Obviously the relationship with his dad wasnt great, or his dad wouldnt have fucked his wife. It is rare that the women have the control in the power dynamic - I'd bet dad orchestrated all the things, made the moves, whatever the fuck.

i mean.... yeah, this would be a fair arrangement as youd be compensated for domestic labor, which most women are not. so yeah, I'd maybe even make some sort of contract about it so that when yall get married it can be figured into the prenup (i assume there'll be one). documentation is your friend

You cant force it, and we arent all the same. There's no ONE way to get a woman's attention lol We all like different stuff, we change what we like/will tolerate as we get older lol Actually i take it back - we do like confidence, but the bitch about that it that you have to be self-assured to have confidence... So when people tell you "just be yourself"....yeah. do that. I mean, try to develop as much of yourself as you can, explore every interest, read all the time, learn new shit constantly..…

I often try to make myself indispensable when I'm seeking some kind of validation or affirmation that i do, in fact, belong where i am. Be careful taking on too much, as burnout is a real thing and you should also exercise self-care and boundaries. You cant fill other's buckets if your own is empty. Be sure you ask others for help and also are exercising your right to say "no" if people are asking too much. There has to be give/take in relationships - all sorts of relationships. Professional, pe…

Good guys are generally nice guys. What's the alternative? Being a helpful asshole, maybe? Lol dont do that. Hopefully you're already at least kind of funny... If you want to graduate from "nice", your next positive step would be "useful" or "interesting". Useful is way easier to achieve - but it does require more attention to detail and active listening, as well as being generally resourceful (i.e. being able to come up with solutions out of skills or items or insight you already possess or are…

I think she probably just wanted you to flirt with her while drunk. Usually people confess their secret feelings for someone while drunk, so maybe that's what she was counting on. Just tell her you got too drunk too quickly and misplaced your phone or something, and try again some other time?

I was literally just asking you to be more specific so that i could actually provide you with what you asked for....

I will happily provide - is there a specific demographic subset you'd like me to focus on? You know, because science. We can break this down however you'd like Idk why im the only one who's doing research, but i do love to prove a point And gender (man/woman/trans/etc) isnt the same thing as biological sex (male/female/intersex)....so your misapplication of the entire field of biology in this context is most troublesome....so to is your refusal to accept subjective/objectivity in the most base a…

I dont think you get the meaning of transitioning in this context. Or performative.
/r/Divorce_Men29/11/21 09:09 PM

You clearly havent studied this "deeply", as you seem completely ignorant to the very basics of gender theory. Gender in an of itself is a subjective experience, there are no facts in this entire realm beyond "gender and biological sex are different". After that, it's a matter of personal experiences and performative sociological constructs which vary widely from culture to culture as well as person to person.
/r/Divorce_Men29/11/21 09:07 PM

I am not. That's not what "transitioning" really refers to.

You clearly have no firsthand experience with trans people lol

I think a critical point you're missing is that people dont want the gender binary to begin with, but because that's the parameters which most societies ended up with, it was easier to expand the definition of gender and accept it to be more fluid than to dismantle it entirely. People are making due with something that never really worked for everyone. You know, like capitalism.

Everything socially constructed is made up. The gender binary itself was made up.

Also, cosmetic surgery..serves not just those who want smaller boobs or a different nose, but also does a lot of crossover with those who have been victims of some sort of disfiguring accident, because their techniques are often more sophisticated than general surgeons and are therefore more beneficial to people who arent fans of gnarly scars.

There are tons of other medicinal uses for hormone treatments. Ask anyone who has had their thyroid taken out. HRT and the entire field of endocrinology would definitely take issues with your claim there, bud

Behaviors are not sex-specific. Behaviors are taught and learned and as such can be unlearned. I think the trans identity - and gender identity as a whole - is far more complex that you're willing to give it credit for.

Gender is performative, socially constructed. The only reason people feel the need to identify with any gender at all is because of the weird emphasis on gender roles and stereotypes. People choose which set of behaviors the identify with the most, regardless of biological sex. Idk wtf Big Pharma has to do with any of this, as gender existed well before pharma did.

You know you can go to bars and not drink, right? (I mean, unless YOU cant...disregard if it's a sobriety thing) Like....i drink very occassionally, but still go out with friends and sometimes meet people

I think OP stayed to be supportive, not because they are gay (not that there's anything wrong with that!) I get that the wife transitioned. It happens. Unusual, and difficult to navigate, but it happens. I definitely agree that the post describes a shit ton of psychological abuse and that OP is living in a terrible situation. I was just confused by the comment i was responding to.

If you need to know that it's time to leave, hey buddy, I'm here to tell you - you gotta get the fuck out this abusive, toxic relationship. You deserve to be happy, safe, loved...you dont have any reason to live in this personal hell.

That's not how I read the situation though; you're really monopolizing this continued hypothetical for your own response to make sense.

I mean, that's just too many steps. I was just assuming in this scenario the convo was going well Also, why are you telling me how women work lol i feel like my pulse on that would be a little more reliable... the girl agrees to it, she absolutely did not want to continue talking to you.

I mean...maybe. i think that's stupid, and way less demonstrative of character, but to each their own. Simply put, the odds arent in your favor on that one. Too many potential follow ups. He could jokingly say yes, and then you just gave him the floor. When trying to seduce/chat up people, always always always run thru the potential comebacks and be prepared for them. He can either say yes or no She can say yes or no But ultimately what did you accomplish? And what are you implying? That you can…

I find men/women who call people out for acting annoying attractive - so long as they arent disrespectful to do it. It shows the right amount of authority and control over the situation, it can make someone feel safer, and it also shows that you're an assertive person with conviction. Now if you're not these things and want to be, might as well start practicing. You dont have to "save the day", but you can "save the moment", you know? Ex. if you tell an asshole to quiet down if he's shouting in …

Her guy friend probably wants her so he was doing that on purpose. Get her number or call him out or both. Just a simple "hey man, im really more interested in what the lady thinks, can you NOT?" Would demonstrate interest as well as send the message. If he continues, he risks looking like MORE of an ass. Dont lead girls off to private areas during get togethers. That is weird. If she wanted to be alone with you, she'd make it happen and tell him to fuck off herself.

Oh, keep in mind that this will ultimately come back around when you send them to college. Look into FAFSA calculations and how financial aid is calculated if there is a significant wage disparity between you and your ex. Regardless of current financial standing, if you want to play the long game for your kids, financial aid (not merit based scholarships or aid) is something you're gonna want to take into consideration for the sake of getting the most government assistance that you wont/they won…

I think in those situations your body is just taking what should be "fight or flight" and adding the lesser known third option..."or fuck" Basically...i dont think it's a typical response, or we wouldnt be able to show horror in public theatres lol...but those other two responses are similar to those of arousal in terms of how the body responds (heart beat increases, digestion slows, pupils dilate, etc), so it isnt far fetched.
