most of the people I know wait for their partner to have fun. It's something they care for. Even in locker room talks.

corporal punishment has always been harsher for males. Nonetheless, this is a very effective method: Boys learn from an early age that they are held to different standards and have a ready made argument to all the feminist idiots during their school years - joke mode off.

I have to work, but here are my final remarks: It makes ZERO sense to discuss who has higher percentages, by a point or two. The point is to help victims. IPV (intimate Partner violence) has the effect that it creates a person who is acting like a victim in their lives and are being coerced into doing things. The bodily harm part affects few of the cases of domestic violence, as the most of those relationships are under the "hospitalization threshold". Being a victim in a constant state is no sm…

To that extent, we need to have a baseline, so that we can understand the causes of these issues, which might be separate for genders or even separate for parts of the gender. For the history, domestic violence rates are equal in percentages between genders (% of perpetrators and % of victims), but imbalanced in bodily harm (women suffer more serious harm in those cases). Sexual assaults are somewhat skewed "in favour" of women (women suffer more), but marginally, as men are being assaulted and …

The manosphere is the corollary of the worst parts of feminism and suffers from the exact same logical fallacies. It's doubling down on the dilemma "men vs women" and is trying to make a point that it's not women but men who are suffering. Nothing good can come out of a faulty logic, no matter how it is applied. The difference is the following: oftentimes manosphere is the only place validating the shitty experience of many young men and in the absence of other embracing communities, it might be…

It's easy: Women in school are getting better results in Language related courses for decades. This gives them preferential access to "desk-jobs", not necessarily the high-performance ones, but still very cushy compared to a hard life working with their hands or being in the army. Men on the other hand might be on the top of the scale in math performance and overall performance, but they are also failing school way more. That leaves them in a cohort that has not great options other than working …

Yes, rape can have a spectrum, same as every illegal action. This is a progress step for our society. For example we have involuntary manslaughter, but we also have a heinous murder. Indeed, we have the concept of statutory rape, where a cinematic concept with force is not necessary to define something as rape. Ideas such as coercion and reduced ability to consent are modern legal concepts and in their essence they are correct. Imagine having a daughter being raped in her marriage and no-one doi…

THE PREMISE OF THIS POST IS IRRELEVANT. I STOPPED READING AFTER THE TITLE. It is so ridiculous trying to compare things. Is it important if there is more misogyny than misandry? Is it more important if there is more skin cancer than liver cancer? Why do we need to make all these comparisons all the time? Nothing useful can come out of such comparisons. Period.

It is becoming less socially dangerous to call behaviors of women out and also speak up for male rights. Still a LONG way to go.

the question is, what is the reason to wear super revealing clothes on the bum compare to men?
/r/MensRights21/07/26 02:19 PM

that is a bit against the discussion. Yes men like to oggle women's bodies. But I honestly hope that men watching Female Sports are something more than a politically-correct version of Pornhub.
/r/MensRights21/07/26 02:08 PM

That's besides the subject. I don't watch Rugby par instance, I find it not to my taste. But men's rights and men's perception are overruning the specific sport and concern all of us.

And other men potentially. But most of men are not wearing "spray painted clothes", while performing their incredible feats of power on the Track or Field.

Here: two women forced by the bad-bad patriarchy to be sexualized. https://x.com/sexyfootbaIIers/status/1357263841411891205 So unfair that men don't have to wear this kind of sportswear.

I disagree with the premise of the question. It goes through many covert and overt simplifications, answering it requires a lot of undoing. It's exactly the type of reasoning that some people under the guise of feminism/equality are doing. Just in a corollary way. It's so difficult to define "feminists", as is difficult to define "men". Let alone defining "sociopath". It's our duty to avoide such inflammatory statements, as it only validates the reasoning of the crazy people out there.

It's my personal understanding, that men hating is only happening directly from say... 15% of the people who are supporting it. It's by making this kind of distinctions, that we shall be able to win people back.

I generally agree on the medical data, nonetheless, I disagree on the adverse effects. Effectiveness has been proven consistently to be great, when needed, and horrible, when not needed and used for lifestyle purposes.

It's important to see beyond the personal ideas on the exact policy decisions. The reason is simple: People focus on those and sacrifice respect for men in the process, blinded by their hate for the person or its decisions representing their position.

