The irony is so ridiculous. Crying about something where you are very privileged is peak femcel behaviour

No no no, you don't understand. They are both the poor victim and the heroic rebel at the same time. Bad bad patriarchy opresses them so bad, but at the same time they are so brave for wearing clothes they want to stick it to the man!

There won't be a "revolution" where women kill men. However we have seen time and time again under fascist leadership, that minorities get killed, regardless of gender.

I don't know, I'd rather have some dumbass politicians calling me a problem than bleed out at the front. I'd take discrimination over death any day.

I understand that. And I wish I had some advice for you, but I don't. The far-left in my country is infested with misandry and there's no way to ever get that sexism out if their system anytime soon, so I deem it as pointless. The moderate left in my country however seems to embody exactly what you're feeling: everybody should get along. Yes, there are also some individuals who may be sexist, but it's far from a majority and even then it's mostly just out of ignorance, because they keep repeatin…

Most leftwing parties here don't. But maybe that's a cultural thing. If we look at the US for example, MAGA starts pointless wars and throws men into the shredder to distract from their holy leader being a pedophile. And while the US left doesn't care about men, the US right actively kills them.

I mean the left sees you as a problem, the right as canon fodder. My circle is pretty center-left and I'm very happy here. Sexism is a big no, as it should be. So is any other discriminatory behaviour. Find good people and educate them, if they are ignorant in some aspects. And sorry, but the far right aren't good people. War mongering, liars, the far right party here wants to kill all (legal) immigrants or kick them out if the country, which would also completely fuck our economy on top of it. …

Cool cool, people abusing their kids to hold up their horrible ideology. I don't see a father on the picture. I wonder why.

Also they are fucking dangerous. Another day, another "outspoken male feminists" who turns out to be a horrible abuser. They use this label to paint themselves as "one of the good ones" and to lure in their victims. And these radfem women fall for it time and time again. Many men call themselves feminists, because they think it's "a good thing" and that's about it. These are fine. But these men who say "all men are bad" are just projecting, because they are abusers.

It has become such a meme "Listening to the spiritual girl tell me which planets make me sad, so I can get laid" I also wonder if the empathy gap plays a role here, that makes men more patient when it comes to ridiculous beliefs women hold.

I feel that so much, it still happens to me too, when I bring up my female abuser in this "not all men, but always a man" bullshit. "Why do I only know women who were abused?" Idk Karen, maybe because you vilify every man who opens up to you and show them that they are not safe around you?

Completely understand that, I thought this is maybe a public post that you could link to. I don't want to doxx anyone, I would also just do a formal complaint about a public statement. Their stance on this is definitely ass, but they help so many people - men and women alike - that I can neglect it. I'd rather try to steer the 1% I dislike into the right direction than abandoning 99% of which I do like. Could you DM me the profile? I worked for amnesty in the past and they still do amazing stuff all over the world, but we need to fight back against sexists getting a foothold and turning this wonderful NGO into a cesspool of misandrists. "We're willing to educate you about the absolutely unreasonable think we all collectively believe in" It's a fucking hate-cult and it saddens me how many deem themselves "the good ones" who are just as hateful. I love how some of these are actually the exact opposite of what the take is trying to get across. You really see no difference between compliance and learning? Either you come from a couktry with a horrible education system, you are willfully ignorant, or both. Anything of merit has been invented by people who dared to go their own way, had new ideas and visions. Nothing has ever been invented by people who only do as they're told. Beyond hard skills, education is supposed to teach kids critical thinking skills and so much more. I work in this field, but I'm too lazy to look for the correct …

Our current school system rewards compliance. Listening, sitting still and doing as you are told. Boys tend to be more confrontational. Also some researchers suggest that the "girls mature faster" line of thinking holds especially true in that sense, that girls learn some social behaviours faster (like compliance). The very thing that gives men an edge in getter a better pay (being more confrontational leads to men getting raises more frequent and of higher quality, due to asking for it and actu…

School is catered to girls, of course boys will lash out more. If we would change the education system to fit boys better than girls, we would see girls being more disruptive. As a teacher you have to actively change your lessons in a more unorthodox way to fit the needs of the kids better. Of course these are broad generalisations, but there definitely is an obvious trend.

