I just left this comment. Mrs. Myers Karvunidis- I am a man who was repeatedly molested by a woman when I was a boy. I am not going to get into details, but it was pretty severe abuse. And thanks to disgusting bigots like you, I was repeatedly denied help or treatment. My school counselor told me "women don't do that to children." My own mother told me I was lying. Because of this, I concluded that my pain and suffering didn't matter and I internalized it. I have experienced anxiety and depressi…

Yes. I have no problem with people complaining about actual, bonafide workplace harassment. I can't stand when people bring sexuality into the workplace.

A relative of mine nearly worked himself to an early grave while in the management training program at Walmart. But never mind that, let's help the women.

I can't speak to your first example, because I'm unfamiliar with bar etiquette. But overall, men and women need to have reciprocal relationships. Both partners need to get as good as they give. Without this, resentment and entitlement can build up. Sex is a two-person act, where both partners are giving and getting. If a woman only grudgingly gives up sex after being "paid" in some way then they are behaving like a hooker. There's nothing wrong with hookers, as long as they're honest about it, b…

Document any interaction you have with her. Dates, times, brief description. Take this opportunity to improve your behavior, because if/when you get reprimanded you need to show that you've sincerely turned over a new leaf. Lastly, don't bring that stuff to work unless dirty jokes are more important than money and your professional reputation. PS I am not a lawyer.

I agree with you that the Victorian tradition of putting women on a purity pedestal is not necessarily all the fault of Feminism. But Feminism absolutely triumphs women as blameless. See the following: "Sexism is NOT the fault of women--kill your fathers, not your mothers". -- Robin Morgan(Editor of Ms Magazine) "All sex, even consensual sex between a married couple, is an act of violence perpetrated against a woman." -- Catherine MacKinnon (Highly influential feminist scholar and law professor …

According to Wikipedia, challenges against Ladies Nights have been derailed by federal law and three states, and upheld by four states. It doesn't look like the State of Georgia has had a case like this yet. They were ejected because they refused to abide by the restaurant's policy. If two men stormed into a "Ladies Night" and demanded free drinks repeatedly, they'd get kicked out too.

There were no other men at the bar, yet the article also stated that other men had willingly given up their seats that night. At least by looking at the article, we don't know if white men were/are given privilege over black men at the bar. If it comes out that white men are indeed given preference when it comes to this policy, then by all means this bar is being discriminatory.

My main problem with Slutwalks was the attitude of "Rape will stop when men stop raping." And I looked through the entire Slutwalk website a few months ago, and found not one single mention of advice for rape prevention. If women wanted to have Slutwalks and took the opportunity to also make it about being aware of how to minimize risk, that would actually be a valid public service. Holding Slutwalks and saying that "Rape will stop when men stop raping" is deliberately sending harmful messages t…

Don't you put that shit on me. I clearly stated two replies above that if there was evidence that black men were asked to leave their seats, and white men weren't, that would be discrimination.
/r/MensRights14/09/11 07:53 PM

Courts have consistently upheld that "Ladies Nights" are not discriminatory and I would think this would fall under the same principle.

I think the policy is bullshit, but it is their policy and if people don't want to abide by it they should patronize another restaurant. I wouldn't step within 20 feet of a restaurant that had a policy like this. It's not like this is the only upscale bar in Buckhead. The only way I see the plaintiff's case working is if they showed that white male patrons were given preference over black males at the bar.

I'm not surprised. The brainwashing is working. Feminists want women to be raped. They emphatically do NOT want women hearing advice which reduces risk.
/r/MensRights14/09/11 09:51 AM
7

It is NEVER the fault of the victim for being raped. Advice for risk avoidance is not victim-blaming. Still, Feminism brainwashes women into turning off their mind, and rejecting advice on risk-avoidance. Because Feminists would rather use rape as a political tool to destroy and control men, than actually help reduce incidences of rape. They don't want women to hear common-sense advice of how to reduce their risk, because then less women would get raped, and they would have less ability to paint…

I didn't say all these women were feminists, but my mother definitely is. Considering I have heard feminists and feminist groups specifically uttering excuses for women who violate and murder children, I really am not sure why you're going here. In the end, you're basically saying Feminism is a lying ideology and it's part of the patriarchy. I agree with the first p…

You do realize feminist groups have a decades-long history of ignoring female-on-male sexual abuse. You also realize I can point to examples of women's groups lobbying to keep social organizations from helping men and boys.

