A lot of factors killed the PUA movement. Here are just 4 of them: ONE - There was no qualification to become a pick up coach. Any guy could take a few pics with random women in clubs, upload them to a website, then call himself a coach and start charging thousands of dollars. Students had bad experiences with these fake teachers, so they left the community and told others to stay away. In other industries like accounting, it's regulated and a person needs at least 6 years to become qualified (3…

You can do a lot of hobbies without money or with only some money. Writing is free. Can learn a language for free from the internet. Becoming good at cooking is something that won't cost extra money if you already cook in home and even saves you money if you eat outside. You can borrow books from a library on topics you're interested in (history, economy, psychology, etc) and learn about that. You can make summary notes of what you learn so you can revise it later and better understand it. Playi…

You make an interesting point. Feelings of being worthy is definitely a big part of it. I'm sad to hear you think you are unworthy. I think you are very worthy and deserving of what makes you happy. I hope one day you realise that too. But it is hard to deal with negative thoughts in our head. A lot of people, both men and women feel unworthy. It's definitely not easy to overcome. Maybe the real secret to being good at connecting with others is feeling worthy. And feeling worthy might be the big…

Thanks for sharing your experience. Different things work for different people. Before I got into learning social skills, I joined a dance class for a few months. I was really dedicated to it, and when some women saw how committed I was to it, they would come up and talk to me, and a few even asked for my social media details. I have autism, and know a few guy friends who also have autism. One guy I know who has autism and struggles with talking, likes to do yoga, and also go for cooking classes…

It doesn't exist. Either you are interested or you're not interested. A woman you think looks 'perfect', might not even be noticed by another guy.

Living your life to the max would be focusing on your work, chasing your dreams, and doing something you can be proud to tell your grandchildren about. Approaching women on the streets isn't living life to the max, it's just wasting precious time. Keep in mind that 'dating coaches' have a financial incentive to convince others that cold approaching is more valuable than it really is. This is the only way they can sell their over-priced services and products. It reminds me of when I was in high s…

they are just people who get off on lying on the internet Yeah, a lot of guys like lying online so they can get validation from people on the internet. This makes it harder for new guys to learn what's useful. You're absolutely right it's all a numbers game. That's one of the most important lessons to internalize for this.

The men at the top still get rejected a lot. Paul Janka was a really good looking guy when he was in his twenties and used to do cold approaching, and he said 96% of women he approached rejected him. He's married now and out of the game, but Google pics of him or look up his videos on YouTube from back when he was in his twenties. He was good looking, and had skill and experience. Maybe guys at the top have a lower rejection rate than others, but they still get rejected a lot. I made my post so …

It sounds like cold approaching might not be your thing. Not everyone is meant to do cold approaching, despite what dating coaches trying to sell products say. One of my best friends from uni is good-looking and a natural extrovert, and he's really good at cold approaching. He does it all the time and gets great results. I'm the opposite. I have autism so can't read social cues properly, I'm considered ugly, and I'm also a foreigner in a Western country, which makes it harder. So to meet people,…

Different people are good at different things. Some are good at studies, others at social stuff, others at sports, etc. One of my friends was bad at everything in high school. But after high school, he discovered he was naturally good at fixing cars. He became a mechanic and focused obsessively on that. A few years later he was working at a nice place fixing cars. Interestingly when women saw how passionate he was about fixing cars and how good he was at it, they became interested in him. I pers…

Completely agree, that's such a great feeling! And the support and help you get is also incredibly valuable. Once I had a bad injury and couldn't move much or leave the house. But I had friends who bought my groceries and came to visit me. Having that support network and help is more than worth the initial effort it took to build that. Having a support network of friends is under-rated.

It's hard for me to say. There could be a variety of reasons. Maybe you just didn't connect with them and you're not meant to be friends with them. Or maybe you accidentally said the wrong thing. Or maybe it had nothing to do with her friends but she changed her mind about you for some other reason. Thinking and worrying too much about it is just going to make you feel bad. For me personally, I see every interaction as a learning experience. There are times when a woman rejects me, and I will te…

Maybe create a group event, like a picnic, or party at someone's house, or dinner at a restaurant. Think of a few topics of conversation that they might find interesting beforehand if you feel nervous about it. For instance if you met them at the gym, you can talk about fitness. Or check the news for any recent events or celebrity news that's interesting. Or ask their opinion on something. Or you can organize activities that don't require much conversation. Agreed, social circle game can be a lot of work at first. Especially when someone is learning how to build a social circle or join other circles. But once someone learns it and sets up social circles, they don't have to do much work to meet new people.

Yeah, creating new social circles isn't something many people do. It felt unusual to me when I first started doing it. It gets easier with practise, but the beginning is hard. Thanks for letting me know my post was helpful. I'm glad to hear it and it motivates me to write more.

Social Circle Game is also a skill anyone can learn. And when mastered can give lots of results for little time and effort. A right lifestyle will have women introducing you to their friends, so you can spend your time doing other things. Or just make excuses.