Some people make a living selling the idea that a group of people are all victims and everything bad that has happened to them is someone else's fault. These people hate accountability and will gobble up any kind of bullshit, as long as it means they can hate on other people rather than looking in the mirror. In Nazi germany we had "Jews bad", in the cold war "communists bad", in the era of segregation "black people bad" and now "men bad". Same idea, different group.

At this point I can imagine how some rich people in their mansion laugh their asses off when feminists scream at everyday men to stop oppressing them. It's ridiculous how gullible these people are. Here in Germany we had Merkel for 16 years. I always ask them if they felt "less oppressed" in these years and to point out laws Merkel put in place for the average woman. Really? Look at the top posts in this subreddit. All of it is calling out sexism. Calling out sexism is not hatred. If we talk about femizides, do we hate on men or are we talking about sexism that endangers people? We should give men the same empathy we give women. Noone deserves hate for being man or woman.

Sorry but saying "stop feeding into their victim complex" and suggesting feminism is pretty hypocritical. The "cesspool of hatred" is also something Erin Pizzey experienced when she tried to speak up for men as well (she already founded the first women's shelter). And it was not by men. Speaking out against sexism is not hatred. Considering men as people who are worthy of empathy is not hatred. Being egalitarian is not hatred.

Blanket statements like that are not getting anyone anywhere though. Neither men nor women are a monolith and pretending like they are is just further dividing us. Yes, there are definitely women out there like that. There are also married men in their 60s commenting thirsty shit under barely legal instagram models' pictures. Eh I wouldn't care too much. I also love "everywhere I go" from Hollywood Undead, which is pretty mysoginistic, but it's just a fun song. I have some songs in my playlist that have some misandrist lyrics as well. How many songs in different metal genres sign about the glory of war, while usually metalheads are pretty pacifistic. Just wanna point out the infamous scene in captain america, where he becomes the supersoldier and the actress touches his chest. Reminder that this was unscripted and she said she just couldn't help herself. So.... I wonder what this author would think if the roles were reversed. If men and women are the same in that regard, why is this okay while a man groping a woman's breast would be sexual assault? Yeah, what a load of bullshit.

"one of the good ones", describes a fucking lunatic. Lady, I think you got that shit confused. To put it in their own words: "for someone with privilege, equality feels like oppression" They know how much better than have it in the areas you mentioned, but they feel threatened, because they emjoy special treatment. Equality only in aspectd where they are behind, but keep the privileges in every area they are ahead. That's their logic and when someone remind them of the definition of equality, they lash out.

Depends what you define as transactional. If you trade money for beauty, the relationship will fall apart if one of those things become less. Look at Leonardo Dicaprio, why do you think he always has a new, young woman by his side? Once they get too old for his liking, he switches them. Those are transactional relationships. If your relationship is build on building a life together, similar values and attributes like kindness and honesty, there's nothing you'd trade that person for.
/r/MenSupportMen08/08/24 05:48 PM
1

Then they seek a transactional relationship, which by the looks of it, you do not. In those the usual trade for money and status is usually either youth and beauty or being a housewife and taking care of children. If you want an actual partner, rather than someone you basically buy (trading money for someone's company is just a more exclusive kind of escort business), then do not envy those people.

Sounds like you are in a shitty environment. Don't let it poison you. The little window that you're looking through is far from everything. And trust me, getting picked by a gold digger is not fun either, especially after working so hard.

Just think about what you want in a partner. Would you not want someone who carries their own weight, has a good hygene, a tidied up apartment and a stable job? Add on top of that qualities like kindness, resilience, honesty and the likes. This makes for a good partner. Much better than the opposite. If you lack in any of these, it's worth working on. For yourself first and foremost. However with this you also attract a partner that is similar in those regards. However if this is the advice you …

If you desire an honest connection and want your partner to also be your best friend, throw all of that advice out of the window. There's really only one rule: try to be the best you, so you can attract the best partner. Which does not mean to pretend to be someone else or wear a mask, but to improve as a person and take care of yourself. If you don't have trouble making friends, it's just a matter of time until you find a genuine romantic connection as well.

