Manipulate her how? By telling it the truth and letting it respond accordingly to help it challenge her and help her grow? And confront her mistakes and the harmful decisions she made? Might be a great thing for her instead of allowing her to create a delusional best friend to support her ridiculousness.

Yeah, I think my situation is not like yours bro but I appreciate the perspective. I am good to go. Moved on months ago. The business transaction is done and final court date a month away. I’ve been in the gym for 6 months. I don’t want her. But I do find it entertaining that she is so deluded and that this is what she is potentially telling her friends. And I do find it a pretty interesting opportunity to have my voice heard in a way that will actually impact her since I have had to strategical…

Haha. Not sure I’d go that far but that was hilarious.

Absolutely. Will update the memory and delete the chat I put it in. But can coach it as if I am her to respond in a challenging way knowing what it does now after my prompts. She is tech illiterate. Will never know.

You guys are no fun. We still live together. It’s all good. I’m not NOT going to take advantage of this gift.

Thx man. I plan to tell close friends (my friends, not mutual friends) and my family. However, I am a bit hesitant, because I know if it gets back to her it will torch our co-parenting and post-divorce relationship. I don’t really like that. She cheated, but I know her perspective will be that she decided therapy wasn’t working and divorce was inevitable and started seeking attention a few months before we actually decided to divorce. Her position is somewhat defensible, so it puts me on the fen…

I asked my boss to hold it until July 2025 and pay it then as one time annual bonus. I assume this will work if divorced finalizes in April/May.

I can probably get them to hold it for 7 months, July 2025. Would that work? Divorce finalized April/May.

How much did you end up paying mediator in the end? And did you still need to pay someone else (paralegal/attorney) to do all paperwork or did mediator handle? Thanks for your help.

Yeah…don’t want to risk losing 50/50 if something changes, it comes out, and things go nuclear. I did have a consult and lawyer basically suggested I could revise my SFS if something went sideways but obviously at that point I would have lost credibility and it’s more likely she gets lawyer and things get contested.

Who is “they” though? Would have to be her, right? The LLP isn’t going to research and look for it, I wouldn’t think. That’s not their role. And the court doesn’t do that, I don’t think? And she doesn’t have a lawyer….so either she would have to look for it and see it and/or she would have to get a family member or someone to review. This is totally amicable. I’m mostly wondering where my risk exposure is in the process. Where someone could say “hold on a minute, let’s investigate” if all we are…

Yeah, so I’m wondering if there really won’t be much of a discovery in an uncontested divorce with a paper pusher? No one to review bank statements, ask tough questions, etc. And no, my wife isn’t going to research bank statements. Hence why I am struggling with this. Do I give her the goods and gift her 50k free? The amount on bank statements is for about 45K. All the other deposits were made before that over the prior 3-5 years in smaller amounts. But the name of the wallet is right there in b…

Basically…we would split everything $$$ wise but there isn’t quite enough for anyone to buy out the $350K each (700K total) equity. However I could pay her 350K from my Dad as an early inheritance so to speak. I want to keep house, and I think this means I am only one of us who can?? Since she would only have about $250K in retirement and $80K in cash. Do you agree? But I still need to keep that 2% rate.

Whatever. Doesn’t work if she loves you but isn’t “in love” with you. All bullshit.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
