I am (sometimes? usually?) in the same emotional place as you vis-a-vis wanting to "meet the right one" next. But I got some solid advice from outside the seduction world on that one: you've got to meet the girl and decide if you like her as a person before its worth even thinking about things like that. I was in a place where I was ready to get married and have kids, so my present vision of my future identify is in the process of being rebuilt from the ground up. I can't judge women by some "wo…

I didn't say anything about trying to act cool. You're projecting a lot of baggage onto the preceding comment. I thought I was pretty explicit that he should be dismissive of her. The point isn't to project the idea that he's surrounded by hot chicks all day, but it definitely is to project the idea that he didn't think about it much longer than the moment it happened. He doesn't say, "I never schedule a date with you!!!!". It could go something like: "oh, were we supposed to do something that d…

Yes, it is intimidating to men. Because you're attractive, you don't get to do the cat and mouse game where you coyly withdraw affection. Most guys will see that as rejection. You should approach a man you're interested in, have a warm smile and open body language, and start an interesting conversation. You don't need to do anything to increase attraction or generate rapport the way a man does. Just keep him interested in talking to you by being interesting. And feel free to say something like, …

We can safely assume she no-showed because she's not interested. We can also safely assume she's a jerk because she didn't let him know. Why next her? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. There is no recovering from this; one can only appear needy by still being available after such a jerk move. Why treat her like a person you're not interested in? Because you shouldn't be interested in a jerk, but even if you are, showing you're not is a good way to make her interested. Why p…

Step 1: NEXT. Step 2: If you interact with her again in some other context, pretend it never happened and treat her like the random person you're not interested in that she is. Step 3: If she brings it up and apologizes, act like you have no idea what she's talking about. You didn't even remember scheduling that date. She's that irrelevant.

I suspect this is a psychological defense mechanism covering for your fear of failure. Try to focus on what you're really feeling instead of withdrawing from it like this. Then you can try to unearth what's wrong and take steps to fix it. You can't fix something you're avoiding.

Dangers "...only arise when the man-made chemical is polluted by money-hungry gangs who cook it up." Refer to the first thing I say. Have you ever tested the product you bought? Unless you're sneaking it out of some government lab with your own hands, I suspect the smelly kid with dreadlocks who sold it to you isn't doing much quality control. Your knee-jerk defensiveness isn't going to make your polluted synthetic neurotoxin any less polluted. I'm quite educated on the subject, including throug…

Neither I, nor any of my friends, has ever done a chemical composition test on any of the "Molly" we bought -- before a party, or while out that we brought home -- and had it come back as even remotely close to MDMA. Also, don't say crazy things like "none of the side effects". I'm no prude, and I've done more than my fair share, but Molly is about as ridiculously bad for you as they come. But anyway... it depends on how you do the Molly. If you go outside and sit with some people and give each …

You should do two things: Sit him down -- specifically for a discussion on this topic, not "oh by the way..." -- and calmly explain that approaching attractive women gives you anxiety, just like it does for every other straight male on the planet, and that his encouragement -- while well intentioned -- makes you more anxious. If he wants to really help, he should start having conversations with groups of women and nonchalantly bring you into the conversation ("Hey obsideous, what was the name of…

A 2 month gap to a second date makes it a second first-date. So yes, it's just a matter of more dates (controlling for all other variables). And, also likely: the last guy she fucked after a few dates never called her again. It probably has nothing to do with you. Things rarely do. Maybe things will escalate quickly with her, and maybe they won't. Keep calm and carry on, or move on.

