Frankly most of them can get partners, especially casually, but can't get the validation they desire from it. This is a question of validation more than sexual needs

I think you underestimate how much they offer due to being stuck on physical appearances. Being a great dom makes a guy look better to a lot of women than having a high height for example.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/22 11:19 PM

Heterosexual men can more openly publicly express sexual attraction and such with less stigma. This is a weird one though because sex is getting more and more private over and I believe it's due to this imbalance. I think it's possible the bulk of men don't really experience this benefit at all, especially if they miss out on high school. I more want to fix this because I want to bring back older times when sex and dating were more Integrated with people's social lives. I think a lot of men's pr…

Yes, I'm completely unwilling to date women who use online dating. It shows they are unwilling to do real socializing and have to rely on a crutch instead. That's why I refuse to use online dating, I want to actually meet people and form relationships properly

The top comment sums it up well, but I think there's an additional element at play: K and r temperaments. Men with r temperaments tend to be less attractive in many ways, but they also actively seek out much more reinforcement on their self image of attractiveness. K men spent their time developing and will generally need to make an active decision to go out and attempt to be sexually active, and due to their temperament may very well never get the same volume of reinforcement that r men get, ev…

No. Sociosexuality and SMV are different, but some people confuse them, especially men. Many high SMV men don't want to sleep around, and many low SMV (or inexperienced) men think they want to sleep around but won't like it if they actually do it. This is obvious to women but a lot of men have trouble with it. I think our society has actually solved the problem of providing sex for high sociosexuality men with low SMV through swinging and polyamory. If those don't appeal to you then you aren't h…

I think that's probably the case. I'm personally low sociosexuality so I can't speak to what's ideal. But from the people I spoke to about this I got an impression their relationships could be done better.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/22 12:45 AM

I was asking why some people seem to want to sleep around less when they are older. I concluded it's a product of frontal cortex thickening.

Yes high sociosexuality is promiscuity.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 03:21 AM
2

I made that claim because at a fundamental level low sociosexuality people have it easier to get an LTR than high sociosexuality people due to the preference for it and lack of competition. This is for two people of the same sociosexuality. Two low sociosexuality people who find they are compatible are easily able to make one last years. Two high sociosexuality people both have bigger competition and reasons to leave. High sociosexuality people can meet other people easier but this skews the kin…

Going back to this post I think you misunderstood because you didn't catch that I meant both people in the relationship are high or low SOI. Is this theory more clear when I explain it this way?

I'm talking about dynamics of SOI matched couples. I'll edit the OP to make this clear
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/22 05:09 PM

I don't see your point; regardless of your sociosexual orientation your partner could leave you for someone else. You don't see my point If anything, high SOI means you're more okay with the idea of an LTR falling apart because you're more willing to replace your partner. Except you clearly see my point I'm not sure if you misunderstood or something.

I wouldn't care as long as I can have a three-way with the robot
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 05:16 PM

I don't think being "good" itself keeps you from success. But I think without churches out there you basically need to be fanatical about it to get results. I think some medium SOI men can get results by messing with their psychology using drugs, but I don't think that's even an option for many men. But definely you need moral conviction in your strategy if you are going for the good boy route.

At first I thought this was unrelated to the op. Then as I read it it became clear that you understand the op way better than anyone else here, and have managed to express it in a way that emotionally resonates with people. I think you are probably still high SOI relative to me or even most men, but you are still having this feeling. I'm extremely low SOI, despite having a lot of attractiveness advantages. It's only recently that I've managed to come to terms with the fact that I'm really not bu…

I've never had a female friend offer to have sex with me for money. I feel like I missed out on a lot. Like I would have paid so many friends to have sex with me, but didn't. Your life must be full of so many cool sexual experiences from that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 07:24 AM

How many times have you bought sexual access this way? Personally I don't think it's a normal experience, but if you're happy with it then there's no problem with paying friends for sex

Where are you getting your indication about seemingly every woman having a very high partner count?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 05:29 AM
1

No it's not that. Women's attraction to men is very heavily based on their social relationships and positions. Average looking men suddenly start looking good when they know them and have positive feelings towards them. That's why there are so many gorgeous women with ugly men
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 05:26 AM