Ultimately, it comes down to this: Imagine a well-known male university professor, who is an expert on men's rights issues, came out with a book celebrating young teenage females. What do you think feminists would say about him? What do you think they would say about men's rights in general? But it's of course hunky-dory for Germaine Greer to do it, because she has the sacred vajay. I think we're on the same page here, I'm just stating a rhetorical question.

Except the vast majority of them weren't chained to a stove. In the 1950's, or ever. Women were going to Ivy League schools and becoming doctors in the 19th century. Prenups were originally invented to keep cads from tricking women into giving up their wealth. Why would that be needed if women were oppressed?

I don't believe this is an accurate comparison. Slavery hurt men, women, and children. Misandry only hurts men. Now compare how much worse society treats black men than they do black people in general. Misandry and discrimination against men will never be regretted like slavery, because men are the lowest head on the empathy totem pole. We are doomed if we wait around for people to "feel bad" about misandry. I don't believe that most people are even capable of it.

I. Didn't. Say. She. Did. I didn't say that ANYONE having rape fantasies wants to be raped. I said that the more i understand about some females having rape fantasies, it leads me to wonder if, in their potential cognitive dissonance, they project that rape fantasy onto men. A la, "All Men Are Rapists." Again, if you're reading that "I want women to get raped" in what I said, you're trying really, really hard to find something to get outraged about.

I didn't claim "all women" now did I? If it's so unfathomable, then please explain why so much erotica directed at women features women getting dominated by rapacious men. Somebody has to be buying all that stuff, and it's not men. Men are mostly turned on visually. It's science!

It was completely consensual, why would it bother me? I've had several girlfriends who liked it rough. I consider it a compliment that they all trusted me enough to share, and they all felt I was up to satisfying them in that way. Different strokes for different folks. Actually, when I was younger I dated several feminists, and they were constantly begging me to help them re-enact their rape fantasies. /r/MensRights12/09/11 12:00 AM

Actually I have read a few because most of my girlfriends owned them, and they wanted to re-enact the scenes. This is such an asinine conversation. Women write female erotica that features rape fantasies. Women buy that female erotica. Women get off on that female erotica. But I'm the fucking bad guy for pointing it out. Maybe you don't get off on rape fantasies, and that's fine. But you're just being an idiot for claiming that this conversation has anything to do with me justifying rape.
/r/MensRights11/09/11 11:47 PM

So fucking predictable. Women are the ones writing and buying books about rape fantasy. Men generally don't buy much erotic novels. I suppose it's men's fault that women like to read about getting dominated.
/r/MensRights11/09/11 11:11 PM

Not her specifically, but I know how much female erotica is either rape or rape-like. It's all about women resisting but then finally being dominated by his "untamed passions." The more you swallow that particular red pill, the more you realize feminism is partially brought about by women who demonize sexuality.

You think marriage is great because you have an entire society and legal construct to ensure it will work out to your benefit. Men have an entire society and legal construct designed to screw them over. The risk of this also cancels out any token tax benefits. I think you're putting way too much faith in a fair and just University hearing. Consensual sex will likely not present any evidence, one way or another, to corroborate an accuser's claim. That's easy for you to say, when your gender gives you the full force of the family courts and law enforcement to make sure things work out to your benefit in marriage. That's why marriage sounds so good for you, and you think it's enough to "not be an idiot." Talk to a man who gets thrown in jail because he restrains his wife who is waving a knife in his face. Women live seven years longer than men, and seniors are the most likely group of any population to vote. So women get one or two more elections, at least, to vote in than men do. Also, men make up the majority of homeless people and the prison population, who are presented with many challenges to vote. So despite that women only make up a small majority, it's made a much bigger majority due to demographics. Women are much more naturally suited to cooperate. Men are suited to compete. Note that "…

You explicitly said that in the past, "men were entitled to everything" - and you claimed the anti-male bias we see today was a reaction to that. I am offering a very real example of the extreme non-entitled status of most males, which would call into question your claim that the anti-male system we have today was a reaction to real problems. Fair enough that you didn't cite patriarchy, but you also have to acknowledge that much of the real anti-male bias has come about, not due to a "reaction,"…

