You're a man getting divorced. Yeah, you're screwed.

That's what's so funny. Mine called me crying when she wrecked my car right after leaving. Her AP was even in the car. She got furious with me for laughing. Bitch I'm not your bank anymore. I don't give a shit what happens to you.

As men, we don't get to strive for happiness. We learn to be happy when we're not being attacked. Content is all we want anymore.

My ex's AP's ex knew and didn't tell me. She said she didn't want to get involved. How fucked is that? Women are fucking awful.

Women are all the same. They know they can use victimhood to their advantage so they milk the shit out of it. Mine used to hit me. But yeah of course she says I was the violent one.

If mine is more than 15 minutes late, I keep them that long next week. And I don't tell her. She doesn't get to use that time since I didn't get to. She can sit in the parking lot and wait like I did.

I dream about mine every night. I dream of court. Of her coming back to me. Of her killing me. Of her sending her AP to kill me (Honestly wish she would. Dude is a twig and would not fare well.) I'm hoping it goes away eventually.

The kids will be fine. I already anticipate my daughter blaming me when she gets older for how fake she is being between houses. She tell her mom she wants to live with her then comes home and tells me she hates mommy. I predict her telling me how hard it was for her to have to pretend on both sides. I'm gonna ask her who told her she had to do that. Same thing I did. I blamed my parents for my personality disorders. Yeah, they didn't create a solid foundation for me to grow upon, but they did t…

When my wife left she took our dog with her. I never saw her again. I missed her so much. I was praying about it and telling God how lonely I was and that I missed my dog and the very next day someone posted a stray on my community facebook page. I took one look at him and just knew it in my spirit that he was my dog. I took him in with the intent of finding him a new home. I didn't realize I already had. I am diagnosed with severe PTSD from my time in the military. I have nightmares and can't s…

My ex has told so many lies that she now believes them. She tried telling me that we used to fight so much and that I was abusive. Like, bitch, I was there. You can't lie to the only other person there.

Forcing your kids to get an experimental vaccine that has caused child heart attacks all around the world is asinine to me. Good on your ex.

Women always find a way to blame you. Don't listen to her. Marriage is a two way street. Mine was like that too, though. I have PTSD from my time in the military and I didn't realize that I was coping with stressors by focusing on my family. When my family was suddenly gone, it broke me open. I suddenly had severe symptoms and needed a lot of help.

It's hard. Probably the hardest part of all of this. What helped me was realizing that I wasn't her first choice. Can you live with someone knowing you aren't their first choice? It also helped when I realized that I didn't miss her, I was just really codependent. I missed someone. Loneliness feels the exact same as missing a particular person, and it takes a while to realize it.

I was given two weeks to move out of the marital home that was purchased with my VA loan. I was only given every other weekend visitation and every other Wednesday dinners with my kids. My wife makes 3x more than I do and I was ordered to pay child support. I was denied an advance from assets to move out. I also requested to stay in the basement and that was rejected as well. Fuck. This. Judge.

Haha no it isn't Florida. It's another state that the left thinks is a shit hole for having conservative values.
/r/Divorce_Men09/11/23 05:03 PM

Why are you homeless? You don't have to move out of your home unless the court orders it. With the CPOs, maybe they have, but unless you are told explicitly by a judge that you are restrained from living there, go live there. As for how you communicate effectively with a woman, if you figure that out, write a book and sell it. You'd probably win a nobel prize.
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/23 06:33 PM
1

With a lawyer. It should be pretty straight forward and could be done cheaply with a mediator, but it doesn't sound like your ex is a reasonable woman (is that an oxymoron?) so you may need to fight it in trial to get your half.
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/23 06:16 PM

"Her possessions" are probably marital assets, so yes you can do that. Just be careful locking her out of the marital home. Without a court Order of Protection, she likely still has every right to be in the home. I, too, found out about my wife's affair while she was on vacation with him. Cheaters are a vile species.
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/23 05:37 PM

I'm so lucky that my wife was too scared to file false abuse charges. She chickened out of them before pulling the trigger, and the judge saw through it. She specifically said in our first hearing that she (the judge) saw no evidence of abuse or neglect and will not entertain future claims.
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/23 05:36 PM

Let me guess, you're around the 7-year mark of your marriage. "but I feel great emotional pain when I see her as I still love her dearly. I can't stay in limbo" gee, where have I heard this before? Oh yeah, I and every other man here has said it. Trust us, the love fades and the truth comes out. She is now your enemy 100%. Defend the kids at any cost, but do not play nice with her out of love. She will destroy you and laugh the whole way.
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/23 05:34 PM
5

Well, the CPOs are definitely a problem, and not one you can really fight at this point since you never fought them before. You've let her establish a precedent where you're a violent and dangerous man. Are there any kids between the two of you? If not, you actually might be in good shape. Too few years married for alimony, no child support or custody, and it sounds like you have more debt and she has more income. Based on that alone I don't think you're in a bad place. Poor people divide debts …

Gotcha. I don't understand how judges can do this to people. I'm so glad I live where I live. My governor just mandated courts to give 50/50 custody unless they can prove it is not in the best interest of the child, and they mandatorily have to explain their reasoning. Feels like something that should have happened long ago. I wish I knew how better to help you.