My experience is that there exists a ballmer peak of alcohol consumption and hooking up. A little bit loosens you up, a bit more gets you to the perfect place, and then if you keep going you fuck it all up. Drinking with my friends tends to push to Stage 3 Blitzed fairly quickly. My proposed solution for you, which the "field" has demonstrated as highly effective: pre-game with your friends before you go to whatever you're going to. During this pre-gaming, limit your time, consumption, or both. …

You forget that you're the only person that can hear the voice inside your head. You've just described for us the reactions of a dude that is so cool, so busy, so awesome, and so desirable that this girl hasn't been able to catch his eye with her stupid grin and shy anxiety. Oh, you're absolutely right. I am definitely an anxious person in general, but my experience and proficiency with women now means I can focus my anxiety on other aspects of my life, like career or gaining new skills. I just mean to convey the idea that anxiety is natural, and it's not something to feel bad about. Things absolutely get easier, but you can't ever just magically become this emotionless freak that never gets nervous. :)

It's not true that everyone has anxiety and just hides it. Some people are more anxious than others, period. There are people without anxiety; they have had pre-frontal lobotomies. Anxiety is the naturally occurring emotional manifestation of your pre-frontal cortex running future-simulations as you imagine your future. Yes, some people have more anxiety than others, and those people also tend to be high achievers. Experience absolutely builds comfort and confidence, and it's true that I can spe…

Sociopaths tend to treat people like objects. I don't mean, "you're objectifying that woman!" I mean like how people don't feel bad for a chair when they knock it over, because a chair is just a chair. It's an object for you, the subject, to take action on to achieve goals. That's how sociopaths behave towards humans.

I'll give my slightly contrary take. I get hit up by girls through sheer size-of-network. I'd certainly characterize myself as having far more than above-average value - more via force of personality (as opposed to a mansion, say) - but the reason girls seek me out is when I'm in touch with so many of them that I'm almost "withdrawing affection" as a default because I can't stay in touch with that many people frequently enough to be overly available. That being said, I AM the instigator most of …

Nearly 100% of the time, I wait for a convenient lapse in conversation, motion with my finger in a beckoning gesture, and say "come here". Then kiss. If they ask "why?", look at them like they're crazy and keep motioning. "Abrupt" is perfectly acceptable, and she'll be just be as relieved as you not to have to tip toe around it any more. "Awkward" requires two people to participate in the awkwardness, and it is entirely within your control whether or not you participate in making it awkward. Jus…

It's funny you pick LA and Miami because my pretention as a New Yorker tells me that those are the places where routines would work. I can't even imagine canned routines picking up a woman older than maybe 21 or 22 in NYC. It's interesting watching men whither under the harrowed glares of a gaggle of models in a Manhattan hotel bar. Beware the New York Female's dead eyes.

Sorry guys, there's going to be some down-voting on my comment, but I'll make it anyway. Video games are not inherently bad, but they lead to bad behavior. Games are different from most (but not all) other hobbies in that they occur in physical isolation, and when they do occur around others, those others skew massively disproportionately male. If you don't have a problem with the quantity of physical interactions you have with attractive females on a daily basis, then you are certainly welcome …

You know, I think it's worth point out that the critical ability of a stand-up comic is NOT being able to tell jokes, but rather being able to 1) observe people and sniff out their underlying motivations 2) anticipate and play off of people's reactions Sure, some weak stand-up - the safe kind with middle aged white audiences in middle america - is just a series of jokes one after another. This makes me a little sad. There are certainly plenty of jerks here, and out in the world, who are trying to manipulate you into sleeping with them, but I'd venture a guess that the majority of the men here are shy guys who were never taught this stuff by their male role models and need to learn how to cope with the post-feminism world of dating. I hope you find an awesome dude to seduce you.

That's still meaner than I like to be. My "negs" are usually things more like: "You look bored." "Why aren't you smiling?" "Are you really drinking that?" (neon blue drinks? seriously ladies?) I don't even know if these are so-called "negs". And they're certainly never scripted. Mostly, I'm just demonstrating that I'm not only talking to them because I urgently want to take them home. Acknowledge the ridiculousness of the situation and ally yourself with them. Yup. If you confront him politely and seriously to stop what he is doing, and do not let him brush it off, and he still refuses, you tell him you're going to punch him in the fucking face. And you look at him the way Hannibal Lector looks at a victim. I say this as a Buddhist.