"I have never read ANY scholarly works that are about man hating" I think you're going to need to define what "scholarly works" means, because lots of feminist intellectuals were/are openly vicious against men. Men especially love murder. In art they celebrate it, and in life they commit it. They embrace murder as if lif…

The way I look at it is that it's the result of societal conditioning turning biological tendencies into monsters. Female supremacy is not a universal human characteristic across all cultures. That's seriously a dumb statement. Prostitution is legal in parts of Europe, and most of them are from third-world countries. When people start to impose "human rights" on societies not their own "for their own good" it ends up causing tons of unintended consequences. And more often than not, becomes a "we're gonna blow up your fucking country to FREE you, whether you like i…

I have a whole bunch of people from there following me. Matlack even had some positive stuff to say about a couple of my blogs on men's issues, and retweeted them to his followers. It is a pretty common thing for women to shame men into fighting battles for them. A mother in Libya was quoted in a recent article I saw, saying essentially the same thing to her sons.

Yeah, that's quite an ah-ha, isn't it? I am in my thirties and I didn't even get that until about a year ago. To many women, only attractive men qualify as men. The rest of us are something less than that.

He'll lose his children, he'll lose his finances, and he'll have an entire society telling him he's abandoned his wife and kids. If he tries to get couples therapy the therapist will tell him it is all his fault. He has no DV shelter to count on, and if he calls the police, it is likely he will be the one arrested. The solution is for men to never marry.

If you think men have always had it better than women, a pile of about 250 million dead soldiers would say otherwise. And on top of that, how about let's talk about the White Feather campaign, where privileged British women shamed men into enlisting in WW1. Or the thousands of letters from women to their sons and husbands in the civil war, telling them to come home a winner or come home dead. Your jibberjabber simply rationalizes your hatred and bigotry against men.

Well, you are right about Solanas being a crazy loon. But this loon is still being studied by feminists to this day. I was calling bull on your claim of her "not taken seriously." Clearly if SCUM is still studied in university women's studies, and feminists claim her as an influence, then she is taken seriously by some feminists. Maybe you don't, and that's good, but it is very revealing of the mentality of some feminists they still study this whackjob.

Bull. They still teach it in many women's studies courses around the country and I've seen a lot of feminists list it on their blogs and websites as a major influence.

Yes, legalized prostitution would be devastating to the "pussy cartel" arm of Feminism. Women would actually have to demonstrate value to a man other than having a pussy. Every man should acquire a prostitute at least once, so he can learn that tits & vaj are not worth putting on a pedestal.

I would have taken them past a brothel or a red-light district and said "this is where men can acquire quality, reasonably-priced sex legally. So your vagina does not make you special here Missy." Do you think they would have deemed that harassment?" ;)

Yes, we have to keep in mind that women are highly sensitive about their perceived social standing. Already, women feel that they are of a high social standing simply for having a vagina. And when the ratios are skewed, such as the armed forces, they feel they are even more high and mighty. Attention from males she perceives as unattractive is interpreted as a lowering of her social status. Therefore, attention from hot males = flattering and attention from average males = creepy.

Women want sexual attention from men who are attractive. The "perverts" are the men who have the temerity to not be subjectively attractive. Remember, if you want to avoid being perceived as a creep : 1. Be handsome. 2. Be attractive. 3. Don't be unattractive. Edit: Should add, you are probably a fine-looking gentleman. On "enthusiastically" : OP should not write this when she obviously has no idea what it is like to be a man in a heterosexual encounter. Most women will never initiate sex, especially the first time. And most women still like to act coy and demure in the bedroom, either because they think it's feminine or because they're shy. Only about 10% of the women I've ever had sex with have said anything like "Oh yeah, do me baby!" Now this may be because I've lived in the Midwest most of my life, and wom…

It is a difference in culture. Most American women feel they are deserving of a husband who is more successful and more wealthy than her, and grow resentful of a man she has to provide for on a long-term basis. See this article: http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/features/n_9495/ That's not to say a man can't take a modest amount of parental leave. I think most women would welcome that. But only for a short time. Then it's back to work for hubby, or he's a loser.
/r/MensRights20/08/11 09:23 PM

Yes, it is viable for men, though not one that many would choose. He will also likely be single or gay. You have to keep in mind that very, very few women will tolerate a "stay at home husband." For all the talk of enlightened and empowered women shifting gender roles, women still want the man to be the provider.

