I think I'm alright now. That's how mine was for a while. Anything I squeezed, it bled. The skin feels like a DL callous now (hope you been lifting - if not you can't relate lol). I've done this 4 or 5 times in my life. Slice some skin open and just fold it back onto the wound like a band-aid. They heal OK but I always lose feeling on that spot. No nerves I guess. Might test it out tonight actually. Feels like it won't open up.

I literally re-read this shit yesterday. Like, no bullshit. I was reading it right before I got my haircut. One thing he talks about WRT instilling Dread is being high SMV. I have no job. I'm not high SMV. I'm gonna start lifting everyday (if my hand is cool) but SMV has been equal. I'm definitely in the resentment/anger phase right now though. Took me a while, but I'm there. Maybe it's cause I've made some improvements, and now they don't matter. Actually, that's exactly what it is... At first,…

OYS #7: "Nothing to report!" Still looking for work. Still working on me. It's hard. But I'm confident I'll find a job soon. Wife isn't though. I've been jobless 3 times, and each time she loses her shit. I tell her it'll be fine. Her anxiety ratchets up no matter what. Before MRP I would reassure her. Try to give her comfort, fix her mental issues. Fuck that. We have money. It ain't that bad. STFU bitch. Body Still losing weight! Down to 185. Diet is shakes and dinner. Sometimes liquor. More on…

Minor point, but just wanted to say that this isn't hysterical bonding. This is just a shit test. And FYI it's not about the bed. Hysterical bonding, to paraphrase, is if you cheat on her, or serve her papers and move out, ir however you hurt her, and then she wants you even more and fucks your brains out. Do some more reading of the sidebar.

Maybe "hate" is too strong a word. I disliked it. We had a good team and I got along with all of them well, but I wasn't a fan of my particular job. You've been on my head quite a bit and it's deserved. I don't appreciate it but I need the kick in the ass. I'm sure my wife appreciates it. If you care to know, I'm the poster boy for NMMNG. Raised by a single mom. Dad died when I was young. No father figures. So I'm a faggot. Still trying to figure out how to be a man at 34 yrs old. I'm behind the…

Yeah man. You're right. I just got the LinkedIn Premium free trial. I need this shit to happen ASAP. I think this is kinda taboo at MRP and definitely TRP, but I actually like my kid and I do like being married. So I want to make this work. If I dont work though, B's Law comes into effect and I'm SOL. Updated my resume pre-layoff. I was already looking. Just gotta find some shit now. Already had a couple phone interviews and it's only been 2 days. Need to keep this momentum.

I'm pretty sure it's Insecurity Hamster but like I said, doesn't hurt to know for sure. I know for a fact she had a Beta Orbiter from her job while we were dating and I also know he never fully left. I've seen the horror stories. My kid is only 1 so I'd rather know for sure now than find somw devastating shit out later. I've already got some leads and am setting up some interviews. Updating your LinkedIn, reaching out to old contacts, looking at postings, all of that. I've started that part. LinkedIn is updated. Already got a few leads. Did most of that while I was drunk SMH. I really need to do what you did. I want to be a writer full time. I need to get off my ass and make that happen. I'm so fucking worried about getting a "real" job with a salary. I need to pour more of my effort into doing what I really wanna do. If it doesn't work out, that's fine. I can always go ba…

OYS #6: "If he dies, he dies..." Just lost my job, which led to this post. Initially, it seemed like an HR error. I went to the VP and he lost his shit. He said he was gonna get things straight over the weekend. Turns out it came from higher up than him, and there was nothing he could do. It was a money issue, so the parent company was cutting down on all the higher paid contractors. Just a reminder that at the end of the day, we are all numbers on a spreadsheet. Do what's best for you. This isn…

So fix it first then be pissed? I feel like being mad about getting laid off is a natural human reaction. But women don't feel like that. We have to be "on" every second of every day with them.

That's what I almost mentioned. I thought I remembered in your initial OYS (or maybe another post) that you had your own business. You can take the day off. I'm where you are a year ago. Working a job I don't like, 60 hrs a week. Add on a 2 hr commute each way on top of that. It's soul-sucking but I get paid well. Now I'm not sure if I'll have that job anymore and I gotta figure things out. Didn't hate it as much as I thought I did I guess lol.

My job is up in the air. May be getting fired. I got upset about it and got drunk. Wife got pissed (understandably). While I was drunk last night I was feeling like all my progress was lost. lighten up a bit on "interpretation" of her behavior. And /u/thunderbeyond said the same thing, he's overthinking this. I feel like any day now, we'll get a post here with a guy asking, "My wife was dicing onions and chopped her finger off. She told me to call 911. Was this a shit test or comfort test?"