I did step out of my comfort zone and cold approach, but it didn't work for me. I got a lot better results from social hobbies and social circle for much less effort. So decided to dedicate my game time to that and become really good at what I'm talented at. But I'm aware that for some guys cold approach works a lot better for them. And they should keep doing that if it works for them. Rather than struggling with what someone isn't naturally good at, why not work on improving what someone is goo…

So how in the world would that ever disappear? Back in 2007, there were Lairs in every city, lots of forums and websites, plenty of dating coach companies, and lots of guys knew about PUA. Fast forward to today, most Lairs are shut down or hardly active, most of the forums and websites have disappeared, all the big dating coaching companies are gone, and the new generation of men don't know what PUA is. Based on what I've observed, it seems like it's disappearing.
/r/seduction20/07/21 06:57 AM
3

This is just my two cents, so feel free to ignore it. But I feel some of the literature in PUA, like Mystery Method and The Game was about treating women like objects, trying to get every women to like you, and trying to get an identity as a player for self esteem. I feel this is an unhealthy mindset. I also think the PUA world is dying and will disappear soon. Most of the PU companies have closed down, YouTube removed several channels and those channels that remain are shown less by Youtube, an…

PUA = Dodgy marketers selling expensive courses which won't help you much. A lot of what they teach will actually make you worse. People eventually figured out those guys were scams and avoided them. It's why the PUA industry is dying and not many people talk of them anymore.

I think maybe it's to give context, so people better understand their advice or question. For instance, a guy who works out a lot and looks good will do better in certain situations of meeting women. He may find cold approaching or nightclubs gives him great results, and write about this. Someone who doesn't work out may then follow this advice to do cold approaching and nightclubs, and get bad results. He may then be confused or upset. But if the original poster says he works out a lot, then pe…

-Read the book Models by Mark Manson. If you want more books to read, check out 3% Man by Corey Wayne, Way of the Superior Man by David Deida, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. -Go out and practise talking to people a lot. Improving social skills is like learning martial arts. The only way to become good at is by practising a lot, not by reading too much. -Don't buy PUA courses. They are overpriced, and don't teach much. -Make friends with guys who are good with women, an…

Hey, thanks for your comment. I think there's a difference. With football you can get better at it by putting in more effort. But seduction is one of those activities where if you try too hard, you do worse. There's a point of diminishing returns for your efforts after a while in seduction. At least that has been my experience with it. I agree just working on ourselves might not be enough, and there may need to be time dedicated to learn communication skills. But my problem is when this is made …

I'm just going to address the first point here. A lot of what happened in The Game was basically fake or massively exaggerated. It was a marketing trick. The author used it to get plenty of men to buy his course after they read it. He had a really big financial motivation to lie. Unfortunately a lot of men at the time with no experience believed it was real, and developed toxic beliefs that made this journey a lot harder for them. Thankfully most guys of the new generation don't waste their time…

I've heard others say the same, that RSD these days teach a lot of inner game mumbo jumbo that doesn't get good results, and that 2012 or so was their peak. Then they just kept making weird products to earn money. So it was confirmation and helpful for me to hear that from you too. In all your time in the game, have you found any guru, method, or ebook that made you better, or were they all unhelpful?

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It's very helpful. For most of the time I did pickup, I was deep into RSD and all their backshot air promises of "identity level change." Kept waiting, waiting, waiting, for the other shoe to drop. Five years in, and why is everyone still so fucking mean to me? Why do I still have to fight so hard for every little crumb of pussy I get? Aren't I supposed to be ALPHA? So are you saying that after 5 years of following RSD philosophy of doing lots of co…

Very insightful post. However, often times the superficial need for validation from others is a band-aid, where deeper level self-improvement and self-acceptance is needed. This is so true! I didn't realise this for a long time, that the reason I was obsessed with external validation was because deep down I didn't accept and like myself. But the more I learnt to like myself, the less I needed external validation, and the less I cared what others thought of me. Ironically this caused people to li…

I didn't overcome it, but I did reduce it by accepting rejection is inevitable and is a good thing. I have the mindset that when I show the real me, most people will reject me, but that is good, as I screen out the people who are not fit for my life. A dating coach in my city who has been studying Game since 2004 and met a lot of guys, told me even the best guys can only get 1 or 2 out of every 10 women to like them. He pointed out that out of every 10 women you meet, half of them will be in rel…

I think writing out posts based on what others say is something people do to better internalise and understand a concept. I've noticed a pattern where a lot of guys who first join the community write and post a lot. Then as they go out and take action, they understand things better. They gain more experience. Then one day they reach a level where they know enough to get the success they want. Then they leave the community. So I feel people writing out these posts based on other people's posts is…

Look in the mirror, and try to gently raise the corner of your eyes using the muscles there. It should look like you're smiling with your eyes. Or try smiling a lot till the smile reached your eyes, to see how your eyes look when smiling like that, then try to just do that with your eyes. That's what works for me, but if that doesn't work for you, then maybe you need to try another way to smile with your eyes. Try YouTube or Google it for other ways. Hey buddy, I think I might had something similar. I've met women who used me to boost their ego. I have autism, and am also a foreigner living in a Western country. I was at the bottom of the social ladder for a long time. And I would meet women who pretended to be interested in me, lead me on, then reject me just to boost their ego. It hurt. Don't cheat on your wife. That's the wrong thing to do. Stay loyal to her. If you have too much time or are bored, get a hobby, or try to find your purpose in life, or do something to help others. Or maybe work on your self-esteem. Something tells me maybe you want to cheat on your wife because you feel empty inside, and think having another sexual partner will fill the hole and complete you. It won't. Other people can't complete you. Do one of the steps I suggested above, or look deep within to…

I think Models was the last good book. It was the opposite of Game and Mystery Method, and became the textbook of the new seduction community. After Models, there was no big new discovery or technology in this area. Some people like '3% Man' by Corey Wayne, or 'As You Are' by Nick Sparks, but I personally don't think they're as good as Models. Thanks for your answer. So is it a mindset thing? Do you mean you just tell yourself to "look into their soul" when looking into her eyes? Sorry for the question, I really want to understand this.

