More you say? I actually threw up there from drinking too much... If anything, I'd tone it down.

Start going to places and be passive was/is a babystep for me. Being active on top of that would be great, but I got to work my way up there. I started so low.

This is all one girl. We initially met through university and the report is from a party we both were in.

I knew what I should've said if I wanted to seduce her. But I was honestly so scared that I genuinely tried to protect myself by making her not want me, even though I found her attractive. Yeah, shit is fucked up. It's been for long... But thanks!

While my seductive ability definitely hasn't yet peaked, I've improved on many other areas with the help of these studies. And I actually started going out while studying. But I only applied two rules, 1. Go out and 2. Have fun :).

Yeah, I probably need to give all this more time... I know I'm not going back to the MMO depression foreveralone mode by choice. It might happen, but I know its not an option 'cause I've been there, and my state back then wasn't anything near healthy. Maybe I just have to balance the home time and socializing time for now and not go all out on it and burn myself out. But gradually expose myself to more and more... And maybe like you, I can learn to enjoy myself more!

How long did it take for you to start enjoying socializing after you made the decision to become more extrovert? I also made this same decision when I started uni this fall, but I feel like I'm starting to hit a wall here. It seems that I am unable to relax and enjoy the company of others. I've been told I look tense and look like I'm not having good time and honestly I know it is like that. But still I consider myself succeeding because my only goal at the moment is participate, no matter how b…

If you manage to get over this, let me know how. I don't even know what the fuck am I doing it seddit and reading into all this stuff, because I know my non-existent sex life has nothing to do with my seduction skills and everything to do with overcoming this extreme anxiety of intimacy. Yeah, well now I remember why I am here in seddit, it has helped me greatly with general socializing and all that shit. But the idea of succeeding in seducing a girl still fucking terrifies me to the point that …

I'd advice you to stop playing videogames and mindless internet surfing for a period of time. I've tried it. Played nothing, no reddit or any sites for a month. Of course you can check email and take care of important things... You'll get so bored that you will almost automatically start to do things like socializing and starting new hobbies. First days are hard but I promise it is worth it if you want change!

But in your definition lies a problem. Everybody has their own standards for awesome actions. Like if I said I'm awesome because I collect stamps would I be awesome in your eyes? And I honestly believe I am awesome for having a great stamp collection. Many would probably not appreciate it. Awesome or not?

Three weeks in in a new town and uni. Been the best weeks in years. And there's one thing that made the difference. Which is... I just started talking to people from the first moment. Nobody knew I was supposed to be the silent guy. It felt hard and was a little draining but I pulled it off with determination. I fucking ditched all the thoughts like "I don't have to do small talk because I don't like it" and "People suck, I don't need friends" and "I'm somehow different from the rest so I belong…

Them games... Fucked me up so badly. Got my first gameboy when I was two years old. Video games were my thing for the next 20 years or so. Shit was bad. It was hard to hang out with people, it felt like wasted time. I could be playing. I think it was addiction. Video games on my part are fucking done now. I avoid MMORPGS and any online competitive games like plague. I know they WILL fuck me up. Any good game will actually destroy me. I handn't played anything in like a month. Last friday evening…

Can't give you any advice since you're obviously way ahead of me. Thanks for the inspiration though! Starting uni next week in a new city, I'll keep your success in mind.

Haha, you're asking the internet people do decide for you whether you should bang her or not? You know we can't do that.

If one interaction leaves someone creeped out, I don't think its anything to worry about. And did you discuss it further with your friend? Was he able to point out any specific things that made you appear creepy to her?

Just a thought: If two people are holding eye contact and neither of them breaks it, which one of them is creepy? But yeah, common sense is our friend.

Do you have any idea why you would act like that? If you're not shy or nervous in the slightest and found her attractive... wtf? I've experienced this too though, but I think I know my reasons for why it happened. I actually feel pretty fucked up as a person because of these encounters. I like playing these eye-games, but due to being a massive pussy, I always leave it there. Sometimes (very rare though) the girl decided to take action and that's when I freak out and act like I never even looked…

The only failure I can think of here is if you had given in to the excuses and stayed home. Just maybe the next time will be less awkward. If not, maybe the one after that. I'm also at the point where I'm forcing myself to go out. I don't feel "Yeah, party time, this is going to be fun", its more like "I know I will probably be nervous and feel awkward, but I accept it and go anyway". And in the end it is worth it, 'cause I have lived enough loner life to know it doesn't work for me.

