I’ve never heard of the idea of someone deserving our last name. Our father’s name and all those that came before. Over a year into separation/divorce and never heard that. Thanks for sharing that little nugget!

She took our two dogs too. Many things just, but that betrayal is there.we don’t have kids, so we treated them like such. It was such a mean thing to do.

This. All of this. You have to have self-respect for yourself and not allowed negative behavior. I learned this the hard way. My ex totally changed how she treated me. I was afraid of standing up for myself/setting boundaries because it meant I could lose her. So therefore I kept those boundaries down. Ironically, I think j had I kept those boundaries up, we may have stayed together or our marriage would have ended sooner. Either is better than what happened.

Right here with you on this! Memorial Day was awful, today is better. Summer 2023 was a lot of healing.

Months late reading this post and I totally get it about the wave. That’s definitely how I feel. Sometimes I’m hurt beyond reason, sometimes I just don’t care. It’s totally weird.

I totally get this. I’m 2+ months into a separation. Divorce was never an option for me but I guess it was for her. Hit me like a Mack truck.

Not sure what you mean by this. Wife asked for separation and now divorce. It’s been a few months.

I have thought about this. I guess my religious beliefs/morals are so against divorce outside of infidelity or abuse. I thought her and I were on the same page on that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
