I started very similar. I was with my ex when I found FDS, but I told myself certain things just didn't apply to me. I was very much trying to be the "cool girl" ala the Gone Girl monologue. Also left with absolutely nothing

Good work. I'm worried for the generation raised on TikTok. I'm gen z too technically but didn't have the internet til I was 11. It's kinda scary. These kids raised on it.

Cutting off family, especially close, can be harder. But if you need to for your growth you CAN. It may be hard, but you cannot change someone who doesn't want to be changed. It's not just for you, but for that family member too. They can't be enabled. Either choice you make with family is okay. But out yourself first. Low contact is okay. No contact is always best, but with family low contact is okay until you know what you want to do.

Trust me. I've only started getting this after cutting off a toxic pick me. She made me feel so badly about being a strong woman. It's so so hard, but worth it

I found some stuffies at target I had when I was a kid. My aunt donated them. So I'm buying those, a bottle of my favorite wine, and settling down with Netflix and my pets :) I'm excited. Last year, with me ex, I bought MYSELF wine and chocolate, while he went out with friends

My ex used it to get a rise out of me. As in. He was satisfied with me being quiet and complacent with his actions, then later (usually while drunk) wanted some sort of ACTION. Anything. Mostly a negative reaction from me. So he would say, "you're angry" or " you're upset with me," just to start an argument so he could feel righteous. It was hell. Men do this all the time

Tbh I ignore most of what I see regarding this on TikTok. Majority of women commenting are teens who don't know better. It's hard as fuck because they are perpetuating such bullshit, but you can't help everyone. You're completely right in your observations, but unfortunately most videos on TikTok are lost to the pick me's, lvms, kids, and bot accounts.

Yeah and in my experience men are extremely reluctant to seek out therapy. It's like. Help yourselves? What point is being made here? Men aren't listened to. By who? Other men. Hold your fellow dudes accountable

Breaking News: man has to get into his 30s before he begins to have empathy for over half the population. Give me a fucking break. It took him aging to realize women are people and not just pussy? Go back to your hand dude none of us want you 🤮

Her original song isn't even gender specified which is the funniest part. Man just. Assumed it was about another guy. I don't like either song, but he felt the need to respond to a song that wasn't even about him of necessarily a man in general? Fucking pathetic tbh

Like wtf. He's blaming everyone in the show for being too feminine and liberal but takes no issue with the portrayal of a man obsessed. A murdered. They have to be joking by now, right???

My dad and I are close now too. Me and my mom have a good relationship but that's because I knew how to navigate her. But tbh any father in that situation could do more. Mine even admitted so.

My mother is a diagnosed narcissist. She fucked my dad up with legal fees. But he still could've fought to see or at least speak to me, especially in my teen years. Any father can. It's not an issue of legal fees or having to speak to the person they hate. If they truly want to they will

Why didn't your father fight for you to be in his custody then? I am in the same boat with my mother. Some pretty bad abuse. I love my dad but wonder why he didn't fight to have me then. It just shows that they suck. And if they blame the court system they're lying, because you can request your children testify and I would've told the court I was better with him.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