My ex was one. She cheated, got caught, and moved 180 miles away. She doesn't want the house and never paid anything for it. The loan is only in my name (with my 2.6% rate omg thank the Lord.) I'm 90% confident I'm not going to have to split equity. She only lived her for 10 months and has not been back since. I paid for it entirely with VA disability checks that she is not entitled to. Plus, since I'll be primary for the kids, the judge will see that I need funds, so I'm pretty safe I think.
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/23 04:56 PM

What are you appealing? The judge's ruling? Was it based on accurate information? Can you prove bias? I did not see your first post, but if you're simply appealing a shitty decision with no basis for why it's unjust, you might not get very far.

I always wanted to be a "harder" man. I have always been too passive, too much of a push over. This has cured me of that. Sure, my heart has hardened a bit more, but it's protected more too.

If my wife can have sex with other men before we're separated, I can have sex with other women after she's gone. Marriage is a holy union. The government can appropriate the name all they want, but that changes nothing. Violating your vows makes you divorced.
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/23 04:15 PM

We are tricked by society into thinking marriage is this beautiful and glorious accolade to strive for. It convinces us we're mature and worthy. It's a fucking lie.

Righteous anger is a tool if you can tame it. It demands change and stops you letting yourself get hurt again. Don't let it go, master it. You are entitled to feel anger for wrongdoings.

My wife lied about the affair when I questioned her, shrugged when I showed her proof, admitted to it on the stand, moved 200 miles to live with him, and is still with him. Her mother actually set them up and started the affair. Women are fucking vile creatures.

Especially if he maintained the home and made payments while one of them wasn't living there. My lawyer says I will get a credit for the months of payments I've made on the house since she left. She isn't entitled to that. Sadly, she is entitled to part of the equity that the house gained since then.

My STBXW and I broke up years ago before marrying. She immediately moved in a new guy from Tinder and convinced him I was so violent that he forced her to file a police report. She of course did, because the alternative would be to admit the lie. Then, my stupid, codependent ass took her back and married her. Now she's doing it again with AP.

For number 9, my lawyer objected to hearsay about what a child may or may not have said, and the judge sustained it. YMMV.

It was the "normal" thing to do. I was young and wanted to be seen as an adult. She would have left me if I didn't give her a ring so I did. I was the exception. I knew I'd never want a divorce, and she told me she wouldn't either. My folly was believing a woman could ever know what she'd want.
/r/Divorce_Men27/10/23 08:51 PM

Sympathy for an AP? No. They always know she's married. They don't care that they destroyed a family. They get what we decide to give them in the moment.
/r/Divorce_Men26/10/23 05:08 PM

And she will cheat on him too. Cheaters aren't looking for better, they are looking for new. They don't know how to find happiness in life, so they expect others to give it to them. But it's like a drug. You get numb to the affects and need more and more. Soon, no one is good enough and you're never happy. "Where have all the good men gone?!" means "Why don't I get a high out of relationships anymore?"

People in this thread are acting like their experience will be just like yours. My lawyer knows my judge really well. She knows that the judge does not take kindly to adulterers. Despite being in a no-fault state, my lawyer made it highly evident that my wife cheated, and used the affair to prove why my wife moved 180 miles away, despite her claiming she needed to be away from me to be safe. She lost that battle hard. temp 50/50, no support, I'm gonna get primary.

That's fair. Women are completely fucking crazy. It's easy to find out that stuff, though. My address, place of employment, etc, will all link to my real name, and then they can search case net for my divorce and get my ex's name and address. A scorned ex girlfriend will absolutely do that shit, too. Contact your ex wife and try to hurt you. Women are all shit.

It was the hardest thing I ever did, getting over her. But I eventually learned that it wasn't her I missed, it was my family, the sense of security and innocence, etc. She was a symbol that represented a chapter in my life. She was not the chapter, though. Believe the millions of us who go through this every year: you will feel better. Shit, I am a veteran with PTSD (which causes my stress to skyrocket out of control), and when my wife left it nearly (literally) killed me. But I survived, and I…

Time. I'm 15 months past D-Day. I spent the first year begging and pleading for my family. I fought myself back and forth, getting mad at myself when I'd beg her then somehow justifying it again the next week. Now I don't beg anymore. I just want her gone.