What do you mean by deep into their soul contact? Like stare deeply into one of their eyes? I'm genuinely curious about how you do this, as I've noticed sometimes when a woman is talking, if I stare deeply into one eye, it can cause them to talk more and be more engaged. So am curious about how you do it, as you might be on to something.

TALK OF EMOTIONS AND MOTIVATIONS There are 3 levels for a Topic. Facts = This is the surface level. Eg. "I spent 6 weeks in Brazil." Emotion = How you felt about it, and bonus points if you talk of WHY you felt that. "Brazil was a fun and enjoyable place because the food was amazing, and I got to play soccer with the locals. They were very friendly." Motivation = The reason you went to Brazil. "I went to Brazil because growing up I watched soccer a lot, and they were always in the finals of the …

Great post! Especially points 1 and 6, on working hard to achieve goals and not playing games. I feel the reason some guys like to play games is because it's easier than working hard. But playing games doesn't give good results. When a guy puts in the effort to improve himself, he doesn't need to play games. This was a nice post to read.

Models by Mark Manson. This is the best book on dating in my opinion. Way of the Superior Man by David Deida. This book has to be read a few times to be understood, but gives a lot of good insights. It's less about social skills, but more about deeper level stuff. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. This book taught me to be interested in others and be a good listener. It also has other good tips. I found these 3 books very helpful.

The only thing spending $100 on a guide like that will teach you is not to waste money on rubbish like that. Those guides are just fancy marketing by guys who spent years learning how to trick others into feeling they need to buy. Stay away from it.

Agree with this. A lot of guys do this stuff naturally. When I joined a gym, my posture improved automatically. But according to PUA this is a 'secret way to convey you are alpha'. When I learnt to be happy with myself, I automatically smiled with my eyes. Which is something PUA tell guys to remember to do. But when you're happy, you don't have to remember to do it, it happens as a side effect. The high level stuff is also natural. Triangle gazing is considered an advanced tactic, and it's when …

Thanks for your answer. :) Yeah, I meant like regularly approaching every day. Good to know it will take just a few months. Haha, true, our definition of intermediate may be different. I mean the average guy who sticks at this for 2 to 4 years approaching and doing online dating regularly. Not keyboard jockeying for 2 to 4 years. You gave me a great answer, and confirmed something I had been thinking about. Thanks for that. I appreciate it. :)

Great post! I always like reading what you write Manwhore. It's very insightful. I have 2 questions If an intermediate guy with 2 to 4 years experience were to take a 1 year break, then got back into Game, would he have fallen really far back, or could he catch up to his previous level in a few months? If someone became really good at this, like some of the top guys, do they still have to keep doing this regularly to maintain their skill?

I've been thinking a lot about this as well. I have a friend who works as an accountant, and he normally has work 50 to 60 hours a week. Add in travel time, grocery shopping, laundry, exercise, etc, and he has very little time left over. He said he can only meet people through social hobbies that let him exercise at the same time, like running groups, tennis, etc, as there just isn't enough time in his schedule. Daygame can be useful for some people, but I definitely agree it's not for everyone.

What do you mean by basis? My university counsellor told me she thought I might have autism. So I then went to see a psychologist who specialized in autism diagnosis. She said some of the indications I had autism were: When I was a child I started speaking at an older age than other children, and also liked lining toys up in a straight line. I do stick to a routine when eating food. As in I tend to stick to the same food on the menu. The waiters at my favourite restaurants already know what I want to order before I even sit down, lol. But I think that's because I like routine. I wouldn't say I'm overly fussy, as if I go to a friend's house for dinner, I will eat whatever they make. I have lots of trouble paying attention in class. I'm not an expert on the Hero's Journey. But from what I gather, you need Mentors, the Mindset to see Challenges as a good thing you can grow from, a Mission you feel strongly about, and the Desire to give back to the world. For me, my Mission is to write books that teach people how to be more Productive. Agreed. Jeff Bezos used to work at McDonald's. Now he's one of the richest men in the world and built Amazon. It's not where you are today that counts. It's how hard you work with what you have that counts. Edit: This was to inspire people and show that it's possible to work your way up. Not everyone can hit Jeff Bezos level, but we can try to improve ourselves and not give up. Your past does not equal your future, you can change and improve.

I don't think you should read the book. The techniques weren't useful. The only good lesson I got from the book was it showed how guys who made picking up women the only thing they do and their identity, ended up going into depression or having mental breakdowns. Use negs and DHV's is bad advice. You shouldn't use them, bc by using them, you train your mind to think that the girl is above you and you're not good enough as you are for her. It lowers your self-esteem. And the lower your confidence, the less attractive you are. I didn't come up with this. An old school dating coach by the name of Vin Di Carlo who taught natural game, said this when telling people why they shouldn't use negs or DHV'S. I personally agree with his logic.

In today's world with meet up groups, social media, online dating and friendship apps, there are better ways. It's also easy to run social circle game and keep in contact with old friends these days with social media. I feel in the 90's cold approach might have made sense. Now it doesn't. Sometimes our mind has a tendency to think we know more than we do. And the accompanying belief is "This must be hard, because I had to learn a lot to get results." You need to see girls as human beings first. That means respecting them, having empathy towards them, and trying to understand their thoughts and feelings. That also means not seeing them as 'bitches'. They are human beings. See them as humans, and treat them like humans. A guy who respects girls and sees them as humans will communicate with them differently through the words he use, and also give off a different energy which girls pick up on. This guy will get much better results.

