The proof needed: Show me a well-known feminist who attacks men for expressing loneliness. A video, article, quote... anything. I say well-known feminist because I'm well aware that many basement dwelling women hate lonesome men, but it's the influential feminists (especially those of political positions) with a large social media backing that can make an effect on men's lives, so those are the ones we ought to scrutinize.

Concerning misandrist men: There is a very strong incentive for men to be feminists, or "white knights", in a fashion that harms other innocent men. It's deeper and more phycological than just "wanting to get laid"; the male ego is very closely tied with achievements, or the protection of a weaker agent like a damsel in distress or innocent children. Male feminists who demonize other men can selfishly gain the ego-boost by appearing as a hero to a female audience. We humans have a habit of proje…

Generally, men aren't encouraged to express anger; you'd get immediately excommunicated from the mainstream crowd and labeled as childish (rightfully so to be honest; anger isn't a useful tool). Granted, the unique instances of male anger being tolerated is when it's directed towards a common good: anger at your country being insulted if you live in a nationalistic culture, or anger at criticisms of feminism if you live in a gynocentric culture are forms of male-anger that are lauded. But anger …

Men as the protectors and/or providers has long been deemed an anthropological myth. That's true that men haven't been the only provider, considering that most of modern human history entailed agricultural efforts rather than brute hunting. My point was that many progressive displays of women seem to want the best of both worlds: the lauding of femininity and expressions of beauty in women, while still seeking to equate masculine among between the two genders, essentially leaving men with no fee…

The idea of promoting women to being of equal physical strength to men creates an interesting double standard: women are lauded in the style of lipstick feminism, where their beauty and fashion begets adoration and romantic attention, this feminine charm is exclusively attributed to women. Men on the other hand are being denied of the masculine identity of strength and athleticism; any attempts to suggest that men do more of the protecting/providing is labeled as misogynistic.

Traditional values aren't always ideal; our ancestors acted not based on tradition, but rather on necessity, there's no reason for us to act the same as them when we have more leeway in our lives today. Why act as a soldier, as a man would be in the 1700s, when life today grants a man the ability to live for himself?

Speaking of physicality, notice how boys are encouraged to be more violent? Many of us were likely taught to be violent to solve issues. I understand violence in self-defence, but I don’t want to be randomly violent. I suspect that a reason behind this systemic conditioning stems from emotional neglect; encouraging boys to be violent may not be a deliberate end goal in people's mind, rather it's an apathetic suggestion given to young boys for them to solve their problems on their own. A more sym…

There are conflicts of interest between the two genders; yes we must find a common ground, but we must also understand that the idea of feminism trickling down benefits to men isn't always true, many aspects of feminism benefit women at the expense of men, job quotas (in fields with more male applicants) are one example of that.

I agree that it's not a zero sum game, it's just that women can worry about their own problems, and for men to do that as well would be redundant. This is a fascinating and well-written post, and it makes very good points. I do hold some skepticism towards münecat, a video of hers made a few years ago shows her lambasting men's problems with derision, and reverting to the age old feminist tradition of "men don't have problems, but even if they do it's because of toxic masculinity". She also is a believer in patriarchal theory, and seems to apply the theory to discussions of economics where she blames women's lesser income on sexism rather …

there’s def a blue collar good man niche, i see it among women who are really attracted to southern men, the cowboy vibe. True, but it's still a niche as you said it. Men, particularly those of conservative background, have explicitly stated their favor for a dynamic where they pay the bills while the partner does housework; thus men have been shown to upkeep the balance of traditional norms, so I don't think your theory holds weight.

The moral dilemma often brought up, and I believe it's worthy of a discussion: would a conscription of men yield an outcome of lesser destruction compared to the alternate reality where there's no conscription. To apply this logic to a case theory, we see today's Ukraine facing an invasion from an uncompromising totalitarian force. Our question here is that if we follow the humanist route and abstain from conscription, could Ukraine end up loosing more male civilians at the hands of the invading…

Non-western countries have a bigger emphasis on serving a higher cause rather than embracing liberal humanism; notwithstanding that (and outside of a few war-torn countries like Afghanistan), there still is noticeable preferential treatment towards women, such as, whilst men are held to the traditional soldier conditioning - of course, this isn't to deny that women do in fact have many challenges in many third world countries.

