I've been a long time fan of aba and preach. That redpill video is what got me hooked on them years ago, and im glad abas following up on that video. But near the end he mentioned something about adding contexts to stats and how people just throwing it out there is just low in behaviour. He also brought up the male suicide thing and gives a joking interpretation as "oh they should just cease from existence!". I had a male feminist bring up that same stat, and interpreted it as toxic masculinity.…

I am not a fan of Hasan Piker, but I am a fan of Aba and Preach, whom called Hasan out for exatly this, esp with the "all men" rhetoric.

They easily had the chance to cover the Last of Us which has the same emotional element Pragmata is showing us. Surprised that went over their heads. I like Aba and Preach when it comes to videos like this.

Yea much of what you said like "gender is a social construct/sex is biology" as well as calling people AMAB or AFAB feels like the mainstream left are adapting to the complaints of the right and are coming up with new words to acknowledge biology while keeping the social construct narrative alive, but it kinda feels like a workaround if you ask me. But in practice, most people use sex and gender interchangeably. So even if they did come up with new terms to separate biology from gender narrative…

> males and females with the correct chromosomes but other conditions that make their primary or secondary sex characteristics not align with the typical outcome for males and females, like androgen insensitivity causing XY males to not develop as male, otherwise developing as if they are female. Can you expand on this actually? I remember I've read something like this, like girls with XX chromosome that have CAH or higher androgen development for example, but the only thing I understand from th…

It's not something to prove, I've already stated what you can learn from it in my post.

I remember looking into this bit. There are females with XY chromosome and males with XX chromosomes, but IIRC, these cases usually come with medical issues (or it could be a case where doctors are discriminatory against transsexuals or intersex?). And these weren't the only chromosome combinations that denotes to medical issues. Tho I'm not well educated on this particular topic.

I like the 2 values you list out there. Regardless of social constructionism and evolutionary psychology, I think anyone would be sane enough to follow them. Your response is an interesting one, especially with pointing out how social constructionism is used by feminists and differentiating that between feminism and clear cut fascist ideology.

You mentioned biology gives us needs and incentives. What would they be specifically?

Behaviours are hardwired tho, it's just not as rigid as we think it is. Personality psychology establishes that around 30-60% of our traits are inherited. This comes out as temperaments, personality traits that arent necessarily cultivated, yet just comes out of us. That doesn't mean we can't cultivate traits outside of our temperaments tho. We can, and we all have individual upbringings. There's also individual variations within temperaments as well. With that said, I agree with your other poin…

Except I think behavioural predetermination is a thing, and i don't think we do it any justice to deny that. Various twin studies are done on personality psychology because it's understood that our personality traits are inherited, at least between 30-60% of the time IIRC. I just don't think we're stuck with what we got. Just because our temperament comes with specific traits doesn't mean we can't be flexible and cultivate traits outside of it (which happens all the time due to adapting to envir…

That's a good point. Humans building complex social systems actually reminds of different societies that gave this setup. Namely some Asian and Arabic countries separating by sex. I agree gender roles are not fixed. Perhaps it depends on environment. My thought process is the more dangerous an environment was, maybe those roles were amplified, but the more safer our environment is (or the less dangers we face) the roles become more flexible or not as strict as they were back then?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/04/26 05:45 PM

Using sex and gender as synonyms is another discussion altogether as there are people who reject that there's a difference between sex and gender. But idk about this. Sex doesn't just affect the organ areas. From what I understood from the Evo psych field, behaviours can be influenced from the hormones we're exposed to. Since testosterone is a hormone that males as a whole are exposed to at higher levels than females, that would make them more opportunistic, aggressive, and more risk taking (or …

Who said it was a hoax? I do understand there are people who don't believe in evolutionary psychology, but i thought this was constrained to mainstream leftist/feminist circles.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/04/26 05:17 PM

Why do you say hardwired is a gross oversimplification? The rest of your explanation makes sense.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/04/26 05:15 PM

So I looked into those specific terms you've mentioned. Behavioral ecology seems to describe trade-offs in strategy based on genetic fitness (or an individual genetic fitness), whereas frequency-dependent selection is a natural selection process where the successful reproduction of a trait depends on how common it is, categorized into negative or positive (negative meaning common strategies fail, rare ones success whereas positive meaning common strategies succeed and rare ones fail). I managed …

> This is not to mention that this theory, called Bateman's Principle, relies on many debunked studies and flawed methodologies like keeping animals in captivity which makes them behave Doesn't bateman's principle posits that females invest heavily in reproduction due to the fact they can get pregnant (which comes with dealing with gestation) whereas men don't, even though their sperm is needed to fertilize the egg? How does this get debunked? That's the first I've ever heard of this. But your p…

Right but that would not be a behaviour inspired from evo-psych, it's moreso your choice. Evo psych posits that the behaviour in men and women, in terms of sex and courtship, are hardwired through years of evolution. I don't think it mentioned saying the desire to want kids is hardwired or something like that. Perhaps I didn't get my understanding right?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/04/26 11:02 PM
2

I might've missed them, but how does the literature acknowledge the concerns I point out? Perhaps I didn't do enough research into it apart from reading a couple of scientific papers, but I'm curious to know what they've said about it. I think some literature I've read said "it's individual variation" and that's it. Are you saying the extensive literature you've read actually said more about the concerns I got?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/04/26 11:00 PM
1

True. Why do you think the fact you're childfree fits into this? I do understand having children is passing on your genes, but I thought there's no true desire to have kids unless you're saying evolutionary psychology should give us the biological urge to have kids.

"But if applying those means completely changing your personality, that’s where you create inconsistency within yourself." That's actually what happens most of the time. They're not completely changing themselves. They do express interests, share true stories, and talk about traits that come naturally to them, but they do it by blending aspects of themselves with the social skills and techniques they developed. The best way to put this is they're curating themselves, but that's still putting on …

My advice would be this. Work on the following to a basic level: Learn to read social skills, develop your own sense of humor, understand your personality, understand signs of interest, and find channels that works well with you that puts you in a position to meet women i.e cold approach, social circles, events, bars, game cafes, etc. A bonus would be this. Have other guy friends who are also trying to meet women, and see how women act around them. You'll get a good idea of the common behaviours…

Right, but I bet the women saying this are also imagining a guy they're attracted to saying this. They just won't be into some guys. So whenever someone say "just be yourself" manage expectations and emphasize potential tradeoffs they're making when choosing to be themselves. Authenticity does have a price, but once you know what's on the other side, paying for it is worth it.