I think you have a heavily skewed vision of the majority of the population. Most people (both men and women) are looking for a partner, not some sex doll. On top of that taste varies. I for example am definitely not everyone's cup of tea, I'm a little androgynous, skinny with long hair and painted nails. Similar to the girl I'm dating, she's rather muscular for her small frame, short hair, heavily tatted. I know for example my best friend would find my gf physically unappealing, to me she's beau…

You seem to have a very unhealthy relationship to sex and I'd actually suggest looking into therapy. This obsession will ruin any relationship. The most important and intimate thing should be connecting with your partner on an emotional level. And sex should just be one of the expressions of that. Why does size matter so much to you? Every body is different and the most important part is, that two bodies connect and it feels good together. Speaking of dicks, there's so much more to it than size.…

It's just a stupid double standard. Women get excused for hating men. I've been abused in basically every possible way by women, but if I were to say "I hate women", I'd get so much shit, being called hateful, sexist, mysgonistic. The point is: I don't hate women. I have wonderful women in my life and demonizing half the population because you had some bad encounters with a few of this group is absolutely insane.

I've both gotten raped and beaten up, if you want me to spell it out. Excuse me for missing out on the word "near". You compared getting beaten to near death to being raped, not being raped to near death. Violation in all ways is something we should do something about. But comparing hard labour to sexual exploitation is insulting and not the way to go, because it is exactly that, playing down the trauma those people have faced.

There's also a big difference in being raped and being raped to death, so I don't understand your exaggeration here. I've had both happen to me without my life being in danger and I can for sure tell you which was worse. Downplaying rape and sexual assault is not the way for men's issues being overlooked. Quite the opposite. Male victims have enough troubles with that already, without you adding fuel to the fire.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates24/02/24 02:28 PM

I agree with you that we shouldn't make a hierarchy of injustices, but I can understand how someone sees hard labour being compared to sexual exploitation and rape as downplaying rape. Because let's be honest, pleasing people sexually the whole day is also hard manual labour with the addition that you are getting raped on top of that.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates24/02/24 02:25 PM

Not the person you replied to, but I agree with them. Both are exploitative, however being forced to work as a sex worker is a lot more traumatizing I'd argue. Hard labour is hard labour, but is not comparable to something as intimate as sexuality. Both are unacceptable, yes, but to me the equation is similar to: being raped is worse than being beaten up. Yes, both harm you, but being raped is far more traumatizing.

Not being sexually compatible is definitely a reason to split up. Well, it would be better to break up before getting married of course. However, the double standard you speak of definitely exists. "A woman doesn't owe you sex" vs "everyone hss needs and if your partner doesn't fulfill them, look for someone who does". It plays into the notion that sex is not something both parties consent to, but every time a couple has sex, it's actually the woman doing the man a favor. You'll see this in exam…

I absolutely agree! Maybe I worded it poorly, but you should definitely have and not let people overstep your boundaries, no matter what they might be. There's definitely a double standard. Often times when you as a man fall into things like depression and are left for it, the partner will get support, as "it's understandable, because you should be a provider and can't give her that anymore" or something similar. These people are both the first calling out toxic gender roles, while enforcing them to the max when it benefits them. Unconditional love is a one way street. There is discrimination, but since graduation numbers are even, the prejudice that turns into for example slightly worse grades gets overlooked. Yeah that was pretty much my point, but I have to admit that I was a little emotionally loaded after the "it's men's fault" comment. I came off as very "you have no right to complain, it's your own fault" vibe and since that person is rather close to me it made me felt s little hurt that they would think that way. So the discussion became less factual and more emotional, which is never good and very unusual for me

This was exactly my argument, which they were sceptical about. It seems very hard for them to accept that women did half of the work of upholding they system in which they lived in.

While I do agree with most of your points, women being able to make change as voters is "rather new". And of course even most men weren't allowed to vote back in the day, but I think on that issue sexism was in my opinion a bigger discriminatory factor than, for example, class.

Same thing for me. Worst one was when I dated an outspoken "woke" feminist. I helped her deal with all her shit and was always there for her. The first time I cried in front of her (due to me falling into a strong depression) was after a year of being together, she told me she can't be together with an emotional man who idn't "masculine" enough. So she just left. After one year. Just like that. Because I cried. It's very hard for me to cry, because while my male friends always supported me, any …

That last paragraph holds so much truth. So many feminists treat men as bad/oppressord/whatever, then wonder why they don't have good relationships with men and then conclude it's the fault of all men, because that's how they are. Well maybe if you would treat them like human beings, you could actually become real friends with men. I know, crazy!