I think it takes men a long time to learn because lack of confidence so feel the need to impress. And also possibly lack of conversation skills. I see the right guy friends as being able to provide emotional support, and be people to spend time with so you're not as needy on girl. It's a bonus if your guy friends are better with girls than you so you can learn from them, but it's not a necessary qualification for them to be your guy friend. I think a lot of guys look for women to be validation. I think it has to do with the way some elements of society and media portray women. As well as other guys talking about women in that manner. It takes a lot of self-esteem to not want to impress others, and empathy towards women, to escape this validation trap. It's not easy, but if you can do it, you will connect with women a lot better and become more of a 'natural'. I used to be like that when I was younger, especially bc I had the wrong …

That's interesting you mentioned autistic convo overlaps. I have heard that autistic men can be more likely to fall victim to dodgy marketers. That's something that makes me feel sad and I think is unfair.

I personally think you will find Models more useful. It's not manipulative and it's based on honesty, embracing rejection, and not using girls for validation. That's very deep, that the best lessons are in the painful part, which most people run from or avoid. It's great you're trying to write a book. Yeah, I think they have a word for that, "survivorship bias", where we only notice the statistics of those who succeed, but aren't aware of those who didn't make it. There are unfortunately a lot of people who work hard and don't make it. But nobody talks about that. Luck and the circumstances we're born under plays a big role, but not everybody wants to accept that. I have autism, which gives me a lot of challenges. Despite all my planning and hard work I still fail. I try to be positive, but t…

Great post! Especially what you said that a lot of problems pick-up try to fix will melt away when you do this. I agree with that completely. The 3 biggest factors in attraction, and which pick-up tries to fix are: confidence, not being needy, and conversation. But ironically pick-up can sometimes make you worse at these, whereas following your purpose can fix these. When you're chasing your mission you will be more confident. But when you become obsessed with pick up, your identity becomes more…

Ironically, that very attitude they are trying to fake is a natural byproduct of making your life revolve around yourself and being your own source of happiness and joy. Yeah! I think they observed naturals (who were guys who were happy with themselves and didn't need girls), and copied the external behaviour of naturals. But they didn't pay attention to what caused the naturals to automatically demonstrate those behaviours. Which is why the PUA's ultimately failed. They never did the hard work …

Think about how her husband will feel. He can go into depression or commit suicide if something happens between you and his wife. Some men are really attached to their wives. I once met a guy who attempted suicide because his wife cheated on him. Thankfully he survived, but he has some permanent scars on his body from his failed suicide attempt. What if the husband of the woman you like kills himself because of what you do? My next sentence might sound mean, but I want you to realize I'm only sa…

No, you should not approach a married woman. Have some empathy. There are guys who commit suicide because their wives cheat on them. Never go after married woman. Stay away from them. In a worst case scenario you can ruin a family, cause children to grow up in a broken home and have terrible future, and drive a husband to suicide. Please do not approach married women. You're better than that.

Very powerful post! This is the type of stuff I like to read. It's about working hard over a long period of time to make something of yourself, so you're happy and have something to show for your time on this planet. This is the truth of what attracts girls. It's not about using tricks or trying to find a short-cut or magic pill. It's about putting in the hours of work on a consistent basis. Thanks for posting this.

Completely true! I've noticed a lot of guys who struggle with women have made thinking about women the number one priority in their life. They give off a desperate vibe that causes them to struggle more. All the guys I know who are good at this have other things they focus on. They don't need women to be happy, and this causes women to chase them.

That would be a terrible feeling to have someone use you like that and exploit your caring nature. It would hurt a lot for them to do that, then discard you when they were done. It's like they don't see you as a human being, but just an object for them to use. It's a valid concern you have. Unfortunately you're right, these bad guys target the weak and vulnerable. If he lives in his mom's basement but is good with girls, then I have nothing against him giving advice on girls. Communication between man and woman can be complicated and not always clear. And it's definitely not easy to find a genuine person who we can connect with. I think the younger generation might find it goes against social norms to have strangers talking to them as it doesn't happen often. There are 2 reasons for this: The first reason is social media like Facebook, Instagram, etc, makes it easier to keep in contact with friends, so there's less need to meet new people to refill the number of people in your social circle. Whereas before social media you had more reason to meet new people, because it was a lot easier to lose contact with friends. Most…

There are 2 types of guys who 'seduce' girls: Group 1 = Men with low self-esteem who use tricks, try to lower a girl's self-esteem, and do other negative stuff. Some them see women as objects to use to impress others, as they lack true confidence. Some of them are also terrified of rejection, so they tell lies to avoid it. But telling lies to gain acceptance just further lowers their self-esteem, which creates a downward spiral for them. These were the guys who read and follow "The Game" by Neil…

I actually think what you wrote in the last paragraph is related to this sub. You met a guy you got along with, and can hopefully make a new guy friend. I think in seduction there are things that directly improve your skills, such as approaching girls, practise conversation with them, etc. Then there are things that indirectly improve your skills. Like having goals more important than girls makes you less needy on girls for happiness, and more passionate about life. This causes you to give off a…

You make a good point. I feel it's not just this sub but other places as well, like YouTube videos, websites, etc, where dating is made to appear more complicated than it really is. I've seen videos of dating coaches plotting graphs and drawing complex tables to explain their points. You would think they were solving quantum maths equations or working on rocket science. I don't trust courses in this industry. There's no independent organisation to check them, and a lot of courses by dating companies have a reputation for being dodgy and overpriced. I think you can learn more from a few reliable books that you read a few times for their knowledge to sink in, combined with lots of practise. A few books that helped me: Models by Mark Manson. No More Mr Nice Guy by Robert Glover. Way Of The Superior Man by David Deida. 3% Man by Corey Wayne.