I'm actually a bluepiller who gets plenty of pussy. I'm just also involved with sex research
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 05:22 AM
1

I think that should be the case for high SOI men, but the difference is that it's easier to build attractiveness if you are low SOI, because it's more linked to things like career success, social circle, etc; less linked to things like facial attractiveness. I don't really want to get into economics and social mobility though. But I think the high end of social status that's realistically achievable is what you should go for as your role model.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 01:48 AM
1

That's outdated information. Women very much do approach men now when given the opportunity. But men don't even show up socially so women only rarely have that option. Go out and be socially active (and not in a majority male activity/space) and women will approach you, no need for dating apps.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 12:56 AM
1

Men are very respected but they never show up so there's a shortage
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 12:50 AM
2

It's true that women tend to have larger social circles. But that's more an issue of gender roles than people wanting to be around women. As a man you can easily provide value way in excess of the average woman socially, and develop a much larger social circle. There's a shortage of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 12:32 AM
2

Because if you actually did that you'd quickly realize that's not the truth. Most women find most men they know relatively attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/22 12:29 AM
1

They definitely do, that's extremely well established and well known in our culture. I think the issue is that we often place Incels more in that category, while they are in a different category altogether that has much more of an existential element to it. High SOI men who are unattractive will see the attractive high SOI men get women all the time and feel jealous, and then occasionally sleep with an ugly woman. Low SOI men who want to be high SOI will often find it impossible to have casual s…

I don't think most men are like this, I think specifically this is what Incels are, and what differentiates them from other men who can find a gf and be happy with that

This is a fascinating topic. One that I have lived but never seen talked about anywhere. Thanks for bringing it up. Thank you. I think because I'm more of an amateur evolutionary psychologist (at this point arguably just uncredentialed) than a redditor of this community it means I offer a fresh perspective Regarding your response, can you explain more what you mean? Are you talking about sexual freedom with a few trusted partners or more generalized friend/social group activities? I'm talking ab…

That's understandable. I've found workarounds, but they are more around managing to do everything I want with a select group of people I am close to.

difficult to not be envious and controlling of the high SOI women I get involved with and fall in love with Did you mean jealous or are you a lesbian/bisexual? Do you want to be them (envy), or are you afraid of losing them to higher SOI men (jealousy)? found work arounds for my naturally low SOI What work arounds?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 10:35 PM
1

Have you ever actually tried to date women? Not online dating but actual dating of people in common social circles
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 10:17 PM
1

What you are describing is a slightly differently conceived mismatch, but I believe fundamentally the same kind of mismatch
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 09:07 PM
2

I'd disagree with that. Because often unattractive high SOI men will reduce their standards to the point of getting laid, while lower SOI men won't. It's linked to disgust reaction and dopamine receptors
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 08:50 PM
0

Sociosexuality seems to be primarily a biologically determined thing due to dopamine receptor polymorphisms, not a culturally determined thing. With this in mind someone can have culture demand they go one way when biology is making them go another way.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 08:02 PM
2

Why do you think that they want an unrestricted sociosexuality but have a restricted one? Do you think they are being unduly influenced by societal pressures to have an unrestricted sociosexuality? Yes. I think they are being influenced by societal pressures, and without it they would almost all just enter ltrs at relatively young ages and be happy with their sex lives
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 07:54 PM
2

They are socially overwhelmed by it and cannot act cool around it. That's basically it. They are fundamentally not comfortable with it happening too early despite saying otherwise
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 06:55 PM
6

That is not what I'm saying. I'm saying Incels are overwhelmed by anything that could lead to early sex, but also will give up on anything that will give them sex in the long term, because they have mismatch between what they want in theory and what they want in practice. A woman who wants to have sex early overwhelms them, a woman that wants sex after waiting a month or two is their perfect match but they will perceive her as being manipulative or money-driven over it
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 06:25 PM

Shit, I actually talk about sociosexuality IRL, and I had to google "SOI" -- it means Sociosexual Orientation Inventory. This is plebbit, you should define what you are talking about. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociosexuality -- "willingness to engage in sexual activity outside of a committed relationship". Edited the OP to clarify Anyway, I agree and women hate the madonna/whore baggage that a lot of guys are carrying around, especially the "madonnas". A lot of the game is putting out a non-…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 06:23 PM

