I'm mostly drawing from personal experience training via free weights vs machines. That's just someone that clearly has experience lifting as well that wrote a small article about it. I just try to stay away from picking up girls from the gym. I've done it, but its definitely harder to do. For me the gym is where I go to get in my own head and bust my ass. Sure there are nice girls to look at their but they are usually just interested in getting their work out done. Don't get disgruntled about one approach, there are plenty of other pretty girls out there that would love your company.

For the older girl; using the get over it phrase will almost always result in someone not getting over it. Its like telling someone that's raging to calm down, its just fuel to the fire.