Exactly. I used the cheat codes. I read The Game and all the PUA tactics over a decade ago. I may have even said i was an alpha turned beta in my intro post. But being here these few months has made me realize I wasn't shit. Didn't have shit and wasn't gonna be shit. A lot of guys here are fooling themselves.
/r/askMRP20/01/18 08:32 AM
1

"seeming alphas" is the key phrase. Of course a single muthafucka in his 20s is gonna SEEM alpha. If he has his own place, own car, own money, he can do wtf he wants. But soon as that wagon gets hitched to a bitch he's beta. And then he comes here saying "I got beta-fied." Bullllllshit. You were beta all along and didn't even know it. All your wife/ltr did was shine a light on it.
/r/askMRP20/01/18 07:37 AM
2

It's bullshit IMO. Sheep in wolf clothing. Pretty much everyone that comes here, in their intro post, says some shit like, "lifetime Alpha, but became beta over time." Horseshit. You were always beta, but no one was around (no gf/wife/ltr) to prove it.

Dude, have you not read dontdreadpirates advice on plates for MRP? It's sidebar material. He answers this exact question ("Are you married?"). If you had read that, you would've been prepared and probably closed. Nice practice though. I recently n-closed a chick at a bar. Catch and release, just practicing. Struck out a couple times too. Nice to get back out there though, and get the feeling of abundance. Keep it up.

You're talking about the top 1% of lifters. Competition guys. I don't think most guys here are going for that. But they need to get in shape. You love cardio. You love machines. It works for you. But guys have gotten results with heavy weight too. The main point is get off the couch, be active. It's just that you're saying your way is the right way and that isn't correct. It is A WAY. This sounded weird to me as well. So her dad said, "screw it, I don't want my daughter to have my last name" and gave her a different one? She's not competing with other 50 yr olds. She's competing with any woman that wants to get laid. People apply this sliding scale to the SMP but it's just not the case. If I'm 80 yrs old, can I call myself a 10 SMV? Well, I'm the hottest octogenarian in the nursing home, of course I'm a 10, right? Wrong. Barring exceptions (Hugh Hefner, Jerry Buss), I'm not getting a young hot chick. I have low SMV. And my best bet is to play in the low SMV pool with the other old chicks at the home, who also ha…

All due respect, yours is off and mine is fine. I haven't seen a concrete MRP definition, but Chad is pretty much recognized to be 10 SMV. I think we can all agree on that. There are very few 10 SMV 50 yr old men, if any. Might be some hanging around these parts? Her orbiters you describe in your post sound like BB, not AF. She's over the hill and overweight. Be honest with yourself. It's Oneitis. She isn't gonna walk up to Chad at a bar and pull him.

I see exactly what you're saying, and I agree. Came home one day and saw my daughter scrolling IG like a pro. GSLP isn't strict as, say, SS or SL. The base program is 3x/wk but he has variations for 2 days, 4 days, etc. The pushups and chins are 5-6 times a week (depending on volume). Weighted chins are done on gym days. BW chins with a pull up bar at home or office are done on off days. I can't do weighted chins yet (garage gym) so I've been trying to do daily chins. Haven't been disciplined. A while back though, I did them daily with no ill effects. Had just started training them so volume was super l…

OYS #5: Superman doesn't bleed So, I recently watched Bat v. Supes and the "Do you bleed?" line caught my attention. For the uninitiated, Batman wants to kill Superman, and asks the Kryptonian if he bleeds. Superman remains stoic. Batman says, "You will..." This is a loose metaphor, but MRP is about fixing the man, not the marriage (Rule Zero). Basically, becoming Superman (the best version of you). And Superman doesn't bleed, unless he fights a being of equal power (Doomsday), or a lesser being…

25 yr marriage? And above you said you're giving it 6-9 months? I'm not sure which, it was another wishy-washy amswer... Have you read anything? Like the posts about how it takes a month for every BP year? Your time frame should be 2 yrs, not 6-9 months. How about NMMNG or WISNIFG? You need to read those ASAP. They are key to assertiveness and gettibg rid of that bitchmade "I dunno sweetie, what do YOU want to do?" mindset. You've lost weight. That's great. Now do the hard shit.

