How can I be most effective in the gym starting from nothing?Drop the fucking machines and focus on the barbell. Stringlifts5x5 for 6 months or until you plateau. From there move onto Wendler 5/3/1 FSL w/ dumbbell accessory. Both those can be done with only 3 days a week and shouldn't take more then 60-90 minutes max. Remember, since your a newb on lifting, form is more important then weight. | /r/askMRP | 07/04/18 05:01 AM
Squat More to Increase Strength, Hypertrophy, and Mental ResilienceI think my form is better this time but can use a check. Suggestions on where to get a form check? The trainers at my gym wouldn't know (gym has a number of power racks but the trainers are the full body type) and I'm weary of the fitness subs. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 22/03/18 07:05 PM
Squat More to Increase Strength, Hypertrophy, and Mental ResilienceThanks for the comments. When I first started lifting and doing squats, both my knees got bad. I stopped doing them for 8+months before restarting with very light (95lb) while doing 531. Stance wise, I am going deeper and using a wider stance then before. Another thing is my toe orientation is now in the 80-90degree range rather then closer to parallel. This has seemed to help. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 22/03/18 07:03 PM
Squat More to Increase Strength, Hypertrophy, and Mental ResilienceOne thing I had a issue with is my knees. If I do squats more then once a week, it seems my knees start to flare up. Suggestions? | /r/MarriedRedPill | 22/03/18 04:31 AM

Help With Nutrition Regarding Body Fat and LiftingObviously reading comprehension eludes you. Now i'm on a low carb high protein/fat diet (not strict keto). Can I do this for life? Sure. It just means eating more bacon, cheese, and rib-eyes while giving up bread (made me bloated), rice (never did eat much), pasta (gave me carb crashes), and potatoes (I'll miss tarter tots). When I got my blood tested last year, my HDL was up, LDL was down, and triglycerides were minimal. So yea....I could do this diet for the rest of my life. | /r/askMRP | 14/03/18 05:07 AM
Help With Nutrition Regarding Body Fat and LiftingKeto is not a life hack. Thanks to doing keto/if, I went from 300lbs to 190. Staying on a low carb/high fat diet (not strick keto) has allowed me to keep it off for a year. I was always fat, but I'm aure as not now. | /r/askMRP | 13/03/18 03:14 PM
When you want your wife to get in shape...?One issue bmi calcs is what about leftover skin? I'm 6'3 195lbs but used to be 300lbs. I carried that weight well (most people figured I was 240) and it was all in my mid section/gut. Now that I lost that weight, I have a lot of leftover skin. | /r/askMRP | 02/03/18 06:26 AM
Marriage Therapy today is like 17th century medicineWhen I started having anxiety issues I "shared" it with the wife. Looking back now, this when sex went from starfish to full db. I have a buddy who talk with if I have a problem now. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 26/02/18 04:02 PM
Why don't we see amoral talk on RPW?You need to understand that many men who end up at MRP get there via deadbedrooms. These men are in marriages that for one reason or another (usually because of kids), they cannot leave. Additionally, because they were the "drunk captain" for so long, even if they fix themselves there relationship qith there wife is too far gone. If they can't leave and they get no intimacy at home, then cheating becomes the only option. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/18 03:28 AM

Ketosis, The Ultimate Test of Willpower. To the point...Thanks to keto, I stopped living life on hard mode. I went from 300lbs to 190lbs in a year and for the first time in my life, I'm not overweight/obese. I've kept the weight of for 6 months now so it's not a temp change. | /r/TheRedPill | 11/12/17 08:20 AM

For Over 40: Is your % of success increased or decreased ?The weight factor alone. I'm in my late 40's and ever since I dropped 100lbs the IOI I get from the 18-25 range is noticeable where as before I lost the weight it was non-existant. | /r/seduction | 30/09/17 12:03 AM

The Ketogenic Diet Made Me A Happier PersonLate to this thread... I did keto for a year. Went from 300lbs to 190 and while I won't say it was easy, it wasn't hard. I also did intermittent daily fasting (2 - 8pm window) which assisted in the weight loss. Now that I hit a floor on weight, I've moved over to a simple low carb diet (sub 60net per day) and have had zero maintenance issues. Going from obese to normal size is going from living life on hard mode to normal mode. | /r/TheRedPill | 14/08/17 08:48 PM

