Great post. It's funny, I lost it after the writer saying that this was occurring in anthropological fields. Granted , this is anecdotal, coming from an anthro minor had never had a professor that didn't explicitly say, within the first month, that females, throughout history, have been at a survival and power advantage over males. If you think any person that is trained and knowledgable enough in "the study of humanity" to be a university professor, would believe that they could get away with a…

The point of contention I have with your post is you say what the women "were wearing" ans what the men were required to wear. Was everyone required to wear professional clothing or was it just the men? Did the women disobey the rules? If so, you probably could have too.

Yeah. I had made a post about this on /r/trueaskreddit yet it didn't gain traction :(. When I had first hear of this case I thought it would be a bit more controversial as to which way it would go (as sexual assault cases are typically very ambiguous) but it seemed very obvious to me.

I don't think this is that wrong. I think this guy harbors strong sentiment and feelings and it seems like he believes the marriage could have worked had he been better in these areas. Whether you think that's true or not doesn't matter. These thngs are needed on both sides of a relationship, obviously, and they are not easy to maintain. This guy is just saying what is needed in a relationship... What he felt he didn't do correctly in his last. Some if it is a bit sexist but whatever, let that l…

I think it is stupid as well, in most cases, but that doesn't matter. there will be stupid products marketed to males and stupid products marketed to females. if the consumer is dumb enough to buy something based on how they perceive the product to be superior they will be happy with their purchase anyway. and if there are enough people that do that producers are gonna keep plugging away at it. This is a problem with the consumer, not with the producer, is what I am trying to say. When people se…

This is true, however, the argument here, I feel, is one that the women have shown that they want things made for them. This is not some abstract concept. A major company like bic would not make "women's pens" if they did not sell like crazy. Women are buying these "women only" products with wanton abandon. They then turn around blow up a shitstorm about how advertisers (aka patriarchy) are targeting them and trying to take their money. Well shit, maybe if I don't want something, I shouldn't buy…

id put them on the same plane myself, but the reason I think this is worse is that it is just an image and that it occupies the number one spot. A comment by a divorced guy talking about the evils of having a vagina isn't that big of a deal when it occupies the middle of a comment thread for a very MR-relevant article (the stupid ones don't typically take the front page). It is easy to dismiss those comments. It is hard for us to say "we stand for very important issues" when people see this on o…

You have a point abut the main thing it does is prevent ad hominem attacks. being able to say, "men support feminism" or "women support mens rights." you don't get any "just cause youre a man" comments. It forces people to be (at least a little) more critical in breaking down an argument. It holds no actually validity but it is effective in disarming (some) ad hominem attacks among some other minor things. bottom line, those people are more likely to be listened to. Edit: As for GWW I think her …

The only time I have ever been uncomfortable with my size is some occasions with girls. I have no shame in a locker room. Myth: Rape is only committed by strangers in dark alleys and parking lots. Fact: As many as 84 percent of women are raped by someone they know, such as friends, family or an >acquaintance. As many as 84 percent of women who are raped are raped by someone they know, such as friends, family or an acquaintance. Whether or not this statistic is true, do you think the leaving out of "who are raped" was intentional or accidental?

Yeah, well the problem is is there statistics are severely misleading in regards to what I am looking for. wow, I think that robin hood analogy could really take off. You could mold it really well to argue that a lot of feminists fight to make themselves still be perceived as weak. You could also continue the analogy to how many of the poor folk started buying things with the money they got from robin hood, only to hide it from him and still pretend to be poor. IDK, just kinda running with it. Great analogy though.

I think equality is just fine. Discrimination is too tough of a thing to combat. That is, in my opinion what happened with feminism. It went from "equality" to "end all discrimination." Any woman/girl can cry discrimination or cry patriarchy. I really don't like, even in the MRM seeing people complain. Sure, sometimes it can be discrimination, but just fight for yourself; learn to swim, so to speak. The feminist movement seemed to have birthed women who can't take criticism or hardship. When the…

Not worldwide... Definitely not. It is incredibly relevant worldwide. In the US, UK and other similar areas, it is not. Worldwide, Feminism is still in the 1st wave, which I defined (more or less) above. I do think it is important. I do think a camaraderie of sorts is necessary as well. Our (American) Feminists aren't contributing to this in a lot of ways, in my opinion. They seem to be focusing too much on what is happening stateside... We live in a society that women are sexual objects and that men are pedophiles. That black people are thieves and white people don't have to work to be well-off. Poor people are lazy and rich people are greedy. Everyone gets treated like shit. It's not just men. This is a good point. A lot of what MR's have trouble with is that the men's movement gets no recognition while the feminist movement has people pandering to every whim. My biggest thing is that everyone has obstacles. I feel like his quote might mean that that style is getting old. Most girls are used to that sort of thing; it has become stale. The park is something refreshing and something new, unlike a drink and a walk. If someone can control information, they can control a lot. The source of pride, I think doesn't come from bullying. From my perspective, these people want influence. They want to effect how people view things, inflict their bias, and have people more aligned to "the correct" way of thinking.

I appreciate the survery, but you are correct, though I do not believe you worded yourself correctly. The answer choices are very biased. I agree with you for the most part. I do think there are times when the case of an outlier should be called into attention; where the law shows bias. I think this is what most people intend to do. They are not always trying to say "look women can be shitty, too." Everyone can be shitty... we know this. Very true. The part about this that bugs me the most is when people talk about women not coming forward after having been raped. Yeah, I agree. It was just a thought really. I think that this is definitely a factor though. Certainly not the sole cause, but I think it is at play. I do think media plays a big role, bigger than this one, but I do think this is a factor that should also be acknowledged or tested.

