For those who don't want to watch the 40-minutes, here's a summary of the advice: How genuinely confident people become confident 1) Not something you’re born with. Top musicians, entrepreneurs, authors, businessmen all hone their craft and constantly take action to learn and desensitize themselves. 2) Confidence is not being fearless but taking action despite fear. 3) It’s just an internal belief that “I am worthy” and “capable” that you can cultivate. You do that by... Prioritizing “Who am I?”…

The vast majority of the time it's your own mental barriers. Yes, some people don't want to be approached while reading, listening to music, etc but many do. I've watched successful approaches in almost any situation. If the person isn't interested, you just politely walk away.

Thank you so much! Glad to hear you've been pushing your comfort zone. Keep at it and everything will feel natural soon enough.

Yup, I realized early on in coaching that flooding doesn't work for most people. a gradual, consistent approach is usually the best bet.

When something's new, it often feels "weird" because it's unfamiliar. Never hurts to try. If you still don't find it useful, then try one of the many other exercises. Find whatever works for you and gets your over your hurdles.

While I'm flattered as I do respect Mark's work, this isn't some rehash. He's not the first person to talk about valuing yourself or investment. I've been coaching for 8 years and these are lessons from my clients. I spent 15-20 hours on this piece alone. Glad you enjoyed it.

At that point, it's probably more about the lack of a sexual connection progressing. Have you been flirting? Did you kiss or make out? Did you end up back at one of your places (even if you didn't have sex)? Attraction is fleeting. When a girl likes you and nothing happens, they often feel rejected, frustrated, or move on. If it's not that, share some details and I'll provide any other insight I have.

Yeah man, in Boston that's becoming the low-end for cocktails. Most places are moving towards $10-14+...pretty ridiculous.

I think it's silly to ignore an entire piece off that one statement. Especially when there's validity to that claim. Both of us are investing equal amount of time being on the date. But I also understand there's generally more risk and preparation on her side. She’s probably going to spend 1-2 hours getting ready while I take 30 minutes. She’s more likely to be in a dangerous situation with a stranger than I am. I’ve heard dozens of stories from women who met up on dates only to be followed home…

Right, because telling a girl, "You should be happy that I'm acknowledging your existence you whore." is so funny. Treating people like shit has no real world effect on them at all. You must be a tight ass feminist if you think otherwise. I truly hope your naivety is due to being 21 and that one day your opinions change.

Thanks. Yeah, most of my coaching starts with people who have a free consultation with me. I definitely think the dynamic plays a big part. The man is usually taking the initiative and the woman is responding. That inherently feels like she's evaluating you even though that doesn't have to be true (adopting a buyer mentality). Not sure what you mean about other aspects but as long as it's something you value of care about (standards), that's great.

That's where I disagree. Why would wanting to make friends be needy? Actions don't make you needy, your intention behind those actions do. Therefore, anything can be needy or not needy depending on your mindset. Whenever you're placing your wants, opinions, and desires first -- that's confidence. Whenever you make actions based on other peoples desires or perceptions of you -- that's neediness. If you genuinely want female friends and pursue that goal, you're being self-confident.

Not disagreeing but do you have some examples? I'd question why they feel the need to actively sell themselves. I've found that it's usually out of insecurity and protecting themselves. If they can normally connect with people but are out for a night playing a game for fun, more power to them.

Thanks man. It depends on the job and also who you are. If you're uncomfortable with that statement, give another forward compliment that resonates with you. The idea behind the bold, genuine compliment is what's important, not the specific line. I'm attracted to passionate, driven women. I had a girl tell me she busted her ass to get into law school, passed the bar exam, and just landed a job at a firm. I told her how sexy that was and she loved it. It became the turning point from friendly to …

Yeah that one can be iffy, depends on how she says it. If she seems just nervous or is smiling when she says it, you can try again. Otherwise, if she seems firm about It, wait until the next date.

Thanks bi1y, always appreciate your input. 1) 100% agree. The right environments provide a ton of fuel for conversation. And yeah, choosing a fun museum is solid advice. I've taken girls to glass blowing exhibits, the children's museum (which isn't just for kids, promise haha), the butterfly garden, and more. 2) I can see how that could be misunderstood. Just changed it to "Have her accept her feelings for you." Thanks for the heads up.

It's not about their perception or altering their view, it's about actually becoming a strong leader in life. I'm also not advocating manipulation. I'm advocating being upfront with your intentions and seeing if she wants to return that interest. If she doesn't, you don't try to control her, you just move on politely.
/r/seduction26/02/14 01:20 AM

Maybe you're not leading strong enough or making her feel comfortable. I've sat next to most girls without issue (including my current gf) and so have the guys I've worked with. Just this Sunday I advised a guy to follow this advice. They were at a Vietnamese Pho place for lunch. He was nervous about sitting next to her so he asked, "Can I sit next to you?" She immediately smiled and said, "Sure!" He told me it helped them both relax and feel like they already knew each other. Plus he said it wa…

Thanks! Being charismatic is attractive but a different topic than leading. If often has to do with non-verbal communication such as eye contact, body language, and vocal tonality.