That's awesome to hear you have girls approach you! It sounds to me like you need to find a way to become less shy. That's very true. The guys who focus on improving themselves will automatically do a lot better. I'm actually glad the community is moving towards focusing on self-help and improving oneself, and attracting girls is a side effect of living an awesome life. From what I understand they left the pick up and dating industry. They now teach general self-help and other stuff. If a guy is always talking about girls like they are objects, or he's trying to convince others he is a player, or if in a conversation with him he keeps bringing the conversation back to girls. "We don't talk with girls in the street. In a party or a club, it all happens naturally. If you're an attractive guy, you'll get girls. It's that simple." That sums up pick-up. Game and techniques mean nothing. A guy who's attractive doesn't need them. That is so true! I've often thought about how Hollywood and stories give the false idea that it should just be a man and a woman against the world. And that just leads to problems for anyone who follows that. It should be the man and his group or tribe of friends, along with the woman and her tribe of friends, who face the world. We humans are tribal creatures. We survive best when we're part of a tribe.

I don't know if there is. I personally think the problem with online forums is that anyone can pretend to be an expert. So there will be people who want validation, and pretend to be experts, when they have no idea what they're saying. Then they get a bunch of upvotes, which boosts their self-esteem, so they continue posting more nonsense. Whereas a lot of guys who are good at this would rather be out there picking up girls instead of arguing with keyboard warriors. I'm not saying all experience…

That's very good advice! Working on yourself, exercising, having a healthy way to deal with problems such as therapy or meditation all make a person more attractive than anything else can. But unfortunately a lot of guys don't want to hear this. They prefer the lie of learning lines in 5 minutes so they can avoid the hard work. And PUAs and marketers take advantage of this. I like how you focus on self-care to attract guys. That's very healthy, and by doing that you also feel good whether you ha…

That must have been a really unexpected feeling to have him use those lines you watched. Glad you got out of there. Thanks for sharing your story. I agree it definitely seems to be all about targeting desperate or gullible guys. It misleads them and sends them on the wrong path. I've met guys who wasted years learning lines and tricks and are still miserable and lonely. Whereas they could have invested all that time into their career, or finding what makes them happy, or improving themselves.

When I say 'The Game', I mean that book written by Neil Strauss, where he teaches PUA tactics which are bad in my opinion. If you mean guys should learn charisma, and healthy social skills (like what Manson wrote in his book Models), then I completely agree with you.
/r/seduction16/02/21 08:58 AM

Depends what your definition of 'PUA' is. If you mean social skills, then it's good. But if you mean what they teach in 'The Game' or those selling weird products on 'magic words to get girls', etc, then I personally think it's not good. The chapter on social skills that Mark Manson teaches in his book Models is the type of healthy social skills I think guys should learn. It's based on honesty, and just teaches guys how to have better conversations and make jokes while being themselves.

PUAs still exist, although not as much before. I spent some time searching 'dating coaches' on YouTube, and now I get ads trying to sell me programs to "get girls to approach you" and "7 magic words for girls to fall madly in love with you". Those dodgy marketers are still there. I think OP is trying to warn those new to this to not just focus on charisma (social skills), but also their career. I get what you're saying, that not all coaches are bad. Some formulas are more effective, but there ar…

When someone has better things to do than chase people, then they become more attractive. I have a rule where I always place my purpose and work ahead of partying and meeting new people. Socialislzing is only something I do to relax after working hard, it's never my number one aim in life.

These dating coaches take advantage of the fact there is a low barrier to enter this profession. All they need is a website and a few pics of themselves with women, and they're then 'qualified' to be a dating coach. In other industries it's a lot harder. If you want to be a good accountant, you have to spend 3 or more years at university to get an accounting degree, then spend another 3 years to complete your CPA or CA while getting work experience. You need at least 6 years of hard work. And th…

I personally think it's not worth it. You can get the information for free from YouTube, websites or forums. Or pay a few dollars for good books. I think if a guy puts in the effort to find 2 or 3 other guys he can go out with and they help and motivate each other over a few months, this will be more useful than a few days with a 'coach' telling him to go and approach.

It stands for Pick Up Artists, which was meant to be a movement to teach men to connect with women. Unfortunately it has a lot of fake gurus and teachers with no moral principles, and there is a lot of toxic stuff in PUA. It has a really bad reputation at the moment in society and the media. It's dying, and may possibly become an underground movement in 3 to 5 years, if not sooner. It's not worth joining this negative movement and men should stay away from it. If there are two men who are equally attractive and have the same level of social skills, but one sees women as human beings and the other sees women as objects, then the man who sees them as humans will have much better results than the man who sees them as objects.

The dating niche isn't a solid stream of income for several reasons: 1) A guy can work hard to be successful and find a partner without having any dating skills. I've met plenty of guys with little or no social skills, but they have a good career, or good physique, and because of that have found a partner as a side-effect of focusing on themselves. Despite what the 'PUA' say to sell things, the truth is learning dating skills are optional, not mandatory. Whereas learning how to look after health…

Don't seduce a woman in a relationship. Have some kindness and empathy, don't hurt the guy she's in a relationship with. If you succeed in seducing her, even if the other guy doesn't find out, it will still make her less attracted to him. You will damage their relationship. There are plenty of single girls you can seduce. Don't go after girls in relationships.