Those handheld monitors read differently depending on how much water you have in your body. Also, OP said he worked out and also ate. Both of those can change the numbers too. Hence, if you ever go to a gym (like 24hr) and ask to get measured, they make you do it before your workout. So it depends on the conditions he was under during both measurements. They have to be identical to get an accurate comparison reading.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with daily, or "almost" daily, pull/chin ups. I'm doing GSLP and they're part of the program. A lot of other programs include them too, some weighted, some not, some both. "Marathoners quads" are after hours of running, and thousands of calories burned. What is it, like 26 miles? I don't have the research in front of me but hours upon hours of long distance running absolutely hurts muscle gain. Not nearly equivalent to a few chins each day. In fact, when I starte…

Thanks for reposting this. I forgot to save it when I first read it. End of the day, people need to stay away from absolutes. MRP isn't one-size-fits-all. Like the recent conversation about finances and joint accounts. One guy wants his wife to contribute exactly half. Another wants his to contribute nothing. The right answer to these topics isn't Option A or Option B, it's whatever works for you in your situation.

I'm on GSLP as well. Any reason why you're not increasing the weight and keeping your AMRAPs in the teens? I think the book says ideal rep range is 5-10 (been a while) so if I get to 15 reps on a lift I double the weight next time. Once when I was first starting I added 20 lbs instead of 5 lol. Did like 19 reps on squats.

I consider myself a HFA, and I've never heard of Naltrexone. When I take my sabbaticals, it's all willpower. I just say, "fuck it, I'm not drinking this day/week/month." Sometimes it works. And more importantly, did you experience any side effects?

This is something I just don't understand, and I've mentioned it before. Are you guys browsing MRP on the family desktop? You're typing up an OYS post while the kid is waiting to research their history essay? There's no reason to hide. But there's also no reason to leave shit laying around either. I agree. A lot of us haven't touched our wives in months or years. You definitely want to prime the engines. Start with some light kino and ramp it up slowly so she gets used to the idea of you touching her as you progress. /u/BluePillProfessor breaks this down well. Guess you've never spun a basketball before. Makes sense, being an Engineer lol. After you get the ball up to speed, it'll spin on it's own for a while but gradually lose momentum. For hard case Newbs, learn how to sexually escalate with your wife, first. The first thing Newbs need to do is LIFT, Sidebar and STFU. I know cause I'm still a newb. If you start sending eggplant emojis, unbuttoning her jeans, doing ass-grab drive-bys and escalating sexually, it's gonna feel rapey to her, not sexy. Be attractive first. Don't be unattractive. THEN start escalating.

I remember reading this when I first found MRP. Great post, I need to re-read it all. I dunno why guys eschew fashion. It's literally the easiest thing you could do to up your SMV immediately. Our first Christmas together, she got me the wackest fucking shirts imaginable. I told her I didn't like em and I wasn't wearing em. Take em back. She got all pissy so I kept the shirts. They're collecting dust in the back of the closet, years later. I'm about to drop them off at Goodwill this weekend with other stuff that d…

Have you been reading this sub? Reading OYS Weekly? That book applies to the majority of guys on this sub. I have yet to see someone say, "Reading NMMNG, doesn't apply to me, putting it down..." I dont think there's a man born in this modern age that it does not apply to in some shape or form. It's the first book recommended for a reason. I procrastinated with reading WISNIFG. I'm kicking myself for it now. Go read NMMNG.

Not really my situation. I've had this routine for the last 3 weeks every morning while Wife was in the shower. It wasn't something new I did that day. Only difference was she put the clothes out first this time. Usually that's last.

Are we going to get to a point where we need a contract and third party notary there to say the sex was legit? Chappelle's Show had a sketch with this very premise. It was over a decade ago. Right before sex, the guy pulls out a consent contract. I'm gonna try to find it... This may very well be where we are headed. EDIT: Found the sketch.

My wife started doing this after a couple months of MRP. Even did drive by dick grabs. However, after a couple of mishaps over the weekend, her response to me grabbing her two days ago was "DON'T EVER FUCKING TOUCH ME!!!" I haven't touched her since. But then last night while I was washing dishes, she playfully kicked me in the leg, smiled and ran (a little flirty playfighting thing we do). Just a reminder to add "right now" or "at this moment" to everything they do/say (wish I could find that p…

I remember reading somewhere, either here on the Subs or the Sidebar, to not expect to get credit for anything. They're not wired to notice or appreciate the things we do. It's all about them - solipsism. Couple that with the Light Switch Effect, and she's gonna forget you ever did it in the first place. Recently my wife listed a laundry list of things she "did for me" and dared me to do the same. In other words, she's keeping score (they all do). I engaged (dummy) and the first thing I said, sh…

As an addendum, The Black Philip Show isn't on the Sidebar but as far as I'm concerned it's required listening. Patrice O'Neal talks about how he used to write chicks poetry when he was young. Didn't get him laid. It wasn't until he became DGAF that he made strides.