Yeah I get the first idea. Child support is basically just her covering her half of the cost of what the kids need since she isn't around anymore. She ought to be paying for their daycare in total since she was a SAHM.

I'm going to get primary custody, so she'll be paying CS anyway. Gonna be hilarious when I make her give me more for stuff.

I'm on a path to getting primary (70/30.) My ex lined up the circumstances perfectly for me: Cheat, get caught faking DV and threaten to harm the children in front of the cops, call mom, have her threaten my murder in front of the cops. Move 200 miles away from the marital home to live with felon AP. File for divorce less than a week after running away. File in my ultra-conservative town. Get ultra-conservative judge. Hire fresh-out-of-school lawyer who has never won a case. Tell that judge she …

I'm not officially divorced yet, but I've been looking since about a month after my wife left. I've been on one or two dates, but there is just absolutely no one viable. Not in my area, at least.

I was constantly accused of cheating although I never did. So I had an affair. Not the flex you think it is.

My wife moved 180 miles to be with her affair partner and she never looked back. I did beg her to come home and told her I loved her. When she told me she only wanted 50/50 custody, I told her that can't happen because I'm not selling my house and moving. She started screaming and crying and saying that I don't love her. She was genuinely of the mindset that I still had to give her what she wanted, but that I should not expect her to give me what I want. Truly a monster.

I drool at the thought of this happening to my ex. And it will when the judge orders her to pay me $600/month in child support!
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/23 10:10 PM

I think it has its place in society. I would hate to pay it myself, and especially if I knew she was using it as her income and not for the kids, but I came from a single mother home where my dad abandoned us. He also stopped paying child support because he was a shit head. He cheated and married his AP, and sued my mom into oblivion. I personally hate nearly all women because of the epiphanies I've had during my divorce so far, but I don't like the idea of children growing up in poverty all the…
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 04:32 PM

Not sure yet. She actually didn't work at all during the marriage, but child support is based on custody, and she made it impossible for her to get primary. Nothing to do with income in this case.
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 03:54 PM

I never made my ex happy but now I realize it wasn't my job; it was hers. Absolutely. Happiness and peace come form within. Unfortunately, we live in a world where women have been taught otherwise.
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 03:52 PM

I disagree. My wife is going to have to pay me child support and for good reason. If she were able to disappear and leave us without aid, she would.

And shitty parents who refuse to help raise their children can leave the other parent high and dry. Look guys, I hate women too, but this is absurd.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 09:41 PM
-5

That is vile, but it doesn't mean I'm wrong. Child support might be shitty for a lot of guys, but the children shouldn't be abandoned and left for dead with the other parent over money. How shitty.

I intentionally did not gender my post.

Mine did. I had a spreadsheet tracking our daily expenditures compared to my income. We were spending $50 more on average per day than I was making. Her solution? I should get a second job.

Then you are ready for your next dose of reality.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 09:01 PM

Yes a thousand times. My ex keeps saying she left because I didn't "make her happy." She was only ever happy when she was buying things. I'd even tell her during cute family moments or just eating dinner together or reading the kids a bedtime story that these were the best moments of my life. She didn't care at all. It was always about the next dopamine hit for her.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 09:00 PM
6

Yeah I've noticed this too. I love my kids more than life itself, but that empty house, while sometimes empty, is peaceful. I like being able to go to my kitchen stark nude and not care because no one will see me. Privacy is more important than I knew.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 08:58 PM

She would get to veto every decision you make.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 08:53 PM

If women would just be less shitty in divorce, we could all agree amicably and do what is sensible without needing lawyers. Instead, they scream and cry and accuse because they know the system will give them money.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 08:52 PM

Well that's disgusting. Child support still makes sense in a lot of cases. So now shitty people can just leave a child behind like they never existed? This world is vile.

My brothers all get on to me for not being over it by now. They think that, just because they are over it, so should I be. They seem to forget that the relationship between them and my wife was not the same as between me and her. Divorce is one of those things that requires you to experience it to have any valuable perspective on it.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 08:49 PM

I hope to. I'm worried that there is something going on and they won't find it. I will never be at peace about this. Either they find it and I'm mad, or they don't and I'm always suspicious.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 08:37 PM

We have temporary 50/50 while waiting for our final hearing. I am already probably getting primary custody, as mom moved 180 miles away. I did not suspect anything too nefarious before today. I knew mom wasn't keeping as close an eye on them as I do, but I didn't suspect it was criminal.