Don't use negging, that's mean and it doesn't give results. Don't read books that teaches you to use tricks like that, or to try to lower another person's self-esteem. The best book to read is Models by Mark Manson. It teaches to be honest and genuine to connect with others. It's a healthier and more effective way.

It is, in a way, your foundation. Before learning about all of the seduction “tricks”, you first need to ask yourself if you are proud of who you are as a person. This is so wise and true. I've been thinking a lot about this recently. That a lot of guys who struggle with seduction don't have this foundation of self-esteem and not needing girl. If a guy can develop himself and his lifestyle to be confident and happy without girl, all of a sudden seduction becomes a lot easier. In some cases, he w…

I think self-improvement is the best thing a person can do to become better at social skills or seduction. When you are focused on improving yourself, you become: 1) Less needy on girls or people because your time and emotions are invested in self-improvement activities. 2) More confident because you see yourself improving. 3) Better conversation skills because you are doing more things and have more to talk about. 4) You have purpose and direction, which is attractive to girls. Some guys are like that. But some guys get into this, and realize they want something different. They realize it's not right to judge a girl by the way she looks. My thoughts do contradict traditional PUA advice. I don't believe in giving girls a rating on a scale of 1 to 10 based on their physical appearance. Look for what is inside the girl. Write down the qualities you want in a girl. Maybe you want a girl with a sense of humor, or who is hard-working, etc. You can write a list of hobbies/interests you would like a girl to have, maybe you want a girl who likes travelling, or who likes reading, or enjoys being outdoors in nature, etc. Next time you see a 'hot' girl, realize that you are only nervous in front of her bc you assigned her a lot of value. Thanks for the comprehensive answer. :) So based on what you observed in your experience and from what you said in the earlier post about RSD Max videos you watched, an effective strategy is game (make jokes, ask emotionally interesting questions, etc) to get in, then once a guy is in and has the girl's attention, it's just normal conversation so he doesn't look like he's trying too hard or is a robot? I'm not a fan of courses for dating or PU. I think most of them are just marketers trying to make money. I also found 'Way of the Superior Man' by David Deida useful. The main lesson I got from that book was that a girl will be attracted to a man who has a bigger purpose in his life than girls.

Thanks for your answer. I'm glad to hear others have noticed this as well. So when you say it's the reverse, you mean now you have noticed when you talk about topics like computers, cryptocurrency, and history, girls are interested because you are passionate about it? Even if you talk to girls who are not interested in the topic, but they like listening because of your passion? Sorry for bothering you with those questions, but this is a new epiphany for me, and I'm looking for more evidence and …

That's awesome to hear you want to be a DJ! I hope you succeed. That will be a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad to hear others have also noticed this. So just to clarify, you noticed the less needy you were (which came from thinking less about girls), and the more excited you were for your Passion, the more girls liked you as well? Were there also girls who were not interested in the activity of DJing, but liked you more because now you had something that made you excited…

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your answer, I appreciate it. I'm a fiction writer, so both actually feels natural for me. I actually like setting myself the challenge of thinking of metaphors and interesting ways to describe things when ever I'm on the bus, etc. Since both are the same for me, which should I lean towards? Would most guys just say "I entered his office", or "I stepped out of the building", without giving that extra detail like hot? And if I give another extra deta…

Great post! Thanks for sharing your experience and perspective. So if I were to say: "I entered his office, it was hot like a sauna." Or "I stepped out of the building into the sun, and it felt like standing near a volcano." Is that better than saying: "I entered his office that was hot." Or "I stepped out of the building into the heat." Would adding the metaphors like in the first examples make it more interesting to a girl?

Thank you for taking the time to give me your answer. So it's about being dedicated to the passion and taking lots of action on it, and then having results to show for it. Even if the results are not considered "successful", the results are still attractive as they are evidence the guy has the passion for it. Like a guy passionate about singing dedicates a few years to make 40 songs. And even if he only sells a few copies of his songs, it's still attractive because it proves he was passionate an…

Thank you for taking the time to write this post. I find it very helpful. I do have a few questions. With having a passion, is it still attractive even if the girl is not interested in what the guy is passionate about? For instance, if a guy is passionate about gardening, but the girl is not interested in the actual activity of gardening, would it still be attractive for her that the guy has something he is passionate about? If yes, and if you feel comfortable, can you please give example of som…

It's not being emotionally detached, it's being "less emotionally invested" in her. You still get emotionally invested in her, but not as much as before, and she has to earn it (either by having the right personality, putting effort into the relationship with you, etc). There are men who decide to follow the spiritual path and stay virgins their whole life. Some men even join a monastery and stay there for the rest of their life. There's nothing wrong with being a virgin. A guy who is a virgin shouldn't be so hard on himself, that just makes things more difficult. I once met a guy who was a virgin till he was 34, but then he learnt how to talk to girls and built a lifestyle that was attractive to girls. He eventually lost his virginity, and is happy with that a…

This is a brief guide of what I do to make friends, There are 3 important things I do. I call them the 3 IN's. They are: -INterest. Be interested in people. As in you want to learn more about them, and accept them without judging them (when a person senses you are judging them, they close up and won't like you as much). Basically you should do more listening than talking. Ask open-ended questions, and really listen to what they say. Imagine what they are saying is the most important thing at tha…

Don't let others with wrong values stop you from walking the righteous path. It can be hard at times, but we just need to remind ourselves that being Kind is more important. The close guy friends are for emotional support to make the man less needy on the girl for emotional support. It helps his game indirectly. A man can have close guy friends, and also go to the bar with 2 girls if that will make him happy. It's not either-or, a man can do both, have close guy friends and female friends.

