Yikes. Was that text above recent or from a year ago? This guy sounds horrible. As a girl whose love language is words of affirmation and has been played because i would believe mens words over their actions I definitely agree with your point. Believe their actions. Words can be cheap

This is especially important when you have a unique first name. A guy from tinder who i DIDNT swipe right on messaged me and added me on Facebook to say we didn’t match but he really wanted to get to know me. Kinda liked the effort but in the end found it creepy and again sir I didn’t swipe right because you weren’t me type. Men and their overconfidence to convince you to like them🤨 Thats when I realized my first name cant be used on OLD ever.

This is a good tip. I want to direct people to this sub all the time also but know people who think its like TRP or something which is ridiculous. When demanding more from men is compared to extremists who actually hate/dehumanize women that’s when you know its a bit hopeless

I completely agree. Definitely can and should be wine and dined without sex. Thats how I operate. My thought: Still unsure if you are not selling something. A pretty face and a small waist to look at or companionship seems somewhat as transactional as sex even though preferable

Anyone who works out especially with weightlifting knows that someone who trains for 2 years is gonna be stronger. This guy is really silly That man needs to hit the gym. An aside of course is that yes biology does favor male strength but no biology beats someone who works out/trains for years vs the guy who doesnt.

i am curious what we investment from men should we demand upfront? Obviously paying for dates, being respectful, etc. but what else?

I don’t think I know the best way really It honestly depends on the context of the conversation. Like I’m always trying to give off the vibe that im waiting to be impressed though. Ive also come out and said im high maintenance to some but again it was the context of the conversation (e.g covid pandemic is holding me back from travel, pedicures, shopping, etc) Again these are just words. Men say anything especially early on. You kinda gotta feel out who the person is and how willing they were to…

Same. I probably would have wanted to explain myself too 😭 And you’re absolutely right about how significant ignoring is. Its sad because im definitely the girl who loves talking, texting all day every day. But each time without fail the guy I like is the ons chasing me (saying how much he misses me, how he loves hearing from me) once I pull back and give less emotionally and communication wise! Literally he’s getting excited/giddy and sounding like me back in my pickme days. Ignoring works too …

Honestly true he probably got an ego boost from the viral views and her finally reaching out and of course men lie! 😂

Sucks that she went back to him once the video went viral. Girl looking a bit bad then unless he is embellishing what she said

I actually really like Dave Ramsey for my own personal finance guidance. With regards to dating, i think the guy was okay for saying its not in my budget but we can do it next month. I would respect that as a woman but would definitely be cautious if his replacement suggestion would be something like mcdonalds or panera. I think $500 is ridiculous for a second date imo of course. I would be impressed if it happened but its not necessary for a second date. However i do have bougie tendencies and …

Yikes that’s horrible. I completely try to avoid the kind of guy who routinely dates younger women for obvious reasons and yet still fell for the “you’re the exception” mind game. Your older guy sounds like the worst. Sorry that you wasted anytime even thinking about him. I am relating to your point about feeling like i will “miss an opportunity” because he is well off/ in a great place career and lifestyle wise but its literally just because of the age difference and most guys my age are just b…

Whew im getting creeped out by it the more i think about it. Definitely trying not to catch feelings but I really liked him hence why i asked. Not trying to put myself in a weird power struggle or abusive situation. Fds is giving me the sense i need right now because i was hesitant before and now im like yeah so basically he’s getting cut off 😭 i knew the age was a red flag but you are really spelling it out for me.

This is very real. I can’t see myself dating a 22 year old much less an 18 year old! I guess i was buying the idea that i was some one off exception to the age range he usually dates. But I completely resonate with your point about me seeing him as successful because he has more than an average 25 year old but when im 33 his “well off” will be custom or expect or even inadequate 🥴. Thanks for pointing this out to me and reminding me of why age differences can be messy!

Thats really but he confirmed he’s never date anyone more than 4 years younger before. I made sure to confirm i was an exception early on. At the same time you’re still right and im still thinking about how men benefit more from these sort of relationships

I should mention he met me as a student. im technically just finishing my grad program and starting my first job soon but i think this still applies. Thank you ! I also thought early 30s was ok for an older man but wanted to confirm

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