The first few times you take it, you have a euphoria and incredible sense of outgoing energy. That quickly goes away, and you'll never get that feeling again. Ever. If you try to, you will become a drug addict. After even a short period of normal dosage, you're just taking your meds to feel normal like everyone else. We're talking about adderall. Well I see in your other comment she deleted it, but two things for everyone else: 1) That was not a funny joke. Remember that you can't convey sarcasm in writing, and old people in her family probably read that. Don't write stuff like this at all. 2) When someone is a dick to you on Facebook, "like" their comment. It takes all the sting out of it and shows you continue to not give a fuck.

You did well, had fun, and obviously learned from your mistakes. Just a couple specific points on where I think your analysis is a bit shallow, or incorrect: I don't think there's a clear rule on introducing yourself or not. Letting her ask for your name is an IOI, and introducing yourself first is just something normal polite people do. It's a wash, so I wouldn't worry too much either way how it happens. I don't buy the concept of a single linear spectrum; I think you get to chose what kind of man you want to make yourself, and becoming that thing is what makes you alpha. Ghandi and Ghenghis Khan were both alpha, even though my boy GK got all 'dem bitches. I'd still rather be Ghandi.

It's certainly possible to talk your way to the k-close, but kissing a girl is a million times easier if you've been rubbing her lower back for 15 minutes. Not just for her being into it, but for you feeling comfortable trying it. Kino is king. You really could be talking about the weather when you go in for the kiss if you are handling her body right.

There's a lot of this that depends on the situation, but you can usually wait until later on that day or evening and text "That was fun, let's hang out again some time soon". It's a pretty neutral one that lets her know you're not running for the hills while also hitting the pause button so you can decide what the next thing you want the two of you to do is.

For a man, "comfortable in his own skin" is the definition of good looking. Other than his incredibly well maintained body, Daniel Craig is a pretty weird looking toad-face. One caveat: a good body is a near-must. Not because you actually need one, but because it says you respect yourself enough to have one.

Totally. It doesn't matter which is the cause and which is the effect. Do these things because they are known to work. "Fake it until you make it" could also be "pretend until you forget you're pretending". Well, that sounds sort of machiavellian, but I don't mean it that way.

I applaud you, and you're doing great work, but I want to caution you: the fact that you changed these things is not what actually got the women. The fact that you feel better about YOURSELF now that you changed these things is what got the women. I solve this by not using FB for anything except secret stalking. No pictures, and no statuses about how cool I am. There is an actual physiological brain response that causes this. Read "Stumbling on Happiness" by Dan Gilbert. Despite the title, it's a pop neuroscience book, not a self-help book. The overly simplistic (and slightly incorrect) explanation is that your brain is in an emotional state (fear) that literally takes over your capacity for logical analysis. This is generally true, but what you'd doing here is showing that you don't care whether she calls or not because you're having fun anyway. Simple answer: Meditation. People who don't do it laugh about how ridiculous it is. People who do do it laugh at how impossible it is. Harder answer: You don't. Trying to silence it is like trying to break a rock with a hammer. Instead, you just try to quiet it as much as you can and accept that it is your reality, which is like trying to break a rock with a drip of water. Don't know if that makes sense, so my best advice is: learn as much as you can about meditation.

As often as I can, or when I feel like I really need to. When I go a few days without doing it, I notice that my quality of life declines. I don't know which is the cause and which is the effect, but it's irrelevant to behavioral modification: just do it. It's like smiling - you smile because you're happy, but smiling also releases the chemicals that make you happy. Science. Smile more. Appreciate beauty more. Try to silence the narration in your head.

I don't have any alternative experience, but I can't imagine having a marriage that didn't have an early phase as some kind of magical hollywood love affair where we couldn't keep our hands off each other and had sex like teenage bunny rabbits. I don't think a girl that sleeps with me the first time we met is a slut, because I think I'm the kind of guy that's worth sleeping with even if you'd never see me again. When a girl says, "I can't believe we just did that. I never do that," I believe her…

Fun activities that you can really throw yourself into with other people. If you do a lot of things to occupy your time that make you physically isolated - video games being the primary culprit - stop them. It's not that they're bad for you, it's just that they let you have fun without other people. Make it so you can't.