I mean a lot of people who get into this tend to read as many books as possible, but never practise it. They spend a lot of time debating which is the best way, when like martial arts, different styles work for different people. A common occurrence I've noticed is guys reading a lot and getting attached to theory, but having no practise. When the correct way is to read a little, not get attached to the knowledge, and practise a lot.

I've heard plenty of bad things about RSD as well. Apparently they charge a lot for their bootcamps and products but don't deliver much value. I've also heard stories about how when people use their credit card to buy things from RSD, they get charged a few extra hundred dollars. I saw in a video by James Marshall that Liam has gone off to find himself and do something else, because he's been teaching this for the last 10 years, a really long time. Which does make sense, because most of these gurus quit after 4 or 5 years. Every few years there's always a new group of teachers, and most of the old ones disappeared. I'm not an expert on this, but I define inner game in relation to women as being: confident, relaxed, and not desperate/needy. I personally think the best way to develop this is to have more important aims in one's life than girls, being happy without girls, and having a supportive group of guy friends. No. I'm saying guys should think about having a group of close guy friends, or brothers, or a soul tribe. Gangs isn't the only place to find male friendships. You can find it in football clubs, classes, social hobbies, meet-up groups, etc. Find the guys with the right values you connect with, then build a friendship with them. I'm not very good at writing, so what I say is sometimes messy, lol. If I were to write these paragraphs below to explain it, would it make more sense in addition to the post I wrote? Here is an explanation I've been working on: It's not about replacing the romantic relationship with the wife, that can stay the same. But it's about transforming the platonic relationship of male friends to being like the relationship of brothers. A guy might only see his brother once a month, but he sees himself …

Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts. This isn't about ignoring the wife. It's just about having guy friends for emotional support. A man can still have his wife to do for him what his guy friends can't do. But in addition, he will also have his guy friends to give him help and support that his wife can't. If the couple are in trouble, and the man has a group of guy friends to help them, it will make things easier. The end goal of dating should be to find a lifelong mate. Unfortunately in the c…

Yeah, I don't understand why soul mates have to be romantically or sexually attracted to each other. If a man has a best friend who he's been close to for years, or decades, that best friend can be classifed as a soul mate in my books. I've been close to my 3 best friends for just over 20 years, and there is no romantic or sexual attraction between us, but I consider them my soul mates.

Emotionally the guy becomes close to other guys, but not sexually. I also don't think there is anything wrong with a man being gay. It doesn't work that way. Your soul tribe is there to give you emotional support, and help you when you're in trouble. This helps the relationship with the girl because: - It makes the guy less needy on the girl, which is attractive to her. - He doesn't burden her with his problems as he tell his guy friends about it. - If the couple are in trouble and need help, the guy's soul tribe will help them. Which the girl will be thankful for.

"Male tribe can only feed you logical stuff and almost negligible emotional support. Then you will starve from emotional feeds." I personally think it depends on the tribe. The right guys can be good listeners with a lot of empathy. Some women complain about how their partners depend on them emotionally to listen to all their problems. This is a way of dealing with this. But different things work for different people. This is just one way. If it doesn't work for you then feel free to ignore it.

I personally believe the group of close friends, or soul tribe, for the man is made up of only other men. As in a guy will have a few guy friends he is closer to than his wife/girlfriend. But his wife/girlfriend is still important to him, and she is more important to him than any other girl. He is always closer to her than to any other girl. So I hope people don't misunderstand what I am saying or where I am going with this.

That's great you had a group of guys to support you. I've had a different experience to what you had. A few of my close guy friends got married, but we still have group catch ups once a month for dinner. For them it's a chance to get away from the wife and kids for a while. And it's a great time for us to check up on each other's problems. I personally found when I didn't have any close guy friends, I did worse in my relationships. But when I did get a group of close guy friends, I was better in…

I didn't say all assumptions or beliefs weren't true. I merely question the assumptions that we can only depend on 1 person and that person has to be a girl. I try to replace it with new assumptions I have made which based on my experience are more valid, and which can lead to better choices. I've been in a relationship with a girl who wanted to be my number one priority over my guy friends and that went badly. And I've been in a relationship with a girl who encouraged me to catch up with my guy…

I personally think the community is moving away from cold approaching. Some reasons for this are: the rise of Tinder, the metoo movement, the recent BBC documentary, and YouTube taking down lots of channels and videos on cold approaching, means it will be done less and less. I'm not saying it will stop completely, there will always be guys doing it. But not as many as before. Whether this is good or bad depends on perspective. Some say it's the best thing to happen, others say it's the worst. I …

Some people become obsessed trying to have a lot of friends, and they make friends with people they end up regretting later. Much better to invest the limited time and energy we have into those few people who appreciate and deserve it.
/r/seduction23/03/20 12:52 AM

Completely agree! There's just not enough time for that. And it's also hard to find genuine, reliable friends.
/r/seduction23/03/20 12:48 AM

I've been through the exact same thing! I used to be popular with a ton of friends. But then some bad stuff happened, I went into depression, and a lot of my 'friends' disappeared. Now I'm a lot more selective of who I let into my life. Only a few people have my trust and my time.
/r/seduction23/03/20 12:47 AM

That makes a lot of sense. Three real close friends are hard to find, and very valuable. They are worth way more than having a lot of fake friends who disappear when times are tough.