I've seen plenty of couples get together in school. An advice like this helps once you're in the adult world, but I don't think it should take this long just to talk to an attractive woman. The skills it takes to get a man to talk to an attractive woman is relative short and quick to learn when you put in the effort, so I don't think any man has to wait in order to get started. "Have a career" advice helps to build a life together. Agreed. The younger you start, the better Agreed too Agree with …

The advice is sound, the problem is usually the framing. This advice is often framed as "just be yourself, and girls will like you and have sex with you." If this is all you need, then you'd be racking up numbers and body counts by now. But it usually isn't. At the same time, I have enough dating experience to actually disagree with succeeding "short term" (if we're talking about casual sex that is). The advice needed for short term success can come from the basics of holding a conversation, dev…

Right but we didn't call it the manosphere. It's likely the feminists did. Beyond that, a lot of people associate the term manosphere with redpill in practice. Feminists thinks all male groups are just 1 entity which is the manosphere, but i'm willing to bet the large majority who's heard the term "manosphere" and associate it with redpill likely didn't do their research into all male groups nor feminism as a movement. No. Most men did not oppress women for thousands of years, nor did they abuse them. The only men likely to do this back then are those at the top 1%, and feminists hyperfocus on this specific group a lot and extrapolate it to most men, so of course they're gonna think most men abuse women. Even the feminist authors who wrote these books a long time ago came from middle-high class backgrounds so they're dealing with the type of man a large majority of men couldn't become. This is an apex fallacy.…

"A woman can learn to love a guy she wasn't initially into." So does this mean chemistry is a choice? If she tells me no, I just keep trying until she says yes? So much dangerous messaging in that one sentence.

Did she forget that the sperm from men is what's needed to fertilize the egg and for her to produce the baby? The sperm doesn't come from nowhere. Same with honey. With cows you can say they definitely produce milk, but you can't say this for the other 2.

This will likely attract men who fully buy into feminist ideology and believe they're undoing the harm of the patriarchy. But some men will wake up from this hopefully.

This raises a very valid point about men who are actually very likely to need help. Feminist talk about how they like men who aren't traditional male archetype but their behaviors show otherwise. They spend more time bitching about men rather than actually help the non traditional male archetype.

I have considered this. Considering our current social climate, I'd have to assume most of the attention they're getting is usually online. There are men like myself who approach IRL but me personally I do less of that and don't play much of a numbers game there (but other guys still do)

They'd have more incentive to follow the female gender role, but mostly out of choice tho. But the only way I could see them being forced into it is if they're affected by people calling them desperate, easy, or slutty when they do make the first move. In the case of conservative, they might even label her as unfeminine. But I can see a woman bypassing this by not caring (which I admit is easier said than done). I have read stories on women who make the first move on their bfs and have that work…

> She is supposed to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride while the guy works like a dog to impress her. As I read this this came to mind. Women have the expectation to show enthusiasm to inspire interest and pursuit of the man. If they want to drive things forward, they make suggestions to him to make him take the lead. So they're active in trying to see if he plays his role or not. But women also have a role to play too, in that they can't be too forward with what they want or they risk being s…

I'm actually surprised by this, considering the UK recently is trying to implement a misogyny course in school as they view men's behaviour to be problematic. I took a look at the link you shared and it does seem to be going in the right direction in terms of male victims of violence.

Many of the reasons you pointed out is the reason why I don't have a favorable view of feminism, even liberal feminism which I like the idea of the most. Intersectional feminism may seem deep as well, but like you said, like all feminism, it's rooted in patriarchy theory. I can never accept that.

I'll give some basic distinction. I think the left, when it grounded itself on the principle of universalism, is a wonderful concept. The idea that everyone should have the same access to resources, respect, and a life to thrive in, etc. The focus of uplifting the working classes. 100% on board with that. With that said, the left in practice has brought into toxic ideologies that paint some kind of androphobia towards men in these spaces. It comes from a mixture of things i.e bad experience with…

"I tolerate men because I'm attracted to them" wtf is the logic behind this?? If he has such a low opinion of men but is still attracted to them, there's no obligation to tolerate them. He can just avoid them and not do anything. Tolerate means they learn to cope with situations that are not favorable, like a Trump supporter in woke spaces. He sounds like the women who wishes they weren't attracted to men. Probably internalized the patriarchy theory too.

Some of these I do agree with as there are men out there with these expectations. Expecting a traditional woman who pays bills screams male convenience, and it actually happens quite a bit. Wanting zero kids but having zero condoms. Honestly idk who doesn't carry protection when they're gonna have sex. I understand having it raw, but at that point they gotta know what they're doing. It's about responsibility at that point. "Being told what the issue is over and over again" Tbh I've been in that …

i would actually agree here. Most coaches would tell you to lower your standards as their goal is to increase your options (esp more willing options) even if you're not that into them. But I pursued girls I wasn't that into for the sake of playing a numbers game, and I realize most guys pursue girls they're not into because to them it's easy access to sex. I fully believe there's nothing wrong with being nice, but to people like this, I'm exploitation material. Fuck that noise. I pay attention to context in these cases. This answer is easy for me. One who might not be interested but won't know until I try. I have certain reservations when it coms to women who seems a little scared of me. They could be into me, or they could be like women who'd pick the bear. Granted, I understand women have some fear of men, esp walking alone at night, but the last thing I want to do is to hit on a woman that's clearly scared of me when I haven't done anything to her. I used to work on social awkwardness before understanding my disability had a large role to play in that. So most of the traits I used to think were negative, I now see it as part of my condition. A lot of people want someone who's social skilled and just 'gets it' the very thing neurodivergents struggle a lot with because our brains work differently. So I mean to keep it in mind.

For me it was the patriarchy BS. There's a lot of gendered problems in the world that men and women uniquely face, but feminist would pin all this on the patriarchy, which opens gateways to blame men cuz the small minority of men hold the power (true) and the majority of men help uphold it (something they don't even know about). This is a very important point. Most dedicated feminists will believe in the patriarchy. That's a fundamental concept, even if these said feminists think they're helping men. "There's the people who take it at face value that being a feminist just means believing in gender equality, and the movement doesn't concern itself with anything more than that." I used to be that type of person. I thought the behaviours of individual feminists were extreme and that if it just means equality, that's an ide…

I personally experienced this type of discussion in my early 20s. I was ignorant of feminist messaging, agreeing with the overall principle of equality (which I learned to disassociate from the term feminism). In my college days, people who were critical of feminism has said "men today are too feminised, they don't know how to be real men. Even some women I know personally have more masculine qualities than they do, they would eat them for breakfast". That type of narrative wasn't the norm when …

I'm approaching the 30s now so I'm not that young anymore. I felt like my golden years were already ruined. I thought it was due to a bad friend, but even in my golden years I was able to find dates. I don't think I agree with that statement. Emotional labour is trying to hold space for the difficult emotions for the other. It is true that there are women who expected unreasonable expectation of emotional labour and vice versa, but I don't think that alone proves they hate men. As a role, I see where you're coming from. But masculinity is also used in other domains such as personality, especially in the context of the Big 5. Tbh I suspect what a lot of people consider masculine are the traits men commonly adopt within the Big 5, which is said to be scientifically validated. But that also means there's a small percentage of men who are feminine according to it as well.

