Not every job in the military involves combat. In fact, I'd put it at around 30% of all jobs in the military involve combat. The other 70% are there to enable the 30% to do the fighting. The trick is, get an ASVAB score above 32 (IE have at least two neurons to rub together) and get one of the many 70% jobs. I'm 35 and I plan on retiring in 10 years if I want to due to a LLC I started for rent houses. The job I have right now is building that LLC up so that in 10 years, I'll be pulling in 4-6k a month profit. Retirement isn't a thing that happens, it's just the point in your financial life where your passive income can completely cover your monthly debt/bills.

Love my mother and she showed me that a single parent can be effective.