So you were sober. Can you dance in front of a mirror by yourself without feeling embarrased/stupid? I used to have that problem, but I practised it and now in the dancefloor I feel really good about dancing. But like you, I'm still a little intimidated of actually initiating a dance with a girl. Its easy to escalate when the girl just comes over and starts rubbing herself to me, but my extreme fear of rejection holds me back from initiating for now. Always wanted to try going out sober/drink on…

Did you drink much? Haha, I can't really give you any good advice 'cause I consider it a victory if I can get myself go out, no matter what happens. Coming from the situation where I thought I could never go to a club, now at the point of going into a club, with actual friends, hitting the dancefloor and actually enjoying myself there. Yeah... life's good, it's all about baby steps...

I took citalopram for 1.5 years, withdrawal symptoms pretty non-existent when I quit. Just a little weird feeling for a couple of days. Honestly I can't say if it ever really helped me or not. Took Zoloft for a month, it seemed to mess up my stomach, quit without any withdrawals. Finally Effexor for three months... It didn't do anything... But the withdrawal symptoms were horrible, I threw up a couple of times and felt sicker than ever for two days. It was like bad hangover but worse.

Fuck it, I'm getting back to nofap. I already completed 90 days without fapping, but took a few looks at porn here and there. Managed to ditch porn after that and just fapped once a week for couple months. Fell back to porn after that... I just don't like how porn makes me quite content with not getting any intimacy in reality. But yeah, as missiongiraffe stated, try making some moves next time!

Dude! I don't want to label myself as anything negative, but the fact is that I'm still kissless virgin, and even before finding out seddit and all this self improvement jazz, I FUCKING CLEANED MY APARTMENT BEFORE GOING TO PARTY, just in case... To look at the bright side, at least I had the luxury of masturbating in a tidy place that night.

Yep, been there. Therapy helped me a lot. Or I'm not even sure if it was therapy. I went to talk to this counselor 2 times in a month for about half a year. First it was hard for me to open up even there, but eventually I was able to talk about some pretty deep things without too much discomfort. I always thought something is blocking me from opening up. I just felt so bad if I tried, I couldn't do it. But practising it in therapy makes it much easier to do now. And remember you are not your fee…

Thanks. I agree with all that you're saying. But there's a problem. If I follow my own pace and comfort, I'm probably never going to have sex. :) Pushing the edges of my comfort zone now though, things are getting alot better...

Care to share some more insight on this? Topics I'm interested in: -Why do you regret it? How does the fact that you lost your virginity to random drunk chick affect you now? -What do you think the conditions to lose virginity should have been for you? And how do you think your feelings would be different now, if you had lost your virginity under different conditions. -How old were you when you lost it? Just interested as a 22 year old virgin myself, who by the way suffers from the same problem …

You're depressed, right? Are you taking action to overcome it? Anyway, I'd recommend taking a look at David. D. Burns books "Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy" and "Intimate connections". Those books really helped me with negative self image and depression.

Good about the counselor. Now about me being broken socially. Yeah, I guess it was true afterall, but I also thought it could never be fixed. Now I'm on my way of fixing it and am already seeing a lot of progress. To be honest, I'm not even sure how much the medicine has to do in this, its more about fixing my negative thinking loops and attitudes. About the 2 approaches. First one: I was following my group of guys in a festival. Some of the group met some other guys who I didn't know, but in th…

I'm pretty much like you, just 2 years younger... I can tell you, it doesn't fucking help if girls approach you. It just doesn't change a fucking thing. You have to work through this issue in other ways, not learn any tricks, not learn how you can be sure and not learn how you can get girls approach you... Work through social awkwardness and depression. Go see a psychologist or a counselor or something. But they will pretty much tell you all the same things as we call "inner game" here and perha…

Thanks man! I will keep on pushing myself. Sometimes I think I'm just wrecking my nerves for nothing, but then I need to look at the facts... There used to be a time when grocery shopping was difficult and every phonecall would wreck my nerves for hours before. Finding seddit and inner game stuff really seems to have brought me up a little bit from the abyss.
