Unfortunately it seems to quite depend on the local culture (and also on the venue). In France or Sweden I would also get spontaneous eye contact and do some warm approach to dance (or even was directly approached quite often in Sweden) but here in Poland it feels like girls don't have the same culture of dancing with random people (while guys on the other hand do) and will only respond to direct approaches. Once I'm dancing I can use it as a way to play, great tension and escalate as you say, b…

I see, do you approach them straight away or dance around for a bit ? Most of the time I try to let them notice my presence first to not be a stranger but I'm not sure if It's the best way to do. Also women in this country seem to be way more closed than in others I've been to (and also get approached more often) so they seem to not accept approaches as often as you say (even in general with other men). I'm looking for a way to make my approaches more interesting not trigger their auto "not inte…

Yes it's also more or less my way to operate, but I'm interested if you have comments or advice more specifically on how to open on step 4 to avoid her defaulting to auto rejection

> You can go to Warsaw for example. Would it really be of interest for me to do that ? I'm probably not willing to give so much energy just to try another city as I have stuff to do in the weekend. > If you're just approaching without seeing any interest before it's going to be way harder Unfortunately this is the case I'm in, which indeed is complicated as I'm not experienced of approaching without getting at least an eye contact first. I sometimes drink alcohol, though not always. Maybe it mak…

Oh nice, thanks for the more specific advice then. I live in Kraków but it would be complicated for me to move to another city just for a club night out of holidays, and I'm hesitant to try some places because of the reputation of some security teams of acting like burglars with the clients. However that club I currently go to doesn't seem bad, there are enough pretty girls and as I say other guys manage to get their attention at least for a short while. > The direct approach works better than h…

I'm in Poland since a few months. I come from France but spent some time in Sweden (where I got approached significantly more). > Yeah, you should just have a good time on the dance floor, make the eye contact happen, if it happens a few times, go in and be subtle about it. That's typically my default way to do, but here specifically it simply does not happen, never, under no circumstances girls here seem to realise that I exist, while it was not a problem before. It is specifically the reason w…

When I say I'm attractive it is based on many returns by people around me or girls I meet. I do get approach and get eye contact, just not at the new place I'm now living at. Depending on the country and context (house party vs student club vs public club) how open girls are changes a lot, there are some places where I was typically approached one to multiple times a night. Here even the girl friends of guys I talk with do not interact. It is however true that I give a very closed vibe myself, b…

I have no problem talking to a man or woman on the street if I have a "legitimate reason" like that. I guess part of the problem is me thinking it's an intrusion to approach these girls. Again the men in this club however are the friendliest I've ever met (typically befriending them just by simple eye contact and moving my arm to the music), maybe you're right on approaching more men will make me more comfortable with the act in itself regardless of the intention. But again the behavior of men a…

Agree, well it's kinda what I'm doing the question is what I'm doing *when* I'm actually talking to women

I suppose I should choose depending on the dancefloor, no point rushing girls on a small and friendly dancefloors because I risk to turn down the little there are and run out of girls quickly, while bigger dance floors are more appropriate for that ? I suppose I still have to show clear nonverbal intent that I want to dance with them when I'm near

I see thanks, I'll think about it

After thinking about it, I realise what I'm afraid of is being honest with my non verbal attitude. Like I dance near girls but lowkey keep plausible deniability about approaching if they don't like it, which I suppose does not show confidence. Given what other people have told me, I think I will try to approach with the intention of approaching, and poke her shoulder to ask for a dance if she doesn't seem to see me, it will avoid the fear of not getting a reaction even though I exposed myself. I…

Thanks, good to have your side of it. I tend to overthink and expect more social distance from people that they actually do

Thank you, I didn't think about putting myself in a position she can see me before approaching, I suppose if I can't get her to notice me before approaching it's better if I'm sure she has seen me before. Obviously I don't intend to disrespect her boundaries, but before making contact I can't know for sure what her boundaries are and if she's ok with being approached in this way.

Thanks, so I just walk up to them to dance at appropriate dance distance, wait for a reaction and leave if they don't show interest ?

Same kind of problem here, gonna make a more detailed post about it. I want to talk to girls on the dance floor, but unless they notice me and establish eye contact I don't know how to introduce myself, I especially feel like I was judged on empty dance floors

Thank you, by "mostly fairly liberal" would you say the number of club women who would be open to a hookup, or women in general open to casual sex, is not particularly low ?

Exactly, it's not worth letting her frame the interaction with such nonsense, if you're a man who wants sex be confident in it or it will either lead to nothing or she will not give in, whatever excuses she gives. Do not pretend to be coming in another frame just for her or she will sense that as needy edit: even if it is obvious that it should always come with respect of her boundaries, but her boundaries are for what you do not for who you are

That's interesting, did you ever do that ? Wouldn't they lay assumptions on you or be turned off for the same reasons it doesn't work in the gym though ?

It seems hard to understand at first for us guys who approach girls often for looks, but what makes a girl spend a good time with you is mainly not looks but how she feels with you. I guess it is the reason why we are the ones approaching them. If people particularly don't like your appearance maybe you could go see a professional to perfect it with haircut and appropriate clothes choices, but as soon as it looks ok I think it's not the main focus. Also depending on the place height culture can …

Yes it feels needy if you text her 10 minutes after, but no need to loose time I feel like it's appropriate to do it "when you get a calm moment" like the next day.

I think it's usually said that women are more attracted by upper body muscles, but honestly for men appearance is not what makes you stand out to women, it's the emotions you make them feel

Exactly, it's incredible people don't see the nuance. but then again most guys are often either nice guys or assholes to them, and only one type is confident

I think maybe they also were not satisfied finding the chemistry in their former relationships so they resigned themselves to just find a life partner, and choosing them like a roommate

Might depend on the situation but if you already made out the attraction is beyond clear and you can just ask her if she's available to see you without playing games

Oh it's a book specialised on hookup ? I should look into that, most of the stuff I find is usually focused on relationships, even if they might be short term

I think you have to dose it. Keep the calm energy inside you and give away a few playful sparks once in a while, that's the way to keep being interesting without getting repetitive and boring

We all have one or multiple stories like that. Just limit contact as much as you can and focus your attention on something else

Best thing is to be honest about it. There is no shame in it, so be confident in answering. I myself often tell people I meet that I go alone in clubs because it's hard to find people who party as much as me outside, while these people are already there in the club to meet.