Okay, I see what you mean. It seems like feminists generally say don't do this or that when giving general advice. I guess it's a completely different thing when actual specific scenarios are involved, which I can see that happening. It's like the whole "Just go talk to her" "No not like that!" "don't ask a woman out in any situation that is physically possible in the real world" I actually disagree that feminist saying this, as that's very explicit. Most feminists, tbf on their part, would just say "Accept her no, respect her decision, and move on, don't be a creep!" a lot of the times. Are some problems too big to solve or take too long to get to a solution? Do you think that's the reason why therapy mostly gives you things to help you cope with it? Maybe coping is a temporary strategy til we get to a point we stumble across a solution to our problem (mostly at an individual level, not the broad level). Maybe therapy is not meant to solve our problems, but to help us find our own way. What do you think?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/09/25 01:20 PM

would it be better to say men with mental health issues need help instead of saying they need therapy? I see your point about it not being a magic bullet for everyone. Therapy is marketed as a way to achieve change by changing how you engage with it both mentally and physically, especially when the problems we're talking about are too big for overnight change compared to what we can do at an individual level.

"Men didn't create gender norms" we got people who think they do, but they won't tell you that. I've noticed this bit too, which is why it's so important to stress there are certain ideologies we don't subscribe you, and make it very clear (point blank) that these are the things we're criticizing and not the other. For example, there are double standards for men. Men are still expected to follow their gender norms while women aren't. But redpill will conclude this with "we don't want a ran through woman" because to them, virginity is some kind of purity, but for us left-wing male advocates…

If you keep your questions open-ended, the machine will give you responses it's trained in. But there is such a thing as system prompt. From my experience, approaching and the opener is always gonna induce anxiety, weather you're an extrovert or introvert, it's just one of those things we gotta get over. But 1-on-1 is easier for the introvert if the other party genuinely engages in a conversation. If you're expected to carry the conversation without them giving anything back, of course it's gonna be hard. Extroverts can power through those kinds of obstacles naturally, but introverts not so much.

I'm an introvert and based on what he described here, these are scenarios where introverts can shine since it's not a big group. Social circles are only luck based if you don't have high social status. If you have high social status, people will naturally seek you out. Guys achieve this by being the social butterfly, being charismatic, or showcasing a valuable skill in a natural way. Yes rejection doesn't matter, yet that's what you're facing most of the time in cold approach. The fact that is unusual is what makes them cold environments, hence why it's called a cold approach. There's no social context that connects you 2 together. Parties are moreso warm approaches. I think this has less to do with having malicious intent and more to do with emotional regulation. Being rejected is often a painful experience, and for some people, it gets them to lash out. In the context of a man and woman dynamic, a man who can't handle the sting of rejection would be volatile enough to physically harm her out of a reaction rather than intent. I agree with a lot of your reasons actually, especially point number 1 which the article I linked to does point out. But I spoke to a friend about it and he pointed out gendered fears. So women fear the physical much more greatly, and men are, on average, physically stronger than women. That means the 1% of a direct rejection that could go badly for her could end her life. The man's fear is social and reputational. All a woman has to do is spread a false word and a man's reputation is ruined. Ag…

My apologies if I came off as dismissive of those issues. I titled this post in quotes. It's because someone else in my life said this very recently in the convo and while that is true, I wanted to dive deeper into it. The reason why I specified that circumstance is cuz my focus was on finding a middle ground between men and women concerning those dynamics. That's why I said "Now before anyone comes at me...", it's because I want to focus on that situation specifically and how it's harming both …

Yea you should've just read my post. Those experiences women have are real, but the level they take this to could be due to ideology conditioning like you've pointed out. The experience is real in a sense they encounter shitty guys, but it becomes ideological if they believe "my safety is more important than your feelings" and opt not to give a straight answer.

You bring up a lot of good points here man. Women don't handle rejection well. I had guys in college share these stories with me. I've seen videos where women do get violent with men. So sometimes I wonder if these statements are true or if they're just feminist brainwashing. But it is prevalent enough for most women that it is a valid concern. Sane with the men. The double bind you're talking about is the contradictory situation men are put into, whereas the double bind I described is more of a…

> We just don't cry in front of people who weaponise our emotions against us. That's been my point. You don't truly heal from vulnerability if someone is gonna use it to attack you. You'd keep protecting yourself which no one (at least not here) would blame you for. They just re-opened that wound again, exactly what I talked about in my post.

She's essentially saying that everything she's heard about men as a group got her to stop seeing men as men and seeing them as threats. When there's brain activity looking for exits, then you can't relax. However, she talks about how relaxed she is and it's because her man is aware of their surroundings for her, so she doesn't have to worry about that, and say that's masculinity. It's like when you have brain activity, it's either the feminist perspective, which is all men are threats, or they'r…

No one is saying everyone has to cry. It's one example of the many difficult emotions that sometimes anger does cover up such as fear, embarrassment, sadness, etc, when we're trying to protect something. Crying is just one way to release an emotion, but since it's mostly assumed women cry more than men, feminists are trying to get men to cry more when vulnerability is just more than crying. Any emotion you can express in vulnerable moments with protection down, and have that accepted, is gonna h…

I see where you're coming from, and I do understand your personal experiences. In this space, we understand that generalizations based on genders aren't a great thing. Yet mainstream society and feminists still talk about it in that way so I suppose the purpose of my generalizing was to address that narrative. Even then, some of the therapist I spoken to on consultation calls consistently tell me that men have a very hard time with vulnerability and women generally don't in their experience, but…

I agree I should've used 'some' men instead of just saying 'men' as now that sounds like a generalizations I agree with you 100% on the rest of your point. But my point is feminists are trying to tie their concepts into how society is treating men and boys. It is true that society tells boys to man up and they shouldn't cry, but calling that society a patriarchy is false.

Right but the root of that is usually insecurity (you could also say entitlement and manipulative as well tbh, tho the last one carries machievelian connotations). It just shows up in a very particular way by them saying "I was such a good guy that bitch should've chose me" (which btw I would dig deeper by what they usually mean by "nice" when they say it, because it's usually a form of "if I show up honestly then she won't like me, so i just gotta be extra good to her and get her to develop int…

Maybe we can do what they kept doing. Redefine terms and put our own definitions in them (or in this case, bring definitions back to its original form before feminist perspectives started taking over). Feminist love to say "I don't think you know what feminism means, it means equality" or "the patriarchy doesn't mean all men, but it's a system built by men that all men implicitly benefit from" and they love to redefine things. Ik I'm late to answering this, but I'd say watch it with a very critical eye. Yes, this film was made to primarily address misogyny and violence against women, but there's information around this case that makes the plot more blurry, such as the girl bullying him with the rhetoric and the questions he's being asked which showcased intense incel behaviour. Misinformation. The Ugandan murderer was going to see an ex to return belongings (more of a ruse on his part), that was the time that murder happened. Now to be clear, the victim was not his ex, but his ex's friend. But that would indicate he has dated before.