Thanks for the suggestion. Every now and again I want to go out on an off work night and none of my friends are around. Is this the sort of place I'd post to be like "let's grab a drink and talk to some people"? I'm more keen on that than doing some kind of meetup.

It can be hard, but you need to make a decision about the people around you. Are they people who care deeply about you and see this change as something that might hurt you? Or are they people who see your elevation as something that makes them feel smaller about themselves? If it's the former, think about how you can win over their hearts. If it's the latter, these people are poisonous bad people who should be surgically removed from your life. More complicated if it's family, but the principal …

I honestly couldn't tell you without knowing what you look like, and maybe there is such a thing as being too ugly to get a girl, but I certainly haven't seen it or heard of it. I don't know anyone - man or woman, attractive or not - that would look at another person with disgust based entirely on their appearance. Those people sound like they're the wrong kind of people to want to spend time with, or that you're doing something like broadcasting your own self-loathing so they can mirror it. I m…

I think the kind of humour you want is the kind that comes from understanding comedic timing by reading the people around you, not the kind that comes from being able to crack a good line. I'd focus on learning psychology, and doing people-watching around you. Try to watch what happens when someone else you consider good-humoured makes everybody laugh, and just keep trying. A lot of jokes that get panned in a conversation can be flipped around within a second by reacting to the joke getting pann…

Sit next to a guy at the bar who looks lonely and strike up a conversation with him. Commence increasing your energy levels by having an animated conversation with no pressure of really feeling like the conversation has to go anywhere at all. Eject when you want to go talk to some women, or just wait until they all walk up to you to find out why these two badasses are hanging out at the bar together.

I agree with you, but every virgin I've ever known (my past self included) disagrees with us. 0 is a scary number, and it sure feels like it defines you. But 1 is a scary number too. It's like this idea that someone might discover you're really a virgin that fluked his way out of the technical definition! I wouldn't begin to pretend I know exactly who I want to be. But things like career, geographic location, the way you cut your hair, the kind of hobbies you have... those are all details. Meaning you can't actually approach anybody, or you can't create desire? If you can't approach, stop trying to flirt. If you can talk to people, do that. The "state change" idea was revolutionary for me. You can't go from quiet and lonely to fully engaged with a beautiful woman on a beat. Start by talking to the bartender, your cab driver, your friends. Heck, just call someone up and banter with them for a bit as you walk to your destination. I long ago stopped going to dates right from my place. I'd go out somewhere first, have a single slow drink, and talk to the bartender or other patrons at the bar. The less intimidating, the better.

A fair amendment, but I think what you've described is just the illusion of actually loving yourself. If you really love yourself, you don't seek externalized validation (from sources of ill repute) anymore. If you look into the deep-rooted causes of narcissism, what you'll find is that narcissists have the least self-worth of all; their narcissism stems from their psyche creating a self-delusion to avoid the pain of reality. You have to laugh about it, like it was awkward for the world but you don't really mind because shit happens, and you immediately launch into any other subject. You: Hey. Her: Yeah? You: You look like you want to kiss me. Her: Umm... right now? Not really. You: Ha, well that's awkward. You're harder to read than I thought. So have you ever been to Boulder? I just went skiing there last season and it was out of control fun. No pausing.

Well that's a gross misinterpretation of what I'm saying! :) In a bar, you can see what everyone else is doing and not do it. You can put your actual self out there and demonstrate how awesome it is. There is no actual self on an online dating website. There is no seeing what the other guys are doing. There is no situation to read... just a blind shot in the dark every time. In a bar, you can immediately make her excited. No such thing online.

She's reading 1000 messages a day. You have a split second to get her to not close the message. You don't have captive attention. You could have spent 10 hours writing the messages so your immediate wittiness could seem faked. It's the same thing as when you walk up to a girl in the bar and she has her guard up, because every other guy in the bar is a skumbag. It's just the opposite side of the same problem.