"Bully", I think dissociating from them is a good idea, but bullying them is too far and honestly is sounds outright malicious; those men who embrace such ideologies are often mentally struggling and feel outcasted from society, what's the point of bullying them? Moreover, TRP is toxic because it takes some truths and pushes them too far; even Buddhism became violent when it's disciplines where radicalized. One of the most heinous feminist talking points is the idea that men commit suicide more often because supposedly they are conditioned to be selfish and pursue a goal (the goal in this question being suicide) at all costs. Hence by that logic men would be inclined to use severe methods for death such as hanging or a firearm.

Their theory of successful women reverting to traditional norms or at least finding any flaw in the current western dynamics that offer women better career opportunities than men are unfounded; the vast majority of people hold little to no interest in male welfare, so this definitely isn't a topic that would circulate the heads of anyone not affiliated with MRA sentiments.

A "mistake" is something that happens accidentally; a slip or glitch in one's behavior. For someone to go as far as to seriously plan an exit from your life in the case that you turn evil and violent is someone who doesn't trust you, what's marriage without trust? You can apply the logic in reverse; would a woman be taking it too far if she divorces her husband after finding out he made a go-bag? 80% of divorces are initiated by women, so that would be the most likely reaction.

I kind of suspect that it's a guy larping as the original OP - nonetheless, the divorce was inevitable. If she can't trust him enough for her own physical safety to the point where she has to plan an emergency exit then the relationship is flawed from the start. The same logic would go when analyzing black and white citizens in the USA. Overall, black Americans are arrested at 2.6 times the per-capita rate of all other Americans, and this ratio is even higher for murder (6.3 times) and robbery (8.1 times)). Our understanding of human nature, in its form of Tabula Rasa, would dictate that human beings are essentially by-products of their environment. Can we really expect people in war-torn Vietnam 1980s to not embody certain forms of aggressive behavior?…

I don't think society is deliberate with its push of men towards adversity, rather it's more so how society allocates its resource of empathy: towards women and children first. We need Masculism: feminism had a humanist element, it wasn't a question of what practical nuances where associated with women's empowerment, rather it was done simply for the sake of women's welfare. There are two types of male feminists; those who seek fairness for both genders, and those who want to boost their ego by playing hero. And many others could be along that spectrum. The only way to know which group a person belongs to is to see how consistent they are with their morals; would they express equal concern to men's high suicide rate as much as they would with the problems women face? Or for example, would they blame men for women's problems, while claiming that men's problems are se…

I think they're "insecure" in the sense that they try to prove themselves to something greater than themselves, they renounce individualism. There's nothing wrong with that however, tradcons are honest about their intentions, whereas male feminists will exploit those around them for their ego-fulfillment.

We'd have to define "masculinity" or "traditions" here. Based on my understanding the traditional expressions of masculinity can include positive message such as self-protection, loyalty to family, and refusing to succumb to a tyrannical authority. I think the problem here would that what is defined as "housework" could be termed in favor of women for a desired end result. I think one can help others in indirect ways; for instance if one works as a banker for the energy sector and they donate a fixed percentage of their income for cancer charities, then they are greatly helping without the need to switch careers to medicine and so on.