Don't right any letters. IDGAF if you can make me tap in under a minute. That's just faggotry. You know who writes letters? The desperate kid in drama class who wants the hottest chick in school to be his gf. Know how I know? Cause I did that dumb shit. She kept the letter for 15 years. I have confirmation on that. Did I ever bang her? Hell fucking no. I was a fringe "cool kid" so she acknowledged my presence, but I never so much as held her hand. She probably kept the letter to read after being…

Good point. I didn't say it looking for validation. It was purely logistical. "OK, you're gonna change her? Well everything is ready..." Not in a, "look how high i can jump mommy!" Kind of way. I get it though, and you're 100% right. Men do, women talk. I need to break this habit. Goes in the same category as telling her what you did at work. "I did XY and Z today! Aren't I a good boy?!" Haven't read this one about The Light Switch Effect, and it hit home. Women will literally re-write history, even as it's happening. For example, this morning, we're getting ready for the day. Wife is dressed, I'm about to hop in the shower. The kid starts stirring. Time to get her ready. Wife says... "Hop in the shower babe. I got her." "OK. I've set everything up in the front (to get the baby ready)." "No. I set everything up in the front." Now mind you, when I woke up, there was nothing in th…

This was obvious to me. I took Japanese in HS because I wanted to read/watch anime. Buddy of mine took it serious and actually learned the language. He took a job right out of college to move to Japan and teach English. Mind you, his English wasn't great (he doesn't know a gerund from a participle) but he got paid well and every time he comes back home he has stories about all the chicks he's banging, just cause he's American. I almost made some stands myself, but opted for a cheap pair on Amazon. Had one close call. Racked the weight too fast on a squat and the right arm titled. Usually i put a plate on the fron base of each to stabilize them for this scenario. Was being lazy that night and didnt do it. Lesson learned for me as well.

I'm pretty much allergic to fruit. First wife kept a lot of fruit in the house. I'd snack on it and I blew up. Stopped eating it and pretty much went keto, very few carbs and moderate fats, high protein. Weight fell off. 2nd wife loves fruit too. And my daughter. I don't go near it. I'll have an apple every now and then just cause I like apples ("How you like 'dem apples?!?!"). Maybe an orange or banana here or there. But that's like once or twice a month. How in the hell did you do that? Lifting heavy weight should be treated with the same care and attention as operating heavy machinery. If you wouldn't do it behind the wheel of a car, don't do it while lifting.

You'll make better progress at a commercial gym with other strong men around you. You'll be held accountable by their presence. How about holding yourself accountable to yourself? Are you lifting to get stronger? Or to measure dicks?

Yeah, that sounds like it sucks. You can OHP 120, right? But you're squatting 110. Ever though of just pressing the bar up, but instead of standard OHP bring it down to your back for a squat? Also, front squats might be easier to do with this set up.

Same here. Had to ask myself why I would drink so much. Thanks to MRP and NMMNG I realized it was all the resentment and anger I had towards my wife/marriage. Squats: 110 lbs (I know I can do more with a proper squat rack) What do you have now? A couple of stands? That's what I have. No problems yet, but I'm only up to like 210 lbs. Things might get dicey at +300 lbs. Whatever you do, don't go 5x5 with puny weight. At least up the reps if you're not increasing weight. That way you still get stronger.

Stop buying booze and put that money for your 5th towards a membership. This is what I'm doing. I spent between $50 and $100 on alcohol each week. Low end is no bar trip, high end with a bar trip (or two). This isn't counting dinner w/ the wife, where I'd order a bunch of drinks. Cut that back to one drink max. Should be able to buy my squat rack in a few weeks!

Hangover day would leave me being irritable and depression seemed to be a recurring emotion that I rarely had before. If it's interfering with shit, you have a problem. The "1 month for each year" thing is a guideline for when you'll see things turn around, if done correctly of course. If you've been a beta bitch for 5 years of the marriage, expect at minimum 5 months of work before seeing improvements. Not a hard amd fast "rule" but basically, the longer you've been shitty, the longer its gonna take to fix.