A way to see this, was that men and women (and children and old people) were working to the utmost of their abilities, until they were 105% exhausted, just to subsist. Until very recently in history, work at home was excruciatingly hard and would bring even a well seasoned labour worker of today to his knees - imagine having to make your own cleaning detergent, wash clothes with water that was carried, take care of animals, children that were often sick, take care of a big big family, mend cloth…

Before losing their rights, men lose their well being. They are disenfranchised in schools, they are being forced to follow social norms that are working against them, they have to remain silent, lest they want to be described as incels, they cannot have real influence on the way their children grow up, they are forced to yield to some crazy women at work, lest they want to have a bad talk with the HR. All this nonsense does take a toll.

attacking the person (Using a serious issue - Andropause as the pretend-reason) is the type of tactic I am trying to denounce. So, I will refrain from this kind of talk.

#2 is a non-factual generalization. Many people in this sub, me inlcuded, are fighting portmanteau generalizations. This type of generalizations is IMO one of the top-3 reasons, that Men's-Rights have been under attack for so long.

/r/MensRights18/07/26 12:23 PM

where am I wrong? I explained many times that TRT is indeed a very important therapy for those who need it. It comes nonetheless with side-effects and should be used very cautiously and not as care-free as statins for LDL for example.

People who hate men have taken the opportunity to launch vicious attacks against men and masculinity just because they can. I would rephrase into: People have taken the opportunity to launch vicious attacks against men and masculinity, because it's trendy and catchy and goes socially unpunished, unwittingly promoting men-hating. I don't believe that men-hating is akin to jew-hating from Nazis. There are levels on that thing.

Yes: 1st Argument: First of all, the numbers are not that horrible. Approximately 20%-30% pro rata is awarded to female founders - in the form of companies that are mixed-gender owned. This number only makes sense, if we talk about Female-only startups. 2nd Argument: Moreover, Venture Capital firms have zero feelings. They only manage ONE metric and that is Return on Investment. I failed to make my point and thank you all for helping me hone it. The point is that... the method that this is happening is being normalized. Now the method is being applied to a person who is very controversial and many people are (rightfully) happy to see him fall. But this method, will remain normalized, long after this guy has fallen. And that is bad for all of us. It's through the fringe cases that the downfall of human rights is being normalized and that is what we are witnessing right n…

the fact that an accusation is being treated like a conviction, in a world where we have evidence of innumerable false accusations is problematic. The fact that this is being used primarily against men, is also a gendered issue.

This is not the first person to ever have his thunder being stollen by an allegation for abuse by a woman. An interesting example that happened in front of everyone's eyes was the case of Joost Klein, one of the favorites for the european song contest Eurovision. He was accused to be making "unlawful threats" that included making intimidating threats to a camerawoman without touching her - all was caught on a video camera. He was immediately disqualified, instantly losing his dynamic. Eventually…

Your (act of presenting an) argument is ridiculous, in the sense that even presenting an argument for something that self-evident... is a loss. Normality should not even have to be defended with arguments.

I had not cried for years. I grew up crying a lot... very tense relations with my parents. I ended up in a very abusive marriage, that ended horribly (false accusations, partial parental alienation etc.). I did not cry. Became suicidal at times, but did not cry. Went to the funeral of my first cousin. We did not have any serious relationship. He committed suicide in slow motion: alcoholism. The reason: he grew up in the same environment I grew up. That is the time when I really cried. Enough for…

You not confused. First of all, it is treated as more important. Not only in the "open dialogue", which can be subjective. Many legal systems treat this murder as worse than the opposite murder, that means, that they give a harsher sentence. Many jurisdictions also provide protections for the women in danger of extreme violence (legal protections for the child, monetary support, shelters etc.) which are not available to men. Statistics are also doctored: Deaths by proxy (i.e. the woman employing…

This thing with femicide has become a portmanteau of excuses. Yes, it's a horrible and sensational thing. Now... imagine going to the doctor for colon cancer: Doc: I am afraid your biopsy came back, it's malignant Man: Oh... these news are bad. What are we going to do now? Doc: People with Glioblastoma in the brain... They die within a year or less.. Poor them. Man: I understand, but I currently have something else. Is it surgery or radiotherapy or both? I have started becoming more aggressive in such discussions. Anytime a woman is promoting this as something that is "OK" or tradition or whatever, I propose a double mastectomy. It has medical benefits, as it's reducing the risks for Breast cancer and sexual assault. It's also something she can affect on her own body, instead of promoting mutilation on others.
/r/MensRights24/06/26 08:58 AM

in principle you are very correct. Indeed I come from a country without racial tensions, so I may have used the term in the wrong way.
/r/MensRights24/06/26 08:45 AM
23

you missed the point: the same way that an external trait (the black race) was used to afford people less rights is the same thing happening today, when an external trait (being a man) is used as a means of becoming a person with less legal rights. What happened to black people was despicable. What is happening to men now should become despicable as well.

