30s), wait till kids grow up and can take care of themselves and then divorce if you need to be free? If you become lazy at that point and you are happy, then stay as you are. Marriage doesnt have to last a lifetime. Also you can remarry in your 50-60s, even to someone else, there is no problém with that.

but smart people never had many kids, while plebs breed like crazy. it was always like that and I dont see any reason for it to change. Only exception were the machos with dozens of women (usually one per the region/country/village/tribe).
