I think that there’s a way to do sexual content in TV well, and that in some stories, it really does add to character development and advancement of the plot. Some examples off the top of my head are Brooklyn, The Queens Gambit, and Santa Clarita Diet. The first two are about young women coming of age, and their early sexual experiences are shown from a very feminine perspective, not to titillate the audience, but to show us what she’s going through, the good and the bad. The last one, Santa Cla…

I’m dedicating my live to the advancement and passing on of mathematical knowledge , and I think I would have a hard time being with anyone who doesn’t really value that, deep down. Maybe not a mathematician, someone who’s doing the same in physics or philosophy might be ok too, but I don’t think I could be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t find the statement and story of the proof of Fermat’s Last Theorem riveting. Like, what I do matters deeply to me, and I never want to be with some …

One thing Lundy Bancroft says over and over in his book “Why Does He Do That” is that abusers can control themselves. They will rage and scream smash things, but it’s always their partner’s stuff that’s gets smashed, not theirs. When the police show up, he’s immediately a perfect gentleman, calm and cool and points at the women’s agitation and alarm as proof that she was the one causing the scene. “Look officer, we were just having an argument and she started screaming at me, we’re dealing with …

Reminds me of when I was crafting with a male friend (back when I had any lmao) and he just randomly, while I’m gluing little fake succulents to something, leans in to kiss me. It was like a game of limbo how far I had to lean back before my brain caught up and I said “NO” with all the force I could. I had already told this man I wasn’t interested, and he kept trying to talk me into dating him, but we had been friends since middle school and our families know each other so I didn’t feel ok just …

Good job, it’s hard leaving a relationship after you’ve poured so much time and energy into it, even when you know it’s the right thing. It’s good you’re planning on taking some time to work on yourself! My advice as a former serial dater: spend lots of time with other women. Text that friend you haven’t seen in a while to meet up for brunch, make friends with women in your yoga and dance classes, work on building up your social life so you won’t feel the need to jump back into dating right away…

For real though, the cultural narrative is that being single is inherently bad, that being in a relationship is always an improvement, but the years I’ve spent single have been some of the most peaceful, happy, and nurturing years of my life. My current relationship is nice too, he’s a wonderful guy and I never stay up at night wondering if he’s doing something behind my back. But if I did have cause to worry, if I did start stressing about the relationship all the time because of his actions, I…

I like how Michal puts it in The Good Place: “If soulmates do exist, they're not found, they're made. People meet, they get a good feeling, and they get to work building a relationship.” No one is your one and only chance at love, and thinking that way sets you up for disappointment, or even mistreatment if you stay with someone abusive because you think they’re “the one”. But some people, like my parents, just seem to be perfect for each other, like puzzle pieces who’s weird pokey edges fit rig…

Good job dropping him! Don’t feel too bad you didn’t follow the handbook exactly, years of social conditioning won’t go away without some trial and error, and you’re learning/reflecting on the mistakes, so you did get something out of it. Don’t feel like you have to drop the hobby because of him though, just totally ignore him, don’t even make eye contact, and keep going about your life how you want to. Trust me, it’s much easier to ignore an ex in public than you think, and it’s a good skill to…

So, some of these are legal in some places, and I generally classify legal drugs like weed (depending on location) in the same group as alcohol. I’m not going to judge someone in Colorado who smokes a little on weekends any more than I would judge someone who drinks a little on weekends. But I will judge someone who smokes all the time, spends a lot of their money on weed, and ignores their responsibilities to get high just as harshly as I would judge someone who drinks all the time, spends a lo…

