Thomas signaled that the amendment protecting unmarried individuals from obtaining birth control (including condoms) should be up for review. Additionally, condoms are a method but alas not foolproof. Many of your brethren do use condoms and have ended up fathers.

Right, that was everywhere last Thursday. But now men who are in trigger states will become legally financially responsible if a pregnancy happens there. How can the men’s rights movement best protect those men from an unwanted pregnancy?

I could understand and agree with that argument before yesterday. How do you feel today about mothers and fathers in states with trigger laws. Meaning, if two people have sex that results in an unwanted pregnancy and the mother has no legal means to obtain an abortion, is the father now on the hook for child support?

Hurt people hurt people. Doesn't make it right, and I'm not preaching empathy for cruel people, but it does make it easier to brush off. People who lash out are not worth your time or energy.

I think you'll start to see this more often as you age. When I was 20 I couldn't get enough, but after two more decades it's lost the panic of "right now". Not to say that I don't still enjoy it, but keep in mind that hormones play an important role in need vs. want. Birth control, outside stressors, life all affect our desire levels and we need to pay respect to our bodies without media shaming. In a nutshell, do you. Enjoy it, because your mid-20's are so much fun. Universe willing, you'll exp…

"Doesn't speak until spoken to" is not a quality I want in a man. Why would anyone want a robot rather than a equal partner?

Hey, it's important to state that the CDC released this infographic years ago for health professionals - not to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

My test is always the "boob eye flicker". If I catch them doing the eye flicker, they are immediately relegated to the "necessary conversation only" category. If they can't figure out a way to look without being caught, they are not smart enough to hold a conversation with. Recently though, I did make a huge error. Building maintenance guy at work would always go out of his way to shake my hand and make small talk, but he would never make eye contact - just staring straight into my chest. I'm 5'…

If you're a mod, I'd love to discuss this. But according to ceddit, my post has been censored so I'm not sure if you'll receive this. The person who did post about some issues with the FDS recommended book, but if you review her postings on the subject (check ceddit or uneditreddit for her posts as they have been censored), you'll see that she wasn't debating fundamentals, she wanted to discuss the values of a book. Nonetheless, she was banned. It's weird and getting a bit cult-like that we can'…

I agree. It's one thing to make this a safe space for women to discuss issues, it is wholly another to call a segment of the population brain damaged and infer pedophilia. It's bigoted thinking and has no place in a discussion forum for women's dating strategy.

I thank my husband for doing the dishes daily, I hate doing them. Every day, he makes the bed, scoops the litter box, feeds the cats and sweeps the floor, I thank him for doing all of these because I hate doing them and it needs to be done. He thanks me for making dinner, buying groceries, keeping the bathroom clean and making his morning coffee. He thanks me because he hates doing these chores, but they need to be done. Gratitude is an important part of a healthy relationship. We are a team and…

Oh love, the way he's acting is not a reflection of you. It's him being himself, and it's not going to get better, You're right, if you challenged him on the hotel suggestion, he'd claim that you are overreacting and misunderstood him but we all know exactly what he meant. You're not exaggerating, you're trusting your gut. He's not worth any more of your energy. Don't let his treatment devalue your worth. Block and move on.

It took a year for him to hit me. A year of roses, telling me he wanted to take care of me (translation: I'm not allowed to work), telling me he wanted to fulfill my every whim (translation: I shouldn't need to talk to anyone else), telling me I was his world (translation: I'm now the center of all of his happiness, frustration, anxiety and rage so act right). FDS can only tell you some red flags but let me tell you, they invent insidious ones every day. Trust your gut, keep the communication be…

I'd like to discuss the flairs assigned to our contributors. Last night I noticed that a commenter had a "Pickmeisha" flair that she said she didn't notice until she disagreed with another poster in a calm manner. Below that was a teen (!!) who had a similar flair. I think this sub is an important resource for women and appreciate its value. I am concerned that the flair is being used as a passive-aggressive way to bully those who speak their mind. The opinions expressed weren't counter to the i…

My mother was terrible role model for a young woman. She married straight out of high school, had children even though she says (often) that she didn't want children, stayed in an abusive relationship for ten years then left only to marry a man who was also an abusive alcoholic. The only advice she ever gave me was to slip my boyfriend my credit card under the table so it looks like he's paying "they like to feel like they are in charge". Proud to say that I didn't follow in her footsteps - my o…

Allow me to tell you the tale of a friend. She's early 30's, an attorney, looks like Emma Stone's prettier sister, funny, kind and with the confidence of a supermodel. Now let me tell you about Clint. Clint is late 40's, balding on top but kept the rest of his hair shoulder-length, with a potbelly and random tufts of body hair. Clint also had the confidence of a supermodel, although for no discernible reason. He didn't have a permanent place to stay, worked as a night clerk at a shady motel, no …