Feminism, especially second-wave feminism, has been about pushing women away from family life. "No woman should be authorized to stay at home and raise her children. Society should be totally different. Women should not have that choice, precisely because if there is such a choice, too many women will make that one." -Simone De …

/r/MensRights20/08/11 01:32 AM

Because compulsory would probably require a law, and i think the government is already invading our lives enough. If the woman doesn't want the test, than the man knows to get that baby tested privately within a month or two.
/r/MensRights20/08/11 01:11 AM
2

I disagree, because growth of government is what has enabled women to hold onto jobs. In a free market capitalist system, women would have to compete with men on a level playing field and they're not going to outperform men at most jobs.
/r/MensRights20/08/11 01:07 AM
2

Yes, feminism wants you to have the kid and get back to your career ASAP - let the government raise your child. You can see him/her on the weekends.
/r/MensRights20/08/11 01:05 AM
5

You also have to keep in mind that progressivism, in general, supports the growth of government and/or government programs to bring about desired change. This has been true since the days of Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. Feminism would be absolutely nowhere without the growth of government and government programs. It's the primary source of their money and their power.
/r/MensRights19/08/11 10:37 PM

I support equal opportunity and equal treatment under the law for men and women. Feminism supports female supremacy, special privileges, and woman-favoring laws. If the latter is deemed progressive, then hell no I am not progressive.
/r/MensRights19/08/11 10:34 PM

Yes, that is part of it. The other issues are: male perceived disposability and the myth that men have it so much better than women. But absolutely, feminism infantilizes women. Yes, and we regularly see articles from women dismissing the notion men should have this option. Recently there was Amanda Marcotte's argument that since men can't get pregnant, they dont deserve it. Once sperm leaves his body, a man has no reproductive choice whatsoever. And the majority of women obviously see nothing wrong with this. Women can deliberately defraud us, sue for child support, and win. Women can literally rape us, sue us for child support, and win. Whatever its ultimate meaning, the break-up of families now is an objectively revolutionary process." -- Linda Gordon "I want to see a man beaten to a bloody pulp with a high-heel shoved in his mouth, like an apple in the mouth of a pig." -- Andrea Dworkin "Feminism is the theory, lesbianism is the practice." -- Ti-Grace Atkinson "All sex, even consensual sex between a married couple, is an act of vio…

I disagree completely. If men and women were allowed to compete on a level playing field, men would triumph 90% of the time. Then if women wanted to get access to our resources and protection, they'd have to give up on feminism.

Yes, because the Left has done such a fantastic job of preventing homelessness and ending wars. Also, environmentalists were huge supporters of fracking all the way up until Bush and Cheney got involved. Ideological opposition not based on facts doesn't help the environment.

Oh, give me a break. Feminists don't even know what Feminism is. If we put 200 feminists in a focus group, and asked each one individually, we'd get 200 wildly different answers. Feminism is an emotional shapeshifter which morphs at the drop of a hat, depending on the mood of the feminist in question and whatever is convenient in the moment.

Feminists are the biggest misogynists. Feminism infantilizes women and treats them like they have brains of custard. It teaches them that they are the eternal victim, utterly helpless without the power of the state. It also prevents women from growing as adults, by demanding the removal of all sense of personal responsibility.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I hold no hope a family court will use this program to save a dude from child support. "Your honor, I took the pill, but it must not have worked! We should be careful to not conflate happiness, meaning, and fulfillment. Humans can attain incredible depths of self-delusion, addiction, and insanity and still be happy. Woman addresses criticisms that feminism is resulting in less happiness reported by women by saying "Yeah, so what?" Libertarians and Ron Paul Republicans were dead-set against Iraq and only wanted a short, surgical conflict in Afghanistan, and those groups are far to the Right. Meanwhile, Democrats were all about Iraq and Afghanistan, and Obama doubled-down on Afghanistan when he took office. "the banks still afloat due to the bailouts can no longer be said to have "earnt' their wealth." I was against the bailouts (unlike President Obama) but the b…

I left this reply over at the blog she linked- Matt Harris- Ignorance is not shameful as long as someone keeps their mouth shut about the subject until they bother to learn about it. You, obviously, have not even spent 20 seconds educating yourself on the men's movement. You should be embarrassed at your complete lack of knowledge about something you have no problems throwing under the bus, but i suspect you are too stupid to even feel embarrassed for yourself. Tom Matlack is an admitted recovering sex addict who has written lots of shaming articles directed at men regarding sex and porn. I don't scorn him for his troubles, and I give him credit for being in recovery. But I don't think he should project his problems onto the vast majority of men who have a healthy interest in sex. At least Tom is repentant and humble, unlike Hugo who is a really foul individual.