All my successful friendships with men have fallen into three categories: 1- long term partner of a woman I’m friends with. This only works when both people are what this sub would call high value, and only when they have a solid relationship for long enough for me to get to know him, but all of my favorite men I’m not related to (except my boyfriend) are in this category. 2- Men I work with who keep things friendly/professional. I think one of the things I like about (some) moderates is the willingness to look at issues individually rather than accepting a whole list of things as “this is what the left/right thinks” and running with it. Like my dad, I wish he was a little more left on some economic things, but he’s very feminist in his core beliefs, very pro-choice, very pro-equal pay, very anti-patriarchy. He doesn’t publicly identify as a feminist, doesn’t try to get clout, but he does things like advocate for coverin…

Oooooohhhh yeah. Man was openly pretty woke, stood up for women’s rights (particularly when it involved “sexual liberation”), happily made fun of conservative guys with me, seemed great. Then the mask started to slip. If he knew I didn’t like a women (my ex roommate who hurt my cat for example) he would feel comfortable insulting her as I assume he insults all women he doesn’t like, using sexist language, comments about her body, comments about how many men she sleeps with, stuff like that. Imagine being in a grocery store, where every isle is labeled, every item is required to have packaging that describes what’s inside, there are people working there who can help you find things or answer questions about products, you have the whole wide internet at your fingertips, and badgering your partner because you can’t be bothered to use your brain or your resources.

Yeah, casual sex isn’t great for women, I never said it was, I’m just pointing out that the pull out method is much, much less effective than any actual method of birth control. A married couple using the pull out method is over twenty times more likely to have an unplanned pregnancy than a couple using a copper IUD, for example. It just isn’t a good method of birth control.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/02/22 04:13 AM
2

You can do whatever you want, but the pull out method is significantly less effective than condoms, hormonal birth control, or an IUD, and doesn’t protect from STDs. Just because you’re comfortable taking that risk doesn’t mean anyone else has to be, and definitely isn’t a reason to side with redpill men advocating to never war conforms.

There are two statements here, and I few differently about them. “It is a myth that you have to love yourself before you can be loved” I basically agree. I think it’s ridiculous to say you can’t love someone who doesn’t love themselves, my mom never stopped loving me when I was depressed and hated myself, silly notion. “People can love us into loving ourselves.” Ehhhhh, your self love shouldn’t be reliant on outside influence, I don’t think it’s healthy to enter romantic relationships when you d…

Well, my parents are a pretty good couple, neither one is perfect, but they have a really good relationship. For the first few month of dating, they lived in cities about 3 hours away, and my dad drove to see my mom regularly, after a while they started planning trips together, and eventually they moved in, got married, had kids, the whole nine yards. I love this, my variation is keeping a note titled “John Doe Red Flags” for each guy I date and literally keep track of everything that bothers me about him, to make myself face the whole list and not just excuse little things because they seem insignificant. Yeah, I entirely agree that men tend to be more critical of and more openly negative towards books, film, and TV featuring female protagonists. I think the captain marvel complainers are being silly, but I only really like two marvel things at all (black panther and WandaVision) so I know I’m not the target audience. But on Star Wars, I do get it. The sequel trilogy is pretty wack, they changed directors partway through, threw out a bunch of old cannon, did some really tremendously stupid things…

I’m not really an Adele fan, but people say this about Taylor Swift all the time and it always makes me roll my eyes. Artists should always have the freedom to express themselves how they want, and to focus on the things that inspire them. Love, heartbreak, grief, passion, these are things that people have been singing about since before the language we’re speaking in now existed. Trying to limit heterosexual female artists from expressing how they experience those things, just because it involv…

Too many men think cruelty is funny, and will excuse it as “just joking around” when they say things that hurt you. Then it’s your fault for not taking a joke, when the only person ever meant to be amused was him.

I can remember talking to an LVM ex trying to explain why I couldn’t just “get over” him cheating on me with his ex girlfriend when I was out of town visiting a sick relative… he would just go “yeah I know I’m trash” “I’m a terrible boyfriend” crap like that, as of that excused it. But he was being honest, he was a terrible boyfriend! I should have dumped him a long time before that.