This is one issue that took a lot of work with my husband, but I finally set his head straight a few years ago. We met at 19, back when I had long hair in my natural color and didn't wear much more than mascara. He had purple bangs, shaved head and wore a lot of patches and homemade clothes. Needless to say, our styles have changed over the 21 years we've been together. He kicked up a fuss a few years ago when I shaved my head, but has come around to the fact that I enjoy looking the way I do. M…

I'm so exhausted. Exhausted from figuring out why he's so quiet. Exhausted from finding out that he's worried about his car, exhausted from researching what it could be because he's too afraid to research himself in case it's expensive. Exhausted from finding the best way to recommend an OMB scanner compatible with his make/model and where he can buy it, but doing it without emasculating him. Exhausted from figuring out that he probably didn't put his gas cap on right which led to an evaporation…

This is a tough one for sure. I am creative. I am always open to a new experience. I am friendly and welcoming. I am really good with math, have a strong internal compass (not an allegory, I always know which direction is which and can navigate streets without a map), and have read most major great american novels. I am adaptable and capable in most surprise situations. Once I made a cop laugh as I was getting arrested. That remains my secret treasure...even when I know I'm in knee-deep shit, I …

I went to my first AA meeting the other day, it was one of the few that I found that was agnostic. It was also co-ed. One of the guys starts talking about the havoc that he has caused for the women in his life while drinking. Says many of them swore off of men all together after he left. He says he has a cancer diagnosis that came in last year (my heart dropped) but he has too much fear to follow up on it. He says "I guess I need a wife. They do stuff like that and I need someone to take care of…

I think this is an area where FDS ideology and my ideology divide. I have two friends who are in the stages of transitioning, one FTM, the other MTF. Recently, I found our a close friend's kid (who I have spent almost a decade with and love dearly) has come out to their family as ready to transition. It's hard to accept as I know the scary road ahead for them, but on the other hand we all knew that they leaned towards a very feminine spirit even as a young child. I would never support guilting s…

Tell him that it works because you're pretty busy too, not sure what your December looks like yet, but he should text you when he's available and you'll have a better idea. He could be playing games, or he could be swamped with the move. Either way, don't spend time waiting around.

The imaginary audience is such a big thing that I feel has only gotten worse with the rise of social media and image altering apps. There is such pressure to "live your best life" coupled with "pics or it didn't happen" that it causes serious peer pressure to always look and feel an acceptable way. I think there was a great Black Mirror episode on this. You're right on the money with your advice. The only way to combat this is to reconnect with ourselves, especially in nature or with animals. I have a three-pronged attack that may not work for all, but definitely work for me. Weekly trips to my local Korean spa. If you're not familiar, Korean spas are separated by gender because for the most part, they are mostly nude only spaces where people focus on the self-care of their body in a spa environment. The ritual cleansing of my body and focusing on listening to what it wants (saunas, steam, salt rooms, a nap (yes, there are rooms just for napping!) is a time for me to be alone with my…

I'm 21 years in with the same man and regularly read this sub to make sure I'm checking in with my needs. It's helped quite a bit. Recently he bailed on a planned date to a day spa. I was annoyed because I was looking forward to spending time together in a relaxing setting, but I told him that he was missing out and went by myself. Had a wonderful experience and when I came home, he had dinner ready and a plan to take me out the next day. I'm not going to beg him to spend time with me or rearran…

I agree with you, but feel the need to point out that we were both 18 when we were working in the grocery store. First job, first love, very lucky I agree. Edit: I understand that it might be weird for a a married woman who has had one serious partner in 20+ years to be here. I'm here because keeping a HVM man while remaining a HVW is equally as important as getting one.

I strongly agree with this. We all start somewhere, both men and women. I met my husband when we worked at a grocery store together in 98. Looking at him on paper, you'd never think he would be where he is now. But talking to him, watching him would show you. I watched him work his way up through the film industry, getting up at 4 am on a rainy morning as a production assistant and coming home drenched at 8 pm, only to do it the next day. He "walked the walk" for years, both dogsick and dirt tir…

What you are talking about is effort. He sees no reason to work if he doesn't "have to", so he doesn't. I'm all for quality time to build yourself as a person by traveling, learning a new skill, research or even beginning a strong healthy regimen habit, but if he's choosing to spend months hanging around the house watching tv and sleeping, it's a red flag. Maybe not a glaring red flag, but I think you should speak with him. Ask him what his plans are before he begins his thesis and how those pla…

