Curious, I’m from the US and bilingual from my undergrad (Spanish). Are you from a place that has a lot more exposure to languages? Finding a bilingual man wouldn’t be impossible here but trilingual would be exponentially more difficult. Wondering if this is a culturally influenced standard :)

Fun fact I learned from an RN, when there’s an anal prolapse her doctor would usually say to tuck it back in. To take a step farther, put a little sugar on it and it’ll suck back up apparently?? The demographic of their patients was geriatric age though... and porn stars are experiencing in their 20’s and 30’s....

It also lowers your immune system function (body is putting that energy towards more productive things, like, survival) and long-term your immunity goes down. I learned this one semester when I was taking on too many jobs and classes. When the break came, I was sick four times in a month. Usually I get sick once or twice per year. This makes me wonder... if you have friends/family who get sick a lot, maybe they don’t show it (or realize it) but it could be a sign of an abusive relationship.

If you don’t have anywhere else to go now, what makes you think you will in a couple months after moving in with him? A lot of issues can come up during those first couple months. I say this from experience. I moved in with my ex after almost a year of dating for similar reasons as you. We broke up two months after. Moving it makes it extremely difficult to leave at the drop of a hat and leaves you vulnerable. Don’t do it, sis.

I had a breakup with an ex who I lived with (BIG MISTAKE OMG NEVER MOVE IN WITH A BF) and moved out a couple weeks after. I can’t imagine waiting until May and still sleeping in the same bed as him. But it got sooooooo much better when I was gone.

Plan B in the store still costs $40; they know they can get that amount out of you. I’m assuming they stopped with the pharmacist to make it more comfortable for women. Birth control in general has gotten a lot better; I was on government insurance when I decided to get a copper IUD. Obamacare paid it 100% no questions asked. It’s a $500+ operation normally.

You can get plan B from Amazon for around $10! I keep some not just for myself but for roommates and friends. I’d make him pay the 40 every time tho 😂

Once, a Staples employee hit on me; he made a beeline for me across the room and wanted me to take his number and I’m like, uhh, no thanks I have a boyfriend! He still wanted to give me a number. Not flattering at all; I haven’t been to that Staples since.

Relate so hard! I’ve worked out at the gym for years, but last year mine closed due to COVID so I went to the store to get some basic equipment. This man in his 60’s (fellow customer) comes up and tells me ALL the unsolicited advice. I would NEVER do that to another person, I can’t imagine why men think it’s appropriate

Unless they are long term caregivers, men who live with their parents over the age of 30 are automatically LVM and not worth dating. If they haven’t grown up by then, they never fucking will. Case in point: I have a LVM uncle in his 50’s who has lived with my grandmother (his mom) for roughly 8 years. He lives in her casita and she charges him $400/month in an area where she could easily charge double. He STILL cannot make rent and only pays her half of the time. He had an opportunity in his 20’…

If a man tells me one of his love languages is physical touch, it’s more of a green flag than a red flag because touch is extremely important for my happiness. BUT - and this is a big BUT - it’s vital to go through the vetting and waiting process. Provided enough time, you can usually figure out if a man approaches physical touch with a HVM or LVM attitude. HVM attitude is: nonsexual cuddling, hugs, massages, small touches, hand holding, kissing, sex, etc. A true physical touch love language can…

Not to mention, like attracts like! If I do end up married, it will be with a man who is smart, funny, intelligent, makes a good income, maintains a clean home etc. However, I don’t have a single requirement that I don’t follow personally. Being a HVW is part of attracting HVM. I personally wish FDS would cover this more. I’m part of several field-related/self improvement subreddits but I would love to see the concepts in comparison to this sub.

I love this! I was visiting a woman for work recently; I could tell from the first 5 minutes of speaking to her that she was well educated. She shared she was retired from a lengthy career in University education and has worked in every STEM field. She has an undergrad in mathematics and a graduate degree in organic chemistry. We had a lengthy conversation about her career, women in STEM and even religion. I was internally geeking out the whole time because I LOVE meeting the women before us who…

When I was 14, my family and I went on a trip. We stopped at a grocery store in my small town to pick up a Redbox movie. I ran in, wearing jeans and a t-shirt (USA) and waited in line with my mom’s credit card. A man in his 20’s approached me and started hitting on me and giving me compliments. I was clearly not interested (and fucking scared) and then his friend walked up, commenting, “Wow man! I can’t wait to be in my 40’s. By then I’ll have an established career with years of experience, own a home, have lots of time to pursue hobbies and spend time with family/friends, and be able to take vacations to fun places. So much more freedom. I’m graduating next year, then two more years of this. I need to get into grad school to make all of the above happen and it still may not be enough. I want nothing more than to have this part of my life behind me.