100% agree, it’s also nice to be able to look back at it if you feel bad about blocking/deleting, like do I really want to spend my life with someone who licked all the salt off their margarita glass like a dog before starting the drink? Not really, much easier to ignore him if I keep that in mind

Ok so multiple men have made negative comments about my vocabulary, which is extensive, but like, what a wack ass thing to try and neg me about. I’m a graduate student, I use big words. So, I know more frat guys then I like to think about, and some of them had no sexual experience coming into collage. Across the board, social pressure from their more sexually experienced brothers drove them to try to have casual sex or enter a sexual relationship ASAP. I never once saw any evidence of women in sororities doing the same thing, and there were girls in my sorority who were waiting for marriage or just hadn’t had sex yet, and sisters just didn’t pressure each other like the guys di…

Classic pick me. Bends over backwards for a man to “keep him” and puts down women who aren’t subservient to men by saying they’ll be unable to keep a man. It’s perfectly acceptable to like making your partner happy, to want to do things for them. But if your relationship depends on doing unpaid labor for someone who wouldn’t be with you otherwise, girl, get out.

Make a list of things you enjoy doing by yourself, separate them into “going out” and “staying in” then, whenever you feel crappy and like you need a man, use google or a dice to randomly pick from whichever list works for you (I use the going out one in the day and the staying in one if it’s late or I don’t want to leave the house) Some ideas from my lists Staying in: 1- bubble bath and tea 2- yoga and audiobook 3- play with pets! For me, it was after a guy dropped some red flags and I just ghosted him, not worth the effort. A few months later I ran into him in public and he tried SO HARD (like, really pushy and gross) to get me to go out with him but I just said no and went on with my life. Hating ANY animal (except maybe mosquitoes and ticks) is a red flag. If you have a phobia, deal with that shit in therapy! If you’re allergic, take your allergy medication. Animals are amazing, and we are so much more dangerous to them than they are to us. Fear and caution are different, but hate??? I just can’t be around people who’s hate is focused on beings that mean them no ill will, instead of the many evils of humanity that deserve our wrath. Here lies a toppled god- His fall was not a small one. We did but build his pedestal, A narrow and a tall one. -A poem by Frank Herbert I enjoy, in context (Dune: Messiah) it’s about how elevating a leader above being human sets the leader up for failure and the people up for disappointment. The higher the pedestal is, the bigger the fall is, and the more you can end up hurting for it. Also, I like the poem just for having a nice sound to it.

One thing I had pointed out to me today was that colorism affects women in Hollywood way more then men. Almost all black women in major films/shows (looking at you Netflix originals) is light skinned or mixed race, where dark skinned male actors, while still facing discrimination, get to actually be in major productions. Example: rue and thresh in the hunger games were literally described as having the same skin color, but they casted a light skinned girl to play rue and a dark skinned boy to pl…

It’s not about them believing in astrology, it’s about them not lecturing you on your interests and beliefs unasked. “I don’t like/believe in X” isn’t a red flag “liking/believing in X is stupid” is. Obviously this only covers trivial things, not like real social issues and stuff, but especially if he doesn’t believe in astrology (most men don’t), seeing if he can handle a difference of opinions with grace and let you do your thing uninterrupted is important.

Real empowerment comes from access to education, healthcare, and safe working environments. When people have those, they get to make more decisions about their life, rather than just trying to survive. In particular, women having access to education and birth control is one of the biggest predictors of how free a country actually is, because we’re one of the most universally discriminated against groups and those are the best ways to keep up under control. What I’m saying is empowerment isn’t ab…

That fear of being the creepy man is really common is wlw, like being uncomfortable and afraid of sexual advances is such an early experience for most women that we all have the instinct to never ever be like that, to the point where it becomes hard to date at all because no one wants to creep each other out. And there’s a difference between liking men sexuality and romantically, and also between being attracted to men but choosing not to be in a relationship vs not being attracted to men at all. I obviously don’t know your life but if you’re not attracted to women, lesbian isn’t going to be the best label for you regardless of how you feel about men. From your comment (and again I don’t k…