Trading downSecond on the keto/IF. I dropped 100lbs over a year on it. When your fat and have always been fat, life is on hard mode and you don't even know it. Now that I look fit, how people perceive me had changed and I never realized that this is how life should be until now. In my case, I have the leftover skin in my gut. The ponch of skin is my penance for being obese way to long. It'll disappear but it will take a while. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 07/07/17 04:12 PM

i have seen the red pill light and would like to lsoe weight and have a purpose in life besides playing video games all day long. what is the most important first step for me?@300lbs it will be more then just lifting. I was 300lbs and lost 100 of it. For me, I did lazy keto + IF. Basically, stop eating all bread, rice, pasta, potatoes along w/ giving up beer and wine. I started eating a lot more eggs, bacon, cheese and for snacking, peppered beef jerky. Second on the confidence boost. Once you lose weight, you are no longer playing on hard mode. | /r/askTRP | 10/06/17 12:16 AM

Watched a former coworker get tied down to an early wall hitter.I can answer this. I'm 6'3 and was 300lbs. I was always heavy...even when I was young. This meant my proportions were always the same. Additionally, I carried it well...most people thought I was 240. When you were always fat, it was normal. Oh...I'm now 195 thanks to lifting and keto. | /r/TheRedPill | 01/06/17 07:34 AM

Have any of you lost a substantial amount of weight or known someone who has (obese to normal/fit)? Am I delusional to think everything will get better after I lose the weight?I'm 6'3 and went from 300 to 195 over the course of a year and people will look at you differently. It's like changing from Hard to Normal mode (Easy mode being jacked/ripped). And Keto4Life. | /r/askTRP | 26/05/17 05:17 AM
Sex is not the goal.. Just a nice side effect. For some of us, we were bad leaders and to much of a bp for so long that the sex just never came back. Rollo had a post on women retiring from sex a few months back; that applies to us. | 1 | Wife read my secret diary and shut down. Am I handling this correctly?Agree with Evernote. Started using it several years ago pre-rp. Doing it helped me understand that she was part of the problem; it wasn't just me. I would say that journaling is one of those things that lead me here. | /r/askMRP | 21/04/17 03:25 AM
Her ConfusionMy wife still thinks I'm angry when I show stfu/dgaf/oic. For the longest time, prior to mrp, I would be angry and be passive/aggressive about it. By being a bad captain for so long, she has come to expect certain reactions. Remember, for every year on your relationship, as one month to the time it takes to see changes from her. | /r/askMRP | 06/04/17 04:38 PM