Exactly. And I'm kinda just paraphrasing. It gets worse sometimes. I asked her brother about it and he said it wasn't like that growing up. Their dad was pretty demanding but not verbally abusive. He talks shit but it's mostly passive-aggressive stuff. Like, "Oh hey, you FINALLY got a job!" He said that to the younger brother once. So this is all her, it seems. While the weight is low, I actually find these workouts much more difficult. I did Starting Strength for a while, and I felt like the workouts weren't very difficult. That was my fault. Part of it was, I was progressing too slow. Adding 5 lbs when I should have added 10, or 15. I switched to GSLP, and the last set is AMRAP (As Many Reps As Possible). I have significantly more trouble doing a set of squats with a 30 lb KB on this program than I did with much heavier weights in SL. That's because here I'm under control the entire time, forcing my knees apart, legs muscles fully tensed the entire movement, not ever locking out my knees, etc. That's the problem, those are the things you should have been doing with the heavy lifts. Not just getting the weight up. Focusing on form. Do you have Starting Strength? If not get a copy. Or GSLP. It goes…

Unless you're already ripped (sub 10%) and need hammy definition for your upcoming bodybuilding contest because that's your least aesthetic muscle group, you're just wasting time. The definition of Fuckarounditis. You haven't posted any lifting stats. Just your weight. Height would help. But what are your 1RM on the big lifts (estimated or actual)? That's how you get jacked. Unless you were hella obese before, yo…

Try and read up a bit on TheUltimateCad and the way he dealt with stuff. I've seen Cad's story referenced a bunch of times. I hear it's legendary. But I can't find it anywhere. Apparently he deleted his account, and my searches haven't been very successful. Just more references (like yours). Was it preserved somewhere? Would be nice if it was on the sidebar.

3 is definitely my problem during big issues. Little shit, I'm fine handling it and finding the feelz. Big shit, honestly I get pissed and that's when the logic comes out. I've always had an issue with people thinking I'm wrong, stupid, etc. I need to kill the ego. It ain't dead yet. End of the day, I shouldn't give a fuck what people think about me (within reason, of course). WRT the Bonnie and Clyde thing, I definitely have to do better in that area. Yup, she suggested it. And being the BP pussy that I was, I went along with it, even though deep down I wanted to delay it. And that I hate having shit like that on holidays. It's about respect and loyalty, not a specific task. She said something along the lines of, "You don't respect me, you're not loyal. If I get these tickets I feel like I'm rewarding bad behavior."
/r/askMRP09/12/17 06:38 PM

That's exactly what she said. I don't respect her and I'm not loyal. I don't care about her. Maybe I've been STFU too much. I need to provide some comfort without going full beta.

I guess "XYZ" doesn't help much, but it's basically her thinking I pick everyone else side over her side. She feels disrespected by literally everyone, even her parents. It boils down to her wanting me to take her side on every issue, whether she is right or wrong. And that's something I'm not willing to do. I won't compromise my own judgment. So we are in a Cold War now. She's Daddy's Little Princess, except she wants to stab her Dad in the throat.

I've never really been able to relate to people who say they'd be bored if they didn't work for a living. I have a shitload of hobbies. I have a ton of places I want to visit. Things I want to do and experience. I'd be just fine not working, with a bunch of free time. I've had family members who worked til they were dead or dying because they were afraid to retire, and didn't have anything to do. Had some that did retire, but just sat in front of the TV all day and withered away. Fuck that.

Ego= entitlement. That's how I've always thought of it from an MRP perspective. "I deserve XYZ from my wife/kids/job." And usually there are a bunch of Nice Guy Covert Contracts attached to that. You don't deserve anything. You haven't EARNED anything. You're not entitled to squat (except squatting, which is under your control). KILL THAT EGO. Kill that part of you that thinks you deserve something for nothing, then go out and earn the awesome life you seek.

I've gotten "trapped" at home with my young daughter several times, and had fun and didn't feel bored or trapped at all. I LITERALLY have a 24 hour gym lol, now that I've got a garage gym. Have had a couple 1am sessions. Can't sleep? Fuck it, go lift. It's more about being in tune with your body and learning what works for you. That's the key. I've never, ever felt great in the morning. Always takes me a couple hours at work just to get in the groove. And yeah, it's all about discipline. I know people who Wake & Bake. You're stoned from 5-8. Sure, you get credit for waking up early. Appreciate the advice. Your ex sounds just like my wife. Thing I've been fighting back like a herd of zombies is her inviting herself to shit. I realized the way I was phrasing it was open ended. Exactly. And like I said, I'm no trainer. Stick to whatever plan you're on. Keep the running to a minimum, like 30 mins max. If you're a distance runner, no one can help you lol. Stay around the same weight. Lift heavy. You'll lose a few lbs and still get ripped. Keep that protein up.

I do have hobbies, and a very large social circle. I think the problem is I've invited her into these circles before MRP. For instance, I play softball in two leagues. "I want to go to your games!" I let her come. My friends have shit. "Can I come?" She literally has no friends other than me and the baby. I'm such a bitch for feeling bad for her. If I don't take her out, she has NOTHING to do. Never done 5x5, but I assume it's a warmup to 5 sets of 5 reps? Or is that working weight? I assumed the 5RM in your writeup was just for one set, not 5 sets of X weight. For example, you normally do 5 sets at 210x5, but can max out at 270 for 5 reps.