Saying that the porn industry is unsafe for women and damages men’s ability to empathize with women is not “sex-positive”, nor is telling women to be careful about who they engage in sexual relationships with and avoid one night stands, or telling women that men who want to hurt you in the bedroom are bad news. Porn isn’t sex. At it’s best it’s a performance of sex meant to be visually appealing rather than pleasurable to the people involved, at its worst it’s filmed rape. Learning sex from porn is like learning Kung fu from anime, except making anime doesn’t involve blackmailing, coercion, or drugging women.

I once shocked and outraged a group of men because they were trashing Greek life at my school (something I’m involved in) and I made the comment that I had faced more misogyny and abuse from nerdy guys in my stem classes then I had from fraternity guys. Like they refused to accept my actual real life experiences because it didn’t fit into their worldview of “quiet guy good buff guy bad” no, all men are capable of abuse, they don’t walk around with labels that say “I’ll threaten to kill myself if…

Yeah covens are organized religion, and organized religion is an amazing way to control people. I practice by myself, and while I’m willing to discuss it online, I just don’t see the point of doing anything relating to paganism with other people. Like I eat holiday meals with my family, but that’s about it.

Girl no... I was trying to be positive like “maybe it’s about safe sex, consent, how to set boundaries, stuff like that everyone should know before their first time!” But no, it’s about how to turn guys on, as if if men don’t Jack off to unusually curvy driftwood in a pinch.

This is why I became pagan, I can celebrate holidays on my own, follow the wheel of the year, still have the benefits of a belief system, but not associate myself or support evil people using organized religion to cover up terrible deeds. Religion is great for my mental health, organized religion is terrible for humanity.

I love lizzo, “Truth Hurts” is a jam and it will always be in my good vibes playlist, but damn is “boys” her weakest song. Having standards and preferences is not discrimination, and the idea that to be body positive you have to want to sleep with every body type is just wack as hell. Everyone should love, nourish, and take care of their body, I don’t have to pretend to be attracted to every body to think that.

There’s nothing necessary bad about them, it’s just a personal preference. What’s special about gemstones to me is that they’re something beautiful and rare made by the earth herself, so man made gems just don’t really have the same appeal to me. People who only give attention to people they want to sleep with think that any attention they receive means that person wants to sleep with them. That’s why it’s “gay” for men to be nice to each other and “leading them on” for women to be nice to them. It’s a low value self-fulfilling prophecy.

How many days you’ve experienced, how many opportunities you’ve had to grow, how much time you’ve had to develop. Your education and career 100% come first, you can date at the same time, but if it becomes a distraction, be single for a while. I dated a lot in my first two years of college, and I went my whole junior year without any male attention at all, that was the year I realized I was in the wrong major and changed it, that was the year I became a leader on campus, that was the year I started leveling up. I’m dating again now as a super senior (lol changing your major junior year is fun) but I know be…

Saying what you’re looking for won’t filter out guys who only want sex, it just shows them the best lies to tell you so you get an emotional connection in hopes that it will help them get sex. Learn to be a little mysterious, let him show through his actions what he has to offer, don’t tell men how best to play you.

Yes, growth takes time. Healing takes time. But that time will pass weather or not you use it to grow and heal. A year from now, a year will have passed, the question is will you be a year into thereby, well along the road to a happier life, or will you still be afraid to start? You absolutely have it in you to be happier, more powerful, most self-actualized, and we all believe in you. Getting help is scary at first, trust me, I’ve been there, but it’s sooooo worth it and you’ll wish you started…