Article only proposes helping men so they can serve as a utility for women. Little thought is given to the self-worth of the men. Implies that helping men is only worthwhile to get lazy women off the dole. No thought given to the reality that these women would make dreadful and ungrateful wives.

Condoms fail & women lie about being on the pill. There is NO agreement a man and a woman can have beforehand which protects him from having to pay child support. A woman can literally rape a man, get pregnant, be convicted of rape, go to prison, have the baby, and get child support from the man. And yes, you sound exactly like anti-sex and anti-birth control fundamentalists. But I guess it's ok, because men don't have any rights?

Did you see the word I used? "Lobby." Lobby means run political advocacy campaigns, send out spokespersons into the press, use sympathetic members of Congress to speak on it. Feminists lobbied recently because a dumb "got milk" campaign implied that PMS made women difficult to deal with. Surely, they can spare some grrl power to pass the ERA if it was a priority.

Masochism. Appearing safe and conventional to mainstream society. Possibility (not certainty) of raising children in a healthy two parent environment. Co-dependency. Appeasing one's deity of choice. Tax benefits, IMO, are not enough of a benefit to justify the financial risks a man faces. You're better off moving to a state with a low tax burden if that is important to you. Health insurance not a justification either since Obamacare coming in a couple of years. (Not that I am a fan of O-care.)

Not to be a fly in your soup, but prenups are not ironclad. They can be shred at any time, at the discretion of a family court judge. Also, remember vindictive wives can say "he abused me/my children" which also makes the prenup worthless. I'm not saying your S.O. will do that. Just saying the possibility exists. Hurr hurr hurr. If this woman was too picky in her youth, it's no sign she's an evil person. I'm posting it because the advice columnist is basically increasing her self-delusion that she must be too "special" to have found someone.

Hypergamy is not only leaving one man for another, it's the urge to rise up in social class through relationships and marriage. We are dealing with a society full of women with delusions of self-grandeur, who think they're too "special" for anyone but the very top men. I think that has a lot to do with the state of affairs men face, because if women have such a low opinion of our worth, they're certainly not going to care if we have rights or not.

Really? Dude, read the fucking article. This is related to many, many issues that affect men's rights including female hypergamy and enabling manginas. Also highlights a developing social problem caused by feminism, which is women waiting too long to marry Mr. Big and lose out on their chance for a marriage. And women who think no man is good enough for them is an example of misandry.

This is a pretty standard story of a woman who never got married because no man was worthy of her golden vagina. Now she's past her sell-by date, and regretful. She is close to making an important realization about her choices. You can see the rationalization hamster dying, and some logic start to enter her consciousness. But the advice columnist (Cary Tennis) nurses her rationalization hamster back to life. When I read Cary's response to her, I imagined him giving CPR to her rationalization ham…

HR departments do not hire but they can privilege certain candidates over others. That might have a factor but by far the greatest female privileges in hiring come from government jobs and companies that rely on government contracts. Now that private sector hiring is coming back (a little bit) and the public sector is cutting, we're seeing the "mancession" dissipate somewhat. And that's based on an article I saw in a newspaper which is relatively male-friendly.

From the blog -"As for “men going their own way”: it’s almost a malapropism it’s so utterly inconceivable. It is, not to put too fine a point on it, a big load of sour grapes in the nominal MRA movement. I hear you. But a truly reasonable, responsible person would have spoken up immediately with the strongest words possible. See, now i just learned something new. I know they add ambergris to super-expensive perfumes so i assumed it smelled good. Yes that is a common feminist attitude. Especially a lot of the first and second wave feminists were/are dead-set against women getting married and becoming stay-at-home mothers. They wanted women to birth babies and then give them over to the government to raise.