Honestly dude I graduated high school in 2014, and I've seen couples in middle school, so wouldn't be surprised if they were having sex. But I agree they shouldn't be starting this young. I even read on this shows wikia page about the murders it was inspired from. None of that had to do with incel culture or the redpill at all. It was just something they added. The Elaine Andam one, the killer actually dated. The story involves him going to his exes house to return belongings (though it was more of a ruse for the killer to rob his ex iirc). It's an emotionally charged topic. Not surprising given the polarized times we're living in and the level of dishonesty people have in these conversations. Even statistics can be used as weapons to say "I'm right you're wrong" which will create an adversarial effect if we're not careful. I've read books like this in the past. Advice for women and men of that nature are coming from the place of doing moves to make the other invest in them and holding back. It's about trying to control the interaction and propping yourself as a "high value" person. It's a power play dating book. Do you think it's also beneficial to disassociate "she doesn't like me" from "I'm not worthy as a person"? Because to me, they're 2 distinct concepts that don't really relate to each other. Perhaps I'm more practical minded in that sense. "you don’t need to entertain someone who isn’t into you or who doesn’t take you seriously. This comes down to a lack of self-awareness, and since men and women have different experiences with dating, it's gonna be hard for a man to understand a woman's world and vice versa, which is why it's mostly best men take advice from other men and women take advice from other women. IMO persistence in this situation is not worth it. Can you win someone over this way? Yea, but then you're also inviting other dynamics into yourself with this approach, ones that for myself am not about. Most people in dating (especially women) communicate via non-verbal subtleties. "Luck is when preparedness meets opportunity." Interesting perspective mate. I've heard a lot of people say "dating mostly requires luck". While I do understand where they're coming from, they mostly use it as a cop-out and find themselves in dynamics like oneitis, friendzone, etc. I've done my preparation work, so once I see opportunities, I execute.

I take a different mentality here. If me being nice and normal is forgettable to her, then she's the type who wants men to court her and make her feel emotions, and likely the type to respond to bad boys, or I'm not that physically attractive to her and would need to employ this just to evoke emotion in her. I don't play that game. I'd rather have a girl feel physical attraction for me at first sight than to employ this, as I don't need much game with a woman who's willing to make it easy for me…

I'm a straight male, and there have been plenty of moments I wish I was gay given the amount of bs going on in heterosexual dynamics. And this isn't coming from a position of misogyny (I don't hate women) but both sexes have become so polarized to political ideologies that they tie their identity around it. I guess that's what happens when the personal becomes political.

The reason it dominates the conversation is because wanting a spouse is a natural human need, which is something most people are able to understand because their own bodies give them messages like these. But family courts, duluth model and legal approaches to domestic abuse are more systemic issues which the average person won't be able to actualize or see (unless they put in the time to research this and really think about how it integrates in our society) like they would with their need to hav…

They're only valuable in terms of navigating the interaction with someone you like but you don't know likes you like that. It's a balance of assuming the best/putting your best foot forward until you get an answer via her non-verbals or detecting her behavioural patterns. Anything beyond that is extra and performative.

You got the big picture down, but how would that translate to the practical. Aka real life? The answer I'll give is this. I'll only put in the effort needed to get her attention because if she hasn't seen me yet, then it's only fair that a woman I find attractive sees me in order to decide if she likes me or not. So in this instance, I don't mind making the first move to start a conversation with her if it's possible. But once I do start a conversation with her, at that point she sees me. So any…

I still continue to date, but I do so on my own terms, which can sometimes overlap with SOME feminist practices/beliefs and SOME conservative practices/beliefs. I do so based on how I feel, not based on the signs I'm being given. Both conservatives and feminists want you to pay attention to women's signs and go for those that show them green light signs, but this gives into how the other party wants you to behave given her signals. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The way they conceptualize the patriarchy was never a thing in history. It was only a small percentage of society (most of them were men) who held power and were rich. Feminist definition of the patriarchy was looking at the top percentage of men and applying their traits (likely sociopathic traits) to the common man which is nuts. Our history has never been a patriarchy in that sense, but feminism did give rise to reactionary movements like the red pill that ac…

The biggest thing is non-verbals, weather you apologize for the awkwardness or not. It can work, but it depends on your execution. If you got too many stutters going on when you say it, then it feels awkward. But if say "This might seem awkward, but I really like your dress" in a clear tone, it may be received well. With that being said, cold approach by nature is gonna be awkward for some people cuz you're talking to a stranger with no social context, so it's gonna be useless stating the obviou…

Oh that makes total sense now. It's one thing for straight couples to have their own issues, it's another to create a community out of that problem. And I'm sorry for anyone that had their trauma be weaponized against them. Why do you say the concept is weird? I'm a straight guy and a lot of this bs I've seen in straight couples interaction is basically why people are so polarized in modern dating. From my knowledge on LGBTQ relationships, there's some unique dynamics that go along gay and lesbian dating where some gay men move to sex fast (maybe without an emotional connection?) and some lesbians being a bit slow here too. Wait, so other celebrities that have worked with Diddy in the past (and not part of the freakoff) were criticized for not calling them out? Is that what you were trying to explain here? I think this is one of those instances where I gotta disagree. It is. Just treat it as a social circle. Definitely observe body language as most people are there to work out. Best times to socialize are usually before and after a workout regimen. If you're going to talk to her during a workout, make it relevant to the current exercise you're doing (but that's only if she's receptive to talking to you). You got some choices here. While you're at it, I suggest you talk to the staff and build familiarity there. It lets people know you're a regular there.

I think it's to be expected from the mainstream leftist circles in general, so it's not a surprise queer men would turn a blind eye to men's issues. Men in those environments are usually male feminists which gets them to see their own gender as a threat universally.

There's no true way to gauge this, you can only go based on the probabilities right. If it's before the approach, then you can see if she's checking you out, if she's positioning herself near you, if she's smiling down upon looking at you, or holds prolonged eye contact when you first lock eyes with each other. Could be. But I figured if she was really interested, she wouldn't let something small like that stop her. I didn't really message her within seconds of getting her number, I just let some time past and then followed up. Even then i kept my message brief. I learned that if I gotta focus too much on timing my responses or how I say certain things, then that particular woman is not that interested in me, which I honestly won't lose any sleep over it.