I feel a little tired and a little lost this week. I’ve struggled with my usual 4.30am wake ups - I’m asking too much of myself by going to bed too late to bounce out of bed. This morning was my third day in a row of sleeping til 6am. I tried it, the early thing, and I'm going back to 6am. I'm RARELY asleep by 10. No prob. Just trying to help. FWIW, I plugged in 2 lbs/wk loss for you and it dropped carbs to 150, total calories 2768. You're huge so I know under 100 is tough for you. 150 seems reasonable. Maybe if the stall continues for another few weeks, try dropping some of the carbs.

Wasn't really worried about the ht/wt stats. Assumed those were right. I'm talking about the calorie counts, both requirements and food intake counting. You mentioned heavy drinking in a previous OYS. Are you counting the beers/shots? They WRECKED my goals. Quick way to put you in a surplus. Even if you factor in the alcohol, your body burns that all day and doesn't burn actual calories until the booze is out your system. This can take hours, even a whole day. Man = Commitment Woman = Sex This is a main tenet of RP, and I agree with it, but after you're married they've got the Commitment while they still weaponize Sex. Feels like a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest. All our leverage is literally gone. I don't know wtf to do. I guess time/attention = commitment but it doesn't feel the same.

I'm in the "Weaponized Sex" group. This is a really good rundown. Would be nice to have a Sidebar breakdown somewhere. Wife actually said "I'm not having sex with you because of XYZ." Question about WISNIFG audio book: is it a chore to listen to? A lot of MRPers say it's super long, a tedious read, and there's a ton of transcripts with examples of the techniques. Ah, that sucks. One gym I went to was always empty, so it wasn't a problem. Another one was a lifting gym and had like 15 racks and plenty benches everywhere. I'm no trainer (beginner actually) but I researched not benching when getting my garage gym together. Knew I couldn't afford a rack with safety bars for a few months. Didn't wanna have a puny chest and ripped lower body. OHP is comparable to bench, and they tend to correlate well (a high bench usually means high OHP and vice versa). OHP is…

My watch game has been on point since Jr HS. My grandfather had an ironclad rule that every man needed a quality timepiece, and that stuck with me at an early age. However, nowadays I'm on the Smart Watch train. I can track my activity, calories burned, steps, etc. Can screen texts and phone calls. I really don't see myself going back. Special occasions maybe. My goal was to save my marriage. Think that may be impossible. This is going to be a long painful process. MRP saves men. It doesn't save marriages. I'm new too. STFU to me means STFU during Shit Tests, when I'm in a bad mood, etc. Don't be whiny and complainy. If my wife brings up football, I'm gonna talk football. If she brings up any manner of other interesting subjects, I'm gonna talk about em. I think you missed the meaning of STFU.

Seems like theres a post like this every few weeks. I don't understand. Do you guys read/post on the family computer? Why not your personal laptop/comp?

OK, got it. Honestly kinda cringed at the flipping the script part, almost deleted it, but decided to keep it in. I've never really cared where wife was, but OP seems like the type that does. Good call on the moralizing. Thought you were talking about the drinking initially. But yeah I see what you're saying now, regarding my marriage comment. Thanks.

Well Yeah, I don't know why either lol. He should run. Regarding Plans Change, maybe I'm speaking from recent experience. Not gonna hijack the thread but I've basically been locked in a Cold War ever since I changed plans. Plan on starting OYS next week, FR will probably end up in there. Points well taken though. Been lurking for months, this is why I decided to start posting more. Get my thoughts/ideas challenged.

Good point. Didn't mean to imply "do what she wants" but I can see how it reads that way. My point was, if you say you're gonna do something, follow through. /u/BluePillProfessor episode on Shit Tests or Drunk Captain (can't remember which) came to mind.

If you like going out with your buddies, go out with them. If you don't like hanging out with these guys (seems like you do) then stop hanging out with them. End of the day, it's your life, do what makes you happy. You only live it once. And if staying out all night is a hobby, by all means enjoy.

Concern trolling? Not sure I follow... But yeah, good point, convo should go like that. Not the "mommy I'm sorry" stuff that it sounds like OP was considering.

