What is there to "read into"? Your man doesn't compliment or boost you and in fact undermines you by complimenting other women to you. He is the worst. Dump him.

If he just wants to make you aware of a big situation in his life, that is not dumping emotional baggage on you. I would wait until you meet him in person to make a real judgement about this - if he turns the whole date into a therapy session, you know what to do.

Not everyone's parents are very forgiving and understanding when we're down and out, they can be the abusers too and worse to live with because they've had power over you since you were born and sometimes it's harder to break out from under them than a man.

It was an OLD date, he was looking around, acting like he didn't want to be there so after 10 minutes I stood up, said it was pretty clear he didn't want to be there and I had better things to do. This was before I knew better and I didn't block him after. He proceeded to apologise and pursue me for another date. I took a while to crack. As soon as I said yes, he ghosted me. I learnt a big lesson from that. Some guys will chase you after you walk out but it's just their ego talking, you're a cha…

I think it comes down to balance, are the flaws balanced out by the good traits. My HVM is really messy. I am tidy and organised and it annoys me. He is in his 40s and not going to change. He is also kind, honest, trustworthy, hard working, masculine, successful, generous, practical, reliable, resourceful, loving, devoted, smart, funny, supportive, generous in bed, doesn't watch porn, respectful, loves dogs, caring... etc In all these ways he adds value to my life and makes me happy. You can't judge attraction until you meet in person. Chemistry is not just about how you feel about someone's looks. It's also about smell, taste, humour, how they make you feel... a myriad of things. Some of the ugliest guys I've been with have been the hottest. I would at least give an in-person meeting a chance if you're enjoying talking to him.

The earlier you do it in a situation, the better. The time to say no was when he wanted to join you for boba. After turning up scruffy, showing no interest in you and splitting the cheque. There was zero reason for you to get in a car with him after this and he knew it. Once you let him push that boundary he felt he had free licence to keep on overriding you for what he wanted. LVM will do this with no compunction. Practise asserting your boundaries early before it gets ugly and messy - it's har…

The other possibility which I didn't list as it's rarer is what my minus value sociopath ex did when he dumped "My mother abused me and I had to leave her to live with my grandparents at 12" (a terrible story and true) on the first date - he's since admitted it is : a very deliberate plan to suck a woman in with pity and compassion so you have a prepped excuse for him when the psycho games and abuse began - "but he had such a terrible childhooooood". It worked.

There is no good reason for a man to do this on early dates - he needs to go straight into the garbage. A lot of triangulation for sure - I hope all the women here are savvy enough when they hear "my crazy ex" to mentally ask "what did YOU do to make her 'crazy'". My current HVM actually does have a crazy ex (I've read court papers on her split with her husband as well as him) and he's never called her that or complained about her - he takes responsibility for making the mistake of getting invol…

He's just checked out. Pathetic. Not only would an HVM not check out, he'd be "on duty", tending to you, talking to you, holding your hand, getting you things, liaising with the medical staff. This guy is a joke.

He dumped you in the conversation I read - "let you down gently" as they say. Your mistake wasn't cutting him out but in pushing to have a phone conversation in the first place. It's clear he was never going to go there of his own accord and you would have known this without having this embarrassing conversation that has made you feel bad about yourself if you had sat back and let him prove himself to you. You need to read the handbook.

"Conversation, cuddles and connection" What an absolute joke. If these are such lovely guys, with are they having to pay someone to provide this? Let me guess, their mean wives are mean to them. And if this is what men are going for, why Is prostitution (to distinguish from sex work which now includes camming etc) such a statistically dangerous job??

If you're not looking to settle down with this guy, you could try talking to him etc etc. Train him for a future woman. But if you want and are ready to find your HVM for life, ask yourself if this guy makes you feel cherished, special, taken care of and adored. An HVM will.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/06/20 06:09 AM
70

You're not overreacting. An HVM would have bought you one, and enjoyed doing it. He didn't even include you in buying himself one when he knew you wanted one. Of course your feelings would be hurt.