Just yesterday, I got in an argument with a feminist on another website. I sent her several essays and articles from women articulating my point of view. Slut vs. Stud is not male privilege, it is a form of protection against cuckolding. Up until recently, there was no such thing as paternity tests. And men, when they married a woman, needed to have as much assurance as possible that the baby she pushes out is his. A promiscuous woman is less trustworthy in this regard than a chaste one. Therefore, if a woman was to be good marriage material for an upstanding man, she should be chaste. It is not accurate to say that promiscuous men were/are known…

Hey, don't tell that to prominent Third-Wave Feminist Amanda Marcotte. According to her, women never commit domestic violence against men. I agree with everything you said, word for word, and have made many of the same arguments in the past. Men are not allowed agency over their own sexuality, because women need the control to extract resources. But there are more than a few feminists who have different attitudes on this. I'm not trying to hand out a pussy pass, just saying there may be some hope we may eventually get some rationality from them. On this issue at least. Also, keep in mind Social Conservatives and other holy rollers …

If she wants interracial dating to be more accepted, she should be preaching at women, not men. A recent Time Magazine study showed men were more open to interracial relationships than women. And anecdotally, I've experienced this firsthand when i was in a LTR with a black girl. Guys didn't care, women were catty and passive-aggressive about it.

Prohibition of vice always causes more problems than sane regulation of it. One can point to corollaries in alcohol, drugs, pornography, and many other things. Prostitution is already extremely common in the US. We have hookers that service Wall Street guys for thousands of dollars an hour, junkies who will do anything for $50, and everything in between. Why not minimize the risk to the worker and the customer? Part of the monies collected can go to set up medical clinics for the sex workers. Se…

I think it's fine, but the meaning of "white knight" is not necessarily well-known. Probably the joke that goes along with it has to convey the meaning clearly. Examples: "Sarah's still dating that asshole. I'll "like" all her Facebook posts so she'll see that I'm the man for her." "I'm a Feminist because a girl made out with me once at Lilith Fair."
/r/MensRights07/07/11 08:56 PM

I believe prohibition supporters are more focused on limiting the availability of sex, so men have to pay a higher price for it. With marriage, or the previously-mentioned examples. Prohibition supporters obfuscate their real reasons with the naivete that it can be eliminated, or absurd moralizing. People have this vision in their head that prostitution is pimps, strung-out junkies, and abusive johns. This is just not so. But regardless, it's a consensual act between consenting adults for an agr…

/r/MensRights07/07/11 08:15 PM

Yup! And that begs the question: If people are opposed to prostitution because it puts women at risk, why then do they not support legalizing it, and minimizing the risks to women? I have visited a legal brothel in Europe, and it was a very clean, secure, positive, and respectful environment for both men and women.
/r/MensRights07/07/11 08:14 PM
17

I think another reason legal prostitution is frowned on by women is because it will make sex more available to men, thus lowering the cost. No more will we see men bend over backwards for a chance at maybe getting a little fish taco when he can visit the local brothel for a fair price. To be fair, I used to think that Feminists were uniformly against prostitution but this is not so. There are a growing number of Feminists who are open to legalized prostitution. I think the bigger hurdle (in the …

Then why don't we legalize prostitution, so sex workers have legal protection when things go bad?

Using your rationale, then why is it any less unsafe for a woman to sleep with men for jewelry, social status, VIP nightclub access, or just a nice dinner?
/r/MensRights07/07/11 07:41 PM
5

One of the reasons why I support legalized prostitution is because it would very quickly show just how (not) golden a vagina is. Men are going to be much less likely to pussy beg when they can visit the friendly neighborhood brothel for a fair price. Imagine this: Get off of work on a Friday, have a nice dinner, then head out on the town. Spend a couple of hours with a hot woman who is paid to get you off and be nice to you. Go home, go to sleep, and you never have to talk to her again unless yo…

In the eyes of our feminist society, men are subhuman beasts, unworthy of consideration. "Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat." -Hillary Clinton Addition: The key part of this quote is "primary." I don't deny that women are victimized when their loved ones die. But they are not the primary victims, unless one believes men don't matter.

I would suggest you ponder the fact that Feminism is only possible BECAUSE it has allowed women to choose gender roles at will, but forces men into traditional ones. I've talked to so many Feminists who want to choose any gender role that sends their heart aflutter, but expect men to "man up" and "be a man." Feminism would not be anywhere nearly as oppressive as it is today if it did not force men to continue to sacrifice for women physically and financially. So, let's focus on one of the issues…

I have experienced some of what you are talking about. Co-workers who are married and/or have kids get a convenient excuse for slacking off, excessive time off, and fuck-ups. Feminism is not about equality, it's about female privilege. Selective service, reproductive rights, criminal justice, domestic violence, sexual violence, divorce, child custody, infant circumcision, employment law, and social welfare are all areas where women enjoy profoundly unfair advantages over men. Feminism fights to preserve and enhance female privilege in all these areas. Anyone who supports equal opportunity and equal rights for both genders cannot be a feminist.