Social issues/gender roles as well as mental health/suicide are men's issues most important to me. Complex question but my answer for this one is it can't be changed. Whenever I hear phrases "you can create attraction or chemistry" it's not just sedditors who say this. I'm also from Toronto. Being that guy who needed advice on how to talk to girls, I heavily relate to your friend here and maybe I can offer some insight. You're a very experienced person who's had fun with girls at bars before, so you know what to anticipate, and have a clear idea of how to respond. Therefore this experience comes second nature to you. For myself, I don't claim to be an expert, but I have 0 problems going up to a girl I find attractive and having that conversation with her. I ha…

Question man. How often do you ask you girls you like on a date? Or at the very least, let them know you're interested in dating them?
/r/seduction20/10/24 07:43 PM

I feel like that too sometimes as well. You're not alone dude. Regardless of what society tells you, a large majority of people actually do have a baseline attraction for people, even those whom we don't normally consider our types. But if the attraction level is merely a baseline, what this means is people won't actually notice if they're into you or not, even if it's there. That's why Mark Manson calls this a Yellow Light in his book Models. Chances are there are a lot of women you meet who do…
/r/seduction20/10/24 06:50 PM

Mostly yes. Even in cases where attraction does grow, a baseline of attraction needs to be there. That means even if she's not head over heels for you, she still needs to feel attracted at some level, that way it grows over time the more she gets to know you. If it's not there to begin with, then no amount of getting to know you will change that.

I'd be careful of studies like this if I were you, especially when it comes to cold approaching. That 5% of couples that met via cold approach is prolly due to not a lot of ppl doing it, so the volume is naturally low. If more ppl were doing it, that number would be higher.

Most people you see are formed like this. There isn't a value matchup or the guy did something the other guys didn't do to land that "dimepiece". Most of the time, it's just being in the right environment at the right time. That's why they always say "I'm so LUCKY to have you". Others can't afford this, thus they gotta take a more active effort, either by joining a lot of social groups and forming social circles, or doing cold approaches. Either way, those strategies increase the probability of …

Unfortunately Alot of things have to go wrong in your life to ask strangers on the internet how to talk to girls so the people they gravitate towards subs and asking questions have no other choice but to cold approach usually. I wouldn't say this is the only reason. In my case, most of my friends were other nerds so it didn't allow me to meet the kind of girls I did want. However, I valued my friendships with them a lot to let that go. I did try to make some other friend but didn't like the stat…

In that case, those are nerves built up from your fears of approaching someone you like and a lack of experience. If you want a better way to ease into it, go to speed dating. The interactions you'll likely face in cold approaches are very similar to speed dating. I would focus on what you should say first when you meet someone, ask them engaging questions, be observant of their body language, etc. In most cold approaches, you only have a few minutes to make a great first-impression towards a wo…

Oh I see, you wanna help those guys out. That makes sense. Thinking back on my recent experience with clubs. One of the problems was that there's a high ratio of men to women, similar to online dating. I think building a community is not bad, but as a way to help single guys connect with women, it could turn into a competition unless you don't mind that.
/r/seduction17/10/24 02:31 PM

I say do what's comfortable with you man. If you don't like both and want to be involved in a community, then do just that and work your game there. Idk what your network is like. If it's a big one, then starting a running club could be good. But if your network is low, maybe joining existing clubs and growing your circle might be where it's at. Either way, it doesn't matter as long as you meet women and get dates in a way that you feel best accustomed to.

My biggest hold up is I always look for the perfect opportunity to approach and it never comes. My advice here is to let those opportunities show up to you. There are 2 ways this could go down. 1. A woman planting herself next to you or 2. You see one you find attractive, want to talk to, and you go up to her and talk to her. When I say let the opportunity come up to you, I mean let life show you the woman you find attractive (which means you don't worry about finding a girl to talk to), and thi…

A lot of them only know how to pull in girls and have sex with them, even if it crosses ethical or moral boundaries. PUAs generally don't care about their methods as long as it increases their chances of getting sex. Yup. Never deal with women like this. There's actual PUA coaches teaching this type of shit. The more we encourage each other to play games, the more toxic modern dating becomes. I think it's better for people to detect if someone is playing games on them, and rather then playing it back, say goodbye and find better quality interactions elsewhere. Interesting point. I have thought about some theories for this topic. Like maybe it could be due to living in dangerous conditions or being in gangs. I theorize those are where you're likely to see violent crimes. But stranger violence is a thing and innocent men do get caught up in it. If someone has a weapon or a gun, then you being tall or looking tough wouldn't matter as said person with these things are more likely willing to get into conflict. Ya I means even though the victim of stranger violence is likely to be men, I think there's a biological imperative for women to be cautious around men generally. I understand that, but it seems like those issues are being interpreted by feminist lenses which paints a specific picture of their issues that essentially leads to fear mongering of men. The street harassment study is an example. True. I heard of this happening. It might have to do with reproduction and shit. A lot of society judges a good looking woman as someone who's fertile and healthy to give birth to children (which they highly value women for). Loss in appearance is equivalent to being perceived as being less fertile, therefore unable to birth healthy children, therefore undesirable. But genetics don't often tell a whole story as you got women who are considered average that are healthy and fertile so this reasoni…

I've experienced this too. Therapy is not a catch all, but it's very necessary to fix deep seated issues. But even with therapy, u gotta be careful of which ones you choose. There's feminist therapy which is therapy that still adheres to critical gender theory, so I don't think it'll solve much as long as the man hate is still there.

I see where you're coming from with this but you can bet most feminist are misandrists. I got a question dude. How old are you? I ask this because if you lived in the 1990s for example, I would like to know your insight on if women were scared of men back then and what not. One theory I got is women may be scared of men even if they're not feminist due to their biological disposition compared to men. Like the average man has more physical advantage than the average woman, so I'm wondering if that fact makes women very cautious of men in case some of them get angry for rejecting the…

I think it's more arousal than it is comfort. People talk about comfort to mean very different things, but how can you call talking to someone you barely know and wanting his company around for a couple of hours comfort? I think I associate comfort with safety and considering the talks I hear about safety, you think they'd need more days to get comfortable with someone, that's why I think it's more arousal. But other than that, attraction first and connection second is usually how it goes.