Yeah, desperation chases girls away faster than anything else. Guys that aren't desperate and don't need girls to be happy are the ones who have the best results with girls. But a lot of guys don't realize this.

I didn't mean it as having them as wing girls. But I meant when I had no female friends I wasn't good at cold approaching. But then when I made female friends, and would go out cold approaching by myself (without them), I did a lot better. Something about having female friends and other ways to meet girls made me do a lot better at cold approaching than when I just relied on only cold approaching to meet girls and had no female friends in my life. I do salsa dancing and beach volleyball. But I do these because I enjoy these hobbies and not just to meet girls. Some guys join a social hobby just to meet girls, and they give of a different energy which causes girls to avoid them. But if a guy can find a social hobby he enjoys and is passionate about, and the hobby is more important to him than meeting girls, then the girls will be interested in getting to know him. Yeah, I think cold approaching was useful back in the early to late 2000's, before dating apps, meet-up websites, social media, etc came up about. But now it's not the best option. It's one reason why the PU community with its emphasis on cold approaching isn't as big as it used to be. I got into Game a long time, and have a job with a long lunch break, so sometimes I pass the time with cold approaching, mostly just out of habit. But it definitely does give a lot less results for the amount of t…

Thanks for your explanation. In order for these moments to happen, where things click and you learn something, should the approaches be spread out, so a person can reflect on it and absorb the lessons? As in should a person approach 10 or 20 girls a week to reach that 1000+, or could he cram that 1000+ approaches into a few months?

I didn't mean to offend anyone with my comment. In my experience I didn't see great results with cold approaching. It took me a long time to find the system I have now that gives me personally better results, and I wish someone had told me this earlier. "Cold approach is just a skill, not a lifestyle. It's a skill used to help build your social life. Hobbies can also be used to build a social life." I find this an interesting perspective. Some PUA gurus talk of how cold approaching is the only way to meet girls, and I bought into that myth. And I noticed when I relied 100% on cold approaching to meet girls, I did worse on my cold approaches. A few months ago I stopped doing cold approaches and relied only on warm approaches. Completely agree with this. I've stopped wasting time on developing my cold approach skills, and invest that time into learning how to build and maintain social groups instead. I also dedicate a lot of time into my two social hobbies of volleyball and salsa dancing. I'm a much better volleyball player and dancer now after dedicating these last few months to them. I've never tried Tinder, but I might make the switch to that now and start studying Tinder game. It seems a lot safer. Thanks for the suggestion. "If you were a business owner would you want to be known as "the place where PUAs come to practice hitting on girls?" That would potentially drive away half your customers" This is a really good point. 👍🏼 Just to be on the safe side from now on, I'm going to rethink and be careful about where I approach girls. I might even cut back on approaching and focus more on social circle game.

These guys were asking girls what book they liked, which seemed like a safe opener to me. Granted I don't know what their body language and vibe was like, but I don't think they were being creepy. I think they were just talking and got in trouble. The bookstore also said it discouraged men giving attention to girls. It seemed that in that bookstore they are now against men talking to girls.

Completely agree! Seeing others do it is the best way to learn. The new guys to the community trying to learn by experimenting are going to find it a lot, lot harder, and more traumatic. They are going to be more likely to give up. Yeah, that BBC documentary and other stuff by the media really distorted everyone's perception of this. I was speaking to a guy I met recently who was struggling with social situations and talking to girls. And when I suggested he look into this community, he freaked …

Lol, it's so true. There's no standard or regulatory body, so anyone can set up a website with 'testimonials' and profit of others. I think that's one of the reasons the PU community got such a bad reputation and confused so many people. For every 1 decent guru, there are 20 other dodgy ones just looking to make a quick buck and teaching absolute rubbish. A healthy amount of skepticism is definitely needed when looking at both dating coaches and life coaches.

I think it might have to do with the rise of social media and dating apps. I feel that girls now, the new generation especially, are used to meeting guys through dating apps and social media, and look for guys there. So that might be why there is the culture shift. I do know a lot of bars and nightclubs have been closing down because less people go there these days. The way to meet people is changing, and we're caught in the middle of this shift.

In my experience with cold approaching, I get rejected a lot, and have very few of them go on dates with me. And most of those girls I do go out on dates from cold approach I don't have anything in common with. I've had much better luck meeting girls from meet-ups. I once went to a writing group where I number closed a pretty blonde girl in less than 10 minutes (this had nothing to do with my 'social skills', but just that we were both passionate about writing). I've been Mr Game for years. And that's why now I'm struggling to stop. But I need to, bc it's not normal for a guy in a committed relationship to be opening random girls. I've had a similar experience. I watched some video by Mystery and a few others where they were saying "If you talk to 5 girls, all 5 girls have to like you." I believed that for a long time, and tried to achieve it, but eventually realized it's impossible. I also had the idea that I needed to have lots and lots of friends to 'prove' my social skills were good. I think I get it. So if I have girls that I get into sexual situations with, but not a relationship, does that count as MGTOW? Because right now that is where I might be going towards. I've been building a group of close guy friends for emotional support because I have learnt I can't get emotional support from girls. Thanks for taking the time to explain this to me. This rule makes me reduce desire for girls, and makes me more forgiving of girls. So I found it helpful. And I was partly motivated to follow this rule after reading about the 'wall' in MGTOW, which is that a girl loses attractiveness after a certain age. So I thought it was MGTOW. But I will admit I know very little about these things. What do you think is an alternative that doesn't add to the problem? I'm always happy to hear other perspectives.