I asked the person what specifically I needed to change to look professional enough, and they had a lot of trouble putting it to words. I think Sissy is a HVW and stuck in a shitty time to be a woman. My favorite line from her was when her LVM husband said “I stayed, you can’t ask more than that” and he says “I’m asking, but not from you” like chills She saves up so she has her own money for a rainy day, protects her kid even through it would be easier to send him to an institution, and when she gays a chance to leave her husband, she does. Schedule a call from a friend or family member at a certain time, make sure you’re where you can get to your phone. If the date is going well, look at your phone, turn down the call, and comment about it not being important if asked. If the date is going badly and you want an out, pick it up, pause, look alarmed, then tell the person on the phone “I’ll be right there” or something and explain there’s an emergency, of pressed say “it’ll take to long to explain”. Before COVID my grandparents went on walks together picking up trash as they went, but not as a date, as an act of service to the community. I think that established couples can absolutely do community service together, and I think community service organizations are a great way to meet HVM, but those aren’t dates. Dates aren’t free and dates aren’t labor. Volunteering your time to a worthy cause is great, but don’t mix it up with a date.

Exactly, this study was done to specifically look at workplace behaviors but we can probably assume that some men who are high skilled at video games would be low skilled in an office and would be part of the problem in those cases. Abstract for the study: Gender inequality and sexist behaviour is prevalent in almost all workplaces and rampant in online environments. My kink is loving sex with a partner who doesn’t get off to the thought of girls and women suffering, and doesn’t support the porn industry in any way. I’m also really kinky in that if I don’t have an orgasm, neither does my partner. LibFems ready to stand up for my kinks??? Or am I abusive and controlling for not wanting to be abused and controlled?

The people calling this a “red flag” are delusional, the red flag was not liking “vanilla” (aka normal, loving, enjoyable for women) sex. Abuse isn’t a red flag, it’s abuse. Never engage in even “light” kink with a man, once he figures out you’re willing to compromise on your boundaries, he WILL take advantage of it.

If you don’t want to be in a relationship with a women, don’t be in a relationship with a women! Just say upfront “I’m a fuckboi and proud” and we aren’t gonna come chase after you. No one is making men commit, they just act like that’s what they want to in order to trick women into being their free maid/mommy/fleshlights. Get away from me with this dusty “I got burnt and now I’m afraid of committing” shit, we don’t buy it no more.

I think you should review the “sex talk” section of the required reading for this sub, it’s spelled out in there. It’s a balance if both. These are not conflicting posts. Prioritizing physical attraction above all else is a bad mindset, just because someone is hot doesn’t mean they’re a good partner for you. At the same time, if you’re not attracted to someone, you’re not going to be happy in a relationship with them, they are not a good partner for you. I want one or two children someday, my best friend in the world doesn’t. We both respect each other, love each other, and are kind to each other. We also have different career goals, she wants to work in finance, I want to work in academia. You don’t have to have the same goals as someone to respect, love, and be kind to them. To me, the question “what do you think about women who don’t want children?” is like asking “what do you think of women who don’t want to be in academia?” I don’t really h…

One frustrating thing for me about the “good faith” argument is that the phrase “bad faith” was used by Jean-Paul Sartre to describe the phenomenon in which human beings, under pressure from social forces, adopt false values and disown their innate freedom, hence acting inauthentically. One of the examples he used to demonstrate bad faith was a couple sticking together when they both had nagging suspicions that they were together for the wrong reasons. His exact example? I always laugh when men put “Militant” in front of whatever a women is doing to try to make it seem worse. Militant indicates “extreme, violent, or confrontational” methods. We actively teach women not to confront men, just to leave. We never advocate violence, )that’s MGTOW’s thing, wouldn’t want to steal it.) And if not dating people who don’t meet your standards is extreme, then it’s also extreme to not eat food you don’t have any to, or not have sex if you don’t want to.