Own Your Shit Weekly - April 04, 2017Lifting: gains are slow, but happening again. Added a legs as 5th day a week after taking 3+ months off due to knee tendinitis. Still sore two days later, but good type of soreness. Have figured out a gym schedule that works best. Thanks to Men of March, I can now do 30pushups in a set, something I have never been able to do. Health/weight: down 10lbs this month and now 8lbs shy of final goal weight (started at 300, current is 202, goal is 195) although it's plateaued for past week although this… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 04/04/17 08:13 PM
60 DoD 2017 Week1: LiftingStart doing leg days again. I stopped all leg work about 4 months ago due to knee issues and switched from sl5x5 to a push/pull 4day routine. Did legs work for the first time yesterday w/ no issues and will continue so gym will be 5 days a week. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 03/04/17 03:00 PM
Question on rejection and going about my businessThis happened this morning. Attempted to initiate, got hard no (which is her getting out of bed), so I got up and dressed for the gym (I had planned on going but didn't say it to her before). I wasn't angry or upset but in her mind I was. This passive/aggressive bit used to work on me...now I ignore it as her feelings are her own. | /r/askMRP | 02/04/17 06:09 PM
Weight loss AdviseWhen I pick up a 45lb plate at the gym, I wonder how I could do much of anything w/ 2 of those added to my weight. A year ago I could do 1 push up and maybe 2 more knee pushups after. But that was it. I had very little upper body strength. It wasn't until TFA's Men of March that I started doing them and was surprised on how many I could do at once (as I just didn't do them @ the gym). I will add though I also started doing a weekly class of technical/instructional oriented yoga (so less flow, mo… | /r/askMRP | 29/03/17 08:34 PM
Weight loss AdviseNot sure about #5, but #1-4 have basically changed who I am. I started lazy keto (no bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beer or wine; did not track macros) about 9 months ago while tipping the scales at 300lbs. I added in daily IF (when I realized I wasn't eating much more then a banana or fiber bar in the morning) about 3 months after that. I started SL5x5 in Sept and moved on to a 4x week PPL variation in Jan due to knee issues (even on box squats). I do do 10-20m on a elliptical pre-workout though… | /r/askMRP | 29/03/17 08:09 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - March 21, 2017When I had anxiety issues a few years ago I found that meditation really helped. You may want to look into doing it on a daily basis. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 23/03/17 04:27 PM
A comprehensive guide for success with women and improving your lifestay away from Ketogenic diets. Keto has been the key to me dropping 90+ lbs. No other diet has ever been effective until keto. And yes, I lift. | /r/TheRedPill | 17/03/17 10:59 PM
High school dude trying to lose weight. Am I dieting the right way and are my meals good?Look into going full keto. I wish I had started doing that when I was your age. Keto + lifting has resulted in 90lbs gone. | /r/askTRP | 14/03/17 04:05 PM
People who lift before work. What is your morning routine and how do you get the energy?A cup or two of hot tea (don't like coffee) when I get up. Gym at 830 to 10. I do elliptical for 20m then lift fit 45m - 1 hr. Drink iced tea throughout day and also bcaa at gym. I avoid eating until after 1-2pm as I'm on keto+daily IF diet. Caffeine before gym is the difference. | /r/askTRP | 02/03/17 05:44 PM
Working Out on the Road - GymsCrunch I've been going to Crunch Fitness in CA for the past 6 months and my local gym (SF area) is pretty good. There rates are set per gym ($10/mth for mine) and you can pay an extra $10/mth for access to all locations. My gym has 4 powerracks along with a squat rack. When I travel down south though and use a location down there, I've found that YMMV for powerlifting. Of course the sights may be better due to who the location caters to (less powerlifters at a gym near a college or in a rich ups… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 24/02/17 10:43 PM
Dealing with the petulant denial of sexDo you do daily IF? I usually eat only between 1 and 7pm; the 24hr is too long for me. IF pls keto along with not heavy lifting (knee tendinitis) has resulted in me going from 282 to 223 in 6 months. I'm 6'3 so I still have a bit to go. | /r/askMRP | 17/01/17 03:59 AM
Stronglifts Update - 5 weeks inAdd at least 5 minutes of stretching before and after your sets. Older guys like us need to stretch out first. Additionally use the rollers on your leg muscles, especially the front thighs down to your knees. Doing this before and after has helped me. Finally, look at doing box squats rather then normal. You won't squat as much but will get better form. | /r/askMRP | 04/01/17 05:00 AM
Body Changes - QuestionIn a way, I'm you. Doing sl also, same levels although I'm in my mid 40s. (my weight though has gone from 295 to 235 over six months). I've found I sleep now; before I would run on 5 hours. Now I need 7-8. I also wake up at 430 like clockwork to pee. Once I hit the floor on my weight (which I don't know what it is), then I'll figure out what fits me well. As it is, everything is loose and baggy. | /r/askMRP | 01/01/17 10:10 PM