OP, listen to this. This an amazing response and the analysis is perfect. I would only add that you also need sexually escalate. This is a romantic date and you need to build her attraction towards you. Create physical contact early and often. That guy barely knew her and she let him put his hands all over her. She was drunk, frustrated, and horny. She was getting drunk with you for hours. You definitely should have gone for the kiss halfway through the date. Based on the way she acted, I'd say …

There's much more to it than that. How many times has a guy gone on initial dates and struggles to create sexual chemistry? How about when things move to the bedroom and she just doesn't feel ready to have sex? What if you barely know her and want to speed up the romantic dynamic for your in-person date? What if she's on the fence about how she sees you and you want a quick way to permanently change that? The article is a simple stepping stone for guys to break the sexual barrier with a girl, ea…

I'm sorry you feel that way. Most of my posts are thousands of words, thoroughly researched, and detailed with practical tips and exercises. I often try to pair down overcomplicated ideas into easy, actionable steps. We already over think too much and sometimes the best answer is the simplest -- Occam's Razor. I think many Seduction members would disagree. I've shared my content here for over 3 years now and it has been consistently well-received.

Sometimes there is no "best" answer -- there's just different, effective ways to approach situations. I don't always setup dates like in the article. But, I see why it works really well. You're making the date more concrete and getting her to invest at every point. If you've ever read Influence (the best book on what drives people to take action), one of the 6 main principles is "commitment and consistency": If people commit, orally or in writing, to an idea or goal, they are more likely to hono…

I disagree about complimenting as a bad way to start conversation. I've watched hundreds of guys over six years do it successfully. I'm a man of high value. If I want to tell a woman I find her interesting, I'm deciding to share that value with her. It shows that I'm choosing her as someone I feel is worth my time. I'm not saying that's the only or best way you should approach every time but it works well. There could be many reasons why it wasn't effective for you.
/r/seduction16/01/14 01:23 AM
7

Thanks! It's definitely going to be perfect every time but it doesn't need to be. Many women will still be receptive. The message is to just start taking action and realize it won't kill you. With every experience you learn and grow. I honestly rarely see harsh responses with the guys I take out. It may be the way you're approaching. Are you softening the approach with something like "Excuse me" or "I know this is random but..."? Are you smiling? Are you making sure not to approach from behind? …

29 is nothing. The guy in the story is 29 as well. The girl he met at Teavana is in her mid-20s I believe. You're assuming a ton before you've even talked anyone. Many of the women out in the day are older. It's not like everyone that's walking around or working is under 20. Stop making excuses because you're scared, you can do this. You're not going to molest girls on the street -- you're saying hi. I've worked with guys in their 30s and 40s who successfully meet women during the day.

What I meant is that he had only made off-hand comments before. This was the first time he was going to start a full conversation with a random girl. And you can go in with the intention of asking for a number to setup a date. It becomes unhealthy when you need that number to feel happy or validate your success on it.
/r/seduction15/01/14 07:40 PM

Haha, I guess I should have added that you can wait for her "Thanks!" before asking for her name.

Approaching single women is usually the easiest. But if you want to approach a group, you can either: Approach the group as a whole. "Excuse me, you guys looked fun and I had to come introduce myself." Chat them all up for a few. Then ask the friend(s) you're not interested in if it's okay to get the other girl's number. Approach the people you're not interested in. Tell her/them off the bat, "Excuse me, I know this is random but I think your friend is really cute. Would it be okay if I talked t…

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I love calling but for some women it's just not as efficient as texting. Also, I included points in the article about not trying to know someone over text: "She probably doesn’t care about a play-by-play of your day. Unless you can make a joke from it or use it to ask her a question about herself — save it for the date." "Texting is a poor way to get to know someone — that’s what the real world is for."

To each their own. My masculinity isn't challenged by asking a girl who's lifting as well to spot me. As for the bar, the first statement was from an actual situation with a girl I ended up dating. She instantly shot back with a smile, "What can I say, I'm a generous person" which lead to us introducing ourselves. Delivery is key -- a playful attitude and grin go a long way. If you think having fun makes you less of a man, you should probably loosen up.

It doesn't have to be. Take baby steps. Ask for directions to somewhere or for the time. Then say thank you and leave. When I started I went out regularly for 3 months and couldn't approach a single woman. I worked hard at it.
/r/seduction18/09/13 12:06 AM

Probably, but the only way to know for sure is by talking to her :)
/r/seduction18/09/13 12:02 AM

Definitely, that's where transitioning and learning to riff comes into play. But so many guys still aren't introducing themselves regularly. They need to start with just that simple idea.
/r/seduction17/09/13 04:26 PM

It's ridiculous to think that saying "hi" is stupid. It's a direct, confident, and normal way to start a conversation. Remember, it's not about what you say as much as how you say it.

Yeah, someone who didn't like me got a mod to kill my account. No warning after 3+ years =/ They argued I was a spammer even though I only posted to Seduction, with approval from the mods, answered every single comment, and contributed advice to many threads.
