I'm not saying it is right but how would a man have been certain a child was his before Dna testing? There was no possible way to be certain. Theres a theory that our penises were shaped the way they were in order to scoop out another mans sperm from a woman's vagina as he was having sex with her. It's biology can't disagree with it really

Of course it something that we can afford due to our incredible success as a species. However as can be seen with the frequency of cheating a man will often spread his sperm to multiple other females given the opportunity and also a female will cheat if a man with significantly better sperm quality shows interest in her. Not saying these things are right or wrong they're just biology

Yes biologically speaking women must also have a strong interest in sex. In order for her to ensure her genes survive she must find the fittest and strongest male and breed with him. Before Dna testing it was advantageous for women to receive sperm from multiple men as all of them would help provide not knowing if the child was theirs