I would have loved to have my mom talk to me about the media and it's subtle (and not so subtle) cultural socialization techniques. I read a post recently about a vintage Battleship advertisement that said "Fun for the Whole Family" but had mom and daughter in the background washing dishes. Although we have improved, the socialization has just become more insidious and subconscious. Just today there was a post of a billboard in Poland advertising hosiery using a battered woman. Find out which br…

Girl, get your head on straight. This guy is treating you like fast food leftovers and you're texting him asking for more. You've stated clearly what you expect, he's chosen to pick and choose the parts he wants (sex only, no intimacy, at a time and place of his choosing). You chasing him isn't going to net you the outcome you want. Buy a vibrator (it also won't cuddle, but then again neither did he) and erase his number. I'd like to add to this, spend time with your body. Treat her as you would a good friend; feed her well, walk with her where she wants to go, never speak harshly to her. We get one vessel to take us through this life and every little bit of you is worthy of your care and adoration. Take the time often for a long, hot bath to relax and scrub while showing gratitude for a healthy, happy body. Oh love, this is something many people deal with on both sides of the gender divide, all over the world, at every age. That voice in the back of our head knows just where to stick the knife to make it hurt. Please know you're not alone. I'm going to have to agree with the other commenter...it sucks, but right now you're going to have to focus on yourself and your mental health. This doesn't mean lifelong celibacy (because they are always going to be chasing you), but rather a time to look inward…

If he's not communicating with you at the beginning of a budding relationship, he's showing you who he is. Believe him. You're not going to be able to convince him to give you what you need. He needs to want you enough to ask if he doesn't know and fix it when he does. Anything less is a loss for you. Try casually dating around a bit.

I remember the first time I was called a "feminazi" back in 1997. I had just gotten back from seeing The Fifth Element and ate at a Shake n Steak afterward. The waiter asked how I liked the movie and I told him it was a male fantasy, some mute, naked woman in need of saving could turn on some magical powers in the end and "assist" the guy (but without speaking much or wearing a sensible outfit given their weather). Apparently, the waiter was a big fan of the movie and called me a "feminazi". It …

I have better orgasms from masturbation than sex. l don't have to worry about whether someone else is getting off when I masturbate. I don't have to bother with foreplay, and I don't get sweaty. Behold the "master" gender ladies. Let Darwinism sort them out.

What defines a high-value woman cannot be bestowed or taken away by a man. Does that make sense? If you are a woman with a rich inner life, someone who values herself as a smart, kind, strong, fill in the blank with the qualities you look to embody, you are a high-value woman. There are no "better" women, just different women. Work tirelessly to be your best self, the person you looked up to, the person you want future generations to look up to. That's different for all of us but the message sta…

If you're interested, I'm happy to speak on how my husband and I keep separate finances after 21 years together. We both run our own businesses (me, costume design, him, photography and editing) that have big expenditures that aren't shared. I don't want to share the cost of a new lens, he doesn't want to share the cost of a new machine, so we contribute to a fund where our shared bills come from. I grew up in a poor household where I had to account for every penny I earned after 16, so having 1…

This really means a lot to me that you are accepting of alternate viewpoints (provided we don't hammer our view at every opportunity). I would say I agree with 95% of the viewpoints here and as a married woman with a HMV, I feel that I may be able to add insight and learn things from the women here.

MY FIL is similar. His wife has to wake him in the morning multiple times (because he can't be bothered to set his own alarm or stay awake the first time), lays out his clothing, fixes him all his meals, cleans the house, does all the laundry and grocery shopping, works her job as a journalist and still settles down at night to watch what he wants. Fuck this shit. My husband bathed me for a week after a big surgery when I couldn't move my arm. When he had the flu, I carry/dragged him to bed and made sure he had everything he needed within reach. Don't settle for a man-child, insist on a full partner who takes on 50% of the work without question. It's the only way to equality.

I don’t agree with this philosophy. It's okay. This is what works for me, feel free to live according to your own philosophy. I won't judge. You don’t suddenly get a pass to look unattractive.... I never asked for a pass to be attractive in the first place, it's a curse that has us chasing increasingly impossible standards. I am finding that what makes me attractive to myself might vary from what society deems attractive. That's ok. And look, maybe you're right. Maybe he'll leave or cheat. But i…

When I was younger, I met a guy and moved across the country with him after only dating for 6 months. He changed his tune once I was away from friends and family, suddenly I couldn't have a job because "it was an insult to his ability to care for his queen", but this meant that "we couldn't afford for me to call home and talk to my mom all the time" and due to the neighborhood we lived in "it wasn't safe for me to go out alone, so it's best that I don't have a house key".