When you say you're going to do something and you DON'T do it, that's a DLV. "I'm gonna clean up the garage this weekend, sweetheart." "OK great!" Two weeks pass, garage is still a mess. "OMG WHY HAVEN'T YOU CLEANED THE GARAGE??? You NEVER follow through with ANYTHING!" Failed promises are just asking for a Shit Test. And yes, I know "I'll be home at 2am" isn't a "promise" but with women, everything you say they will hold you accountable for. And just to flip it, would you be cool with her comin…

LOL I've been using MRP "tactics" on everyone now, not just the wife. I played baseball and a little football. Was mostly sprints in football, and sprints around the bases for baseball. We'd do one or two laps around the field for "conditioning". One of my best friends growing up ran cross country team though so I get it. And I get the meditative aspect, I take a couple mile-long walks daily. For reference, these guys are both about my height, 5'6", and about 135 lbs. Definitely don't lift.

I felt the same way. Whole sections I was like, "This is literally my life." Keep reading. MMSLP, Book of Pool, WISNIFG, Rational Male. Listen to /u/bluepillprofessor podcast too. Until then, don't worry about passing shit tests. You'll just fuck things up lol. Just STFU for a while until things start to make sense. And LIFT. You didn't post height/weight, but if you're out of shape and unattractive, all the test-passing skills in the world won't help you. She'll see your dad bod (or worse) and …

You run? Someone chasing you? You know you're not prey, right? Funny, I was joking with my coworkers about this. They invited me on an 8 mile run. I said, "For what?" They said stuff about being in shape, conditioning, blah blah blah. I said, "I envision no scenario where I have to run 8 miles. Either I'm sprinting from danger, or I'm turning to fight. If you run you'll only die tired." It was some lighthearted banter back and forth, but seriously, I'd rather practice picking up heavy shit and f…

Looks like it's BRAND NEW to you. Like you started reading stuff this week. I'm new and I've been lurking for months. Just STFU (at least you got that right), LIFT (if it's done by kids at recess - push ups, jump rope - it doesn't count) and read the sidebar. If you put in the effort, it'll start to make sense.

This is hardly a Shit Test imo. Shit Quiz, maybe... You said she delivered it lightheartedly. Shit Tests are usually in an offensive or snarky tone. Maybe she really was just joking? And it seems like this is a recurring joke from her? Either she really thinks you're a wuss (which is your fault) or she's just joking. Only you know the answer to that. But are you really ready to go nuclear over minor name calling? "That shit ain't gonna fly anymore" is Rambo talk.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here either. I'm pretty new here, still getting my shit together, but I do know the basic mantra of MRP is to MAN UP. Own your shit, lift, sidebar. That's how you man up. You've already said your family tells you to man up and you hate it, doctors were dumb to tell /u/gettingmymojoback to man up, you flat out dismissed his suggestion and the suggestions of others... You struggle to hold down a job. Let me say straight up that, fixing yourself, gaming your wif…

"I can't really go with the accept the new me mentality. It's like telling someone with 2 broken legs to run a marathon and suck it up." No, it's not. It's more like telling a marathon runner who loses his legs to go join the Paralympics. You said there's no fix. So either accept that you'll never be the same, and adjust/adapt accordingly, or... I don't know what else. That's literally your only option, that I can see. Other than waiting around for the doctors to fix it.

My daughter is 1.5 yrs old. After I change her, she picks up the wipes, puts them where they go, puts the changing cloth away and throws the diaper away. When I change her clothes, she takes her dirty clothes and puts them in the hamper. She picks all her books up and stacks them on her book table. Puts her toys in the toy bin when I tell her. I could go on. My brother's daughter (3) is the same way. We sing the "clean up" song and she gets to work, no questions asked. There's no reason for a 6 …

Same here. Got laid off and was at home with the kid. EZPZ. Even now, I'm off every Friday so I give my wife (SAHM) those days "off" to get out the house and do whatever she wants. Been doing the same on Sundays since she started complaining like OP's wife (and apparently 90% of SAHMs). It's the easiest "job" ever. Would rather be playing with my kid and changing a few diapers than in 2 hour meetings, deadlines, etc. My wife comes home after I've been with the kid all day, and every time she's a…

And hence why working on ourselves works so well. When the man improves, women see his value, desire him, and want to show him off. "OMG grrrrrl... Look at my man! He's better than your man!" Women think they're the trophies, the arm candy. It's really us.

Testosterone does cause competitiveness. But they're really just wired that way in general it seems. Hypergamy, branch-swinging, a few of Rollo's Y1 articles, all these things came back to me when I heard him say that. It sums all that up perfectly. It's funny. I've got a garage gym now, and wife sees me busting ass in there. Has noticed my weight loss/muscle gain. Last week, she goes, "You know babe, I kind of want a home gym..." UMMM WTF DO YOU THINK THIS STUFF IS IN THE GARAGE???

