I have no idea about the politics of this guy.

I know that he was having his rising moment. One woman makes a public accusation that is completely unprovable about something that happened in 2021. The press and political opponents are hungry for such opportunities. The candidacy collapses.

I don't know if he did such a thing. He is the ideal victim of an accusation: He has some controversies following him, inlcuding sexting with women while married.

But... this guy is being punished for a crime that was never proven. This woman is not even taking the step of making a legal claim for this. Just plain up speaks against him. She is at least eponymous, in other cases, the names are remaining hidden. And that is enough to kill the trajectory. Presumption of guilt.

Now, some may ask "why didn't she speak up back then?". There are many legitimate reasons for a victim not to speak up and wait for years, so this would not be a legitimate argument. The real question is... How can a claim has such a profound effect?

On the politics side... here is an argument to think about: While one side of the aisle is having a moralistic civil war, with everyone engaging in the virtue signalling game, the other side is allowed to reign uncontested. Which resulted in a convicted felon for offenses related to sexual activity, a person who is talking about grabbing women by the pussy, being the president.

Has this moralistic civil war made our world a better place?

PS: My personal view on the issue is that if something is unprovable, then it cannot be punished. It is very unfortunate for victims and actually, more training is required in teaching everyone to ensure such crimes are being prosecuted with ample evidence.

Making such allegations about criminal offenses, outside of a court of justice, should be punishable.