Both examples actually make sense. Erin Pizzey did start with women's DV shelters before doing the same thing for men. I believe it was the latter part that gotten Pizzey threats from feminists. We definitely do live in an era of identity politics, and I do think the discourse around it is worse than what it was before. Thankfully not everyone buys into the whole identity politics, and it seems a lot of it is mostly on the internet. That doesn't really prove anything considering Wikipedia is easily editable. This has been a topic I have thought about a lot back then and I think I can put it in these words. Mainstream liberal feminists pressure us to not be masculine, but right-wing conservatives pressure us to be masculine as well. Ik this sub moderates a lot when it comes to relationship topics, but when I sought out dating advice, I was advised to be that masculine man, the same advice mainstream liberals are pressuring men not to be. I think I can see why these masculine norms exist tho from a very different perspective. Even though these can be cultivated through deliberate means, the masculine has a natural desire to take charge and be a leader either to themselves or to other people. But if you don't put up norms and what not, the masculine can end up crossing boundaries or being domineering, eventually veering over to toxic masculinity (from the viewpoint of the mythopoetic men's movement, not the feminist movement). But…

Cooperation itself is not necessarily a feminine core, it can be more of an expression of a personality trait that is considered feminine, and that's agreeableness (not the same thing as agreeing with everything, but it's the big 5's way of saying you value and maintain peace and harmony amongst people, not wanting to raise a conflict whereas the masculine does embrace conflict but it's not the same thing as seeking it out.). Even people with traits that are considered masculine can be cooperati…

Most of it is quite subtle. For starters, if you're a single male, a lot of people are gonna assume the worst of you but they won't say it out loud, it shows in their nonverbals. I've had to work with this situation a lot. The most important factor would have to be your inner state. 80% is inner state and 20% is skill. I say this because the biggest problem for guys out solo is to create their own fun and enjoyong themselves since they don't have company to share it with. The good news is since you're solo, you have absolute freedom on how you want to live your life. So doing exactly this will put you in a state of enjoyment. No doubt they would need to practice actually going up to someone in that context and making conversation with them, but I think in the very beginning this is not a good strategy. The reason I say this is because the margin of error is usually huge and often blurry since you don't know if it's a moral or skill failure or if the problem is with her. The conversation of the male protector role imo is a bit nuanced. I don't agree that men should be expected to be the protector of women. If there are non violent ways that can effectively help keep you and the woman safe, even if it means running away from the source and calling the police, then that should help. I think both man and woman should think of solutions where they can be protected without anyone getting hurt when they can. But why people have this expectation for men, I can understa…

I see. It's funny you mention being in touch with your emotions. Even some of my masculine friends are able to articulate their feelings, it's just that when they're not doing that, they go back to being that masculine person.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/08/24 01:18 AM

True. What would you say is most feminine about you? When I talk to some people about it, they talk about how they dress a certain way or present themselves a certain way, and I guess for me I present myself as masc but on a personality level, I like being the more cooperative one, it's natural for me to be the follower, I guess I'm more agreeable, enthusiastic about things I like, and tend to follow the flow a lot more. While emotional intelligence and individual chemistry are very important, I'd hardly call that rizz. That sounds like having a deeper level of understanding and awareness when it comes to your emotions and preferences, which leads to greater empathy towards people when they're experiencing emotions as well. I believe biology definitely has a part to play in this. Some men are naturally more in their feminine and some women are naturally in their masculine. They'd be a great match for each other, but I don't believe there are actually groups bringing them together. There would be the occasional "this is what you do in this situation" but a large part of this is making them feel comfortable. They don't talk about "rizz" there it's an underground conversation. Interesting, I didn't think of it from that perspective. I notice this too. Because of the talk about masculinity, it became a topic they can't ignore. They're bringing it back because they still want their man to be that rock. I think when conservatism ideology was on the rise, the people who represent conservative ideas are very kind to men, and use that kindness as a way to instill masculine behaviours in them, and the men get rewarded for that rather than "cry more" which doesn't reward them and instead make them feel vulnerable to attacks. On the other hand there's "never cold approach women, that's street harassment and creepy." Both schools of thought are things I do not agree with. The men do it more BS crumbles down when you look at dv studies which shows abuse goes 50/50 even severe abuse. When it comes to rape though, the studies, mostly nisvs sex assault study, does show most women being victims and men perpetrators so there is some truth to here specifically, even most male victims of rape had male perpetrators (unless I missed something) but everything else here is mostly bs.

She just wanted me to initiate so she had no responsibility for the sex act. What's even more fucked up is that one of the dating sources I started out with ENCOURAGES guys to set it up this way in order to be successful. Sure the burden of performance exist in every culture, but here's my thing though. At least in 3rd world countries or right wing ones, the expectations of men are consistent, even if men have to take the leading role. But in the west and esp in leftist circles, we get mixed messages to the point we kinda have to assume the opposite of what they say and look at their actions. It pretty much fucks with your mind, but we add new layers of standards (emotional labour in this case) to ramp up the pre…

I don't think that, but I don't know the exact exp. Theoretically the left is supposed to be more accepting, but I found in some aspects the left are hypocrites (I.e they say men aren't expected to approach women, but they'll never talk to him first unless he makes the first move in practice) so I just wanna be aware of the exact patterns (as an autistic person myself)

I agree with both of your points especially point number 2. That strategy is not foolproof if they still respond to dark triad men. They still somehow meet jerks and complain about them after. At some point, your strategy has to come into scrutiny.

Tbh I've read a lot of dating material that emphasized women use their emotions and primal urge more than logic. I understand the basis of this but I believe this would apply in a very specific context, and that's initial attraction. Men are like this too. We don't need a pretty woman as long as she's young and healthy enough to procreate, yet we feel a primary response to their appearance (unless you're asexual demisexual etc) so even us men will act from our primary urges. So in short both gen…

What you just described falls under the type of situations I'm not talking about as they aren't normal. This post was made assuming said guy is a regular sociable person. Also anytime someone struggles socially or romantically, we gotta stop automatically assuming it's a moral failure. This is a really obnoxious attitude from the left and the reason it's turning men away from it. Imagine trying to seek help and your morality all of a sudden comes into question. "Friendless Johnny over in the corner" I get the picture you're talking about. Basically if they're not having fun or enjoying their life. This sentences paints someone with self-esteem issues. Imo how women experience attraction the way you describe it is the same way men experience it as well (tho maybe we're more visual as women do look for other things than just looks but it doesnt change how the body responds to someone we find attractive), but the reason why men are usually DTF is that a lot them are coming from the mindset of "going for what they can get" rather than "what they want". I'll be blunt, a large chunk of said reason is physical attraction. I'm not saying I'd immediately go up to someone with only sex on my mind. I don't agree with the idea that approaching someone at the street or at work is not okay, you'd be surprised how many ppl are open in those situations. As long as ure being normal, having a conversation, and respecting her boundaries even when she doesn't wanna talk to you, let her go and u do ur thing. What the redpill usually talks about women like looks/money/status. If we're going by this logic, money is not an option for the boss babes since they can get the bag themselves. But they too are attracted to good looking men, they too can develop an emotional bond with men. They too have sexual desires in a tough guy who isn't necessarily making money. Maybe maybe not. Confidence is usually built not something everyone has. I don't mind if they're confident, but can they also be vulnerable is the real question. And vulnerability is not an easy thing to express, that's something u wanna reserve for someone you really trust. This also applies to confident ppl as well.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates25/11/23 01:47 PM

Its also one of the reasons PUA/redpill exists. I think guys can get away with being awkward if they're really attractive (much like awkward attractive girls. The unattractive awkward girls I find usually gets ignored or buttered up so the guy can get with her more hotter friends.)