No. This is like saying racial discrimination is caused by telling those who are not white that they are going to have a tougher time, that life is going to be harder for them. It is like putting a child 10 meters back from the starting block for a 50m sprint. When one starts that far back, one asks "is it even worth trying? there is no way I will win." I think it is a factor, not the sole cause, but definitely a factor that should not go ignored.

I think it is good to know how one works in any facet but beyond that I think it can be silly. Back when I was a teenager I was very obsessed with the Meyers-Briggs test. I agree with this. But one of the biggest problems I always have is explaining that each group has advantages and disadvantages. This guy has got his head up is ass, I realized. He asks for feedback in his original post. I give some feedback and tell him what I have found to work, in ways that are similar to yours. He downvotes and then leaves a single sentence of bullshit. I could care less if he disagrees but what he is doing in poor taste and he is acting like an ass.

I recognize your point, but you aren't going anywhere with it, in regards to this conversation (if it can be called such). It is not being introverted like you say. I imply that it is being enigmatic. there is a complete difference between the two. And any girl with an IQ over average will find it enticing to try to figure you out and find that very fun. And I can make it fun by letting her try, occasionally "slipping up." Introverted in the sense of AA is boring, I will agree with you there. En…

Well, as we all know there isn't a single sure-fire way. It may be wrong for you but I know a number of people, myself included, for whom this method works. Watch some Cary Grant or old James Bond films. Yes I am completely serious. It does work. Overdress for everything. Don't try so hard. and when you do try, make it seem like pushing out a modicum of conversation isn't really worth your time. But don't make that conversation air. Every word should count. By saying less, yet important things, …

A couple of disagreements. 1) Coolness. I will say that my coolness comes from my lack of extroversion; being aloof can be sexy. It can also give off that not giving a fuck, and that sexy cockiness of "nah, I'm not gonna approach anyone in this place." It is a great play if you eye a girl and really really want her, but you don't want to seem desperate. Look at her a few times throughout an hour. Turn down advances to talk from other women (unless they are sexier obviously). The girl you want wo…

came here to say this. and along the lines that men who want to have a good career and support their family financially also have to make sacrifices. It is the same trade off. My dad wasn't around much when I was a kid. Why? He was keeping food on the table. If my mom were doing the same would I fault her? no. would i praise her? The same way I do my father. The difference is, is that feminist groups jump on the latter saying that women have to choose between family and career. Men do to. It is …

In regards to Zambardo, I will slightly disagree. I really enjoyed his book and thought it brought up some very valid points. Due to attention and people wanting to find another problem with men (so to speak) people started applying this to all men. I feel like this book is going to have some unintended consequences. "You just can't get laid" will turn into "you just look at porn and play videogames; we need to help you" (said in the most condescending way). While I think both are obnoxious, I w…

the portfolios, education, and life expectancy pissed me off the most. If they knew anything, these can be easily put down. The portfolio, one I laughed the most at. "We are better at investing" ... well... if that were a fact, than you would know how easy it is to lie with statistics... I mean, shit, of all the chosen investment portfolios, it was never stated that they were randomly chosen... It is safe to assume that if they left it out, then it was intentional.

From what I understand and have observed about myself before I stopped was a decreased sensitivity and having a more difficult time maintaining an erection. ED more or less. Now, this is over a longer period of time. But if you think of teenagers now, who are raised (so to speak) on internet pornography, these problems can arise. Now, people may think something like, "Decreased sensitivity? Sweet! Now I can last longer!" Sex for over an hour is not fun, it is an ordeal for everyone... Especially…

as long as we are complacent with it it will be a victory. We should not retaliate with MR stats. it would be a waste. Why they are doing this, I don't know. It is silly. They can do it and they will have gained nothing. I don't think we even need to delete it. That changes things a bit. Before you take the case anywhere, however, bring up the issue to the school administration and see how they react. if they approve it then it is not discrimination; probably just wasn't brought to their attention before. Document the incident as best you can. If you are in a one party state you can record the conversation with the administration and if it goes poorly take it to a lawyer and see if there is anything you can do. People are focusing too much on what you say and how you say it. Dont get me wrong, these are very relevant. But, more importantly, I think, is how you introduce it... I always bring it up through talking about rights for another group, women's rights, lgbt rights, minorities rights, etc. It is important to know relevant information for all of these as the egalitarians we like to be. I agree, it has a first glimpse of MGTOW, however, the dark, comedic twist is that it just creates a whole new system rather than the independent MGTOW that it initially implied with the branching away from societal stigmas. It was like a "fuck society and how they perceive us as all the same and we can't do anything... let's create a group where we are all the same!" That's what makes it a dark comedy. The reason I love the movie (and why others do) is that it gives a glimpse of individuality. …

Laws are put in place that discriminate against races implicitly. In most states a gram of cocaine will earn a person a few months. A gram of crack will get you 5+ years. Not explicitly putting minorities behind bars but it might as well be. If you look at the wording of a lot of laws they are implicitly racist. Doesn't mean anything though

That is an exaggeration, however, it is not that far off. It doesn't mean that whenever someone sees man one thinks this, but rather, due to media and some feminist slant the subconscious thought is there; one could be bias against men without even realizing it at this point and just think that is how the world works... exactly. I wouldn't date that kind, personally. I find a way to bring up certain philosophical ideals in the conversation on the first date. Upon exchanging different thoughts and ideas, and gauging what her philosophies are (based on aforementioned philosphies) I bring up certain things that I find ridiculous such as the man paying all the time. On the first few dates I like to make it clear that we are going to pay for our own respective dishes, tickets, etc. Why? Because both parties have an equal amount invest in the date so why shouldn't we stick to that. As a relationship progresses I have no problem paying for certain things and neither should she; trust and comfort should come out of it. I am not going to go cutting hairs, saying "I paid last, now it's your turn" but I do expect it to be a fairly equal division of cost.