Actually, I would argue that feminism is, in part, female biological imperative on steroids. The radical feminists hate marriage and reproduction, but they carve out privilege in those arenas for women to gain power and hurt men.

I guess it would be more correct for me to state that women can have a lot of empathy for individual men (just as you describe) but don't seem to have any for men as a collective. On the other hand, most men have empathy for women on an individual and a collective level. This is why I doubt men's rights are EVER going to get many female allies. Because I don't think they care enough about "men" in general to want to give up privilege. They'd rather be in denial that misandry affects the men they…

Which begs the question, what deficiency do most women have that they don't naturally try to empathize with a fellow human being? What do most women lack, that the only way they can program themselves to feel empathy is by going through something utterly drastic? I understand what you're trying to say, but the ethical arguments aren't quite as sunny when you look at the reality on the ground. Abortion denies the human rights of 1/2 of the "fully developed people" in this country. Women are the only people with reproductive rights. Whether a life is valued or not valued is entirely in the hands of the mother, yet she can depend on 18 years of child support from the father if she decides its worth keeping. They are equally important, but women dropped the ball first. Men are catching up. I'm straight. I don't want to get married and I don't want to have kids. But I still speak on those issues because the divorce industrial complex empowers evil women, feminists, and the State. /r/MensRights19/06/11 06:50 PM

Alcohol does impair those who drink it. And your declaration that an impaired person cannot fully consent to sex does apply to all amounts of alcohol consumption. Since alcohol has the possibility of impairing judgment, even drinking 1/2 a glass of light beer would mean someone was too impaired to consent.

Suzanne Venker is an important and rare voice in the wilderness, and I wholeheartedly recommend her book "The Flipside of Feminism." /r/MensRights19/06/11 04:31 PM
1

There is nothing immoral about consensual acts agreed upon by two parties. If we're to take your stance to it's logical conclusion, any combination of alcohol and sex is immoral. But from a legal standpoint, no man should have sex with a woman if she's even had one drink within an hour or two of sex.

I'm a pro-life libertarian and I think abortion should be de-funded at the federal level because i don't think its qualifies as an enumerated power as defined by the constitution. If states want to do it that's up to them and their residents. Even in a small-government libertarian society we will be paying for things that some might find morally objectionable. So IMO the constitutional reason is stronger.

Show examples of activism where feminists move to require anonymity for those accused of rape. (The same protection that rape accusers get.)

That's because women's groups don't want to lose their Pussy Cartel, and the government wants to keep men marrying women and growing the population. If sex were legal, reasonably priced, and reasonably safe, women would no longer be able to entice men into pregnancy & marriage with sex. Nor would they be able to manipulate men with sex. And let's face it: they don't have much else to offer these days. To be fair, though, there are a few feminists who do support legalizing prostitution.

No. Feminism demands female supremacy. And nearly all feminists know it, though they may be in denial. There's a very simple way for feminists to prove the above wrong, and it's for them to 1. Vocally oppose (name it and shame it) the man-hating feminists, of the past and the present. 2. Work with men in promoting male reproductive rights, child custody fairness, divorce fairness, criminal justice fairness, employment law, hiring quotas, and many other issues. I don't agree at all. From what I've observed, most men get involved in the MRM due to some combination of the following: 1. Feminism has screwed over their lives with some major event. (Divorce, false assault allegations, false rape accusations, child custody unfairness, etc) 2. A lot of little things have happened to them, and they gradually wake up. 3. IMO women who would like to help should spend time talking to MEN about these issues. If you want to argue with other women that's your choice, but talking to men would be more effective. There are men, especially the feminist men/white knight men, who will not listen to men's rights perspectives unless they hear it coming from a woman first. I would never blame a genuine victim of rape. The blame remains with the rapist. However, I personally think the hypersensitivity about "victim blaming" does women harm. Sure, but I'm not going to make it about me and my conversations. I'm going to point to examples in society as a whole, because that's the topic of this post. Public education favors girls' learning styles to the detriment of boys. Title IX, hiring quotas, and quotas to qualify for government contracts vastly advantage women in obtaining scholarships and employment. I took from the woman's story they were mixing ladies drinks more strongly, and that was why she was sharing with the men. I could have read wrongly.
/r/MensRights11/06/11 03:06 PM

I think it goes deeper than that. Women are special because they have vaginas. Men are disposable because they have penises. Women (and people in general) have a major lack of empathy for men because we're perceived as disposable. Also- Women and men both express that the female gender deserves special privilege, and shouldn't be held responsible for wrongdoing like men. The root of this belief probably comes from the woman-worshiping Victorian era.