Maybe not my friend. I have a lot of experience approaching women I like but I don't try to be confident. What i do is basically the classic "Hey I really like your style" or "I find you attractive". It's definitely not suave nor is it smooth, but that's the point. The women who respond to smooth and suave are likely the same women who'd expect you to be the man. No feminism does help men. It's apart of intersectional feminism. If you look at the arbitrary oppression hierarchy, trans men are below men of colour, men of colour are below the average white man, and the average white man is below the rich middle class white man. Because of our arbitrary hierarchy that we completely came up with, the patriarchy (another concept we completely came up with to distort history) hurts men too and that's why feminism wants to help men. But like that timeline discussed, most of the rights we have as women today are periodically fought for in the past. Questionable. Don't equate terms like toxic masculinity to feminism. They merely borrowed it and used it to advance their own political agenda. The term toxic masculinity was supposed to be a term used in a self-improvement context, it's just that feminists applied this term to any male behaviour they deem bad or any male frustration expressed. Many of the things some feminist will tell you is that "we live in a patriarchy" "patriarchy oppresses women, and hurts men by making them believe they have to oppress women to benefit from it." What's their foundation for this argument? The fact that most positions of power throughout history were held primarily by men. People who are spouting that advice are coming from a neurotypical framework, and there's a fundamental problem since our brains are designed a bit differently to JBC. It works for them cuz their brains have sensors to easily pickup on subtle and social cues. So whenever they say this advice, they're coming from a neurotypical perspective than a neurodivergent one. I also experienced the toxic positivity and gen…

Yea I had a similar experience to this. Today, I have a couple of genuine friends but coming across them have been pretty rare. I thought my hs pals were genuine friends but they were pretty toxic (but I didn't understand the subtext of what they would do to pick that up until much much later.) But outside of that, I'd also get the feeling that they'd have no problem talking to me but never really invited me to anything. This didn't bother me that much as I still had a good time with my friends,…

I relate to almost all of your posts here. Attention to basic things, overthinking, and talking impulsively have been problems I did have to deal with. Autism is related to anxiety, not sure about feelings of guilt. But I too have been haunted by my own slip ups too so looks like that's a common thing among autists. With regards to dating though, dating is basically social skills 10x, so this neurodivergence detector is due to that. Unfortunately, us autists have to struggle with social skills s…

Little sympathy is afforded for the fact that autistic people can be very literally-minded and systematic thinking, which doesn't lend itself to wokeism, wherein manipulation, distinctions without differences and creative construction of worldviews (that are likely to wildly differ from that person's experiences) are central. And even then we gotta be careful of this. I've encountered people on the r/autism subreddit expressing beliefs that align with those problematic ideologies. So even they c…

The feminist who help men shouldn't call themselves a feminist, not when the ideology setup by the 2nd wave (a thought process currently dominating feminist spaces) are inherently anti male. Even then that 8% comes from strictly reported cases. They need to conclude that this is false in order to prove it as FA. But false accusations aren't classified as crime so crime stats won't account for this like they do with rape.

The extremely rare part comes from the 2% of rape cases reported to be false and they're using that to say it's extremely rare. Here's what they miss tho. That statistic comes from strictly cases that have been reported, many of them are not reported. And only a few cases of rape get reported to the police, where 90% of those few cases do end up in conviction. Even when conducting surveys and accounting for unreported incidents, rape was recognized as a crime but FA is not, so they wont even bot…

Okay if we're talking about the frequency of the situation with dating different men, that's a completely different thing so I get where you're coming from there. That "sense he has a bad personality" is most likely just a trauma response from the previous abusive ex. Nobody can see through other people. I've heard both men and women say this so many times. I have to agree here. Once people latch onto an ideology, everyone else is wrong in their eyes. They keep blaming things on the 'patriarchy' due to the very theory they themselves came up with. You can never expect to achieve equality with that kind of ideology.

Feminist ideology is heavily misandrist to begin with, not to mention if you look at their history they actually omitted a lot of things out from their supposed history. They left out the fact that most anti-suffrage movements were primarily led by women, claim they free men from their gender roles but actually enforced it on them from the start, even their claim to our society being a patriarchy is fragile when you actually take a look at western history, American colonization, the bibles histo…

What I was trying to point out is context. If you walk up to a woman and talk to her, she doesn't know who you are but you also don't know who she is (nor where she lives and her contact info). So as long as those information is kept hidden and she keeps her interaction with you public, there's less chance of her getting murdered here and that's most likely a situation where you would get rejected. But if she agrees to go on a date with you, at that point some form of contact info is shared, whi…

I agree that being laughed at is far more common than being murdered but the possibility of being murdered is something to be more fearful of than rejection (speaking from personal experience.) I get rejected tons and it's not that bad, you move on and find someone else who likes you. Their claim to the patriarchy and male domination has always been based on decades of history which you can't even confirm exists. Even history departments know that they need to look at "eligible criteria" (by this they mean has the author lived through this history? It's not even that. I think the approaching thing as not being feminine is a bunch of balony. I don't think that feelings of women are of our (men's rights advocates) concern. I agree with a lot of what you're saying except for this bit. Yes, how anyone feels is not something that we can have 100% control over, but this rhetoric is no better than the feminists who insist that the feelings of men don't matter when we talk about men's issues.

100% this. And the OP is wrong that most men aren't pressured to perform their gender roles. They are, especially when it comes to the context of dating. It's women who aren't confined to their gender roles. But given the rise of redpill, give it a few more years and we'll eventually get there for women too which isn't gonna be good for everybody.