If he hadn't organised something in advance, you shouldn't be expecting him to do something for you. You're assuming he forgot and "reminded" him. In my experience not marking an occasion early in dating is a clear message from the guy that he doesn't want you to expect things from him, and you should hear this message loud and clear. Guys aren't as dumb as they act. They know the significance of birthdays, Valentine's days etc especially early on. Don't listen to the pickmeishas in your life. M…

A boyfriend of mine once joked "I wish you would at least BRING your purse when we go out... " Didn't stop him always paying though. He was chuffed to do it. An HVM should always want to pay. Then when you're so overwhelmed by his generosity you treat him back occasionally. As a treat. None of this chipping in business, you don't need to prove how "fair" you are, men don't fall in love with fair. If you're still caught up on "fair", think about how much more time , money and energy you spend on …

It sounds like too much damage has been done both ways. It's very sad but it's not likely to just get better on it's own. If you're not both willing to see a counsellor together (I understand your disillusionment with mental health professionals), I would start processing the fact that it's time to end the relationship and continue healing single.

I agree that they're a tiny percent and it comes down to luck but I'm responding to the despair in this post/responses with a glimmer of hope. I used to believe no man was capable of being HVM in this society (was friends with a lot and saw them in their "natural" state - porn, strippers, tinder, cheating 🤢) and this made me so depressed. I'd given up on men and then a wonderful one found me. He proves to me every day that HVM do exist. I wish I'd known this a long time ago. That's all I'm sayin…

I'm with a HVM - they do exist. He is genuinely a good human being, loves me, highly empathetic while also masculine and successful, is kind and generous, too busy being productive to be have bad habits like gambling/porn, needs an emotional connection to enjoy sex, enjoys my pleasure more then his own... I could go on. But he does notice beautiful women. The longer I'm with him, the more I trust him, the more I'm like "ah let him enjoy it." No disrespectful staring though.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/06/20 12:37 PM

You have to ask this question? It's not a red flag - a red flag is a warning of possible bad treatment in the future. He is treating you badly now! Pressuring you to satisfy him with no consideration for you or your safety or comfort. He has zero care for you and is trying to use you. It's a "no", it's a block.

When you feel afraid, you should definitely listen to those feelings. Start documenting any contact attempts in case it escalates when he moves to your state. Have a file that you can take to the police in case you end up needing a restraining order. Also make sure you let a couple of trusted people know what's going on. I hope he gets over it and leaves you alone but stay safe.

I see your point with that too! Dilemma - How do you show a guy that you're not cool with being treated like you're unimportant without making them feel important by getting upset/angry. When this has happened to me before we've met I've not taken it personally and given a 2nd chance only because you're still just a picture in the sea, but they would have to initiate and plan the second attempt and if they flaked on that, block and delete. I have never in my life gone down on a guy before he's gone down on me (way back to my first boyfriend in high school). I'm not sure why I did this but it just felt right. I haven't seen the Shera7 videos but I feel like what went wrong was not that your expressed disappointment, but that you "said he hoped he managed his time better next time." Are you leading with the "sexual person/love to flirt" too early/too much when you meet a guy you're interested in? Because HVMs don't have a sole agenda (ie easy sex) and are open to possibilities, willing to explore things, get to know you and allow connections to evolve naturally. As soon as you get "What are you looking for on here?" just block. It translates to "I want easy sex, will you give it to me?" 100% of the time.

"Many many men go through life never ever experiencing what it's like to be pursued sexually" This is why I (now) only date confident, experienced men who due to their charm, attractiveness and love of women have had their pick. Don't judge yourself, we're already judged unforgiveingly by society. Be the best you can be while accepting who you are. Turn your judgement onto the men you date. Know what you want in a man, how you want to be treated and how you want to feel in a relationship. Don't compromise on this (at all) and you'll be okay dating. I literally don't understand how you can miss when you have a hose to hold?? Are they just not touching it and letting it piss rogue?