Of course everyone cares what people think. It's not about making yourself seem less socially engaged or seem like you don't care. It's just about not putting it out there for the whole world to see. A man should pick his words carefully and practice discretion. It's a far more attractive quality in a male than being a social butterfly. I generally agree, but I think you may have described the "ideal" a little too starkly. I'd describe the ideal as having women desire you to such an extent that they're completely excited any time you invite them to spend time with you like this. The sex is tangential to the main point, which is that you are desirable to everyone. Being able to fuck someone in your phone book by lunch time any day you want is probably a subset of Alpha Pick Up Artists within a broader set of Alpha Seducers.

And the post-script to this advice is: when you move on, she will come crawling back. Not always, and maybe not even usually, but definitely sometimes. The key is that you have to next these flakey girls quickly and frequently, because then you have a whole cadre of pre-selected girls you've disqualified, and while you can't guarantee any given one will pursue you, you sure can guarantee ONE of them will. Number of times I've continued to chase a flakey girl and eventually won her over: Probably…

This, but the important part is that you say "thanks" as if you've heard it 100 times already that night. Appreciation & dismissal rolled into one. Don't be a jerk; she just said something nice. But don't be a pushover; she said something you already know. If she says something really unique, feel free to say something like, "you know, that's one I haven't heard before." It's worth noting that this is exactly the response beautiful women tend to have when you compliment them. Mimic said behavior…

Kino is about getting her used to your touch, but there's also the part where YOU need to get more comfortable touching people. No one really talks about that. I recommend: being more physically intimate with everyone you know in a non-sexual way. moving through crowded bars pushing men lightly out of the way on the shoulder ("excuse be buddy/man") and women lightly out of the way on the middle - not lower - back ("excuse me") hugging more people hello and goodbye pecking all women you have know…

You could do this, I suppose, but I feel like its a little douchier than necessary. I'd probably catch her eye to have that perplexed look - wait for the response mentioned above - then swoop right in. Left hand on her lower back, right hand extended to shake the guy's hand. "Hi, we haven't met yet. I'm [Name]." He shakes your hand and gives his name. You ask him how he and the girl know each other. He says something along the lines of "we don't" or "we just met". You say, "oh, mind if I steal h…

Right, which is exactly what will happen again when you stop letting yourself get pushed around. When a girl flakes, you tell her it's too bad it didn't work out. PERIOD. Let her come back to you, THEN decide if you want to give her another chance. If she flakes twice, tell her you don't hang out with people who don't know how to honor commitments. PERIOD.

Yeah, I wrote the above comment off the cuff and it does come across a bit the wrong way. What I mean about "fuck anyone who doesn't like you for you" is that you reach a point at which you no longer evaluate your value as a human being based off of other people's reactions to you. The "not pretending" part means you're not playing some game where you charm people; you just charm people because you're charming. It's who you are, not who you try to be. /u/OrganicEvil is right to suggest I clarify. You should only give a fuck about what people you respect think. If someone hasn't qualified themselves as your family, friend, a mentor, an expert, or the like, then they can make whatever judgement they want - good OR bad - and it's irrelevant to me. My point is that you should seek validation inside yourself and from those around you whom you respect.

By genuinely caring. If you like a girl and she likes her friend, that friend must have some positive qualities. Find them. Yes, practice game WITH HER too. I just took my girl to a lounge so we could "meet people." This HB9 started fawning all over me and talking with both of us. Mixed martial arts. The popularity of UFC changed the way most schools teach. Any old school or instructor would have a lineage in one or more traditional forms, but most schools that have any real business sense have moved to teaching a combination of boxing, muay thai, brazilian jiu jitsu, and pieces of other forms. Belt ranks still exist in any accredited school.

Are there things about yourself you don't like? Focus on fixing them or accepting them. Then you'll never feel like a woman is too good for you because nothing is too good for you. And you'll never feel like a job is too cool or an opportunity too big, either.

