The only thing I dont regret about my former marriage is my daughter. I'm a firm believer that the 2 parent husband and wife home life is the best to bring a child up in. HOWEVER it's been 2.5 years since my divorce and the ex and I have made our kid the priority through all this. So she's coming along fine. Payed cash for unexpected car repairs, had my brakes freeze up, gouged the hell out of everything by the time I got her off the road and stopped. Oh yeah, my daughter and I are closer than ever. There's no more tension in the air. My house is a place we can both chill out and be ourselves. Thanks! I'm not a high earner so it's been work to get my expenses down enough that I can save a reasonable amount . I bring home about 2600 a month and I'm able to squirrel away about 1000 of that most of the time. It doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room but I saved over 13k last year so.... it's working!! Edit:this includes a pension I get from the Army monthly, so combined the two should see me comfortable.

Honestly I loved the game, ive got it on series X and have dumped well over 130 hours into it, half way through my second playthrough now. It's got some anti capitalist, eat the rich shit in it, but in that world it makes sense. Probably one of the best looking games I've seen, especially at night. Ran into this as a Combat Medic, I can give a soldier a chest tube, do a venous cutdown for an IV, and push morphine if I felt it prudent. I was in Sadr city back in early 04. There are as many "ways" to go your own way as there are men to go them. From hard core monk mode to unrepentant man whore. Dont let the fact you dont meet an arbitrary definition decide whether you belong. Take your time, better yourself, put in the hard work and improve you for your own benefit. Built out a cool ass entertainment system, Lgcx 55 inch oled tv, Xbox series X, polk Magnifi soundbar, and some Arctis 9x headphones. Dropped right at 40 pounds this year off my fat ass. Built some sandbags, for workouts. Next on list is new water heater install, and probably a bathroom tear out. 1970 avocado green bathtub aint cutting it any longer. May put in a Japanese soaking tub, definitely installing a bidet.

I fully understand and appreciate the advice, I've been wrestling with that very thought for a while. Mathematically investing is the smarter choice. But humans aren't necessarily completely rational. For me having a paid off house in 3 years is like Having a FOB (combat outpost) To fall back to if things go sideways. the Security, savings in interest, and equity won me over to the paid off home argument. Even if I fully see why others might choose differently.

Household income got cut in half after the divorce, EXPENDABLE income went through the roof. I'm able to save, AND, buy myself reasonable items. Before if money was left in the account after bills were paid it drifted away. Now I'm at 6 months Emergency fund, and have started paying extra payments on the house.

Did you take an electrolyte drink? Most folks that have issues fasting have trouble because their salts get out of whack. Yeah debt that makes money is wayyyy better than debts that were created because I wasn't patient enough to pay cash for what I wanted.