Yes, as long as it was the sole decision of the private business and not a policy of the community/state. I am very consistent in my stances on liberty. Though I would not patronize a bar that expressed a racial preference.

Well one of the budget cutting bills, by Bob Corker of Tennessee, requires a certain amount to be cut every year or risk violating the law. At which time other provisions of the law go into effect to cut the budget without the guidance of Congress. The bill has received some bipartisan support. "Getting laid" is not a problem that most MRAs have. Getting laid is about 100 times easier than finding an upstanding and trustworthy woman. Claiming we're bitter because we can't get laid is not only false, it's a typical shaming tactic. Women are way more guilty of saying "all men are ___" than the opposite. This is as easy to prove as turning on the television. We see misandrist television shows and commercials all the time, and women just nod their heads. We complain about it, and we're tol…

Good discussion. I like ideas #2 and #3 and would apply #2 to government spending as well. Provocative clothing, to the minds of certain depraved people, does indicate sexual availability & willingness. Rape is about getting sex, that's why adults in their sexual prime are most likely to be raped. And anyway, the slutwalk discourse has gone beyond that officer's one comment. Fair enough, I may have said "dress" but what i meant was advertising sexual availability (to the warped mind of the rapist.) You obviously have a fair and balanced perspective on this, and I feel I do as well, though I may not be communicating very well. The best way I can put my position is that we should be able to have a frank discussion about risk management without a knee-jerk reaction that it is victim-blaming. I would never, and will never, blame the victim.
/r/MensRights10/06/11 03:34 AM

When feminists claim that risk management = victim-blaming, they are preventing women from gaining information that will help them make responsible choices. That's what started the slutwalk in the first place : a toronto constable gave risk management advice to young females, and feminists lost their minds over it.
/r/MensRights10/06/11 03:29 AM

Risk management is a part of life. For men and women. On the roads, at our jobs, while traveling, and many other places. Feminist opposition to discussion about risk management is incredibly damaging to women. It doesn't "come from the right place" at all: it comes from a place that apparently wants to prevent women from making responsible choices.

Protectiveness: As society continues to disintegrate, more people will be driven to violent acts (not just rape) out of anger or for survival. Women are more likely to be impacted by these acts, because they will be perceived as an easier target. As more (non-violent) men become utterly disgusted with women, they're not going to act to protect women. So Feminism's degradation of chivalry and disrespect for men is going to hurt women too, in the end. Suffrage: I wouldn't say that. Opportunity to …

The issue is risk management. A person can be perfectly responsible and still get assaulted. Nobody deserves to be raped or assaulted. I was molested as a child, so I have empathy for victims. There are many things a person can do, though, to lessen their risk. My problem with the "victim-blaming" shaming tactics is that they are silencing common sense advice. The influence of Feminism permeates modern society and culture. A person (man or woman) can vocally deny any allegiance to Fem, yet buy into a lot of the ideology, just by following the "mainstream" view of things. There's also the problem that the definition, history, and results of Feminism seems to depend on the frame of mind of the particular Feminist asked. Yes, and those responsible for promoting feminism are essentially using man's natural instincts as our achilles' heel. Were I a woman, I would be horrified at the fact that feminism is killing chivalry, and significant numbers of men are losing their protective instinct for women. Most men are not violent towards women, but men are needed to control the men who are. In the end, Feminism will hurt women bigtime.

This is just totally wrong. Feminism was/is responsible for laws and courts that privilege women and discriminate against men. Nope I was articulating that if someone is a drunk slut who abandons personal responsibility, that will increase their risk to experience a violent crime. Here on planet earth we call that observation "common sense." Some feminists, being from the magical world of women's studies, call guidance for common sense "victim blaming." Obviously, it is possible for anyone to be assaulted at any time. There are ways one can minimize or increase their risks depending on personal behavior.