The reason is probably that, because the left is heavily gynocentric, it enables female mating strategies which mostly boil down to a process of elimination based almost entirely on a woman's feelings. To many women, "active agency in dating" means men hitting on them, which is something they perhaps understandably are fed up with. This is what happens when you don't actively fight against making men conform to their gender stereotypes. They put all that effort to fighting for women to be away from gender stereotypes. How about men? "You don't have to make the first move, women are allowed to make the first move as wel…

I didn't think about this whole thing as a female dating strategy. Now it actually makes sense and it actually harks back to the female stereotype of them being courted and not them doing the active courting. And they want to feel special when anyone in real life in rarely special including the women themselves. Ironically, the feminist messaging are most likely to affect scrupulous men, and to not affect uncaring men And look at the cycle they created. They basically ensured that the uncaring…

There's no rulebook on how to navigate the human experience, and I think we need to allow people the social grace to awkwardly make mistakes, as they try to learn how best to navigate building relationships with other people, romantic or otherwise. This is something I've personally experienced and to this day there aren't any resources in the mainstream to teach men how to do this. You'll find a post I made about the perception of men who read dating advice if you go through my profile all the w…

I'm actually interested in knowing this myself. But I will point this out for the sake of the discussion. I remember looking at equality index documents that rank countries on how egalitarian they are. However, The Global Gender Gap report 2022 for example (said to rank country by how egalitarian they are) are viewing equality in terms of women's representation. To them, high representation and access to things for women there are, the more gender equal a country is. This could be inaccurate as …

One of the problems of being a wo(men)'s only advocacy group is the tendency to attack other movements (i.e feminism doesn't understand this, mra doesn't understand this.) I think having advocacy group being centered around a specific demographic would be very effective so as long as they acknowledge that there are specific issues another group they may not be representing are going through, and taking that into consideration while dealing with their group's issues and not just putting said grou…

This is actually a good point. Feminism refused to change its name to egalitarianism because it doesn't see an issue with it being a derivative name of feminine (mostly associated with women). So by that same logic, progressive male advocacy should be more inclusive with their movement naming or else it wouldn't feel inclusive. I will say this though especially in today's climate, a lot of men's issues need to be brought to the attention of the large majority and away from associating with redpi…

"It's not men we hate, it's the patriarchy" same shit as it's not women we hate it's female hypergamy. It's all the same shit.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/05/23 05:48 PM

Funny how that works. I written a post detailing our history and once you remove patriarchy theory out of your vocabulary, you find that most oppression was based on class than it is gender. That's why anyone who subscribes to patriarchy theory and the 2013 definition of toxic masculinity is gonna subconsciously blame men for the problems of the world and aren't people I can take seriously.

And patriarchy exist, just not the one you believe. I would like to see the names of those countries that live up to the OG definition of patriarchy. The only society that seemed to fit the feminist patriarchy theory society is the taliban.

Most of our history hasn't been a patriarchy at all. Many of the obvious sexist rules were created by both men and women in power but patriarchy theory completely left that out. The ideology is not only rooted in misandry, but heavily downplayed the role women had in history before feminism as a movement even formed. Patriarchy theory is one of the rooted concepts of feminism, which means "male domination and oppression of women" or "societal structure built by men for the advantage of men" and …

"They say men don't need to be in their masculine" I hate this in every fucking way and I got a couple of examples. They say we don't need to be masculine in order to find love and intimacy. But who do they go for by their actions? The confident masculine man. They also say they feel safe and protected when they're with their men, which goes back to the masculine stereotype of being the protector. I kid you not I hear them say this all the time "he doesn't make me feel safe." A lot of men's dati…

The only times men have ever told me to stop showing emotions were men who were deep into redpill manosphere content, but ik why men turn to those in the first place. To appeal to women. I have seen women by their actions go for men who aren't emotional and instead act from their masculine or when they don't show emotion. This is very contradictory to what feminism says. That it's beneficial for everyone, that they talk about and help solve men's issues. Without fail the amount of ppl I see tell men to start their own movement, the fact that they'd delegate men's issues to a potential men's group means that feminism actually does not want to help solve men's issues, or they dismiss those issues as a part of the patriarchy (cuz patriarchy hurts men too even tho the idea of that contradicts the definition of patria…

That wouldn't be much of an issue cuz everyone would be approaching hot people. Tbh it's just how it is. With the current way we're setting things up, I know plenty of guys that approach women they don't find attractive at all (tho the motivation here is they use them for sex). But guys go this route cuz not only are they expected to initiate in order to have a chance, but they are expected to be good at sex, good at setting up dates, basically taking the lead a lot of times. I'm not bothered by them not liking me (I'm assuming you mean they not being interested in me romantically by saying that.) What I don't like is the defensive behaviour that follows up with that. I understand if they act this way if I meet her outside of a social context and I basically cold approach her, but I even met this type of behaviour even in social circles and even after some time it feels very distant like. I'm pretty good when it comes to the pickup stuff. I have no problem walking up to girls and expressing interest. I framed it as an individual thing, but for this particular one I wanted to talk about things that are expected of me as a man that I don't see women putting up with and I have no individual framing for that as society still expects a lot out of men in the dating scene. > No. The core problem is patriarchy, which causes gender inequality. You need to distinguish between men and patriarchy. The "patriarchy" you're referring to is a monarchy. Both men and women were rich and/or in positions of power (not just a few) and created as well as supported these gender roles and gender inequality. Feminism was a movement founded in 1878 and there were a lot of women rulers before then. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_women\_rulers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li…

I'll throw my 2 cents. It's definitely hard to find that courage and I've actually had a point in my life where I was trying to find that. Back in college, I was struggling with dating and none of the people around me would give me practical advice that I could put to good use. So I stumbled upon material that talks about masculinity (what masculinity is, how to live a life in a masculine way, and how you can adopt it into your life.) However, there aren't really clear cut answers for that. A lo…

Gonna play devil's advocate here. Redpillers will invalidate this study saying "this is what women say they want, their actions show they want the complete opposite." And for the men, they'll just answer "the men have been socialized by mainstream society to show more emotions, not knowing that their girl isn't attracted to that and is fucking some chad until she finds a better man to monkey branch to." I have seen the EliteSingles study and I will be honest though, surveys that just collect res…

Yes exactly. I see. By skills, do you think it ties back to regular social skills like making conversation and reading body language? Gym is more of a social circle environment. You see the same people every day. Are you saying you would approach someone at the gym the same way you would approach them at the mall? You say success rate depends on the person doing it and not the place. I get that. How high is your own success rate with cold approaches? My suggestion is Nick Notas. He's a dating coach specifically for men (he has some articles for women as well) and I believe he's a healthier option. You'll see tips on how to approach women, build a conversation with them, escalate to sex etc, but he also teaches you how to do it ethically and actually answers how you should be yourself while implementing the other tips and whatnot.

This is common advice that's been met with indifference 100% of the time for me. Probably because it comes off as too nice, too cautious and phony - I'm not saying what I really want to be saying in that moment. Nah I dont think compliments like that are too nice at all. Almost 90% of the time a man will get rejected whether he tries talking to her or approaching her, that's in part the reason why we play a numbers game. I agree what OP is saying here. Yeah lower your standards if you wanna get the experience and know what works and what doesn't, but I think personally, at some point you don't need the experience anymore and have no time to be approaching women by lowering your standards. At that point, I'd wanna use that honed game to approach women I do find attractive. I've already done enough overthinking as it is and am trying to keep my process simple. My process is this, if I see a woman I like, I'll go talk to her.
