Yes, say you bench 80kg for 8 reps and can achieve more reps, bump up the weight. If you can't do more than 8, go down unless you are trying to gain strength. Mainstream diets involve takeaway food, which is high in saturated fats, not always carbohydrates. It is essentially the fats which make the food taste 'better'.