Women in prosperous Islamic societies live in the similar standards of dignity as western women; countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan could be equated with christian countries such the Congo or Guatemala, that is if we are to cherry pick. The western lens often misses points of suffering of men in other nations and choose to focus exclusively on women's issues; for example, if women in Turkey aren't sheltered enough from DV, a western analysis would most likely ignore the fact that most pe…

We'd have to define "masculinity" or "traditions" here. Based on my understanding the traditional expressions of masculinity can include positive message such as self-protection, loyalty to family, and refusing to succumb to a tyrannical authority. However traditionalism can also extend to more toxic grounds such as nationalism, militarism, selflessness and other harmful doctrines. Thus, when we analyze traditional masculinity holistically, we can see specific elements that not only aren't harmf…

Men aren't holistically privileged over women. Humans give more empathy for women than men. Women are physically weaker, but socially stronger; marrying the wrong women can wreck your life. The "matrix" (silly term but good idea) is essentially the false belief that you are part of some great nation/culture that cares about you: it doesn't. The only person that can help you is yourself. Feminists are opportunistically traditional: no feminist will advocate for 50-50 conscriptions, and will happi…

Think of andro-centrism as Prussian militant culture and so on. Yes, the world is more gynocentric, but I'm inclined to be think that conservatives are more in favor of masculinity than progressives are, or at least have a less negative view of it.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates10/04/24 05:11 PM
2

I would characterize gynocentric liberalism as a period that enjoys peace, financial indulgence, and overall tranquility. Recently, Sweden has elected a right-winged government as a reaction to the influx of immigrants (many of whom inflicted violence on the society), here the society of Sweden takes a rigid conservative approach in their governance where concepts of tolerance are cast away much due to their negative experiences. Granted, "gyno" vs "andro" are subjective terms, we could leave it…

It's a similar case with regards to with enforcement personnel: they're lauded by red states, but blue states pay them far better. I'd say men are economically oppressed by capitalism, but culturally so by progressives.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates10/04/24 04:36 PM
19

I'm included to believe that progressive vs conservative isn't necessarily a single spectrum, but rather a large set of radios. A radical feminist is progressive on women's issues, capitalism, and BLM, but could be conservative on transsexuality, immigrants, and men's issues. We'd have to look at the broad set of radios' structure and analyze the tendency here: seeing that on the broad scale men lean more conservative on more issues than women do, we could very much see a gender split.

I've noticed that society goes through a period of gynocentric liberalism and is then followed by androcentric rigidness. Not to suggest that history repeats itself, but it does rhyme in some manner, and this could be supported by the fact of how we humans are essentially by-products of how we're treated by others. For example, a man who's father was an extreme conservative could end up being of a very different character to his father, and the grandson would be an even further different persona…

South Korea's economic system is the East Asia model: an authoritarian form of State capitalism whereby the free market dynamics are merged with a far-reaching government. Such an overbearing political-economic system is likely to radicalize people ideologically. I'm American myself, I'm interested in seeing my country emulating the system Singapore has in place where a free education system is designed primarily on student merit. Granted, Sing is pretty authoritarian so we'd have to tread with caution if we are to get ideas from them.

I think many of what we perceive as solutions to the working class are often symptomatic treatments. For instance, the boost of the minimum wage isn't the root of the issue which is the rising cost of living. In the case of the discussion at hand, it isn't predatory loaning that should be our primary concern, rather it's the absurdly expensive tuition costs and the incessant requirement for a college degree for jobs that really don't need them.

In the case of passport bros, they're going abroad and deliberately seeking a traditional woman to marry, while also paying heed that liberal women could exist in the country of their destination. So there isn't unfamiliarity here, it's just a matter of what kind of women is available in any given geographical location.

I don't blame you for being offended at that user's aggressive message, but posting people's private chats is incredibly predatory, and the fact that it's socially acceptable to mock mentally-ill men and call them "incel" is all the proof we need to see that men's issues are systemic and not something an individual man can just work on by himself.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/04/24 03:48 PM

I agree. No one else is responsible for your loneliness or sense of community. If you suggest that a person's problems are entirely self-inflicted and within a person's control to change then surely you subscribe to the notion of one changing their own life rather than examining society holistically. The ideologies can be analyses from their two elements: economic and cultural. Neoliberalism can be implemented in a heavily regulated fashion to form a welfare state type, in which case I find it difficult to consider it right-wing instead of center left. Socially however, neoliberalism can be either of two camps, just depends on what the elites and corporations fancy and want to virtue signal.