Would it be sexism to ask these women "when is the last time you wore some nice underwear and gave him a blowjob?"
/r/MensRights23/06/26 02:57 PM

the later is the biggest problem of all. It is the legal concepts that haver remained unchanged through the centuries, that have carried society through difficult times, of course being adapted for modern problems. But the Habeas Corpus for example, need not be changed, because... feminism, it still applies.

Making a factual comment, like "I would like to see father's day activities equal to what happened on mother's day" or "there is this research indicating X% of rape victims are male and I would like this fact being presented in school discussions about rape victims along female victims" is not easy to be laughed out in the open.

there are indeed many laws against the so called Stealthing (the male equivallent of this behavior), but none for the behavior you are describing.

the whole conundrum is definitely counter-productive IMO and going away from the actual goal of reducing unwanted behaviours.
/r/MensRights17/06/26 11:44 AM

it has had some positive changes somewhat, as in many legal systems, non-consensual sexual assault acts were not considered as serious from the legislation. So legislation has become tighter.
/r/MensRights17/06/26 10:43 AM

actually, the law is not gendered. But yes, fake or real rape accusations are statistically gendered.

/r/MensRights17/06/26 10:06 AM

I understand that this law is trying to stop a reprehensible act, where a bad actor is raping a person who consented to a kiss or make-out, but never wanted penetration or wanted to stop the experience short, but the bad actor is continuing their actions, based on the initial consensual activity (i.e. a kiss). But... how is this law helpful in that direction?

/r/MensRights30/03/26 04:01 PM

This discussion is the absolute example why mens`rights are just mirroring the tribaling issues of feminism. It is fully possible, that women have more rights than men as a whole and still lack in a specific area. It's fully possible that women are more priviledged for social reasons and however the legal rights being completely equal. Accepting those possibilities does not take anything away from mens' rights. But if a movement is based on fake data.... Then this is not nice.

The main Frankfurt train station area, a huge place is riddled with crime in the open. Apparently this does not have any kind of priority over people who somehow sexualized a woman online. For example here: a coordinated reporting from a major Vlogger, regarding a Police operation in the main train station of Frankfurt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftxxsEMam8Q He himself notes that it feels and is completely useless.

I don't think that they go that deep. Cause inciting outrage is a 2-step process. They are probably thinking in 1 step: Let's do our moral superiority duty, praising the hard times women go through.

that is another thing. non-STEM exists and is dominated by women.
/r/MensRights07/02/26 06:41 PM

Simple: Because the easy to do jobs (customer support, cashier etc) are more welcoming to women for a number of reasons: - school system promoting women in non-STEM - women are more preferable in some jobs (where sexiness is part of being there) - men could be shamed for working some jobs (being a hairdresser or a nail technician) - competition for men in corporate is much higher than for women. So someone who is not a deadbeat ,but also does not have many options... will have to go to these job…

actually, the problem is reducing the issue to one dimension. In practice, there were many dimensions. a type of Misogyny is rampant in the parallel domain of "chess". It has been maintained for decades that men are not supportive of women in chess (mild discrimination) but that they are also exhibiting predatory behaviours in tournaments, shaming a whole cohort of people playing chess. This has been backed by "scientific data", that is miscalculations on actual data, resulting in women achieving higher returns for participating in chess, compared to men.

not really. It's not decentering anyone, instead centers the individual and places them in charge of their social choices. If anything it decenters social expectations of interaction with the other gender in full equity as a co-pilot in life.

truth be told, a woman in a western society often gains an immunity to bashing men or using the dynamic of fake accusations or just riding this wave of "women are so capable and not recognized by bad society..." that enables many to showcase a really bad character.

MGTW is actually fighting for men, in that it acknowledges the choice for men to remove themselves from the discussion, provides acceptance to people who are making different choices than the typical societal roles, is providing integration and acceptance to people who are enjoying "manly" behaviours, which are often mocked by modern people (think lifting weights, having a shed in the woods, going fishing with pals, drinking etc.)

