Not entirely. Having a mutated chromosome (y) gives us both distinct advantages and disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that it only takes a mutation on the x or the y to cause cancer or a host of other ailments. Where as with women, there needs to be a mutation on both x chromosomes before a similar result occurs. Also, the mitochondrial DNA is not to be overlooked.
