Hope this isn't a weird question, but I'd like to know how you fellas are manifesting courage / bravery in your life. As a victim of infant and child abuse of pretty much every type, trauma has caused fear to take hold in every crevice of my body and is crippling my life in every way.

Because of the public discourse and media focus, we don't really see courage in males represented or honored any more, perhaps it's shamed even. The message that's been ideologically beaten into me by modern culture is that only women should be brave and fight, but in men it's and bad and will probably be used to abuse women. Obviously, I'm more sensitive to these messages than typical, but that's what I find the beliefs are.

I'm not exactly looking for heroism, because that's flawed. But how can I personally, find out what I can start with? Further, I'm afraid of even finding courage to fight back the fear, because I fear that could lead to violence, which I've also been conditioned to avoid at any cost.