First of all, what we care about is the victims of violence. But even if all killers were exclusively men (which they aren't) that says nothing about the millions of men who are not (which is absolutely true). Secondly, the sad reality is that men and women are suffering from DV on the same percentages. Unfortunately, women suffer bigger damages (trauma, death), but this says nothing about the thousands of people suffering in silence.
/r/MensRights25/11/25 06:38 PM
2

A charity for (insert your interest group here) should only take care of their own. Nothing wrong here. But a women's charity claiming that DV only affects women and LGBTI people... is doing a disservice to society. Also, the scenario I am seeing here is that a woman is extrajudicially enforcing parent alienation, in a country with more options. Sorry, but that's all I am being presented with.
/r/MensRights25/11/25 11:15 AM

it's a fair point. while not discounting the horrible position many women have found themselves into... this mechanism is the typical mechanism used in parental alienation, especially in Greece. this charity is outright refusing to acknowledge that men can suffer This is not how those things are managed in this day and age. there are a few problems in every such discussion: Defining the party: there is no official definition of "normal feminist", therefore everyone can claim they are or they are not, everyone can claim that someone else is a "normal feminist" or they are not. That makes it sometimes difficult to differentiate your point of view. If for example you go to a march for equality and some supremacists show up with their posters, does that make you one? I cannot see myself dating a 30yo person. On one side, they are in a different life phase. On the other hand... big age differences are not common anymore. A 30yo girl dating me (40) would be someone with a fetish, broken father relationship etc in the general case scenario.

You are lucky guys: A woman who does not understand that just setting a random criterion, that limits her options to the 10% most wanted part of the market, will just make her dating experience so much worse... there is of course the issue of the definition. there is however the issue of the reciprocality: It's a different statistic if 9% of the population has become violent against their partner and a different one if 3% has become violent against a violent partner 5% has become violent against a non violent partner 4% has experienced violence while being non-violent themselves.

I am on your side. the problem exists. men are being ignored. But this does not negate the fact that in some contexts, being a woman has disadvantages. so many girls being told they are not to become something that is manly, many girls being told that they need a man, otherwise they don't have any value, women at work being sexually harassed etc. one happens and the other happens. While there is a ton of merit to that (e.g. males are called to "suck it" instead of opening up) there is an obvious blind spot: Men who open up are not being considered. But this kind of introspection is lucking from Psychologists these days...

take a look at "the pre-patriarchal societies" and I think you will understand. This argument makes no sense to me. There is nothing concrete into that. I would definitely agree that many men are directly opposed to women's rights. I don't believe you are indeed calling out misandrists in this post. But it's OK, we did find some common ground. I have to go.

Here is the key, to understanding my post: Many of the rights are oftentimes expressed as something stolen by "men", so it has to be taken back from them. What if however nothing was stolen? Then, this retribution results into an injustice. Other rights are made in a way, that satisfying them results in a female supremacy. So yes, mens rights are relevant in that case, are they are being oftentimes attacked by advocating for female rights. Now that does not need be. One is not necessarily opposi…

If you are referring to my post, I would like to state once again, that I do support women's rights and the need for a march. I completely disagree to the definition of those rights as something being endangered by "men" or something expressed as opposing "men". That is exactly what I am pinpointing with this post. There are a lot of "feminists". Some are addressing head on rights for women. Others are just focusing on bashing "men". I am with the first ones.

actually this is also a sign of times: There was the conventional wisdom to get a kind person who respects the woman, as being married to one meant a life-long commitment. Nonetheless, today having a boyfriend is more about elective enjoyment and less about the commitment to raising children and spending a life together. So it is easier for women to tend to the "alpha" stuff, as they won't be burdened by the character shortcomings.

Boys dominate the bottom bracket of jobs. Not only the backbreaking ones, where a woman could not perform, but also the dirty/dangerous/long-hours ones. That is due to a combination of factors, one of which you have touched here and one of which is connected with the worse performance of boys in language in school (i.e. more women take over low-tier jobs connected with a small degree, such as librarian, helper in a doctor's practice etc.). The solution is simple, nonetheless kind of hard to implement. You need to take the step of "setting boundaries". EXCELLENT ARGUMENT!!! "that system up" is just a generalisation that does not belong in any discussion about social matters. It does inevitably lead to fallacies. The same applies for "who". It was never one person or one group. Even in the cases where a King decides for a society, he does have to take the societal forces into consideration. Thank you for adding context. I think I made it clear, that the website is a satire website - I would make it even more prominent though. Tha issue that I see here is that mens rights are so low, that they are used in jokes. I am sure there were such jokes about slaves back in the time. I dislike those issues being connected to specific political parties and not being owned by all political parties, as they get connected to other specific ideologies, whereas they should be independent. Men who a…

There are two answers: One is going deep into the data and seeing things through, like how are "suicide attempts" reported or defined etc. It does not help, as it becomes a battle for details, with no end in sight and no useful meaning. The other answer is the right one: IT IS NOT A COMPETITION and the problems of one gender do not average the problems of the other genders. Men and women have issues and they express themselves in different ways. I am not a public health psychiatrist, neither are…

This is the very same fallacy in action: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/18/female-led-countries-handled-coronavirus-better-study-jacinda-ardern-angela-merkel Obviously Germany, a place where a woman does have a real chance of becoming a prime minister would handle Corona better than... whoever else.