Left vs right ideology within a human being can be accurately visualized as a large panel full of different radios. /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/04/24 02:20 PM

The problem is that "gender roles" aren't a stone-set list of ideals, but rather it's a nebulous characterization of what we deem as the strong male provider. Us taking a stand against traditional male gender roles could risk us, while attacking the bits that harm men, to attack the aspects of traditional masculinity that actually benefit men, such as being ambitious, prioritization of self and family, taking a stand for yourself instead of "being the modern gentleman who has no enemies".
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/04/24 10:19 PM

I would say the problem lies in feminist ideology, which is harbored by both men and women, so it is not women specifically who cause men's problems. The other contributor to men's issues today is neoliberalism, which is far more significant than feminism.

Here we can ask as to why more men resort to OLD than women.

Same here, I'm from Asia currently in America. I do feel that America is more individualistic. Granted I do have cultural factors that contribute to me not fitting into America, but I also wager that America's car-centric infrastructure and corporatism culture that leaves little bedrock for communion.

NATO isn't perfect by any means but it sure as hell is more grounded than Putin.

It is, but would you say the rural culture there is as individualistic and a metro area of the US? Let's put aside the keywords of "liberalism" "westernism" as I used them too casually. My point here id that individualism is what is primarily contributing to the modern isolation.

Would you suggest it's easier for you to build a family and social circle in New York city or rural Italy? The staggering divorce rates, isolation, and overall distain toward the opposite gender prevalent in the US should tell us there is a flaw in the culture. I did not mean liberalism in the legal sense, more so with regards to individualistic vs collectivist culture.

I wasn't ready to see the numbers. I just imagined a stadium full of women saying no. Odds are, a lot of those women would probably say yes if they met you in person, that's the toxicity of social media, it puts people into delusional states. I'm often progressive with regards to technology's development, but social media is one area that has done more harm than gone over the years.

I know this is a left wing space, and leftism has done poorly to evade the thought-constraining political correctness, but I must say this: dating is simply not worth it in the western world. The hyper-individualistic "entrepreneurial" culture of liberal western societies simply has no proper bedrock for the fostering of stable families and communitarian humanist relationships.

Many Leftisms who claim to be anti-idpol are in name only. Try talking about men's issues and watch the vehement backlash. Their focus is significantly less focused on economics than as much as they claim for it to be.

I'd suggest that you don't look at religions as a sort of closed jar with distinct features, rather it is a set of characteristics not necessarily inherent to it. For example, plenty of atheists do hold beliefs and morals towards life that strongly mimic abrahamic beliefs, even without any sort of early-life indocinatdon.

Even worse, men would be the first to shame you if you mentioned gender inequality here. This is one of the biggest discouragements I have with regards to Masculanism. It seems to me that women in general possess the common sense to support moderate feminism for the sake of their welfare, but men... even the progressive/liberal ones seem to embrace the physical/emotional cannon-fodder role. What I notice is that the traditional spirit of masculinity had almost persisted through a metamorphoses: …

Fathers won't be much of help if women are still bashed and insulted in society, maybe I misread your comment but you seem to really minimize women's issues bur suggesting that a father is all it takes for a good life.

Men ought to have a clear idea of how contemporary marital trends are working. Family units are crucial for the well-being of an individual. This sub is for men's rights, but it doesn't mean we cannot discuss cultural trends.

In the west the vast majority of homelessness is male. In the Middle East it’s female. Can you share the source for the second claim? The middle east is vast, is it war-torn Syria that you're referring to?

I recognize your username. You're from r/purplepilldebate lol Do you support men forfeiting their obligation of fatherhood that could be enforced by the government? I think it's reasonable that a man should not force a woman to choose whether or not to have an abortion, but we can't force men to be fathers either.

That's what I wondered as well. Capitalism creates stress, alienation, and resentment. The control of that economic system could alleviate the stresses associated with labor exploitation.

That is correct, I have noticed that Nordics' geography and resources definitely give them a proper platform to start the welfare policies to begin with. That shouldn't let us loose hope with welfare for others nation.