My dad is the only confirmed HVM in my life! He and my mom got married when he was 33. They met through a mutual friend - one of his best friends; my mom dated this friend for over a year and he asked her to marry him multiple times but she said no, lol. They later broke up and my dad asked permission from his friend to date her.. my parents had not met at this point, they knew of each other but were introduced through mom’s cousin. If being in love is like a drug, you need to look at your other relationships and develop them. Maybe one of those relationships is a vibrator. Do what you gotta do, sis. Having healthy non-romantic relationships is the only way to prevent yourself from getting into that high and the low that follows, which drives you to lower your standards for the next guy who treats you poorly.

Why are women so picky and only go for the top tiny percent of men? It is natural for women to expect to be with someone of equivalent value as themselves, and it just so happens that only the top tiny percent of men have equivalent value as most women. Even "average" looking women are still quite pretty, whereas "average" men are not. Physiology teaches us that, evolutionarily, females are the choosers. We set the standards for reproduction. One example is birds. Only ~5% bird species have peni…

Yes agree with you 100%! Short women are the most dateable to the most men. They will almost always get preference. I’m a mid-twenties woman and I’m glad you mentioned this. The only man I’ve met who prefers tall women is my uncle, who is 6’7”. He feels like he’s dating a kid if he dates someone under 6’0”. This is one of those things people don’t understand until they’ve lived it.

5’11” here, I feel you so hard sis! Have you seen that Netflix movie Tall Girl? It was infamous for a while, lots of people were making fun of it. I thought it was over exaggerated but I could definitely relate with the first scene where she sees a cute boy and he’s spooked by how tall she is. I guess that’s the difference between boys and men 🤷🏻‍♀️ if dating a tall girl is intimidating, you do not bring enough masculine energy to my table.

I think it takes experiencing the LVM/NVM to truly understand and have the foresight to filter them out in the future. We gotta experience what not to look for, not just be told. Last weekend I went on a date with a mechanical engineer who attended Purdue. He was smart, funny, successful, told great stories. He was also cheap (split the bill, I’m not an expensive date) and had the audacity to plant a kiss on my cheek at the end of the date without me looking. A few years ago I would have been li…

Exactly! There’s nothing wrong with trades. My boyfriend is in construction and recently brought up becoming a plumber. It’s in VERY high demand in my area; the current supply of plumbers can’t keep up with the demand. He personally knows a plumber who makes 90k/year doing independent work. I also feel “trickery” like this would make us LVW. What kind of woman would be willing to waste time and energy on trickery? It’s an indication of low self esteem and respect. If anything, this sub is about building up those things and empowering women. Not bringing us to the LVM level of trickery like making false promises and portraying someone who isn’t real.

If a man isn’t interested in me, he is not a HVM. He could be the richest, kindest, most loyal person on the planet. It wouldn’t matter, he’s not a HVM for me. We don’t want to date people who don’t want to date us. There are plenty others who ARE interested.

Would it be out of the question to consider a mental disorder? Many people become different as they get older due to things like dementia. I’m a CNA and used to have this wonderful, spunky client in her mid-80’s. She has a severe spinal issue which causes her to hunch over when she walks and she is in a lot of pain. She is embarrassed by her condition, but she thinks and acts like a total queen. She’s dating a man who treats her this way too. Your experience reminds me of an English professor I had a few years back at a Christian university, she knew a couple from my school who just got married and the girl was a few inches taller than the guy. I kid you not, she based an entire lecture on “wHy iS tHiS sO sTiGmAtIzEd” and I remember thinking yeah, why is it?!? My boyfriend’s ex-wife cheated on him with his father. The affair started before they got married. Bf didn’t say jack shit about it or complain to me once because he did the work of processing the betrayal and healing on his own before we met. You’re 100% right. I’m a CNA and something similar was mentioned in our class. Women are more likely to care for their husband longer as they develop serious medical conditions like dementia. As soon as a woman starts to get sick, her husband will almost immediately take her to a nursing home (1-2 years). A woman will take care of her husband alone for several more years (sometimes 10+) until she finally decides it is too much. This phenomenon literally skews data to make it seem like women get dementia sooner tha…