The key is that you had a great time. I know it feels like you've got to "lose the v card" or whatever your society has put in your head, but the key to being a confident mother fucker who gets shit done is to appreciate that having a great time is the only important thing. Easier said than done, I know. I felt the same way. But then you get to a point where sometimes you rather have a great night where you smile at 10 women and act like the life of the party than take one home just to fuck and …

No, just charming the people she seeks approval from. You should do the same to the guy friends through whatever means you can come up with (like if they did some sick move, you can do the little hand in the air pointing downward thing a few times, like "sick move brah").

Until you don't. As a black belt in MMA, I would never talk to a boyfriend like this unless he had physically threatened me. I agree that your first move is to charm him, but if that doesn't work, you shrug the whole interaction off and walk away like it doesn't matter to you, because it shouldn't. And if he does get physical with you, you try to calm him down. And if you don't calm him down, you try to get away. And if you can't get away, you try to get the bouncers involved. And if you can't g…

The context of "assume attraction" is that you assume that everyone likes you as much as you like yourself. If you don't like yourself, fix that part first.

Well done. But "two steps forward and one step back"? No, just steps forward. I didn't see any steps back at all. You need to avoid taking rejection is a judgement on your character. It has nothing to do with who you are, unless you just acted like a major jerk to someone. If you politely try to dance with a girl and she turns away or says no, it only means no, not "ew gross".

Or that she's seeing someone else and it's starting to get more serious. Or her cat just died. Or she has classes. Or she got pregnant and needs to fly to Afghanistan to have an illegal abortion. Or an infinite spectrum of possibilities, none of which matter. I agree with the sentiment that it's worth analyzing losses to identify areas for improvement, but lingering on a woman's reason for rejecting you is a pretty clear route towards ruminating on what's wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with yo…

The part that makes it needy/clingy is if you ask for their permission. If you want to see a girl again, say something like "I want to see you again." I know it might seem like some kind of double reverse negative psychology needs to be used, but just make it clear what you want. It is not merely a coincidence that this is synonymous with acting alpha. Judging you only on the information I have, it sounds like you still associate desiring these women with some kind of shame that probably was dri…

See, what you're doing here is only kind of giving her a compliment. Adorable does imply "adorable like a kitten", and this is a grown ass woman who wants people to think she's sexy. Don't call her sexy, call her adorable, and she'll want to prove she's sexy.

I like it. I would have immediately gone for the kill with something like "I hope you're not offended, but you can't really blame me. You're hot, I like you, deal with it ;)" as two separate texts immediately after one another, to show you came up with it on the spot. Except the more important point, which is text messaging can go fuck itself. Get to a date - you're there. No possible way to advance this further with texts. You can only fall from here.

Escalate refers to the idea that you need to create comfort and attraction at the same time; comfort without attraction is the friend zone, and attraction without comfort is the skumbag zone. You have to be more and more intimate or you will not end the night with anything more than an awkward hug. So you start by touching her elbow or shoulder and proceed over time to the hand and small of her back or hips (if you get that far). You start with stuff any non-stranger would be comfortable with, a…

If you're concerned about legality rather than personal safety, you shouldn't be carrying a weapon. You only use force when you have to use force, so the legality of your force is then entirely irrelevant. If it's him or me, it's him. Sort the law out afterward. Or run. Have dealt with this myself. There are two answers: 1) Try to read the girl - does she want a boyfriend or just to have fun? In your case, she seems very interested. Text as often as you have something interesting to say. Don't act needy or clingy, but continue a flirty conversation. If she was acting hard-to-get, you'd go the other direction and play it cool. 2) Have confidence in what YOU want your communications with her to be like, and just do them irregardless of what effect it has on her. …

The best I ever did was awhile ago, when a guy came up while I was flirting with a girl in his group. I can't remember what he said, but it was combative and designed to provoke me. I think the only thing worth pointing out is that very few people - and in your early 20's, almost nobody - can meet someone they think is worthy of a long-term relationship on a first date (or however you're meeting people).
