Sometimes I think this sub's weird obsession with shaming pickmeisha behaviours is driven by a messiah complex rather than by having pickmeishas' best interests at heart

I don't want to name and shame, but this so-called "tough love" can be borderline abuse in some posts and comment I have seen in this sub. People will always see what they want to see, so pickmeishas won't see anything wrong with their relationships till they are in crises. They are unlikely to be persuaded by tough love or otherwise, so mocking or calling them out is just a waste of time

I don't have a personal story, just an opinion on this. Since I have mild chronic depression (SAD and dysthymia), if the person I am dating discloses his mental health to me I wouldn't leave him -- immediately. But I will also make some enquiries to understand two things: (1) his attitude towards seeking professional treatment and (2) his coping mechanisms. In other words, is he seeking (or has he even seen) a therapist? Did he have healthy coping mechanisms ? If his answers to those questions a…

For real! Men who clearly have unresolved traumas and whine about toxic masculinity would benefit from therapy yet they resist it. In my personal experiences, women are more likely to seek therapy than men, which says a lot about our resilience and commitment to self-improvement.

I'm gonna give you an excellent excerpt from Steve Harvey's book "Act like a lady, think like a man" for inspiration. After reading it, go read the book - it's a fun and easy read. Instead of saying you “can’t stand it” when a man shows up late, say something like, "Everybody is so busy these days—time sure is precious, isn’t it? I go out of my way to make sure that if I say I’m going to be somewhere at 7:00 P.M., I’m going to be there at 7:00 P.M., if not earlier, so that we can do what we ne…

I have confidence and self-worth, but I also feel deeply so whenever I open my mouth to share with friends or acquaintances not-so-positive feelings (e.g., concerns or doubts) I get slammed for being unconfident and weak. I completely understand your need to mourn the loss of your dream which I assure you doesn't come across as self-pitying. All I want to say to you is try to honour and validate your feelings, because many people (including women) look down on those who dare to show their feelin…

Male and female brains are wired differently. For example, although oxytocin (the "love hormone") is present in both gender, it acts differently in the male and female amygdala. It elevates females' ability to identify who to befriend and how to tend to those relationships, whilst helping males correctly identify competitive relationships and navigate the fight-or-flight response. (Source: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/07/130731093257.htm). However, the study of oxytocin effects is …

Is it enough that he gets hard while making out, that we can assume he isn't a porn addict? My ex jerked off to porn everyday, and he still got hard when we kissed (not made out), so I don't think a dick is a reliable indicator of whatever qualities you assume the owner has.

Perhaps HVM can feel empathy, but for LVM, it's narcissism and projection masquerading as empathy for virtue signalling.

off topic but since I am a teetotaler, are there any ideal first dates for vetting purpose besides dinner/lunch?

I felt sorry for him at first but still left for good because (1) he wasn't motivated to dig deeper to address his traumas and other issues, and (2) his cheating continues, so I ran out of empathy for him. It had nothing to do with proving or disproving whether hurt people hurt people.

And yours blew mine. No wonder I feel even stronger pleasure when the guy still pound me hard after I orgasm. My best sex scenario is a really fit and decent guy with high stamina who will orgasm after me but unfortunately such men are like a needle in a haystack.

I think we can respectfully agree to disagree on that, and it's not related to my post anyway.

I need you to give me a list of French fuckboy behaviours, because everyone and their mothers seem to fall for romantic French men stereotypes but I don't buy it.

Absolutely agree with your description of the liberal patriarchy, but I will have to think about conservative patriarchy before deciding I can agree with it or not. Whilst it's true that it requires men to be providers thus presenting a huge incentive for LVM to change themselves, I feel women are much more repressed in such society, not just sexually but also in many other areas (e.g., their reproductive choices, their careers, their religious beliefs, etc.) that such incentive is kinda negated…

I used to wear being compassionate, sensitive, and a great listener like a badge of honor Funny thing is, I never advertise myself yet the LV (M+WM) can pick me out from the crowd "from a mile away", like you said. But yeah, definitely going to be strategic with who I want to be kind to.

I agree there are good people who hurt, but there are also -- and definitely -- hurt people who hurt people. This kind of trauma repeating behaviours can be found in women as well, not just men. Having said that, I'm not excusing any LV behaviours from men, if that's not clear in my post, so I don't know where you get the impression that I gave them too much credit (for what exactly? being LV)

Interesting! I am from Asia and I have thought that men who were born and bred in a strong patriarchal culture would never be able to transform himself into a HVM. I wonder if there're psychological differences between Asian LVM and Caucasian LVM.

So I'm going to be brutally honest: from my personal experiences, it's very unlikely to land a HVM fwb. This world is just not built for HSP demisexual like us. I dabbled in NSA/hookup culture a bit before having my first relationship, and when we became official I looked back and reflected on how big a pickmeisha I was for wasting time with fwbs who only care about their pleasure. They are either very bad at oral sex, or straight up refused it, and even though I cannot have orgasms from penetra…

HSP, INTJ/INFJ (the T-F ratio is 51/49 or 49/51 depending on the day I take the test) and also demisexual, so hi! What’s your attachment style? I'd like to think mine is secure attachment but considering how broken I am after discovering I was being cheated on, plus that was my only relationship so far, I don't think I have an accurate answer to that. A question that helps me is: what am I available for? Amazing! I'll be thinking about this when I am talking with guys now.

hurt people hurt people! This so much. When I see the vicious circle of parents failing children, mothers failing daughters, and women failing women I feel so upset. I'm glad your therapy is making you feel better and stronger. Whilst I don't have access to quality therapy I have made great strides in accepting and validating myself by writing journals and self-reflecting. I hope to be even more educated with this subreddit.

Maybe you even feel you weren't given enough sympathy as a child because you were abused I definitely suffered from emotional and psychological neglect as a child due to being raised by BPD parents, but I don't think it's the point here. I have made a lot of progress in healing, which I am proud of. Whether my excessive empathy is a result of neglect or not, at this point, doesn't matter. I've already come to terms with the fact that this is who I am, so I care more about how to put my gift to g…

Can you describe your vetting process? I have tried to ask my casual sex partners if they'll go down on me and they either lie (doing it for 5 seconds) or out of insecurity make me promise if they do I'll also go giving them head as if they absolutely must come out of this as winners.