My concern with guys younger than me is that they were raised on hardcore online porn. I did date a guy 8 years younger and he and his friends had consciously gone porn free because they were genuinely frightened by the effects it was having on them - addiction, escalation, death grip etc If you can find one of those, maybe. Otherwise I prefer the older guys who were lucky to find a Playboy in the attic.

They do it infuriatingly bad on purpose so you don't ask them again. Incredible isn't it how men can be at one time world leaders and incapable of simple domestic tasks...

Just say "no thanks" when a guy asks you for a house date (or something else you don't want to do). It's up to them to come up with something else and to work out how to please you. Stop doing their work for them. They only treat you like crap as thanks.

Yes but it doesn't compare to the constant heart-aching, gut-sinking disappointment you'd be living if you settled and got into a relationship with them.

I had exactly this experience early in a relationship and it turned out to be my worst relationship ever. It was a freaking red flag and I even knew at the time that it made me feel deeply unsettled for some reason but couldn't pinpoint why and I pushed that feeling down. NEVER AGAIN.

I dont do it to judge if he's a piece of shit (that's a lot more complicated). I do it to gauge how serious his interest is - a month seems just the right amount of time for a guy to lose interest if he's just wanting sex or fun. If you're feeding a guy with lots of interest and attention early on, you're not able to clearly judge his level of interest - most guys will just go along with you for a while if you're making easy.

Why do they do this? Because they don't actually care what you think or have to say. And they don't like "uppity b*tches" who have the nerve to point this out. Block+delete.

Definitely don't spell it out - just pull away and put your focus elsewhere. It might jumpstart him, but most likely if he hasn't committed in that time he'll drift off or start acting like a douche which is time to block+delete.

Weed out those LVMs fast and make space for a guy who is serious about you. It can take time. A long time maybe. But wasting energy on losers who are playing with you is not a good way to pass that time.

From my (lengthy) dating history, if a man is going to fall for you, it happens early. This doesn't mean they're acting in a crazy love bombing way, but they make their intentions clear and you can feel their seriousness. If a guy I was dating wasn't showing commitment within the first couple of months, I would move on (and I would always still be entertaining other men at this point anyway).

When a man compares my looks favorably to another woman ie "You have a better butt than her", I say "I'm not in a beauty contest with the rest of the women on this planet thanks"

Wow. Could he have made a more pathetically obvious desperate attempt to prove he "still had it" if he tried?

It depends on the level of commitment they've shown. If they've made an awesome effort with enjoyable dates, told me how they feel about me and made it clear I'm their girlfriend and in an exclusive relationship (all without me prompting), I would start occasionally reaching out first. But only light things like something funny I saw that would make them laugh - no planning dates or asking for attention or anything like that.

Living on your own to develop independence and confidence can be a really good move. But you do it because you want to, not because some guy told you to or gave you an ultimatum. He's not your Dad and him trying to parent you "like his parents did" is patronizing and insulting.

This would be good to see. Women are here because they want to meet and date HVMs and it would be motivating to see posts about what to look for instead of just what to avoid.

Too true. Just need to watch a couple of eps of To Catch A Predator to see how many NVMs are trying to get away with it despite it being a crime.

All the filth in the comments with their "but it's legal in Timbuktu to sleep with a 12 year old" "it's all relatttiiivvve" "why can't I prey on 14 year olds in my state waaah" So disturbing that the only thing holding these creeps back is the law.

I learnt not to text or call first at all for at least the first month. Guys love it. If they're into you, they enjoy the space to chase. If they're not, it's damn clear damn fast. Simple and stress free.

Initiating. In any form in the early stages. Eg Texting. Calling. Suggesting dates. Making moves. Introducing friends and family before he has. I learnt to sit back and let them prove themselves to me.