I feel like your last sentence summed it up perfectly. I'll give you an example on the ridiculous try on gender neutral language in german. As it is a genedered language, there are few geneder neutral terms. How it used to be was you would say "actresses and actors" (Schauspielerinnen und Schauspieler) to include everyone. Also the masculine form is generic, so saying "actors" or "actor" doesn't necessarily mean a male person. Unless specified it could be either male or female, however "actress"…

I completely agree. It feels like the left has been swallowed whole by identity politics and if you don't agree with absolutely everything, you need to leave. There's no room for nuance, healthy scepticism or criticism and it makes me sad. I miss the punk "fuck you I won't do what you tell me" anti-authoritarian left that I used to love, now it seems like authoritarianism is celebrated, especially when it comes to thoughts and opinions.

Hey man, don't try to "pleade women". If you are being a different person around them, it just makes things worse. Also from my personal experience, trying to "force" a relationship won't end well. My advice would be to go out more and I don't mean bars, but some hobbies were you meet new people. Get some good friends, male and female alike. My girlfriend is rather supportive. We actually met when we both worked for an NGO, so we knew the other person was involved with social issues. She just focuses more on inequality for women and I focus on inequality for men. It's nice that we don't see villians in each other, but rather disadvatages or inequalities for either gender. Let's take PB for example. He created Amnesty and the principles. The control is in a democratic vote from the members. He actually tried to change AI in a way that they accept larger sums as donations, but AI didn't want that so noone could buy them and make them dependent. So PB could do nothing about that topic, even though he created it. That's what I meant. There is no leader. The members of AI choose in a democratic vote what to do.

I srrongly disagree. I don't think a good movement needs leadership at all. We don't need a CEO of men's rights. Neither do we need lobbying or full time advocates or this will fall inti the same trap as feminism, with clickbaity headlines, low value posts and opinion pieces. I very much agree with you and the last thing you said is a great point. In general that's a great way for advocacy, I'm just worried about the people who can't take that treatment and who will break under it. I think Silverman was his name? The guy who opened up a domestic violence shelter for men and committed suicide because of all the harassment he faced. And yet people barely know and/or care. Sometimes I think there are just too many people who do not care when they see men get mistreated.

Oh yeah I also see some white knights here and there, because the stereotypical "I only date guys over 6' " is somehow men's fault? The mental gymnastics.... Not saying that a lot of women are like that, but the few who are.... I mean how are their weird standards the fault of men? I mean that's a completely different topic but that double standard actually goes back to the empathy debate.

I think one issue is that some people see it in a way of "empathy for men ends where empathy for women begins". Think of the news when it says ".... [number] of victims, [number] were women and [number] children." They point that out because in mainstream eyes generally speaking the life of women and children are worth more. So yes, men are (sometimes) worthy of empathy, but not when women are involved. It's women and children first. Which kinda reflects what you said. If he had adopted a child …

Complete agree with u/kenbrucedmr here. Don't do hookups and find someone you feel comfortable and are on the same page with. Get to know each other. Meet each others friends. Take your time. Don't rush things. And talk about it before you have it so there are no misunderstandings. Wish you the best of luck, bro. Because someone looked at the people on top and instead of seeing all the things they have in common (like wealth and social status), they thought PENIS! And that's that. Because it's so easy to have a scapegoat that the top can exploit, too. Imagine blaming someone who holds a lot of power in society, if you would want to replace that person and seek power yourself, you need to somewhat be different from them. So it's easy to say "men are bad, men are in power, I am a woman, give me power".

They don't want men to be themselves, be better than they were yesterday or improve their lives. They want men to change in a way they allow it under their feminism-lense. Once again I find it concerning, that you can't differentiate between "not guilty under a certain law", "not morally guilty" and "did nothing wrong". Homosexuality was and is in many countries still a crime. So is a homosexual person "innocent" in some countries and "guilty" in others? Or does it finally appear to you, that there isn't a universal law, that laws change and that just because a judge says someone is guilty, doesn't necessarily mean they are (false convictions) and the same is to a…

They actually are harder to prove since there often times isn't a lot of evidence and is often times word against word. I don't find the innocent until proven guilty standard inconvenient at all, I just find it a bit concercing that you consider "innocent" to be a synonym for "not proven guilty". Rape or sexual assault is just really difficult to prove sometimes. Just becazse there was not enough evidence for someone to be convicted, doesn't mean that person didn't do it. Neither does it mean that they did. It simply means that we don't know. I didn't even report it when I was raped, because I thought that 1. Men can't be raped and 2. Noone would believe me anyway.