My boyfriend hand made a necklace using one of my favorite stones (rose quartz) and arranged them in a Fibonacci Sequence along the chain because I’m passionate about mathematics. That meant more to me than any gift I had gotten from a man before. A gift really doesn’t have to be expensive, just thoughtful and personal. My aunt and uncle judged my parents for years because when they had problems in their marriage they went to a relationship counselor and actually fixed the problems. When you’re at a guys place, check out how clean the spaces he doesn’t show you are. Under his bed, in his closet, the cabinet under the sink, his dresser drawers, ect. Don’t tell men what you’re looking for, you’re just handing him a tip on how to play you. Deflect the question, say you don’t know, say “the right guy for me I guess?” Or “someone who shows me who they are without knowing what I like.” Act like it’s a dumb question, because it is. Never hand a man a personal playbook on getting into your pants. Let him show you who he is, then judge if that’s what you want. And yeah, looks to me like he’s trying to lower your expectations for him, which is a red…

Alternatively: wear whatever makeup you want, do it for yourself, and don’t let men or women tell you what to do. If I want to wear a little concealer and mascara, I can do that. If I want to do your makeup like Kylie Jenner, I can do that. Either way it’s my business.

For me it was a mindset shift, I no longer wanted to “have sex”, “get laid”, or “sleep with” men. I want to make love and I accept nothing less. If I’m going to be intimate with someone it has to be someone I love, someone who has shown that they love me (reliably, over a period of time spanning months, not dates). It has to be passionate and emotional, he needs to be focused on making me feel good, and vise versa. Dirty talk should be things like “you are amazing” “yes, that feels so good” and …

I don’t wear a lot of makeup, so my power makeup is a slight contour with bronzer, some blush and highlighter. Clay-tone red lipstick, and bronze eyeshadow on my lid with dark brown blended into the crease and gold on my inner corners. Also mascara. It’s subtitle but it all matches my coloring and just makes me look a little fiercer.

I highly recommend the curly girl method, even if you just cut out silicones and sulfates you’ll see a huge difference. I still use a shampoo (sulfate free) because I have oily skin and co-washing leaves my scalp oily but other than that I follow the starter routine in their wiki and love it. The biggest two (outside of FDS) for me are r/curlyhair and r/skincareaddiction I used to think that I would look better if I just used more expensive products and I waisted a lot of money on stuff that wasn’t intended for my skin/hair type. Now I have more simple routines which give more time for important things, and I look better when I roll out of bed which gives me more confidence. r/minimalism and r/capsulewardrobe are both nice for having a more simple life based around what actually adds…

Women isn’t an adjective, female is. Ex. “That move had a lot of strong female characters”vs “I loved the representation of strong women in that movie.” In the first case “strong” and “female” were both describing the characters, in the second case, “strong” was describing the women, who we understand to be adult human females. So “female dating strategy” is equivalent to “dating strategy for women” but “woman dating strategy” isn’t grammatically correct. and yes I know I’m a grammar nazi This i…

“I’d prefer if we got dinner together instead” is a fine response to asking for a coffee or bar date, if he has an issue with that, he’s an LVM. But if he invites you for coffee, you say you’d prefer dinner, and then you get dinner, he’s listening to you and trying to meet your standards. No guarantee that he’s a HVM, he might think that if he gets you dinner you’ll sleep with him. Don’t explain why, that invites negotiation, just be firm, direct, and polite. “This is where the bar is set” and s…

For me it depends, my favorite restaurant is Vietnamese and I always get hot tea there, I avoid Mexican food for dates because I love margaritas and it’s just not the same without (save that for girl’s night), I might get a Shirley Temple or fancy lemonade if I’m in a mocktail sorta mood, or just water. They really like feeling intellectual, and stoicism gives them an excuse not to care about ethics. To a traditional Stoic (Marcus Aurelius being a good example) a good life is defined by success, and control of your reactions. It’s a philosophical excuse to not care about if your actions are morally right, if it leads you to success, it was good. If it lead to failure, it was bad. Stoicism also means shoving down your emotions and reacting “logically” to a lot of men, although that’s a little tw…

It doesn’t take a super genius to hear “I’m dumping you because you do X” and then not do X in front of the next woman they’re trying to trick into sex.