Reminds me of something Patrice O'Neal said on BPS: "Women don't want to WIN, they want a WINNER." They're cheerleaders by nature. Content to sit on the sidelines and root for their man, until the Dread kicks in, at least... I think he used the metaphor of a marathon (fitting in this instance). She doesn't want to run it with you. She'd rather hand you a cup of water from the sideline, and be waiting for you at the finish line.

You haven't called anything like it is. All you've done is talk shit. Comments like yours give this sub a bad name. This is akin to going into a preschool and smacking kids around cause they can't write cursive. I clearly stated I need help. I'm no expert when it comes to this yet. I'm still learning. Which is why I reached out. I asked for advice from you directly and you still had none to offer. I don't know why you would frequent this sub unless it's just to talk down to people to make yourse…

You're absolutely right. She "wants to talk" tonight so that's what I'm gonna do when I get home. Whatever happens I'm fine either way. But I need to get to the root of the issue. It's been lingering too long. That's the only way it gets resolved.

This comment is GOLD. You nailed a lot of points, even shit I didn't mention. First off, the "What if it's not true?" Recently she said she didn't think my lifting would last. This was a day after one night where she was going to bed and I was walking to the backyard and she said, "Are you going to go lift?" And I noticed a slight tingle. WRT weight loss, I'm actually in a weight loss challenge at work. Cash prize. I'm hyper competitive as it is, and I'm currently in the top 3 of the standings e…

Thanks. Its so hard to find info cause, surprise, surprise, they all want you to pay for the consultation lol. I may have a case for equity. I've lived there for over half the time she's been there total and contributed money, supplies, appliances and labor. Thought it might be a loss. Thanks for that info, I'll look into it when I lawyer up.

If you've got some actionable advice, I'm all ears. Unless he's said everything you would say. Would especially like to hear about my fuck ups. I'm being honest here. I read posts and I say, "Wow, dude is fucking up." But I don't always see the same when looking at mine. It's all about perspective so I appreciate any comments.

Thanks man. I've been reading up on Dread in that thread, and over on A King's Castle. Great articles on Dread if you haven't checked em out. Will send a proper link once I get on a computer if you haven't. Didn't play into the silent treatment game. Just ignored it, or if I did speak act like everything was normal. Once she made it clear, "I'm not talking to you", and I gave her a kiss on the forehead and told her she's cute when she's mad. Otherwise, I went and lifted in the garage (she ended …

Yeah I pretty much AA'd. Was a conscious decision. Didn't say it like I was butthurt. Just said it sternly so she knew I meant business. Even joked about my moving out this weekend. But you're probably right, it was the wrong tool. We will see. First divorce, I pretty much got blindsided. This was pre-MRP, full Beta even though at the time I sensed things needed improving and starting working towards that. After she hit me with Separation, I basically let her walk all over me. Moved into the gue…

I've shut Separation talks down twice recently. Once 3 months ago. Once this weekend. She came back with it today saying she is filing for Separation so I said fuck it. Let's go the whole way. Seems the prevailing advice here is to take the Separation and stay at home, along w/ usual MRP advice. Seems like a BP move? Dead bedroom, I'm paying for almost everything still, and she swings branches in 6 mos. She has been looking for a job recently. Matter of fact, the BG Investigator lady for one job…

Thanks for the comment. WRT other men, there was a beta orbiter from her job when we were dating. I told her to shut it down and she did. During the journal snoop I snooped her phone and saw a conversation from him. She was on maternity leave and they were talking again, but no sex stuff. The company moved and he moved with it and that was around the time they stopped texting. Haven't checked her phone since finding MRP (no mate-guarding) and tbh don't care much cause if it happens (or happened)…

Thanks for the reply. I remember your post from a couple weeks back about the house work and her comfort tests. Experienced something similar when I took a whole Saturday to get some housework done. Mind sharing what happened in your situation? I take it she melted into your arms and y'all are still together based on your posts.

I'm definitely still a fat ass lol. Def a ways to go. Looong way. But not nearly as bad as when I was 230 and climbing. I was 155 in HS and that's pretty tiny to me, hence my desire to stay around 170. I'm no trainer but last I had it measured I was around 30% bf (a while ago). Probably approaching the 20s now. So I'm about 140 lbs muscle. Used a couple calculators, read some fitness books, etc. A ripped 170 is attainable, probably in another year. Just glad my lifts are going up still while my …

Thanks for the response. I actually laid out a plan. Gonna try to schedule lawyer visits this weekend. Have a place to stay and am making arrangements to get my stuff and move this weekend, unless someone comes up with a clever way that I can stay with the kid and she leaves her house. Plan to have papers drawn up ASAP. Some of my emergency fund is going toward the move so can't afford them right away unfortunately.