I think Incels mostly only feel the way they do because they want women with high SOI and will not feel validated by women with low SOI. Like they want casual sex in theory and not in practice, and as a result they beat themselves up over not getting it
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 06:13 PM
3

What I am saying is that I think a lot of men who feel bad about perceiving themselves as unattractive are low SOI and that causes their issues
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 05:54 PM
1

This is interesting, but what does it have to do with the post? I'm talking about people wanting sex on the first date
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 05:40 PM

I was bullied, personally, I think it made things worse for me dating-wise, but general social awkwardness was the real issue for me
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 03:08 AM

I disagree with that. I think it’s only tangentially related to money. Putting your career first shows that you have confidence and care about something. You can be a philosophy professor and make basically nothing and get a similar benefit to what many men with high paying jobs have. Not all but similar. I think career is an interesting thing not a money thing
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/22 01:59 AM
1

I think that last part is right and pretty universal even in restricted sociosexuality women. I think if you’re going for a restricted strategy it needs to be a career you’re placing as your highest priority instead
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/22 09:28 PM

I think I figured out the answer to the problem. Some people say it’s aging or having kids, but I think it’s really about a combination of intelligence and exhaustion of evolved stimulus pathways. Idk whether this is true, but I’d guess swingers tend to be older people who were unable to live lives in accordance with their temperaments when culturally normal and never burned out their stimulus pathways like many other high SOI people. The only way to really figure this out is to survey swinger c…

I think I’m a lot more scientific minded than most people on this sub. I’m not an evolutionary psychology researcher, but I got pretty close to being one. That explanation makes sense. I’ve always been more of the view that men want to be polygamous, with the dark triad causing opportunistic adultery. I think it’s likely SOI to some extent conflates sexual Machiavellianism with sex positivity. I’d imagine likely a lot of polygamous men will have low SOI when it comes to things like rape myth acc…

Yeah that makes sense, I guess I'm more wondering why we have evolved that way. Maybe like a successful promiscuous man in a tribal setting realistically would only have ten partners or so, so there's no utility in evolving anything to motivate them past that level. If that's the case then maybe it would be good to create a society where every man basically universally has ten casual partners and then becomes more altruistic due to perceiving his genes as spread out across society. Maybe humans …

It's actually a well established phenomenon that high SOI men don't display a reduction in testosterone when in relationships or after using kids, so this is unlikely. I'm more interested in men who seem to have exogenous decreases while single in their twenties
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/22 04:21 PM
1

I'm thinking of decline among single people aged 18-25 rather than partnered people. Do your have any explanation for that?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/22 04:12 PM
2

Personally I was most interested in this due to wanting to understand the behaviour of a specific male friend. From age 14-20 he had around 40 partners and then from 20-23 has had none and been solely attempting to find ltrs. He seems almost identical to me in personality otherwise. He said it was due to casual sex being boring, but I'm interested in a biological explanation
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/22 04:06 PM
6

Another explanation is that social pressure makes some people with naturally low SOI behave as though it's higher, as well as the environment making it easier for them to behave in those ways. Kind of the opposite of the person who was raised religious and leaves at 21 and becomes a complete slut.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/22 03:35 PM
1

Well a lot of evidence indicates someone's tendency to sleep around is biologically determined, so it declining with age is unexpected
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/22 03:27 PM
2

Is this a commonly held idea?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/22 03:09 PM

That is interesting. It contributes to my theory that there was some kind of confounding variable in female sociosexuality that made the faces possibly predict different things

Your response gave me another idea. Maybe men don't really have a strong tendency to differentiate short term and long term relationships, so the attraction to the women for short term relationships was what was selected for, and long term was not selected for in comparison. I would guess at least part of it is unrestricted women like sex. Men like sex. It adds up pretty nicely. Meanwhile an unrestricted man might knock up another woman and now his resources aren't 100% directed at her kids. I'm…

From this study https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1090513808000032?via%3Dihub here is the image https://imgur.com/a/miru67C but I don't think merely looking at them will help much. I find the woman more likely to cheat (right) more attractive too, but I am wondering why I evolved to see her as such, instead of the woman on the left who is less likely to cheat
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/22 03:30 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