I just finished my advocacy for science and ending bashing of men by analyzing a psychology paper. I only had the opportunity to read this paper diagonally so I would add that it suffers from a typical fallacy: It confuses correlation with causation. Yes, they do find a positive correlation but they don't consider other factors. A society where women are hugely underrepresented in executive levels is a relatively "unprogressed" society, whereas a society where women are given meagre opportunitie…

actually, the research does not say that. It says that it is the contact with men that prohibits women to function as normally as they function alone or with other women. And the reason is that men don't care about their partners. Regardless of your opinion, that is what the paper says and "proves".

I cannot have any kind of fun, when my partner seems to be not enthusiastic. My gut reaction is to say something corny, like... 90% of women claim to be victims manspreading... But imagine the tragedy, that someone is a victim of sexual assault and society does not even recognise this role to him, just because he is a man.

The fact that most of his stance is quite far from a middle point of view (I would go to say he is a misanthropist to some extend - but my opinion), makes him quite unlikable and I don't think he is promoting anything, as mens rights are being associated with extreme opinions.
/r/MensRights07/03/25 09:49 AM

The reason I am so sensitive about those details is that I as a victim of abuse (and this type of abuse as well) I was never believed by authorities/specialists/family. The reason is among others all this official communication that excludes men from the victim role.
/r/MensRights07/03/25 12:12 AM

This is a heinous form of abuse and every effort to raise awareness or support any single victim is honorable. Having said that... inclusivity is not exactly thought throughout: In the https://survivingeconomicabuse.org/what-is-economic-abuse/ despite the text being gender agnostic, the graphics, as well as the choice of the statistic insinuate that this is something that refers only to women

despite the obvious injustice, the long term effect of that is the establishment of the societal belief, that men are worse than women. This is the type of "bullshit research" that has been affecting scholars and trickling down to society for so long. It starts with the premise: "Just as the larger MRA movement emerged as a reactionary counterbalance to a feminist movement" - as if Mens Rights are not useful or inherently on their own. "MRAs construct a culture of false rape allegations to counterbalance a purportedly non-existent rape culture." So this is also problematic, as it denies other groups the ability to create "cultur…

The problem is that many people have heard of mens problems only through A.Tate. The problem is that J. Peterson is a greatly divisive figure, oftentimes for good reasons. The problem is that a MRM movement needs a positive messaging, where everyone can stand behind.

There has never been a "patriarchy" as such, as there has never been a time, when systematically "men" oppressed women. This is a new reading on times, that were not similar to ours. People are using arguments such as... "until 19xx" a woman in the State of "xx" was not able to open a bank account without getting a permission from her man. There are several factors that you have to take into consideration: - not all men complain about loneliness. It is a subset that is vocal and that reflects your (and mine) echo-chambers - Women work less hours and they do work easier jobs for the body, statistically speaking. That leaves time and mental space to connect with others - Women enjoy more the privilege of being flirted than men (statistically speaking). well, women had the option to go fight, whereas men did not have the option to not be drafted. Please keep my argument in sight: Life was more or less shitty for both of the sexes, compared to today's life. So using the plights of one gender (i.e. Female) to explain patriarchy as the equivalent of what the Taliban are doing to women in Afghanistan is wrong. That is all.

"pretty much what they wanted" - this had a different definition back then. Women had less "civic rights" (in quotes, as it was also not defined back then), men had harder lives (wars and more exposure to danger). I am just saying, there is a balance. I don't and I don't condone that. But please think of a time, when different life circumstances prevailed. Violence was widespread, wars and death was prevalent. The answer to injustice is not further injustice. The whole game has been setup as "men against women" and the basic answer to that is the "patriarchy", aka the concept that all men systematically have taken advantage of all women, therefore... men are bad and their rights need to be restricted. I don't know why you get downvoted. This is a tragic experience which can be life-altering as well. There is nothing to discount here. I hope that no lasting damage was made. I am positively surprised that you are separating the two "levels" of rape (or their extenuating circumstances), because being the victim can be a position that makes these balancing acts quite difficult. 2-5% false reports is a huge understatement. Depending on the study, it is appx. 5% of the reports that are proven to be false. However it is usually 20% of those reports that are proven to be correct from a judicial standpoint. So the intermediate percentage of reports are true or false?