We all agree: Lifting is great. What if you can't?Yoga is the first thing I started doing. That combined with doing SL5x5 has made my lower back issues go away. I found a class that is just men...makes it more of a locker room. Knees though are a different issue but doing box squats over regular squats has helped a lot. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 05/12/16 08:42 PM
[FR] Banged some chick from TBPUndeniable truth of life number 24 - Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society. And as a follow up....I love the feminist movement, especially when I'm walking behind it. | /r/TheRedPill | 29/11/16 06:52 AM
How can tall ugly men engineer their life?Grow a beard. Seriously. It will hide your chin some, help play down your lips and mask some of the skin. Additionally, women love beards now. | /r/askTRP | 03/11/16 05:04 AM
A couple lifting questionsThanks. Since I started at the mid 290's, I still have a gut to get rid of. The coffee bit goes back to a number of comments I've read about drinking a bit of coffee before doing lifts. (I just drink a lot of unsweetend black ice tea). | /r/askMRP | 27/10/16 03:58 PM
A couple lifting questionsI'm the fat guy who is trying to gain muscle while losing weight. I've been doing SL for about 8 weeks while keeping to a IF/keto diet. I've found that I'm just not as hungry as I used to be so my calorie intack is usually around 1500. I've lost 50lbs in 5 months but I'm not sure on how much I should really be eating. Also, I can't stand coffee. | /r/askMRP | 27/10/16 04:43 AM
Creeping Disrespect and Testing the Boundaries of TolerationMy wife and I have had separate personal checking accounts for years along with a joint account. Thing is only a pittance was going into then. Recently I got a significant equity adjustment at work and I adjusted how much went into my account quite a bit in response. This allows me to better plan for the day when she either won't be around or worth surprising with a trip (or something like that). | /r/MarriedRedPill | 17/10/16 08:22 AM
50 and taking the red pillSince you're new like many of us are still, I'll refer you to bpp's recent post for new guys. https://m.reddit.com/r/marriedredpill/comments/577yzl/the_value_of_maintaining_a_positive_frame/ The info in this post is vital and being married for as long as you have, you need to take things slowly. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/10/16 05:22 AM
The Value of Maintaining a positive frame especially for new guysThis is one of those posts that need to be revisited every so often for us newer guys. Last night my wife gets home after being out of town and picks a fight over me not doing something that she never asked me to do (when she says she emailed me something and I can show she didn't, theres no doubt). Even when she tried to blow up this one thing into a bigger "communication problem" convo, I just practiced a bit a fogging/neg assertion while she was being all upset. 20 minutes after we went to se… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 13/10/16 05:50 PM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeShe's already tossed the nuke twice on me, but since I kept in frame those times, nothing ever came of it. | /r/askMRP | 15/08/16 07:35 AM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeI did start a journal (in a evernote acct), and I had been in the habit of writing some if her p/a quotes. I've let this slide and need to get back in the habit. | /r/askMRP | 15/08/16 07:32 AM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeI am getting my house in better order then it was. It's at the point where if she left tomorrow, I would need to take over finances (this has long been her domain do my taking it back nerds to take time) and the kids wouldnt see there mom everyday...but that's about it. When I talk to her, and she won't drop it if I dont, I'll have tell her that she was probably correct (I know I says otherwise earlier). But I need to figure the better way to call out her behavior on this. | /r/askMRP | 15/08/16 07:28 AM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeNo...her memory is better (although I will not admit that to her now). I couldn't tell her how things wer going to happen originally due to a number of factors outside of my control (like if my mom had to go to rehad or not). I do need to lead more. | /r/askMRP | 14/08/16 06:31 AM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeThe issue here though is she has a very good memory, and I have a crappier one. But in a situation like this, when we are talking logistics, she does a lot of if/then type shit and I'll just say ok. When I talk to her, I wasn't going to even get into the details of what she said. One thing I failed to mention though is she thinks we should discuss things via email rather then talk more because fights happen (these are fights she ends up starting though). I'm driving home when I originally planne… | /r/askMRP | 14/08/16 06:06 AM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeOne of the issues is that I used to back down. Ever since I started not being a floormat then she started getting more mad when I would just disagree with her. | /r/askMRP | 14/08/16 06:00 AM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeThanks. I knew that I wasn't going to reply by email (email falls under then texting is for logistics). What I thought I was going to point out to her was her not dropping shit like this. I'm rethinking that though. | /r/askMRP | 14/08/16 05:58 AM
Advice needed on handling issue w/ wifeYou're right. This is more about my shitty memory then about when I would be home. | /r/askMRP | 14/08/16 05:54 AM
